The sand crunched under his feet as he walked across the soft surface. Starkiller didn't bother parking the speeder, all he did was park near the entrance of the imperial outpost and grabbed the ankle of Cham, dragging the dead body behind him as he did so, caring little for the dignity that the enemy leader's body was given. Maybe if he proved to be a worthy foe he would treat him with more respect, oh sure, he was more than worthy to that officer who was dealing with him before he arrived.

To himself? He almost laughed, this so-called leader was weak and pathetic, didn't even last a minute and had the Jedi do all his work for him. And even then, the Jedi did very little. He was more annoyed at the woman who wanted to get close to him. Why was that woman so eager to speak to him anyway, someone from the past of Ezra? At the mention of the name, the voice in the back of Starkillers skull spoke up 'Ezra Kryze is alive only in the past, he is forgotten' when the voice finished. The last few seconds of thoughts where completely forgotten.

As he entered the courtyard, he saw that the place was in chaos. There was no structural damage to the building but troopers were running in a dozen different directions on high alert, in the middle of it all was Thrawn who was looking at a handful of officers in front of him with narrowed eyes and to Starkillers curiosity a large bruise on his head. The Grand Admiral's body was facing to the side, resulting in one of the officers seeing him first. He mouthed something and soon they all turned as he approached.

Though all of them held more neutral gazes as they looked at him, though Captain Slavin's eyes widened more so when he looked down to what he was dragging across the ground "Ah, Starkiller. I trust your time here was more productive then my own" Thrawn spoke calmly.

The Sith assassin stopped walking and tossed Chams body to the ground in front of the officers "not as much as I would like" he commented as he turned to Slavin "you have no more excuses" he said to the man who immediately straightened his back "fail to bring this world into compliance again and you shall not have the chance to make up for it"

As the man started to sweat under his gaze, he felt disgust go through him. This man couldn't even look him in the eye 'coward' he thought to himself, that man such as him was unworthy of his position "come" a voice interrupted him. He turned to look at Thrawn who was half turned away "it is time we leave this place" he started to walk away.

Starkiller gave the officers one final look before he turned to follow the Grand Admiral "What happened here?" he asked as the two slowly walked out of the base and towards a shuttle that was waiting for them. Two rows of Death Troopers standing on either side of them as they did so.

"I made a miscalculation" he spoke in a calm voice as the entered and moved to their seats "It seems that the Jedi that acted as the partner to this Hera Syndulla is more capable than I believed" he reached up and gently caressed the red mark forming on his head "though I do believe this has given me valuable information on the Jedi in question"

"Was he a man?" he asked quickly as he turned his head to face him.

"Yes, I believe he was" he said back with a nod "are you aware of who he is?"

"Cal Kestus. I saw him as he and Syndulla evacuated their colleagues" he said immediately. The name was not new to him, after his first mission on orders of his master. He made sure to look into the two Jedi that managed to escape him, the reports that the former inquisitors wrote about him and the other proved useful, combine that with the older records that the empire took from the Jedi temple after the purge. He was able to make a solid enough profile of the man and what he was capable of, while Starkiller thought he was more than capable of dealing with the Jedi, he wasn't foolish enough to underestimate the man either.

"Yes" Thrawn said picking up his end of the conversation "you seem unhappy with your own mission, I was informed that you went to confront the Jedi that was spotted. What did happen to cause your failure"

His eyebrows lowered when he heard the word, Starkiller had to admit. Thrawn was not afraid of him, something he could respect. It takes a certain type of man to not show fear to a Sith he just insulted. No-one else would dare make a claim of him failing, even though he did, at least to himself. Some may count him killing his opponent a success but his true target was able to escape "there was an unforeseen complication, another opponent that went by unnoticed. She ambushed my own ambush" he explained.

"Another Jedi" the Admiral guessed as the shuttle neared the star destroyer.

"No" he shook his head "this was someone else" he could have just said that she was a Sith but that would open a whole list of questions that the Admiral would have that he didn't feel like answering, at least not yet. No, what Starkiller really wanted to do was ask himself why he didn't he think she was dead, he killed her, she had been crushed.

"At the very least, it this encounter has given me a good deal of insight onto our enemy and a means to learn more of them. For that however, I will need your help to succeed" he said as the shuttled entered the hanger of the Star Destroyer.

"And what help would that be?" Starkiller asked as they both stood up and made their way outside.

Cal calmly walked towards the briefing table of the base, ever since they got back... well ever since they left Ryloth to be more precise. No, actually... he couldn't really find the right way to describe it. When they started to leave the planet, everyone was in an almost state of shock. For Cal, what shocked him the most was the power that Ezra seemed to wield. Halting the entire Ghost like that with the force alone... he shuddered when he thought about it, how would they beat something like that?

Once they did escape, everyone seemed to calm down somewhat. Though it seemed that it wasn't the best thing, because most of them were in a real bad state. Hera, Cal closed his eyes and let out a sigh at the thought, she seemed to just shut down on herself. She focused only on the flight and getting them all home, when they finally got back she just calmly asked them all to leave, they all did without argument and she hasn't left since. Chopper was the only one who stayed with her.

Kanan and Cal himself seemed to be the most... he wanted to say fearful but stopped himself, Jedi's didn't feel fear. They won't let their emotions get in the way like that, they wouldn't allow themselves to be clouded by judgment. Though all things being considered, they were most likely not doing a very good job about it considering everyone can tell they were worried about something.

Sabine, Cal didn't know what to think about her. She was very quite compared to how she was before, but it wasn't like she was upset or about to start crying. It was more like she was in a deep state of thought. But he didn't know enough about her to tell. Upon their return to the base, commander Sato was sympathetic to what happened and from what Cal could tell he respected Hera's wish to remain on her own for the time.

Maul. Well, he was another matter entirely. While the team where away on the mission, he and Marrin spent most of their time together. Something that he found himself annoyed by though even now he had no idea why. He was very interested in what happened regarding Ezra and listened to it all without interruption, he couldn't help but find himself wondering why. It seemed like more than simply wanting to know more about an enemy, there was something about it Cal didn't like.

"You must know more!" the sound of Sabine voice caught his attention. When he neared the table he could see that commander Sato, Kanan, Rex, Sabine and Maul where already present and talking amongst themselves.

"As I have already told you Mando" Maul added with a small frown as he crossed his arms "unless I see him myself, I won't know enough to help you"

"Fine!" she said back placing both her hands on the table as she leaned forward towards him "then you can start going on missions until you do see him yourself" Cal had to admit, this woman did not fear much. The way she starred down the former Sith was something else and very impressive.

However before Maul could come up with a retort Sato spoke up "Kestis, thank you for joining us" he said with a nod.

"Commander" he nodded back to the older man "what is it?" he added.

"A new opportunity has presented itself" he started while the others all turned away from each other, the previous argument forgotten for the moment "thanks to the old records brought in from other missions, Captain Rex has been able to locate a downed separatists ship, from what we've been able to tell it's been untouched since it was shot down. The salvaged equipment we'll be able to get from it will help us a great deal" the man looked down and let out a sigh "since captain Syndulla is mourning and I refuse to interrupt her and the Tempest crew seem to be preoccupied" he looked over to Sabine who starred back at the commander before she let out a small eye roll and turned to Cal.

"The squad makes use of Concord Dawn as a hyperspace lane in order to get supplies. I'm taking the Tempest and Able down there, since Ezra's alive I need to spread the word to his moth... to his aunt, lady Bo-Katan" she explained and Cal listened carefully as she did so, though there was no missing the small surge of anger that came from Maul as she spoke that last part. Something that put him on edge but for the moment he ignored it and his eyes landed on the others.

"With Syndulla on the Ghost and Tempest leaving for their own mission. I would like you to take the Mantis and investigate the sight. Your team should be more than sufficient for this, though I do ask that you bring captain Rex" he looked over to the Zabrak "Maul may go with you as well"

"Sure" Cal said as he placed a hand on his hip "I'll go get them and we'll be on our way" he added before turning around and making his way towards the ship sending to others a mission to meet him there.

"Very well commander" he heard Maul sighed behind him "I shall accompany them to retrieve this equipment"

Cal really hoped that he wouldn't end up regretting this, he had no idea whether or not he would be able to take Maul in the event something went wrong and he would have to be dealt with because something about him still didn't sit right with Cal and unless something major would happen, he doubted he ever would trust the former Sith.

Starkiller held a face of deep concentration as he looked down to what was in front of him, his mind going over all the different methods needed in order to gain victory over his enemy "and this form of precognition" his enemy started "It can be called upon at will?" he asked.

Starkiller looked up from the holographic table in front of them and towards the Chiss admiral "not to everyone" he answered calmly "you would have to be incredibly strong and skilled with use of the Force in order to call it at will" he typed his orders into the console in front of him and the holographic ships started to move as they fired, going in for a closer ranged battle.

Thrawn didn't take a moment before he typed away on his own console, something Starkiller couldn't see for himself, not surprising considering it would give him an unfair advantage "could you do it?" he asked calmly as his fleet moved as one unit, the admiral had called his bluff and zeroed in on the ship he just moved forward.

Frowning at the ship that he was about to lose, he acted and typed away. Moving the rest of the fleet to the left. He had the ship being attack and suicide itself by ramming into the enemy flag ship "with time" he answered calmly "I would need to be in a meditative state and even then, it is not garneted. But the precognition isn't what gave you that eye" he commented as he saw Thrawn frown slightly, his eye still bruised from where Kestus had knocked him out.

Instead of answering out right, he turned his attention back to the table. With the press of a few keys, his ships released the fighters and they started to swarm Starkillers ships "then what was it?" he asked back.

"It's... an instinct" he answered as he activated his ships small range cannons, but they were proving ineffective "when you use the Force, you start to use it subconsciously, it warns you to threats before they happen but only just literally before they happen. It's very useful to the user. If you find yourself going up against a force user again in a one on one. You'd be much better off playing the long game instead of seeking a quick victory" the last of the fighters had been destroyed but the damage was immense and with his ships damaged and outnumbered, the battle was over for him.

"Sound advice Starkiller, I believe I will follow it" he said as he brought his ships in and wiped out the rest of the Siths fleet "your talent for strategy is impressive but you need to spend more time understanding your enemy" he reached forward and turned off the table. Standing up Starkiller followed him to a nearby room attached to the admiral's office, it held a padded white ground and walls, along with two dark trooper droids. It was adequate in terms of training and would do well enough "would you be willing to indulge my curiosity, allow me to see this instinct for myself if you well" he said moving towards the wall and pulling a blaster free.

Starkiller raised an eyebrow at the request but didn't see the need to say no, it was simple enough request. Giving a small nod in response, he moved his robotic arm and activated his red sabre. The blade came to life and he waited, Thrawn raised his hand and aimed the blaster right at him. Neither moved for a moment, both holding completely calm faces. Then the force warned him, instead of blocking with the sabre, he simply moved his head to the side, dodging the bolt that would have went through the middle of his head.

Thrawn narrowed his eyes ever so slightly before firing again, he dodged just as he did before. Then the third bolt came, however Starkiller didn't move his head at all, there was no need too. The bolt sailed right next to him and hit the wall behind him. He missed on purpose, he quickly realized before he moved his sabre and blocked the bolt that would have hit his chest. Then he fired three more thought this time it was in rapid succession and with a simple twisting of his sabre as he moved he blocked all three.

He had expected more to come but the grand admiral simply lowered his hand "thank you Starkiller, that was most beneficial" he said before he lowered his hand and moved back over towards the wall, placing the weapon back where he found it "I will remember this and make sure to be better equipped to deal with the Jedi should I encounter one in the future"

The two walked out of the training room and back into his office "tell me something Starkiller, you have the mind of a warrior do you not?" he asked.

"I do" he confirmed quickly and with a strong voice.

"Good" Thrawn nodded back before he moved back to his desk and as Starkiller moved beside him, he looked down at the data pad in front of him "I have been working on a project that I believe could be of great use to the empire and I feel it would be more likely to succeed if it had your approval"

Starkiller raised an eyebrow at the praise before moving forward and sitting down opposite the admiral "I don't believe I have the authority or influence to change the mind of anyone in matters such as this" he said to Thrawn as he started to overlook the data. It was fighter from what he could see, designation 'Tie Defender' he had to admit, it was impressive. The size of Tie fighters but capable of a third increase to fire power, shielding and light speed travel. This would certainly be an advantage to any fight and a massive improvement over the fighters they have now.

"But you do have the ear of Lord Vader do you not?" Thrawn asked back as he leaned forward, clasping his fists together and placing them under his chin.

"I do" he confirmed "but I believe you may be misunderstanding are relationship. He is my master, I am his hand, he tells me to kill, I kill. He thinks, I kill, he speaks to the emperor and I kill. That is what I am, I do not deal with politics, I do not deal with the inner workings of imperial organisations or personal. I kill who I'm told to kill" he said calmly though there was a strong tone behind his voice.

"hhhmm" was all Thrawn said for a moment as he looked to the data that Starkiller was looking at "I do find myself wondering though, what has Lord Vader done to ensure such loyalty from you?" he asked.

The hands eyes looked up from the data and starred back at the admiral "he proved his strength to me, he proved that he was worthy of my loyalty by proving that he was the better warrior and until I am sure that he is no longer worthy of his strength I will continue to be loyal to him" he explained as he pushed the data pad back over towards the admiral.

Thrawn lowered his hands back onto his desk and pushed the data pad to the side "I admit, I do find that to be a very narrow-minded approach. I can also admit that I do respect someone who has the conviction that you do, you claim that you are a fighter and that is all you desire to be yet you are here with me, do you know why you were sent here?" he asked him.

"Lord Vader had instructed me to join you on your mission because he believed that I could learn more from you" he said back, seeing no need to hide the reason from him.

"Incorrect" Thrawn said back quickly.

Starkillers eyes narrowed back at the man "are you saying that I'm lying?" he asked back to noticeable hostile tone.

Though Thrawn didn't bat an eye at the possible threat "I'm saying you've been lied too" he countered "before you arrived the emperor made contact with me, he told me that he had ordered you brought to me because he felt that your time was being wasted under Lord Vader's direct control. Lord Vader sent you here because he was ordered too, not because he wanted to"

Starkiller narrowed his eyes at the words being said but he stopped himself from lashing out as he could sense no lies coming from Thrawn "tell me something Starkiller, why would the emperor want you to become more capable yet Lord Vader would not?"

He stood up as soon as Thrawn finished speaking "we're done for now" with that said he turned to leave and made his way back to his assigned quarters. But as he walked he couldn't help but think about what he was just told, he knew the answer the admiral's question, of course he did. He was taught what he needed to know about the Sith. He knew the philosophy of the Sith that was introduced by Darth Bane.

The rule of two. That there can only be two true Sith at any one time. A master to have the power and an apprentice to crave it and that rule was true, even to this day. He may have been trained by Vader but that time was over, he was his hand now, no further training was needed. He wasn't an apprentice, if he was then he would have been taught far more than just combat, he would have been instructed on the deeper aspects of the force from his master 'but you're learning more now, are you not?' his own mind said to him from the back of his head.

He opened the door to his quarters and locked it behind him, he didn't wait one moment before he sat in the middle of the room with his legs crossed and began his meditation. He didn't know what else to do in the moment, he needed to think. He could admit that it was likely that lord Sidious could be hoping to replace Lord Vader with another apprentice, he may even hoping that could be him. Every master of the Sith wants the strongest apprentice possible. But how could that not be lord Vader? Who was stronger than his master. Certainly not himself as he has yet to beat Vader in a battle.

Was that what all this was, making him stronger away from his master so his growth wouldn't be sabotaged? Would that work? Would he allow that to work?

No. It wouldn't. He wouldn't let it.

He meant what he said before about his loyalty to his master, so long as Vader proved he was worthy of his loyalty, he would have it. But when Starkiller proved himself to be the stronger, then the time for his allegiance to be to his master shall change. But he will not cheat for it, he would not dishonour himself by lying to defeat his foe, if he is to defeat his master, then he shall do it with his own strength. Not by some grand manipulations that he would start, it will be by dual, by a true battle, he would not dishonour himself by fighting his master when he is not at the strongest. Only when Lord Vader is truly aware and ready for him shall he challenge him to a fight.

'This is the way' he heard a voice whisper from the back of his mind, which he ignored.

His strength would need to improve if he was to succussed, not just his strength but his power and equipment as well. He looked down to his robotic arm, it was not perfect, even with the improvements he made to it. Not to mention the sabre attached to it as well. He's studied the methods used to create lightsabres and there was no denying that some were stronger than others. Though he had no idea which one would be the best to use.

The arm on the other hand, he already knew very well which material could be used in order to help him have the strongest arm that could be created, which is a whole other problem that he would need to deal with but it was something that could be down with a little bit of negotiation.

The group of four marched slowly through the hanger of the old, downed ship. Cal was in the middle of the group with Rex slightly ahead of them, leading the way. Not that surprising since he would have the most experience when it comes to Separatists ships, Maul was on his right walking calmly while Marrin was on his left. They all walked without much trouble though there was a noticeable edge to Cal's step. While he didn't see much of the fighting in the clone wars, he saw a little.

Though due to him being so young when he saw it, what he did see left an impression "The munitions depot is fully loaded" Rex said from the front of the group. Hearing the news, the others all caught up to him and they could see a storage cupboard "more proton bombs in there than we can carry back with us" he said to the others.

"Good news indeed" Maul added as the group made their way forwards.

"Something is not right" Marrin spoke up sharply as they moved forward.

"How so sister?" Maul asked as his head turned to look at her.

"If this ship crashed, then where are all the bodies?" she asked the group as they moved.

"Most likely that they've all been deactivated" Rex explained to her "we might need to keep an eye out for any Ray shields that might still have power"

"What's a Ray sheil..." Cal started before a white shield fell from the ceiling and landed all around them.

Cal quickly activated his sabre and Maul followed suit "this is a Ray Sheild" Rex told him as he placed both his hands on his pistols.

The sound of marching met Cal's ears and he turned just in time to an old enemy come towards him "we have company" he said as the entire shield became surrounded by battle droids "I thought they were all shut down" he said to them.

One of them, that had yellow high lights raised a hand to point at them "you have been captured by the Separatist Alliance" he said in synthesized voice.

"Separatists?" was all that could escape Rexs mouth.

Before any of them could speak the leader brought it's hand up to its head, like it was speaking in a radio "Huh uh. Roger, roger" it said to them.

"What's a roger?" Marrin asked the others as her hands adopted a green glow, clearly a sign of her about to use her magic.

"We have new orders. Incapacitate and capture. Activating stunner" it said before it lifted up a small data pad, ready to hit a button.

"Wait" Cal called out but it was no use as four bolts of electricity shot out from the top of the shield and hit all of them and quickly, they were all brought down to the ground and knocked out.

He knelt down with a calm face as his head was bowed, the communications centre of the Star Destroyer was emptied out as he commanded, he didn't want anyone to interfere or listen in to this call. As the sound of the holographic table coming to life hit his ears, he pulled his hood back and allowed his master to see his head "what is thy bidding, my master?" he said calmly.

"Starkiller" Vader spoke with his synthesised voice "report" he stated.

Bringing his head up, he looked his faster in the eye "there was a Jedi encounter on the planet of Ryloth. The known Jedi Kanan Jarrus was present along with the same one who infiltrated the Fortress Inquisitorius, Cal Kestus. However, there was no sign of the Night Sister" he added.

"Yet you do not report word of their deaths, they escaped you?" he added with a notable angry tone to his voice.

Starkiller however did not flinch "there was an unforeseen complication. Another force user that I did not expect" he started to explain before he could continue however, he stopped. He felt a tightness around his neck, being used to this feeling however, he knew that it was his master using the force around his neck.

"Where you not trained to expect the unforeseen?" his master told him with a notable stern tone "where not trained to deal with any enemy?"

"They... were delt with" he spat out from his constricting throat, before he used his own strength in the force to relieve the pressure "the threat was eliminated" he added.

Lord Vader tilted his helmet to the side slightly before the pressure around his neck fell "explain" he ordered him.

"The jedi and the small rebel crew where cornered and about to be eliminated, before that happened a third party arrived" he started to explain "a woman, strong in the force and skill with a sabre, she was no Jedi as she proved skilled in the use of the Darkside"

"With red hair and a purple bladed sabre?" Vader said for him and Starkillers eyes narrowed at his words.

"You know of her?" Starkiller said to his master.

"Mara Jade" Vader spoke with a notable hiss in his tone, though for the first time since this meeting started. It wasn't directed at him "she holds the place of the emperor's hand"

His eyebrows rose at the news but then quickly narrowed as anger overtook him "why would the emperor's hand try to kill me? Do not tell me that the emperor is threatened by me" he said that last part before he remembered who he was talking to, he quickly regained himself before lowered his head "my master" he corrected.

"Do not presume to know the thoughts of the emperor" Vader told him "That is a mistake you will not be allowed to make twice" Starkiller couldn't help but notice that there seemed to be a small side note in his master's voice made him think twice about it. It was like he was speaking from experience.

"Then what must I do my master?" he asked him with a bowed head.

"The hand of the emperor is on you. You may be here now, but make no mistake, you have only survived Jades first attack. There will be more" there was a warning tone in his voice that made Starkiller think that this Jade posed a real threat to him. He was sure that she was dead, though he had to admit whenever he thought about it, it felt like the force was warning her that she was still out there.

"Then she will die" was all he said back with a stoic face.

"No" Vader shook his head "if you kill the emperor's personal assassin, he will take more... offense then you would think" he added after finding the right word "it would be better for her to be beaten and then personally delivered to the emperor, he will be annoyed she failed but will respect the show of strength you give him" he told him with a calm tone.

"I understand my master" he said with a smirk on his face, not at all annoyed by the challenge but instead expected for a real battle that this assassin will give him "there was something I wanted to discuss with you, my master. Grand admiral Thrawn has requested that I bring this to your attention" he reached forward and pressed a couple of buttons at the based on the hologram projector "he seems to be developing a new Tie Fighter that could allow us to dominate the skies of any world, though it also seems that he's been pushed back from production as another project is being given much more attention, I have no idea what. Simply that it's called 'Star Dust'. Thrawn has requested that you use your influence to push this project forward" he finished.

His master was quite for a moment, no doubt looking through the files that where just sent his way. He wasn't quite for even a minute before speaking again "Star Dust is a project being over seen by Director Krennic, no different from the many other spineless worms of the empire. But Star Dust is the emperor's personal project, all but seeing over it himself and it is predicted to be completed in ten months" he informed Starkiller who listened in closely.

The man did become confused but also intrigued by what it could be as well. The emperor's personal project? What could that possible be? "May I ask what Star Dust is, my master?" he asked Vader fully expecting to not be given an answer.

But he once again found himself surprised by his master's response "Star Dust is the code name for the project that is yet to be given a public name" he started "and it is going to become the face of the empire. It is a Super weapon that will surpass all that has come before, even those that were present during the time of the Old Republic. It will secure our dominance in the galaxy and will act as the HQ for the conquest of the unknown regions" he spoke calmly but Starkiller was becoming amazed by what he was hearing, the unknown regions? He had no idea the emperor was planning something so ambitious, not that he disapproved of it "I am sending you the data now, continue with your mission my hand. Find the Jedi and wipe them out" he ordered him.

"Yes, my master" Starkiller said with his head bowed before the image of his master faded away. Quickly standing up in his place he moved over towards the projector and pulled out his data pad that was lighting up with the recently received files from Vader. Accessing them, his eyes widened as he saw the space station that was being shown to him and all the specifications on it.

He spent the next few minutes going over it all, he could admit. It was impressive to see and it would put even the greatest of armies to shame. This thing could end a war by simply existing, no-one would be foolish enough to try and attack the empire with this present. However, he started to frown as he read the specifics of the primary weapon 'when would this be needed' he couldn't help but think to himself. If he was reading this right, then the primary weapon of this Star Dust would be a super laser that would have the capability of destroying an entire planet. For one brief moment he thought about about the possibility that maybe it would never be used, though that thought was quickly crushed by the others. The emperor was a Sith Lord, the Sith master. There was no chance that he would have the power to wipe out a planet and then not use it.

It filled him with a sense of unease, not that the power existed but that someone would use it. He could not think of a single situation where the destruction of an entire planet would be worth the cost in resources that planet could provide once whatever problem was delt with. But it wasn't his place to worry about something like this, he would do his duty. For now, he upheld his end of the bargain so he stood and made his way to Thrawn's office in order to make sure the Grand Admiral would uphold his.

The ship exploded behind them. Though Sabine did what she could to ignore it, focusing instead on the enemy in front of her. He ducked the avoid the jab and leaned back to avoid the swing. When the attack caused her enemy to turn slightly she used that to get her own attack in and was able to slash the jet pack his wore on his back with her Talon.

Saxon on the other hand wasn't going to let that deter him and twisted his body, kicking outwards as he did so. The foot landed on her stomach, and she was knocked back a couple of steps. They both looked to each other as Saxons ship burned just next to them, he looked over his shoulder and saw that the jet pack wouldn't be usable anymore so he pressed a button on his wrist, and it fell to the floor.

She brought up her hands in order to get ready for the next attack, which came quickly. He swung at her again, doing the same as before she ducked under it but it seemed that he learned from there last encounter as before she could react, he kicked out with his foot again, her arms only just being able to block the attack. She moved forward with her Talons and made a handful of stabbing attack that he was able to get out of the way of, but only barely. Sabine made a couple of slashing moves but Saxon used his armour to block them. That was until she took a page out of his book and twisted her body with her foot extended, while he did block the attack, it also pushed him back a couple of steps and she was able to quickly rush forward and dive. Kicking his legs out from under him and forcing him to roll onto his stomach. Right next to his rifle.

Hearing the sounds of engines getting closer, she turned just in time to see the Tempest heading towards them. Knowing that her exit was coming, she was about to leave but stopped when she saw Saxon get his weapon and aim it at her. She was faster though and ran forward towards him and jumped into the air with both feet extended. They landed right against Saxon's head, while his helmet protected him from damage the force was enough to knock him further back. Almost off the edge.

Not giving him the chance to shoot at her again, she quickly turned around and activated the jet pack she got earlier when they arrived. Flying up into the air just as the Tempest flew above them with its ramp down, she could Able standing on the edge of the ramp waiting for her so that would mean Fenn would be the one flying it. Just as the ship flew over the spot they were fighting, she was high enough to be swallowed by the open ramp and moved safely on board.

She took a couple of breaths as Able gave her a nod, this mission was not how this was supposed to go. Though it seemed that the proctors that deal with the squad on the regular was found out and Saxon was sent by the empire to deal with them. Which is what led to the Protectors being wiped out and Fenn Rau being taken prisoner as a type of trophy. The same Fenn that Ezra dualled the last time they were here, she paused mid step at the mention of his name, the pain still very much present in her heart at the thought of him being so broken.

Shaking her head, she pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind and moved back to the front of the ship, seeing Fenn behind the controls flying them out of the system. Without saying a word, she moved to the seat opposite him and put in the coordinates for Atollon "you have my condolences" she said calmly as she looked out the window.

Fenn didn't say anything back for a moment, instead pulling the lever back and moving the Tempest into lightspeed. Able moved in behind them and stowed his weapons "I take it we abandon this mission?" he said to Sabine who slowly nodded.

"Without the contacts of the Protectors and with them now known as traitors to the empire, we don't have a leg to stand on. Lady Katan will have to find out on her own" she said with a sad voice.

"Is that why you were here?" Fenn asked as he turned to look at them "for Lady Katan's location?"

She let out a sigh and then nodded "we needed to warn her"

"About what?" he asked back.

"Ezra" she said back quickly but his name was but a whisper in her mouth.

Fenn nodded slightly "I was wondering why he was not with you, is he dead?" he asked bluntly.

"No" they both said back.

"But he was taken" Sabine started to explained "we thought he was dead but now... he's changed, he doesn't remember us or even himself. We need to get him back but we wanted to warn his mother about this before she finds out for herself"

Fenn narrowed his eyes for a moment before he turned to look back out the front window "I don't know where she is" he started "but I may be able to find out where, it'll take time and resources" he told them.

Sabine looked back over to Able who nodded back at her "Ok, we'll head back to base and inform Sato of the situation. From there we'll go with you and give you what you need in order to find her, who knows, maybe she could give us something that can be used to get him back"

Fenn was quite as he listened to what was being said, he didn't say anything. Simply nodding to her words. Sabine smiled back before she looked forward and allowed her mind to drift, who knows, maybe after this the Talons would get a little bigger with another team member.

Ok everyone. Mostly filler I admit but don't worry about it too much. Next chapter's going to get real interesting so I hope you all enjoy. As some of you may have noticed the Episodes of Rebels are progressing as they normally would just without Ezra and I'm trying to get an accurate time table on what's happening within the rest of the empire, which is what led to Starkiller learning about the Death Star and when it would be ready and all that.

Anyway, let me know what you all think in the reviews below and I'll see you in the next chapter.
