THE GOD'S LEGACY Chapter 16

Pixie-Bob jumped, using the earth as leverage to close the distance between her and the monster as Percy steeled his nerves and flew forward.
The Devastator was no fool as it also lunged forward, breaking through a wall and stomping on the ground, unleashing a volley of stones and rocks and metal in their way.
The pussycat used the Earth as a shield and drove forward, striking at the creature's foot.
But it stepped back only to see Percy fly past its head and have a death stare battle with each other.
Pixie grabbed a fallen tree and hit the Devastator's leg, making it roar and fall down as the demigod flew and punched its chest, making the creature drop down as a huge crater was formed in the ground as a huge wave of dust rose from the earth.
It grabbed Percy's leg and threw him to the side as Ryuko jumped on it, her claws aimed for the chest.
It rolled to left and jumped up, as the demigod flew towards it, readying a kick to the head.
The monster punched him with enough force to create a huge shockwave, sending Percy flying halfway across the place, breaking a few ribs as he groaned.
Pixie-Bob slashed her paw across its leg as it roared and turned around, looking at her in anger.
She backed up as the Devastator grabbed a car and threw it her way.
Ryuko grabbed the car by the hood and tore it apart with her bare hands, fueled by anger.
The Devastator stepped closer but Percy flew into its chest, punching it backward.
The monster was sent flying away and the demigod followed, grabbing its head and beating it to the ground as he flew upward, slamming it back to the ground.
This was a creature that could not be killed, it would just regenerate itself, and guns and bombs would just make it stronger. There was no way these people could destroy such a monster.
It was from the Ancient times, the time when the primordials used to reign.
This being was created using Chaos' essence as a guardian, but it turned rogue and the rest of the deities were unable to even do anything to it. It just kept spreading destruction, laying waste to hundreds of people who just faded away.
That was why the Greek writers wrote about only twenty beings that came to be known as the Primordials.
Finally, Chaos had to intervene and put it to sleep, but even he could not completely destroy it.
And now, All For One had somehow awakened the Devastator and now unleashed it upon defenseless humans, in a world where gods were dead.
Tiger had left to evacuate the people that were still there in the surroundings, reluctantly.
He had wanted to help, but Percy didn't want anyone else to die for him.
He would've asked Ryuko to leave as well, but he knew she was stupidly stubborn and wouldn't agree at all.
The demigod landed on its chest, punching it down. His eyes glowed as each attack created a bigger shockwave.
But this was stopped as the Devastator's eyes glowed as well, unleashing a blast of heat from its face which Percy dodged narrowly.
It grabbed Percy's stomach and threw him back as the demigod crashed through cars, buildings, trees, and a lot more stuff.
The behemoth got up and charged after him, kicking him out of sight.
It was about to follow but was stopped when an enraged Pixie-Bob punched its jaws, cracking it.
The demigod flew backward, unable to gain control of himself as he groaned, the air rushing past his ears as he heard the distant screams of people, rushing and clamoring out of their houses, and he was unable to help them.
All those sounds vanished when he fell with a splash, straight into the ocean.
His senses dulled as he reached the seabed, hitting the ground with a thud as bubbles left his mouth, his eyes closing as the sounds of people screaming faded from his mind.
He just wanted to die.
But his conscience didn't allow it.
Pixie-Bob was certainly not having the time of her life.
With Percy gone, she was the Devastator's main target, and she didn't like it.
It ran towards her, a fist raised as Ryuko blocked it with a punch of her own, creating a massive shockwave around them, blasting the surrounding things backward, and for a moment she was shocked to see her own strength.
She dodged the next attack, twirling around and jumping up, responding with a clean 720 kick in the air, making the monster hit a wall five yards away.
She jumped at it again but got kicked back, flying through the air and rolling on the ground as she landed on her back, using the earth to slow herself down.
She groaned as she raised her head to look at herself.
Her hoodie had ripped up in various places, showing off a little of her navy blue sports bra underneath and her pants had rips here and there. There were scratches and cuts all over her arms and legs. Her visor had broken into two and one of her paw gloves had torn up.
She sighed and did a kip-up and landed on her knees, crouching down with her hands on the ground, causing a ripple in the earth, making the Devastator stumble.
Ryuko ripped the remnants of her top, revealing her well-toned abs, and jumped up, her knee aimed straight for the monster's chest, kicking it backward, straight into an empty bus on the roadside.
The vehicle burst into flames and she could hear an enraged roar.
The creature growled and got up from under the bus, an angry expression on its face.
It grabbed the vehicle and threw it toward Pixie-Bob, who rolled under it and jumped upward.
The Devastator raised a leg and kicked her backward she flew back, but landed on her knees, grunting as she hit the wall of a building behind her, her blond hair falling over her shoulders.
Ryuko growled in anger and stomped her foot on the ground, making the monster fall to its knees.
It roared and its eyes glowed, but something dropped from above, making it crash into the earth.
Percy's cape was billowing in the wind as he stood over the fallen Devastator.
The creature raised an arm to knock him off its back but the hand hit thin air as the demigod vanished.
The monster was about to get up but was thrown up in the air as Percy punched it upward from within the ground.
It growled in anger and landed back, creating a crater in the earth, and releasing a huge shockwave of orange lightning.
The Devastator and the Demigod ran toward each other, both ready to fight for their life.
The creature's speed had increased as they both crashed, starting a huge and brutal fistfight.
Their movements were a blur as Percy twirled around, dodging the attacks sent his way.
The monster's eyes glowed and unleashed a blast of heat vision in the demigod's direction but he jumped up, landing a few miles back.
He ran forward, a punch directed to the stomach and then to the cheek of the creature, making it fly in the air. Before it could fall down, Percy did a clean 540 kick to the chest, making it crash into the side of a building.
It recovered and threw three cars at the demigod, who jumped above it with a punch ready, but the Devastator was there to meet him, a hand outstretched to hit him.
Percy growled and closed his hands, disappearing from sight as the creature's hand met thin air.
It lost control and started to fall down, turning around mid-air to see the demigod above it, a fist directed to its chest, his eyes glowing.
The monster got up and ran to the left, jumping up to the top of a building, but Percy met it midway, standing there in the air upside down.
The Devastator crashed with something like an invisible wall in front of the demigod, staggering backward, but Percy grabbed its neck before it could fall, throwing it to the ground.
He landed himself as the monster recovered, both of them running to each other, and for the first time, Pixie-Bob could see the unbeatable creature actually get scared of someone.
It was on the defensive as Percy landed kick after kick on its head, followed by a punch, making it fly backward.
He didn't give it time to recover as he delivered a volley of punches, all at super speed, to its stomach, making it grunt.
He punched it repeatedly, making it fly to the right as the Devastator landed near a fallen car.
Percy followed, a punch directed to the creature's face but it sped away from there, making the demigod obliterate the vehicle along with the building behind it.
Everyone was shocked by the raw power that the teenager held.
But the Devastator recovered quickly and punched him into the ground, growling, followed by a huge heat vision blast in Percy's direction, making all the plants around it burn up and die.
After a few moments, the glow in his eyes settled down as it nodded satisfied, and turned around, just to see Ryuko slam its head upward using a huge tree trunk.
Percy punched it, making it fly into the air, and vanish in thin air.
"Percy!" Tiger's voice came from behind as the two turned around to look at the male pussycat.
He was breathing heavily, beads of sweat dripping from his forehead, holding a silver six-pronged trident in his hand, dropping to the ground and doing a shoulder roll to break his fall to stand next to the duo.
"Tiger, what happened?" Ryuko asked, looking at him up and down.
"I found this in the water reservoir in the mall, figured you could use it," He said giving it to the demigod to hold.
"Thanks," Percy said, reaching a hand out to grab the handle, but doubled over in pain as he held it.
"Percy!" Pixie-Bob exclaimed as she held his head, turning around as they heard a terrifying roar just to see the massive behemoth emerging from behind a huge building, an angry expression on its face.
The demigod groaned and the two pussycats looked at him.
"Fight it or run away, your wish, just don't die!" He croaked out. "Go!"
The two heroes looked at each other with grim expressions and ran in the direction of the Devastator.
Percy sighed as he heard a voice speak in his head.
'This trident is infused with the power of Chaos! A Demigod cannot wield it without losing their abilities! Choose young hero! Do you want your friends to die? Or do you want to lose your powers?!'
Percy was confused about what the voice was saying, and what it was talking about.
"CHOOSE!" The voice repeated, this time stronger than before.
The Demigod crouched down and suddenly, a switch clicked inside his mind. The Powers of Chaos. The creator of this abomination. He had sent this weapon to kill it and Percy had to forfeit his powers to wield it.
He thought it was stupid but they had no other choice.
He looked to his right as he saw the Pussycats fight for their life, doing their best, but it was of no use.
Percy sighed and grabbed the trident, flying toward the Devastator, groaning as he felt his godly blood get stripped away to let the Chaotic power get inoculated inside him.
Tiger had it in a headlock while Pixie-Bob was using the earth to bind it in place. Its eyes were glowing and lighting was coursing through its body.
The male pussycat yelled in pain as his vest burnt away.
The Demigod roared and, with the weapon leveled at the Devastator's chest.
It roared as well as the trident pierced its skin, unleashing a huge shockwave, making the other two heroes fly back and hit the ground.
Percy held on, his hair billowing in the wind.
The creature looked at him and grabbed his stomach with one hand, using the spikes on the other to stab the demigod's chest.
Percy screamed out in pain, but strengthened his grip as memories of the people he loved flashed before his eyes.
He remembered Eri's cute smile during the Christmas celebrations. He remembered his friends back at UA. He remembered what he needed to save. He remembered why he clenched his fist whenever he fought.
He remembered his mother's voice and steeled his nerves.
He grabbed hold of the creature's hand and used it as leverage, pulling himself closer, and making the spike poke out of his back. Percy roared and pushed the trident right through the Devastator's heart.
The creature roared, unleashing a huge shockwave and blast of heat vision into the air and Percy screamed, a sound that echoed throughout the world.
The Devastator fell to its knees and fell down on the ground, face down as it dropped Percy's limp body next to it with a thud.
And in that way, the strongest hero in the world died, sacrificing his life for a country that hated him.
