The Ruby Rose chapter. It's...not as sweet and fluffy as you guys might think. I needed a way to differentiate her from Velvet and I succeeded...to my horror. We'll see how you guys like it.

Most people also agreed to leave the character to just Denji, Nayuta and Kobeni, somewhat surprisingly. So I'll follow the trend. Too bad, I was kinda hoping to write Weiss having to babysit Vale councilwoman and nobel prize winner Power who implemented the one hundred percent sales tax.

Also, just as a heads up, I re-wrote the end of chapter 2 to make it a bit more similar to V2 Denji. And arguably funnier. Check it out.

Ruby Rose was faced with a conundrum.

She was currently hanging out with Denji, last name unknown. Well, technically his full name of the papers was Denji Hayakawa, but apparently he only did that cause the headmaster insisted he needed a last name to put on it.

What was the problem? Well, the first was that her team didn't like him. Weiss was holding a grudge ever since he asked her to introduce him to Winter, Blake was being a weirdo because he had seven dogs (as if that was a problem!), and Yang was, for some reason, super scared of the guy. Alright, so he turned to a bladed monstrosity and spilled more blood than a meat piñata, but so what? They were training to fight the literal embodiments of darkness and despair. What was a little blood and guts?

The second problem was...

Well, she had to start from the beginning. Ruby had always been different from her peers. While Yang was a social butterfly, Ruby was content to stay in her room tinkering with her weapons. That wasn't to say Ruby didn't like making friends - she wouldn't have hypnotized Weiss to be her super bestie better than the restie, complete with matching outfits, if she was some kind of weird loner - but she always believed in quality over quantity.

She especially believed that when it came to weapons. Huntsmen were attached to their weapons on principle because, at the end of the day, it was the only thing you could rely on when the chips were down. But even by Huntsmen standards Ruby was a bit...obsessed. Hey, it wasn't her fault the rest of her friends couldn't see how amazing and fun disassembling a weapon was and seeing how it all worked.

Which was why she found Denji just so fascinating. He didn't have a weapon, but unlike Yang or dad it wasn't because he used his fists for everything. He was the weapon, and gosh did that sound so awesome! How amazing would it be if Crescent Rose was a part of her? No need to put her in a dark locker all alone; they could always be together and the badguys would weep! Weep, she said!

But now she just had to ask him one thing...

Ruby knocked on the door and was immediately greeted with Nayuta's quiet gaze looking up at her. Yang was scared of her too, and Ruby had to roll her eyes at that. Seriously, her sister was being a bigger scaredy cat than the actual cat on their team.

The ten(?) year old girl held up both hands. At first glance someone would've mistaken it as someone asking for a hug, but Ruby knew better. Nayuta was a girl after her own heart, "Here you go!" Ruby chirped and handed her the pouch full of cookies.

"Thank you." Nayuta turned and walked back into the room, allowing herself to be babysat. Ruby followed her inside and shut the door behind her. She didn't really know what to make of the girl. When Denji had begged their teams for help babysitting because he needed to take his pets to the vet she'd agreed because it was the right thing to do. Not to mention the rest of her team still being weird, so really she was the only option.

Ruby sat and played with the girl for the next few hours. Not video games, apparently Nayuta found those boring. No, she liked those really annoying study games about trivia and history. Weiss would've been better for this, but she still held a grudge against Denji. Yeesh, what was the big deal? People asked her to introduce them to Yang all the time back in Signal and she didn't get mad. Much.

It was a little past six pm when Denji finally arrived with all his pets in tow, "Yo, I'm home." Nayuta immediately stood up and hugged her bi...actually, she didn't know what to call them. Denji called her a 'sorta friend, sorta little sister' and didn't really elaborate more than that. Whatever their relationship was, it was clear the younger girl cared deeply about Denji and he did her. It was sweet.

"Welcome back," Ruby beamed.

"Hey. Thanks again for babysittin' her." He patted Nayuta's head.

"It's not a problem. Wanna play some videogames?"

"Sure."

Thirty minutes later and they were playing one of her favorites. Call of Atlas: The War of Remnant. Personally she though the story kinda sucked and obviously biased to Atlas, but the gameplay was fun.

"Hey, on your left!" Denji said.

"I got it!" She turned her player character and sniped the one trying to sneak up on them, "Ha, headshot!" she whooped.

"Nice!" Denji grinned then cursed when someone tossed a grenade at his foot, "Shit, shit, move- ah, damn it!" Ruby giggled as his avatar exploded in a pile of gore. She warned him the game was hard, especially since he insisted on the multiplayer, but he said he could handle it. Yeah...so far she had to carry his poor butt. He wasn't as bad at it as Weiss, but he was almost there.

From behind them, Nayuta played with the dogs while the cat lazily slept on top of the biggest dog's stomach. She wished she brought Zwei with her, but Weiss was being a butt and said that she needed some cuddles. Greedy.

They played long into the night and it was only when she got a text message from Yang worriedly asking if she was alright that she realized how much time passed, "Woah, it's that late?" Her scroll said it was half an hour past nine. They'd been playing for three hours, "Guess time flies when you're having fun!"

"Yeah." He laughed in turn, "Thanks again for watching out for Nayuta."

"It's no problem. I know what it's like to be the little sis who needs someone else in the house." Even though she was totally mature, thank you very much. So what if she'd eaten their entire pantry of strawberries and whipped cream when they left her alone? She only did that six times! "Call me up if you need help again," she said as they walked out.

"You sure? It ain't a bother or nothin'?"

"Nope!" she said, popping the P.

"Heh, cool." He smiled down at her, "Oh yeah, what do I owe ya?"

She almost waved off any offer of payment automatically before she stopped. This...This was her chance, wasn't it? And there was nothing wrong with just asking, was there?

"So, um, when you transform in fights...those chainsaws, do they get all the way in your body?"

"Uh...yeah?" Denji tilted his head to the side, obviously confused by the sudden change in topic.

"And your head turns into a biomechanical construct with wires, so th-that means you have internal components, right? To make sure the blades and chains work?"

"I...guess?"

Oh gosh, that was so...hot! A human weapon both on the inside and out! It was the sexiest thing on Remnant; better than any of Blake's stupid smut books or the places Weiss went to in incognito mode. Ruby squirmed on the spot and bit her lower lip, face flushed as she shifted from one foot to another. She just had to ask, she had to! There was no way she could leave it like this!

So she asked.

"Can I dissect you?!"

Most people, when asked by a girl with a scythe taller than she was if she could dissect them would run for the hills. Denji just tilted his head to the side again and looked more confused than anything else, so she continued.

"N-Not kill you, if that's what you're thinking!" she said in a rush, "W-We were taught how to dissect frogs back at Signal and then I did a little reading up on my own." A pause, "N-Not that I practiced on animals or anything either! That's wrong and I'm not some kind of serial killer! But, like, I have a general idea of what to do and it can't be that different from a frog, right?!"

"Uh...huh?"

"I heard from Blake that you can survive as long as you have blood! I can get that! Blood packs, I mean." Gosh, she was sounding like a psycho, wasn't she? "I-I just...I really wanna know how all that stuff works! You're the first ever biomechanical lifeform on Remnant! Not someone with robot limbs like General Ironwood, but like a legit human weapon! That's so amazing!"

"So...you wanna cut me open to find out what makes me tick?"

"I...guess that was a really stupid thing to ask, huh?" Ruby looked down at the ground and kicked her boots despondendly.

"I don't mind." She looked up with wide eyes at his casual shrug, "Least you asked first, right? But, uh, don't wanna do it here cause Nayu's in there. You got a-"

"Oh, I know just the place!" Ruby gushed and jumped excitely. Oh, but first she had to get her tools, the bloodpacks and that giant tub of horse tranquilizer. Good thing she came prepared! This was gonna be so awesome!

...

...

...

It was near midnight when Yang Xiao Long decided enough was enough. Ruby was still out and she wasn't answering her scroll at all! That was super suspicious!

Okay, so maybe Denji wasn't a bad guy and she was just scared cause he had freaking chainsaws coming out of his arms, and he'd definitely saved both Weiss and Blake, but that didn't mean she wanted her sister alone with him at night! What if they were doing something lewd like...like holding hands?! No, Ruby was too innocent and pure! She couldn't let her be corrupted!

Good thing all their scrolls had a tracking function; standard for any Huntress in the field. Yang walked with a purpose towards the empty storage room, eyes red and hair blazing. Her hand rested on the doorknob and she stopped when he heard Ruby's voice, "W-Wow, it's so big! How does that fit in there?!"

"Not sure how this really works, Ruby."

"C-Can I touch it?"

"Sure."

"W-Wow, it's so hot! That must be where all the energy comes from, huh? L-Let's see what happens if I move my hand up and down-

Oh, hell no!

Yang kicked down the door and had a Big Sister Speech of Overprotective Wrath prepared...until she saw what exactly was inside. Denji lying down on the ground in his monstrous form, arms and legs spread with all his limbs and head bound to the floor. And right on top of him was Ruby, her hands (and everything...) caked in blood. In her right hand was a bloody scalpel and she had a look of utter glee on her face. Denji's torso was cut open, showing off his still moving innards as Ruby oohed and ahhed.

Then they both turned to look at her.

Yang screamed and screamed and screamed and run away, tears in her eyes and all anger forgotten.

Ruby blinked at the sight of Yang's retreating back, "What's with her?" Denji asked. The horse tranquilizers didn't put him to sleep, but he said they still helped.

"No idea." Ruby shrugged and rubbed her right cheek, spreading even more blood on the pale skin.

"So where to next?"

"Ooh, let's try the heaad! I wanna see what your skull looks like!"

"Whatever floats your boat, Red."

Yeah...Ruby's kinda crazy. At least she asks for consent before trying to disembowel you, so that's something. Denji's cool with it.

Anyway, we've finally finshed all the main RWBY girls lineup. Now we can branch out. Where to next? Denji meeting Winter? Blake getting the unwanted attention of Nayuta and the doggo horde? Kobeni's unlucky existence as Cinder's indentured servant? Not sure. Didn't really think the story would get this far considering I made the first chapter for shits and giggles.

Gimme your thoughts on this chapter and where you'd like to go next. I'm also considering plans to have Pochita return in a physical body or Asa Mitaka also being isekaied and putting in an appearance for just one chapter.
