OPENING THEME: KU ZEN ZETSU GO (Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters)
In an old garage in New Domino City's Satellite District, Yusei Fudo worked diligently on his Duel Runner. As the door opened, he looked back to see his friends and teammates, Crow Hogan and Jack Atlus walk through carrying a bag a piece full of cups of take-out noodles. Before Yusei had a chance to ask why they'd bought so many, he got his answer as Akiza, Luna, and Leo entered right behind them, carrying drinks and snacks.
"Lunch time, Yusei!" Crow called out, "gotta keep our strength up if we're gonna win the tournament next week."
"Hmph, as if any of the other chumps who enter even have a chance," Jack Atlus declared cockily.
"I read in the paper this morning that some of the top Turbo Dueling teams from around the world are participating in the tournament," Luna revealed.
"That just means when Yusei wins, every one is going to know who the best duelist ever is!" Leo shouted excitedly.
"I don't know if I'd go that far, Leo," Yusei admitted, turning away from his Duel Runner to face his friends.
"Right, as Yusei never hesitates to remind us," Jack teased, "he's actually dueled alongside the greatest duelist of all time."
"Hey, tease all you want, but I'm definitely jealous," Crow admitted, "I'd love to have seen Yusei and Yugi dueling together. Oh, and that other kid, Judai?"
"Jaden," Yusei corrected him, recalling the harrowing duel he had fought alongside two extraordinary duelists from the past to save their world's history.
"Well, I'd say fighting alongside the King of Games is great, but if I ever had the chance, I'd rather face him in a duel. We'd see if his title holds up against the Master of Faster, Jack Atlus!"
"Heh, that could be fun to watch, if only to see Yugi knock Jack down a peg," Crow admitted. By now, all of the food had been set on a table and Crow was grabbing a can of grape soda, "now come on, let's…"
Before he could finish his invitation, red light began to shine from inside each duelist's deck case. They each opened their cases and pulled out the glowing cards, staring at them in confusion.
"Who… what's with Black Winged Dragon?"
"My Black Rose Dragon is glowing!"
"So's my Ancient Fairy Dragon!"
"What's going on with my Power Tool Dragon?"
"Red Dragon Archfiend is glowing too."
Yusei didn't say anything as he looked at his glowing Stardust Dragon. All of their ace cards were glowing, and all Yusei could do for the moment was wonder what it meant.
As if it were trying to answer Yusei's question, the Crimson Dragon marks of all five Signers began to glow red. Yusei didn't wait to see how the others reacted. He jumped right onto his Duel Runner and blazed out of the garage.
Yusei's mark was still glowing as he blazed onto the open road and sped along it.
"I've got a bad feeling about this," he admitted to himself as he sped along.
"Yusei!" Crow's voice called out. Yusei looked to his left just as Crow sped alongside him on his Blackwing Duel Runner. Luna was riding behind him. "Hey, I've got no idea what's goin' on here!"
"But if you think we're letting you handle whatever this is alone, you're wrong!" Jack declared as Akiza's and his Duel Runners pulled up on his right, Leo riding along with Jack.
"I don't know what we're up against here guys, but whatever it is, this isn't going to be easy!" Yusei shouted to his friends.
"All the more reason we do this together!" Akiza called back.
"Alright, guys," Yusei said, looking up at the sky. He wasn't surprised when the Crimson Dragon appeared above them and flew towards the Signers, "then LET'S REV IT UP!" he shouted as the Crimson Dragon engulfed the team and vanished, taking them with it.
"Go, Elemental Hero Neos! Attack his Life Points directly!" a young, brunette duelist in a red jacket called as his heroic companion, Neos, attacked his black haired, black coat wearing opponent. (CHAZZ PRINCETON: 0 LP) (WINNER: JADEN YUKI) "and that's game!"
"You've gotta be kidding me! I lost again!" Chazz shouted angrily.
"That was a good match," Jaden said happily, "but this one's mine!"
"Jaden," a female voice said into his ear. He looked behind him to see his duel spirit companion, Yubel, staring up at the sky. He and his friends had been dueling in the yard, and Syrus Truesdale, Alexis Rhodes, and Tyranno Hasselberry, who had been watching the duel all looked up curiously.
"What's up Yubel?" Jaden asked.
"Something's coming."
As soon as she'd said this, a portal seemed to rip open in the sky and the Crimson Dragon burst out from it!
"Whoa, what in tarnation is that thing?" Hasselberry exclaimed as the dragon began to fly down towards them.
"Is that the Crimson Dragon? What's going on now?" Jaden wondered.
"You've seen that thing before, Jae?" Syrus asked in disbelief.
"Yeah, I have, Sy, and if it's showing up here, then things are about to get interesting," Jaden admitted, a smile crossing his lips as he and his friends were taken by the dragon.
Back in Domino City, the pink haired girl was lying an Yugi's bed, having been carried there with help from Joey and Tristan who were there as well, along with Tea.
"So, any idea who she is?"Joey asked, looking over the young woman.
"I don't know, Joey," Yugi admitted.
"Her clothes are ripped and she's got a lot of injuries. Do you think she was in some kind of fight?" Tea asked.
"Guess we won't know until she wakes up, huh," Tristan admitted.
"We may find out sooner," Yami admitted to Yugi, "if she was under attack, she likely fled from whatever was attacking her, and it may follow her."
What do we do if it does? Yugi thought to the Pharaoh.
"I don't know," Yami admitted, "only time will be able to answer that question."
Yugi's grandfather calling them from downstairs drew their attention and they quickly rushed downstairs to see what he was calling them about.
Solomon Muto was watching the television when they got downstairs and they quickly saw why he had called them. An emergency news broadcast was showing the park where Yugi had found the mystery woman. Police officers were working to block off the roads as dozens of creatures advanced towards them. Yugi had no way of knowing that these were the same monsters Goku and his comrades had battled before.
"Bettin' there probably here for out mystery damsel," Tristan admitted nervously.
"What was yer first clue, Tristan?" Joey mocked, though it was obvious he was just as nervous.
"What do we do, Yugi?" Tea asked.
"I… I don't know," Yugi admitted.
"Pharaoh," a quiet, feminine voice called so quietly that Yugi wasn't certain he had heard anything at first, until it called again. "Pharaoh!"
"Who was…" Yugi began to ask, only for a glow to appear from inside his deck case.
"YU-GI-OH!" He called as he switched places with the spirit of the Millennium Puzzle, Yami, who opened the case and pulled out the glowing card.
"Dark Magician Girl!?" Yami exclaimed in surprise when he saw which card it was.
"Pharaoh," the voice seemed to come from the card, " we are ready to answer your call! You must fight!"
Though he wasn't sure what the voice meant, he knew what he had to do. He grabbed his Duel Disc and ran out the door.
"Hold up Yuge! You can't…" Joey began to protest as his own deck case began to glow.
"Do you intend to let him fight alone?" a male voice called to Joey as he pulled out the glowing card.
"Whoa, Flame Swordsman? Did you just…"
"We stand ready to fight beside you, Joey. You just need the courage to call us!" the voice came from the card.
"Alright, guess it can't hurt to try!" Joey shouted, grabbing his own disc, "right behind ya Yuge!"
"Wait for us!" Tea ordered as she and Tristan followed.
It didn't take long for Yami and Joey to reach the park and stand before the horde of other worldly terrors that were besieging their city.
"This is gonna work, right Yuge?" Joey asked nervously.
"Only one way to find out," Yami admitted, drawing a card from his deck, "come forth, DARK MAGICIAN!" To Yami's surprise, the Dark Magician suddenly materialized before him.
"Whoa, that don't look like a hologram!" Joey exclaimed.
"It isn't!" Yami declared, "Go, Difussion Wave Motion!" he commanded as his Dark Magician rose his staff and released pulses of magic energy that blew away a dozen or so beasts, drawing their attention to the duelists!
"Guess I better join in, then," Joey admitted, "help us out, RED-EYES BLACK DRAGON!" he called placing his Red-Eyes on his Duel Disc. He was pleased when his dragon materialized in the sky above him roaring angrily at the creatures below. "Let's go partner! INFERNO FIRE BLAST!" Joey shouted as Red-Eyes unleashed a burst of fire on the beasts!
Miles away, in the office of Kaiba Corporation, the company's CEO, Seto Kaiba was working at his desk when his little brother, Mokuba, suddenly burst in!
"What is is Mokuba?" Seto asked, noticing his brother was in a state of panic.
"You've gotta see this Seto!" Mokuba shouted, turning on the large tv on Kaiba's wall. Seto's eyes widened with shock as a news broadcast showed the unfolding battle between Yugi and Joey and the mysterious creatures!
"Yugi and Wheeler? What is this about?" Seto demanded. Just then, a familiar roar filled the office as a glow began to emit from the suitcase that held Kaiba's deck and duel disc!
"Was that…?" Mokuba began to ask as Seto opened the suitcase. Kaiba would know that roar anywhere and as he pulled out the glowing card, the roar once again filled the office. The iconic roar of the card he was holding. The Blue Eyes White Dragon.
"Great," he sighed in annoyance as he rose to his feet, slipped on his Duel Disc, and slid his deck into place, "here we go again."
Dark Magician and Red-Eyes Black Dragon were both locked in a fierce battle between an overwhelming number of creatures as Yami pulled two more cards from his deck.
"Come to your master's aid, Dark Magician Girl and Apprentice Illusion Magician!" he commanded as he placed the two alongside his Dark Magician. As Dark Magician had, the two female magicians appeared as well.
"We're ready to fight by your side, Pharaoh!" Dark Magician Girl promised, bowing reverently to Yami.
"This one's gonna be tricky," Apprentice Illusion Magician admitted looking over the horde of monsters before them.
"That may be true," Dark Magician admitted as he blasted another monster with Dark Magic, "but remember that we are Magicians. There is no trick we can not pull off."
"Whoa, hold on! They talk!" Joey exclaimed in surprise.
"Rude," Apprentice Illusion Magician scolded, "of course we can talk."
"Now I see," Yami admitted, "these are the duel spirits of our decks." Dark Magician Girl nodded in confirmation.
"Alright, Red-Eyes, whataya say we bring some more help to tha party!?" Joey called out drawing two more cards, "Like Flame Swordsman and Gearfried, the Red Eyes Iron Knight!" he called, playing two Warriors who appeared shoulder to shoulder with Dark Magician.
Flame Swordsman nodded to Dark Magician before looking up at the sky. "He's here as well?"
"He who?" Joey asked, visibly confused. Flame Swordsman answered by simply pointing to the sky. Yami and Joey both looked to the sky. A small figure flew high in the sky, but was flying towards the duelists with impressive speed. As it drew closer, Yami was able to make out the white form mere moments before its familiar roar filled his ears.
"Blue Eyes White Dragon!?" he exclaimed in shock as the Blue Eyes unleashed its White Lightning on the horde of creatures. It landed with a crash in front of Dark Magician, growling menacingly at Yugi's ace monster.
"Believe me, the feeling is mutual," Dark Magician admitted, pointing his staff at the monsters, but for now, we have a common enemy to battle."
"So what is this, Yugi? More of your ancient Egyptian hogwash?" Kaiba demanded as he approached the two.
"Not this time, Kaiba," Yami revealed, "honestly, I have no idea what we're facing this time."
"That's just great. Why is it I always seem to get dragged into you fools' problems?"
"Oh yeah!? I don't recall anyone asking' you ta be here rich boy!" Joey shouted angrily.
"Keep it up, Wheeler. Maybe your incessant barking will scare them off. I doubt you'll be useful for much else."
"Why you…" Joey growled, "we'll show you, right Red Eyes!" Red Eyes Black Dragon roared his approval!
"This is insufferable," Apprentice Illusion Magician sighed in annoyance, placing the palm of her hand against her head.
"Kaiba is… difficult," Dark Magician Girl admitted, "but we need his help, and you two need to stow the hostility and help us! You are the two strongest here!" she lectured Blue Eyes White Dragon and Dark Magician, who nodded in understanding.
"Yugi, did you know your Magician Girls are talking?" Kaiba demanded.
"It's been an… unusual day, Kaiba," Yami admitted.
Solomon Moto was watching with some relief as Kaiba joined Joey and his grandson. The old man wished he could help somehow, but he didn't know what he could do. A noise drew his attention to the stairs up to Yugi's room.
The pink haired girl stood, leaning against the wall to support herself as her injuries made it difficult for her to stand.
"No… they… followed me!?" she cried weakly.
"Hey now, you shouldn't be up! You're still hurt!" Solomon protested, running to the girl's side.
"My deck… where is it?" she begged as Solomon Muto led her to the living room couch.
"Rest here, I'll fetch it!" the old man promised, leaving her to watch the fight progress on the tv.
"Can anyone hear me? Please… I need help…"
"BIG SHIELD GARDNA!" Yami shouted, calling forth Big Shield Gardna to block an attack intended for Dark Magician Girl!
"Pharaoh!" Dark Magician shouted, "I need more power."
"I understand! Activate Dark Magic Ritual!" Yami replied, playing his ritual spell. A blinding light engulfed Dark Magician! "Go, Dark Evolution! Emerge, Magician of Black Chaos!" he ordered as the powered up Magician emerged from the light. "Now, activate Black Luster Ritual! Gaia, the Fierce Knight, come forth and evolve!" he shouted as Gaia appeared on the field and was engulfed in light, "arise, Black Luster Soldier!" he ordered as Black Luster Soldier leapt from the light and landed beside Magician of Black Chaos!
"Activate Polymerization!" Kaiba shouted playing a spell, "if you thought one Blue Eyes was bad news, you'll have no hope against three! Especially combined into the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon!" he shouted as two additional Blue Eyes appeared and fused into the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon!
"Let's end this quickly!" Yami ordered.
Just as he said that, a sound like thunder pierced the heavens and a streak of red light appeared then formed into the Crimson Dragon!
"What the heck is that thing!?" Joey panicked.
"It can't be!" Yami exclaimed as two figures emerged from the dragon. A smile crossed Yami's face as Elemental Hero Neos landed just behind his Magician and Soldier as Stardust Dragon soared above them! "It is them!"
The Crimson Dragon flew close to the ground and Yusei's Duel Runner roared out of it, Yusei Fudo driving as Jaden Yuki rode behind. Yusei hadn't even completely stopped yet when Jaden jumped from it, landing nimbly on his feet.
"Sorry to keep you waitin' Yugi!" he shouted, "alright, time to throw down, Neos!"
"Friends of yours, Yuge?" Joey asked.
"I'll explain later," Yami promised, "for now, we need to win this fight!"
"Please, if anyone can hear me, I need help," the pink haired woman pleaded as she propped herself against Solomon Muto's chair and watched the continuing newsfeed of the continuing battle.
"I hear you, Val…" a woman's voice called weakly in her head.
"Silphia? Is that you?" Valeria gasped, nearly falling off of the chair, "thank goodness, you're okay."
"Okay is a strong word," Silphia admitted, "I'm in bad shape, and my hair and clothes are a mess, but I'm alive, and I found help. Just sit tight, okay."
"I don't have much choice there," Valeria admitted, "I can barely move."
The monsters' ranks had begun to thin, but there were still plenty to deal with as the duelists and their monsters regrouped to face them.
Gearfried, the Red Eyes Iron Knight charged head long into the monsters, taking down several before a lucky blow caused it to explode!
"Gearfried!" Joey shouted in dismay.
"It's alright," Flame Swordsman promised, "Duel Spirits can not be fully killed, but should we fall in battle, it takes time for us to regain our strength. Weaker spirits can replenish their strength in about an hour, though more powerful ones can take as long as 24."
"Do not be afraid to use us as you need," Magician of Black Chaos ordered the duelists. "For us to fall is inconsequential. For you to fall would be a different matter."
"I… I understand," Yami admitted hesitantly.
"Huh," Dark Magician Girl gasped suddenly.
"Something else is coming!" Apprentice Illusion Magician revealed.
"Whoa, like more help from the future?" Jaden asked excitedly.
"I don't think so," Dark Magician Girl admitted, "this one is… different."
"Different how?" Joey asked. As if to answer his question, 9 golden lights appeared between the duelists and the enemy monsters.
There was a blinding flash of light as the orbs burst, and when the light faded, the duelists could see that five newcomers had joined the fray.
Silphia, the golden haired princess, was on her hands and knees, gasping for breath as Nami and Tony Tony Chopper knelt beside her, while in front of them, Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Franky, Brook, Usopp, and Nico Robin faced the sinister creatures.
"We… made it," Silphia gasped.
"Take it easy, you're still hurt," Nami warned her.
"So these're the guys huh?" Luffy asked, "they don't look so tough."
"Thank goodness, you made it!" a woman's voice called out. Valeria was being supported by Tristan and followed by Tea and Solomon. All 4 wore duel discs, though Valeria's while similar in design to Yugi's group's, had pink rather then blue card slots.
"Val! You're… okay," Silphia cried as her strength failed her and she collapsed.
"She's out cold," Chopper revealed, checking her over, "she used all her energy bringing us here."
"Then we better make sure it was worth it," Luffy declared, placing one fist against the ground while using the other to compress his rubber legs like a pump. His body developed a red glow and steam began to emerge from it as the blood in his body began to flow more rapidly. "SECOND GEAR!" he shouted, vanishing from sight. Six monsters were sent flying as Luffy reappeared where they had been.
Several more fell to a blade assault from Zoro as yet more fell to Sanji's savage kicks. Two tried to advance, but stopped cold as a pellet shot into each's mouth.
"TABASCO STAR!" Usopp shouted as the monsters seemed to turn completely red as the heat from the sniper's sauce filled stars set their mouths ablaze. Luckily for them, their pain was short lived, as two arms each grew from their backs and wrapped around their heads, snapping their necks with little effort.
"Yeah! Get 'em!" Nami shouted, only to let out a shriek as a monster slipped behind her friends and charged her, Silphia, and Chopper!
"CHAOS BLADE STRIKE!" Yami ordered as his Black Luster Soldier charged and quickly cut down the attacking monster.
"Better not forget about us! Show 'em why, Flame Swordsman!" Joey ordered as Flame Swordsman charged into the fray!
The heroes were rapidly thinning the monster horde when a yellow gem suddenly crashed into the ground between the remaining creatures. Valeria felt her blood run cold as the remaining monsters were absorbed into the gem which cracked and burst, releasing a cloud of black smoke.
As the heroes watched, the black smoke became solid and four, leg like appendages grew from the bottom of it, allowing it to stand on the ground. A mouth full of razor sharp teeth opened on the side of the thing facing them as a dozen eyes opened all across the thing's body, their solid black irises darting about in all directions as if it were getting its bearings.
"Not good," Valeria stuttered fearfully, "I don't think we can beat this thing!"
"What is it?" Tristan asked.
"This creature…" Yami growled, glaring at the thing, "in terms of power, we're no match."
"We have to run!" Valeria warned, "find someone strong enough to…!"
"No!" Yami shouted in response, "we're taking it down here!"
"What!? How!?"
"It looks tough, but it seems kind of brainless to me," Jaden admitted.
"You're one to talk," Yubel teased him.
"I agree with Jaden," Yusei admitted, "and strength without strategy is an empty threat."
"GUM GUM BULLET!" Luffy roared suddenly, charging the creature and landing a powerful blow into one of its eyes, making it roar with anger.
"Probably best not to leave strategy to that guy," Yusei admitted.
"I'd advise against it," Nami sighed as Luffy jumped back, "strategy isn't Luffy's strong point."
The monster opened its mouth and fired a blast of red light at Luffy as a counter attack!
"Crap crap crap!" Luffy shouted as the attack encroached on him! Moving quickly, Elemental Hero Neos got between him and the blast!
"Go, Hero Barrier!" Jaden shouted, activating a card that formed a barrier around Neos. The blast hit the barrier, shattering it, but dissipating the attack leaving Neos and Luffy unharmed.
"I have a plan!" Yami revealed, "Dark Magician Girl, I need you to bait it's attack!"
"On it!" Dark Magician Girl called back as Apprentice Illusion Magician landed beside her, "help me out!"
"I'm with you!" Apprentice Illusion Magician replied as the two Magician Girls pointed their rods together at the creature.
"DOUBLE DARK BURNING ATTACK!" they shouted simultaneously as they fired a massive blast of magic into another of the creature's eyes, causing it to release another furious roar. Once again, it opened its mouth and fired a blast at the two Magician Girls!
"Activate Magic Cylinder!" Yami shouted , activating a card that caused two cylinders to appear. One held by Dark Magician Girl and one by Apprentice Illusion Magician! Dark Magician Girl held her cylinder in front of her, absorbing the blast into it.
"Luffy! Can you strike again!" Yami shouted.
"Do you have to ask!" Luffy shouted, planting his feet as his arm stretched in the opposite direction of the creature, twisting itself as it did.
"Pharaoh!" Magician of Black Chaos called, passing through a purple flame and reverting to Dark Magician.
"I know! Activate Dark Spiral Force!"
"Jaden!" Yubel shouted.
"Way ahead of ya! Go, Neo Spiral Force!"
The monster fired a blast to attack Luffy preemptively, but an iron Scarecrow took the blast for Luffy!
"You won't get past my Scrap-Iron Scarecrow!" Yusei vowed as Dark Magician and Elemental Hero Neos released energy attacks that converged on Luffy's fist just as it began to rocket back at the monster. A spiral of white and black light appeared around Luffy's arm as it began spinning like a drill!
"GUM GUM RIFLE!" Luffy shouted -as the combined attack slammed into the creature, its power quadrupled by Yugi and Jaden's efforts. The blow was enough to stagger the powerful brute!
"WHITE LIGHTNING!"
"INFERNO FIRE BLAST!"
"COSMIC FLARE!"
Blue-Eyes, Red-Eyes, and Stardust Dragon all unleashed their attacks on the beast dropping it to it's stomach as Apprentice Illusion Magician jumped above it, pointing her cylinder at it.
"FIRE!" Yami ordered as the attack absorbed into Dark Magician Girl's cylinder now burst forth from Apprentice Illusion Magician's.
The creature was completely helpless to defend itself as it was obliterated by its own attack!
Valeria could only stare in wide-eyed, open mouthed shock.
"They… beat it!"
