"Hold on!" Yugi pleaded with the enraged stranger, "we're not with…"
"Duel Academy… you will all pay for your crimes!" the stranger hissed, proving Yugi's pleas to be pointless.
"He's not going to listen, Yugi," Ichigo reasoned, readying to fight, "I don't know what's going on, but we're going to have to…"
"I've got no idea who you are, pal," Jaden admitted excitedly, "or what your beef is with Duel Academy, but if you're looking to throw down, then I'm always game. Can't let Yugi have all the fun."
"Jaden, this guy is furious," Ichigo cautioned, "we don't know what he'll do!"
"It's cool, bro," Jaden declared confidently, his excitement quickly and clearly growing, "alright, friend, get your game on!"
"Do NOT call me your friend," the stranger hissed, "Duel Academy has destroyed so much, killed so many, ruined so many lives…" a black energy field emerged from the strangers disc as Jaden activated his, "so yes, Slifer duelist, 'get your game on'. I will be your end."
DUEL BEGIN
STRANGER: 4000 LP
JADEN YUKI: 4000 LP
"Duel Mode Engaged," the stranger hissed, as Yami noticed his eyes developed a red glow.
STRANGER'S TURN (Hand: 5, LP: 4000)
JADEN YUKI (Hand: 5, LP: 4000)
The stranger looked over his opening hand before grabbing three cards.
I set two cards face down, then I summon Ally of Justice: Core Destroyer!" he declared as he made his play.
ALLY OF JUSTICE: CORE DESTROYER (Level: 3, Machine/Effect, Attack: 1200, Defense: 200)
"Whoa, I've never seen a monster like that before," Jaden admitted.
"Neither have I," Yugi admitted, "be careful, Jae. We don't know what to expect from this guy."
"Got it," Jaden replied, "MY TURN!"
JADEN YUKI'S TURN (Hand: 6, LP: 4000)
STRANGER (Hand: 2, LP: 4000)
"Alright, let's get this show started!" Jaden declared, "I summon the Elemental HERO Sparkman!" he shouted, summoning his Elemental HERO.
ELEMENTAL HERO SPARKMAN (Level: 4, Warrior, Attack: 1600, Defense: 1400)
"Alright, time to throw down!" Jaden declared confidently, "SPARKMAN ATTACK CORE DESTROYER!"
On Jaden's order, Sparkman unleashed a surge of lightning that struck Core Destroyer. Unfortunately, and to everyone's surprise, the lightning was absorbed and then rebounded, destroying Sparkman!
"What happened!?"
"When Ally of Justice: Core Destroyer attacks or is attacked by a Light attribute monster, that creature is destroyed," the stranger revealed, prompting a nervous reaction from Jaden.
"Well, crap. Guess I walked into that one," Jaden admitted.
"That's not fair. There's no way Jaden could have known about that monster's ability," Ichigo protested.
"All the more reason to exercise caution in attacking," Yugi lamented, "but don't worry. Jaden will overcome this.
"I'll set three face down cards and end my turn!" Jaden declared, setting cards.
STRANGER'S TURN (Hand: 3, LP: 4000)
JADEN YUKI (Hand: 2, LP: 4000)
"I suppose I should not have expected more from a Slifer," the stranger taunted as he drew his card, "but don't expect mercy from me! I summon forth the tuner monster, Ally of Justice: Cyclone Creator!"
ALLY OF JUSTICE: CYCLONE CREATOR (Level: 3, Machine/Tuner/Effect, Attack: 1400, Defense: 1200)
"Uh oh," Jaden cursed, "a tuner! Guess that means…"
"He's using a Synchro deck," Yugi realized.
"You mean like Yusei's?" Ichigo questioned.
"It's the same kind of summoning method Yusei uses," Yugi answered.
"You following any of this?" Naruto asked Luffy.
"Not a word," Luffy admitted.
"Now, I activate Cyclone Creator's special ability by discarding one card," the stranger declared, sending a card from his hand to the graveyard, "then, for every tuner monster on the field, I can return one spell or trap card on the field to its owner's hand!" he declared. Cyclone Creator began flapping its wings, creating a cyclone that blew one of Jaden's face down cards back to his hand.
"Uh oh!" Jaden exclaimed as he added the card back to his hand!
"Your suffering has only just begun!" the stranger declared, "reveal Call of the Haunted!"
"Huh? I haven't destroyed any of your monsters, which must mean…" Jaden realized.
"He discarded one!" Yugi exclaimed.
"Rise, Ally of Justice: Thousand Arms!" the stranger roared, as his final monster appeared.
ALLY OF JUSTICE: THOUSAND ARMS (Level: 4, Machine/Effect, Attack: 1700, Defense: 0)
"Not good," Ichigo cursed, "if those three monsters all attack…"
"If all three of those attacks hit Jaden, he'll lose," Yugi admitted.
1700 + 1400 + 1200 = 4300
"It would seem the Slifer class is even more pathetic then I had realized. Take comfort in knowing you will only be trapped in a card until it is time to answer for your crimes!"
"Don't get to far ahead of yourself," Jaden warned, "I activate the trap card, Threatening Roar!"
"No!" the stranger cursed angrily.
"Thanks to this Trap, you can't conduct your battle phase this turn!" Jaden declared, pleased with having stopped his opponents gloating in its tracks, wiping the victorious smirk right off of the stranger's face.
"Damn you. Seems I should have given Slifer more credit," the stranger cursed.
"Games not over until the last card's played, bro," Jaden declared proudly.
"No, I suppose not," the stranger agreed, "but know this. Your final card draws near! Behold! I SYNCHRO SUMMON! Cyclone Creator tunes Core Destroyer and Thousand Arms to create an ultimate new power! I SYNCHRO SUMMON ALLY OF JUSTICE: DECISIVE ARMOR!" the stranger called out as his three monsters merged together, summoning the powerful new monster!
ALLY OF JUSTICE: DECISIVE ARMOR (Level: 10, Machine/Synchro/Effect, Attack: 3300, Defense: 3300)
"Whoa! That's a pretty tough monster," Jaden admitted, looking up at the powerful foe that he now faced!
"Yugi, Jaden can take that thing down, right?" Ichigo asked the experienced duelist.
"We'll know on the next turn," Yugi admitted, confidently.
"Alright, my turn! DRAW!" Jaden shouted, drawing a card.
JADEN YUKI'S TURN (Hand: 4, LP: 4000)
STRANGER (Hand: 1, LP: 4000)
Jaden quickly looked over his hand, determining his plan of action.
"Alright, first things first, let's throw back down my face down," Jaden declared, placing the card that had been returned to his hand back on the field.
It's a start, he heard Yubel admit, but, for now, we have no real way of destroying a monster with 3300 attack points.
"We can stall him, though," Jaden admitted, "thanks to the HERO Barrier card I just placed on the field. I just need an Elemental Hero to use it, and I know just the one! Jaden declared confidently, pulling one of his three remaining cards from his hand.
"HOW'S THIS! I'm activating the Spell Card, CARD DESTRUCTION!" Jaden shouted, "now, we both discard every card in our hands, then redraw that same number from our decks!"
"I fail to see how this is going to help you," the Stranger hissed as the two players discarded and drew.
"You're not the only one who can discard cards so he can summon from the graveyard!" Jaden declared, smirking as his second Face-down card flipped up, "I ACTIVATE O-OVER SOUL!" Jaden declared, "now, I can summon a non-effect Elemental HERO from my graveyard, such as my recently discarded Elemental HERO: NEOS!"
Well done Jaden. Hero Barrier can block his Decisive Armor's attack and Neos should be more then able to withstand anything else he can summon, Yubel congratulated the Slifer Duelist.
"Don't pat yourself on the back just yet," the Stranger warned, drawing.
STRANGER'S TURN (Hand: 2, LP: 4000)
JADEN YUKI (Hand: 2, LP: 4000)
"I activate Decisive Armor's special ability!"
"Uh oh, not sure I like the sound of that!" Jaden admitted.
"Since you have a Light attribute monster on your field, by discarding one card from my hand, I can destroy every card in your Spell and Trap card zones!" the Stranger revealed, discarding his card as Jaden's spells and traps were all destroyed!
"Uh oh! I was right, that really didn't sound good!"
"Next, I activate the Spell card, Monster Reborn!" the Stranger shouted, holding up his Monster Reborn card to show Jaden before playing it.
"I think I know where this is going," Jaden cursed.
"Return to the field, ALLY OF JUSTICE: CORE DESTROYER!" the Stranger roared as Core Destroyer returned to his field."
"Crap! That's the card that destroyed Jaden's Sparkman!" Ichigo realized.
"It can destroy any Light attribute monster it battles with," Yugi hissed, "including Neos!"
"We'll, that's not good," Jaden admitted, nervously.
"Certainly not for you!" the stranger declared, pointing his hand at Neos, "ATTACK, CORE DESTROYER!"
Jaden held up his arms to protect his face as Neos was destroyed by Core Destroyer, leaving Jaden wide open to what came next!
"ALLY OF JUSTICE; DECISIVE ARMOR ATTACKS DIRECTLY!" the stranger roared as Decisive Armor opened fire on the vulnerable Jaden, blowing the Slifer duelist flat on to his back!
JADEN YUKI: (4000 LP — 700 LP)
Ichigo reached and grabbed Zangetsu's hilt, but Yugi held out his arm, preventing the substitute Soul Reaper from rushing to his companion's aid!
"No!" Yugi ordered, "trust Jaden, Ichigo, and let him finish this!"
"But…" Ichigo protested
"I know our way of handling things is odd to you, Ichigo, but there is a rule that every great duelist lives by," Yugi revealed, "the duel isn't over until the last card is played. Until that card is played, this is Jaden's battle. That, I'm certain, is an idea you can understand."
Ichigo let out a sigh as he released Zangetsu's hilt. "Yeah, it is," he admitted, "alright Yugi, let's see how this plays out.
Yugi nodded gratefully before looking back to Jaden who had risen to his knees and was looking back at them. With a smile and a thumbs up, he rose to his feet and returned his focus to the duel ahead of him.
"This isn't looking good," Jaden admitted, "but I'm a bit like Goku in the fact that the worse things look, the more excited I get! I DRAW!"
"Does everyone in our group just get more excited when things are at their worst?" Ichigo sighed in defeat.
"Why not?" Luffy asked, "that's when things really get exciting!"
JADEN YUKI'S TURN (Hand: 3, LP: 700)
STRANGER (Hand: 1, LP: 4000)
"Perfect, I'll start my comeback with this! POT OF GREED! This spell card let's me draw two cards from my deck!" Jaden declared, drawing his two cards. (Hand: 4)
"Draw as many cards as you desire. It will not help you," the stranger promised. His confidence seemed to falter when Jaden flashed an excited smile.
"I wouldn't count on that!" Jaden declared, grabbing three cards, "I ACTIVATE POLYMERIZATION! Elemental Hero: Avian fuses with Elemental Hero: Burstinatrix!" he called as Avian and Burstinatrix appeared on the field. "I FUSION SUMMON ELEMENTAL HERO: FLAME WINGMAN!"
ELEMENTAL HERO: FLAME WINGMAN (Level: 6, Warrior/Fusion/Effect, Attack: 2100, Defense: 1200)
"That is your big comeback plan?" the stranger declared, almost mockingly, "I suppose I should not have expected more from a Slifer duelist."
"Bet you didn't expect this from a 'Slifer duelist'!" Jaden declared with a smile as he showed off the last card in his hand, "ELEMENTAL HERO: HONEST NEOS!"
"Honest Neos?"
"That's what I said," Jaden replied, "by discarding this card from my hand, I can increase the attack of any HERO monster by 2500!" he revealed, sending the card to his graveyard as Flame Wingman's attack jumped.
ELEMENTAL HERO: FLAME WINGMAN (Attack: 2100 — 4600)
"What! Impossible!"
"Not really," Jaden replied, "kind of like how it's not impossible for my Flame Wingman to take out your Decisive Armor!" he shouted. Flame Wingman responded instantly to the order, leaping at and punching a hole through Decisive Armor!
"Damn you," the stranger cursed as his Life Points dropped. STRANGER (LP: 4000 — 2700) "This isn't enough to save you!"
"Sure it is," Jaden replied, "when Flame Wingman destroys a monster by battle, that monster's attack points are dealt to my opponent's Life Points!"
"What! No!" the stranger exclaimed in dismay as his Decisive Armor exploded!
ALLY OF JUSTICE: DECISIVE ARMOR (Attack: 3300)
