RE:BIRTH

OPENING THEME: HOLOGRAM (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood)

Isara was all to well aware that it was difficult to be optimistic about their chances. Obelisk Force had decimated most of the other worlds of Fusion Dimension, as well as most of the XYZ Dimension. More then half of their fighters had battled this enemy before, and been utterly defeated, powerless to keep their foe from trapping anyone they didn't outright kill in cards. This battle was hopeless.

Yet, you wouldn't have known it based on the war cry that rose up from Planeptune's warriors, nor from the boldness with which Kenshiro and Nepgear led them to their inevitable deaths.

An overeager Obelisk soldier was the first to square off with Kenshiro.

"ANCIENT GEAR SOLDIER!" the duelist soldier shouted as one of his mechanical soldiers appeared between the road warrior and himself.

"You're mechanical soldier won't be enough to protect you," Kenshiro declared stoically, "you should run while you can."

"Bit early for Halloween, isn't it?" the soldier mocked. Kenshiro didn't even dignify the insult with a response, instead assuming a fighting stance. "Ohoho! You're actually going to fight my Ancient Gear Soldier!?"

Kenshiro didn't utter a word in response. Instead, he stepped forward and let his actions speak louder then his words.

"ATATATATATATATATA!" he screeched as hundreds of lightning quick blows landed on the Ancient Gear Soldier in a matter of moments.

When Kenshiro ceased his attack, the Obelisk Force soldier stared in complete confusion. His Soldier seemed completely unharmed. Kenshiro hadn't seemed to do any damage at all.

"That's it? Heh, this is going to be easier then I thought. You didn't even scratch my soldier!"

"Your Soldier is already dead," Kenshiro declared, stepping back.

"What?" the Obelisk soldier asked, genuinely confused by his foes statement. The confusion shifted to utter terror as the Ancient Gear Soldier simply collapsed, quite literally falling to pieces as it's summoner watched in powerless horror, his mouth agape.

The Ancient Gear Soldier collapsed into hundreds of pieces of scrap metal before vanishing into a cloud of smoke.

"D… don't get cocky just because you destroyed that soldier! Let's see you handle my ANCIENT GEAR GOLEM!" he shrieked, preparing to play a card. He felt Kenshiro landing a swift blow to his stomach and staggered backwards before his brain had even registered Ken's movements.

"The fight is over. You are already dead."

"N… no… you can't…" the soldier stammered in terror as his body began to bloat. His fear was swiftly ended when his entire body exploded into a spray of red mist.

"Hmm, very interesting. I'm curious as to how you escaped our notice before hand. I would have thought dealing with one like you would be of the highest priority. Two duelists were approaching Kenshiro far more casually then one would expect from anyone who had just witnessed a comrade be reduced to a gore pile by a single blow.

One man was a massive, brute of a man, as tall as Kenshiro himself, with a powerful square jaw, deep black eyes, and a bald head. His Obelisk uniform appeared poorly maintained with several rips and tears in the material.

The second figure, the one who had spoken, was a thin man of a far more average height. His jet black hair was long and well kept. By contrast to his companion, his uniform was perfectly maintained without even a thread out of place.

"No matter," the smaller man continued, "I suppose this simply means we have work to do."

"Heh, and here I thought there wouldn't be anyone fun to crush here!" the bigger man growled in a low but gleeful tone. "NOW! COME OUT ABC-DRAGON BUSTER!" the giant roared, summoning a powerful looking tank to confront Kenshiro!

"I was personally hoping to leave this one to the grunts, but I suppose it can't be helped," the original speaker sighed, shaking his head, "DESTROY HIM, EL SHADOLL CONSTRUCT!" he ordered, summoning a giant, puppet-like figure to face down Kenshiro.

Still Kenshiro remained silent. He seemed to have little he needed to say as he prepared to face his new opponents.

Kenshiro was far from the only one locked in battle.

The sky had quickly become the domain of the terrifying Ancient Gear Gadjitron Dragons and Ancient Gear Reactor Dragons summoned by Obelisk Force, but Lady Nepgear was doing her best to keep them at bay, and proving that her best was more then enough to even overcome this ferocious foes.

Every swing of her sword cleaved a mechanical dragon in half and sent it plummeting towards the earth, even if few actually hit the ground before exploding into clouds of smoke and vanishing.

One attacker struck from behind as one of its comrades fell, only to have a massive hole blown clean through its chest, dropping it. From the rooftops, Ruby Rose stood, her Crescent Rose scythe converted into its sniper rifle configuration as she used it to offer Nepgear as much support as possible while her sister, Yang, and the swordswoman, Tashigi, fought valiantly to protect her from Ancient Gear Hunting Hounds that were on the attack. Unfortunately, while the power game was in their favor for now, the numbers game was weighted almost hopelessly against them. It was only a matter of time before the tide turned against them.

"What do we do?" Isara wondered aloud from a rooftop vantage point. She had donned the power armor, though she still held the helmet in her hand as she surveyed the poorly progressing battle. Planeptune's soldiers were hopelessly outmatched as Ancient Gear Hunting Hounds and Soldiers tore through them like damp tissue paper, their summoners only slowing to trap those they didn't kill in cards.

Finally, it seemed one of the Obelisk soldiers had had his fill or tormenting the Planeptune soldiers, and an Ancient Gear Golem appeared, towering above all the fighters. It didn't last long as a concentrated shockwave shot past Isara, slamming into the Golem's chest, crushing it. Midoriya stood beside the Darcsen engineer, breathing heavily. He had his hand held forward and his pointer fingers pointed up as though he had just flicked a piece of paper at the Golem, though a piece of paper wouldn't have left his finger as mangled and visibly broken as it was. It wasn't the only one either, as the middle and ring finger of that hand were also noticeably broken. He was giving his all, but his power held a massive drawback, and at this rate, he'd hit his limit before long.

"See if the medics can do anything to help your injuries," she ordered as she pulled the helmet over her head and approached the rooftops edge, "we've got a long ways to go yet."

"I'm alright," Midoriya assured her, "I can fight through this pain." Isara had no desire to argue.

"Fine, but don't push it to far," she simply ordered before looking over the edge of the building and drew a deep breath. One more step and nothing but air would separate her from the ground a good 20 feet below.

"Well, Welks," she whispered reverently to herself, "I guess we'll see if I ever really got the hang of this whole flying thing."

She elected to jump completely clear of the rooftop, cutting off any potential hope she might have had to catch herself. Fortunately, she only fell a bit beyond 2 feet before a roar from her suits back filled her ears. Three booster rockets attached to the armor's back activated as did one on the sole of each boot. Isara felt butterflies well up in her stomach as her creation held level momentarily, then in utter defiance of the laws of gravity, ascended.

She quickly got to grips with the control system she had developed and tested over the course of several days. She felt the slightest hint of pride as her invention soared effortlessly. It had passed the flight test, now, the real test began. She leveled her cannon on an Ancient Gear Soldier, and the Edelweiss MK II scored its first shot, and its first kill.

Through the entire affair, Yuri's attention never drifted from the battle playing out beneath him, nor had the sadistic glint in his eye vanished as the heroes fought with everything they had.

This fight would be over soon. Yuri was about to make sure of that.

Before he began to act, however, his eyes widened with shock. A tall, slender figure hidden under a black cloak had appeared suddenly beside him. Yuri hadn't even noticed the figure's approach until it had appeared by his side.

Yuri's composure, however, returned quickly, alongside his sadistic smirk.

"Well, I wasn't expecting you to show up," he admitted.

"The goddess' energy may prove useful to us," the figure declared, "but I won't allow this pathetic excuse for an Alliance to spread its influence beyond this dimension."

"Hmm, I see," Yuri mused, "what a shame. I was hoping I'd get to have some fun."

"I've neither the time nor the patience for your 'fun'," the figure hissed, her voice thick with wrath, "watch closely, Yuri. Their fate will be yours if you ever cross me."

"Duly noted," Yuri admitted, the sadisticly playful edge leaving his voice. He'd be a fool to ever consider double crossing this woman. It would be a death sentence. He watched as she began moving towards the battlefield.

The valiant heroes, battling desperately against the odds, had no idea that their fates were irreversibly sealed.

On the battlefield, Isara had begun to entertain the possibility they could carry the day. Her armor was performing exactly as she'd hoped it would. If she had had access to this firepower back home, she might have saved her friends, but now, she hoped she could use it to turn the tide in their favor. Her hopes were shattered when an alarm blared in her ear and V1-N3's synthetic voice pierced her like a spear.

"WARNING: CLASS Z THREAT DETECTED."

The scouter technology built into her suit had been acquired from a place called Capsule Corporation, where the powerful young man they had sought to recruit had lived prior to his murder at the hands of an unknown assailant. The woman there, his mother, Bulma, was no warrior, but she was a technological genius, the likes of which Isara could only aspire to be. The Scouter was designed to read specific Power Levels, but Isara had adjusted it to warn her based on power classes as opposed to showing a specific power level.

With her class system, Selania Bles, the Valkyria who had utterly decimated the combined forces of Amestris' State Alchemists, was considered a Class B threat. Kenshiro and Midoriya both commanded enough power to be Class A, even if Midoriya's drawbacks arguably made him less threatening then Selvaria.

Class S ranked above that, and had been Isara's worst fear. A threat stronger then anything their team had to meet it with. She'd thought Bulma insane when she had suggested Isara account for a threat level even higher then that.

Yet, here is was, a Class Z threat. Bulma had warned that enemies on this threat level could pop a planet with the equivalent effort it took a normal person to pop a balloon. It was a threat, against which, they had no chance of victory, a true worst case scenario.

A true worst case scenario that had come to pass!

"Nepgear!" Isara shouted to get the goddess' attention! Unfortunately, the threat arrived to quickly. In the blink of an eye, a tall, robed figure appeared, floating in the air in front of her! Instinctively, Isara held out her right arm, bringing the weapons mounted to the armor to bare against the threat.

Shock set in so quickly, Isara's mind didn't even have time to register pain. She barely noticed the figure's arm swipe out at her own. She had a sense of something tearing and falling, a blurry image of the figure, holding Isara's armored right arm in its hand. Then, everything went black.

Isara's companions were so focused on the battle, they weren't even aware yet that she had fallen. Ruby Rose's high caliber sniper rifle let off one shot after another, each shot blowing a hole through the metal body of another airborne Ancient Gear. Meanwhile, her older sister's brutal blows scrapped the Ancient Gears trying to stop the sniper. A Hunting Hound pounced on the fiery blonde, only to be sent flying backwards, it's momentum barely even slowing as it crashed through a stone wall.

"Come on! Who else wants some!" she challenged, her eyes flaring red with anger! The challenge was answered by the cloaked figure appearing behind her!

"YANG! BEHIND YOU!" Ruby shrieked in despair, switching Crescent Rose to its scythe configuration! Yang wheeled around to face her ambusher, but it did her little good. Yang's eyes widened with shock as a sickening crunch made Ruby freeze in terror. Yang looked down and instantly discovered the source of the sound. Her assailant had shoved its hand through her abdomen, just below her left breast. Her strength was already beginning to fail her as she rose her arms to grab weakly at the arm that impaled her. It may as well have been a mountain for all the ability she had to pull it out of herself.

Ruby was still frozen in shock and Yang's knees were beginning to buckle when Tashigi appeared as suddenly as the assailant had, her sword ready to swing.

"YOU BASTARD!" she shrieked angrily as she struck! The sword connected with the assailant's neck and shattered, leaving Tashigi to stare dumbfounded at a hilt and a couple of inches of blade that remained for the second she had before the assailant held out her remaining hand towards Tashigi. There was no chance for defense. A surge of Ki completely engulfed the navy swordswoman, obliterating her instantly.

"T… Tashigi…" Yang coughed, blood trickling from her mouth. Every fiber of her being screamed for her to strike, to avenge Tashigi, to save Ruby, to do anything! Anything except the only thing she had strength left to do, clutch pathetically at the arm that was the only thing preventing her from collapsing. She could feel blood trickling down her back, indicating that her attacker's strike had pierced clean through her, puncturing through her back. The figure looked at her, though it's face was hidden completely under its hood. It flattened its hand and swung for her neck. Then, the pain was gone, as was everything else.

Ruby was completely in shock, incapable of even screaming as her friend was atomized in front of her. Her sister's decapitation, on the other hand, broke through.

Coherent speech failed the red hooded huntress, and instead a blood curdling shriek of despair and anger escaped her as she charged with incredible speed at her sister's killer. The attack was utterly futile. The cloaked assailant stopped Ruby in her tracks with a blow to the stomach that knocked the wind from her lungs before striking her in the back with an elbow attack. Ruby Rose hit the ground hard and lay still.

The cloaked figure rose its foot to crush Ruby's skull. Just as it was about to finish off the downed huntress, however, a savagely powerful blow actually managed to knock her away. Midoriya had arrived. His blow had had enough force to knock Ruby's would be killer away, but he had suffered severe consequences. His right arm was badly mangled and clearly broken, yet despite what had to be an extremely painful injury, he was focused on the enemy. The enemy he already suspected he stood no chance against.

"Little bastard," the figure hissed, it's voice sounding feminine and very angry. She began walking towards Midoriya, her fists trembling with rage. Midoriya couldn't stop himself from taking a small, hesitant step away from the being that was about to kill him.

His life was spared, miraculously, when Lady Nepgear suddenly struck at the figure from above! The goddess swung her sword, but was foiled by the cloaked figure grabbing her wrist. Nepgear kicked at her adversary and managed to wrench her arm free, flying back up into the air and leading the terrifying foe away from Midoriya and Ruby. Midoriya dropped to his knees as soon as it became clear the enemy had lost interest in him, pain and terror having robbed him of his strength.

/\/\/\/\/\/\

Nepgear was able to draw the new enemy into the air, away from her injured comrades, but she knew that was the best she could hope for. Even escape quickly proved impossible as the pursuer suddenly vanished from sight, reappearing in front of Purple Sister! Nepgear barely had time to register the event, but it was sufficient for her to shift her body just enough to ensure the haymaker blow the attacker threw her way grazed her cheek rather then caving in her skull!

Unfortunately, the spin kick that followed hit home, striking the goddess in her side. Nepgear cried out in pain as she was sent flying away. Somehow, she managed to slow, then halt her momentum, allowing her to reface her opponent. Rather, she faced where her opponent should have been but no longer was.

Nepgear's eyes widened with horror as she sensed the presence behind her. She didn't need to look to know what it was, so instead, she wheeled around quickly, swinging her sword with all her strength. A flash of Ki energy and a scream of pain ended the fight. Nepgear's sword went flying, embedding itself in a wall as Nepgear began to fall to the earth, her goddess form failing and reverting her to her human form.

Before she fell far, the cloaked attacker grabbed her face, it's hand covering her mouth as it lifted the helpless Nepgear until their eyes were level. Nepgear's eyes weakly cracked open and met her enemies gaze. A weak, muffled protest managed to slip through her lips, but the hand gag held firmly over her lips meant no words were discernible. She couldn't muster any meaningful struggle as her attacker flew to where Yuri still waited, roughly carrying the defeated goddess with her. Nepgear glanced weakly at Yuri as he approached her. Prior to the start of this battle, that sadistic smirk had been the thing the CPU had feared the most. She had had no idea what real fear was. None of them had.

This cloaked figure was more then they could have ever hoped to handle. This entire time, she had been rallying her forces, gathering allies, hoping to win a fight they had never had a chance of winning in the first place.

Which raised the question; why was she still alive? Yuri holding up his Duel Disc answered her question. She'd seen Obelisk Force duelists trap people in cards before, and it seemed that was the fate they had in store for her. She didn't even have the strength left to offer a protest before the blinding light from the duel disc overtook her and the world turned white.

Midoriya was struggling with one good arm to carry Ruby's unconscious form back to the Basilicom. He was worried for Lady Nepgear, but knew there was nothing he could do for her now. As things stood, the best he could was try to get Ruby and himself somewhere they could possibly lick their wounds.

He hadn't gotten far when the hooded figure reappeared in the sky above Planeptune, with no sign of Nepgear. Midoriya felt his blood freeze in his veins as he braced himself for this terror's next move.

Floating above the battlefield, the figure growled angrily as it observed the battle below. It had had more then enough of this conflict. It let out a roar that shook the heavens as a surge of Ki energy engulfed it!

"What are they doing!?" Midoriya stuttered in terror seconds before the being provided an answer. An explosion of Ki erupted outward with the figure at its epicenter. Yuri watched the explosion for a moment, holding the card in which Nepgear had been imprisoned, before a black portal opened and he stepped through to safety. Few of his forces were afforded the same luxury as the explosion began atomizing Obelisk duelists and Planeptune soldiers alike. Midoriya's heroic instincts kicked in and his body moved, almost unconsciously, to protect Ruby before awaiting the inevitable.

Compa, IF, and Histoire had found Isara and the young doctor was working furiously to bandage the stump of the Darcsen engineer's arm. They had gotten her helmet off, but it was clear she was in shock. Not that it mattered anymore. Histoire had no idea what to do as the explosion continued to expand out across Planeptune.

"Everything is lost!" she lamented, knowing what was inevitable, or at least so she thought. Kenshiro suddenly crashing to the earth behind them startled all of them. Their confusion increased as the powerful martial artist began furiously striking the ground, his muscles flexing with enough force to tear right through his shirt.

"AAATATATATATATATATATATATATATAAAA!"

When the light cleared, a lone figure floated high above the decimated ruins of what had once been a vibrant city. The figure's cloak had been blown away, finally revealing the being that had just devastated the last resistance in the dimension she had elected to conquer. She was a powerfully built, muscular woman with long, jet black hair clad in a white tank top a black pants. Her dark eyes looked over the ruins she had just created, and an evil smile crossed her lips.

Devastation, Dark Saiyan of Wrath, had completely ended all who opposed her.
