Ino felt a rush of panic when Shikaoi disappeared in a burst of smoke, but she tries to stay calm.
Shikaoi silently hides in the shadows as he waited to see what Ino would do next.
Ino scans her surroundings trying to sense Shikaoi. Minutes pass and Ino is passed worry and is getting more and more annoyed.
"Shikaoi! You lazy bum! Come out and fight me! You're worse than Shikamaru!"
Shikamaru shivers from where he is standing and glanced to where he knows his brother is hidden and waits to see what he will do.
Shikaoi makes another shadow clone, but only gives it a small amount of chakra so as to not alert anyone he then lets the clone make his way out from the shadows and appear behind Ino. Both Shikaoi and the clone are masking their chakra, and the clone silently seats himself on the ground and Shikaoi drops the genjutsu hiding his clone from sight.
The crowd makes a sound and Ino spins around and sees 'Shikaoi' sitting and grows even angrier.
"And I'm the lazy one, I've been sitting here and waiting, but it seems that you couldn't fight me Ino-chan," 'Shikaoi' drawls 'lazily' from his seated position.
Ino grits her teeth in anger and attempts to trap him in her mind transfer jutsu again, but before she can enter 'his' mind the real Shikaoi shunshins behind her and delivers a chop to the back of her neck knocking the girl out instantly as he allows his clone to disperse.
The proctor coughs awkwardly as he glances between the two combatants.
"Shikaoi Nara is the winner," the proctor says after a brief pause.
Asuma shunshins next to his downed female student and picks her up and placed her on the stretcher brought out by the medics, and returns to his place next to his other two students.
Shikaoi makes his way up the stairs to where his teammates and sensei were standing.
He bumps shoulders with his brother as he passes him, and goes to lean his weight against Sasuke as he has already had his match and would be unlikely to move anytime soon. Sasuke huffs fondly and wraps his arm around the younger Nara so that he doesn't fall.
Kakashi sensei eye smiles and ruffles his student's head. The match between Tenten and Temari begins.
