"Yes, but his Duel Spirits should be somewhere in our world, so," Witch began before scratching the side of her head with her wand. "If you know of any of them maybe we can find one of them roaming the land?"
"But we don't know his old deck," Angel pointed out, floating up to Witchs' eye level.
"But we know his friends', and their decks! I doubt Kaiser has an exclusive dragon deck so we can just ask his deck what they recall of Fubuki," Witch pointed out pragmatically.
"On it!" Tutu called out eagerly, diving into the roof of the school so fast that all they saw of her was the ends of the ribbons on her toe shoes disappearing into the roof.
"So... lets say we find one of the Spirits... humans can't enter the Duel Spirit world, how did he get there and what has he been doing? Wearing the mask and posing as a type of monster associated with the Red Eyes Black Dragon?" Blader asked, running her fingers through her hair as she looked at Witch. "I've never heard of humans in the Duel Spirit world, if he can't see us to start with how would he be surviving?"
"Maybe... Maybe the mask lets him see us?" Angel asked before flying up into Bladers' arms so it could be held.
Witch thought about it, and it made sense, after all she had a spell that let them understand Angel. She had gone through the ancient libraries to find this one specifically so maybe there 'was' a spell that could be enchanted onto an item? She looked around at the elevated position the school had, taking in the sight of all the buildings in the distance and how peculiar. It was strange to see such a world, the air was empty of Spirits, dragons, anything. A world of physical structures with only heavily limited humans walking the ground below. If they wanted to fly they had to get into those airplanes or helicopters, never to know the freedom of flying.
Only somehow this world survived completely oblivious to the Duel Spirit World, and the lives that it involved. That someone of this world, oblivious to the Duel Spirits from the get go, could make it to her homeworld and survive? Was it possible? If so, how?
While Blader pondered the possibility that Fubuki was alive and could come home. His room was still there, despite the years, and she knew they would welcome him back. But would he be the same coming back as he was when he left? These humans were so prone to change as they got older it would be unrealistic to expect the same person to walk back through the doors. Only Blader seriously doubted that Fubuki was in the Duel Spirit World. There were smaller domains that existed close to this world that helped supply aspects needed for the different aligned Spirits. When simply 'night time' wasn't enough for the dark aligned, or days too short for a light aligned spirit.
Black clothes, black mask sounded to her they would need to go into the Yami territory, but even then that place was not fit for humans. Their soft, fleshy bodies needed sunlight, regularly not eternal darkness. Yet perhaps that was why he showed up, maybe he was trying to get some of that sunlight by teleporting back to this world. Only if that was the case why didn't he come home or let anyone know the situation?
He had to be a prisoner, unable to reach his home and that was appalling that he could reach this world. That he could see it's changes as time wore on, but he couldn't reach his family and that felt like a crime to her. Or he was protecting them, if he didn't come home the people who held him couldn't trace back to Fubuki's family? That was a thought.
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Kaiser's Class \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
"Hey, I need one of you that can use human spe... hey I just need one of you that knew Fubuki," Tutu asked as she talked to Ryo's hip where his deck rested. His class was beginning to break down their work, bags were being filled with books. Heralding the news that class was about to change when Cyber Phoenix stuck its head up and looked up at her.
"What?" The bird squawked out, a touch of irritation in its voice at being woken up by the class bell and now Cyber Tutu.
"You'll do!" She chirped out before grabbing it from around the neck and pulling it along with her as she soared up.
"Wait! Where are we going Tutu!?" The Phoenix cried out as it began flapping its wings in reaction, trying to return to Ryo's side.
"We need to talk to you! Now come on!" Tutu struggled in reaction tugging harder at the poor birds' neck. Talking to Cyber Phoenix would be 'great', it could use human speech so Witch didn't have to use a spell to translate for it. "Come on! This is important! You can go back to him when we're done we just need your input!"
"Can't you just ask it here?" Phoenix demanded flapping its wings harder smacking Tutu with each flap. The room was mostly quiet just students talking quietly among themselves and the occasional shriek of some foolish spirit who had offended the Ancient Fairy Dragon. Not because 'she' did anything, rather because Black Rose Dragon was still on the move.
"Not around 'him' this is private and personal conversation time!" Tutu fussed back as those reinforced metal wings kept pelting her.
"Fine..." the Phoenix resigned as it stopped flapping its wings, allowing itself to be towed up into the air like a child's plush doll. "This better be as important as you claim though," it warned ready to peck at her the moment it turned out to be a fools errand.
"I promise!" She hurriedly assured him as they soared up through the ceiling and towards where the other Spirits were gathered. Breaking through the roof top with a excited and proud, "here we are!"
"Cyber Phoenix!" Blader straightened a bit in surprise at the presence of the Spirit, but waved at it all the same. Watching as Tutu put the Spirit 'down' as it were and allowing it to get its physical bearings again.
"Cyber Blader, Cyber Petite Angel, Witch of the Black Rose," Cyber Phoenix greeted the three other spirits as it finally got its feet under it. Waddling, it walked over to the edge of the school and climbed up it, gripping the edge with its feet. Like the other 'Cyber' cards, its designs spoke of sleek efficient lines. It gleamed in the sunlight with its polished steel like frame, its primary feathers were a burned gold like bronze that shimmered like fire. When it took flight into the air those feathers would give that flame effect that were associated with a phoenix. So people wouldn't mis-think it as a mere falcon, hawk or eagle.
Nobility in its design made even its bird style waddle more dignified, like that of an elder gentleman. It then turned to look at all the spirits in turn, "Well? What's so important that you had to grab me like this?"
"We may have a lead on Fubuki, but we're going to need help," Blader explained her words causing the Phoenix to extend its wings slightly in surprise before using its left wing joint to stroke its beak in thought.
"Fubuki, you say? Well now that 'is' important, what do you need?"
"We believe he's alive, and that means his deck has Duel Spirits attached to them now easily, we want to find those Spirits." Witch explained floating forward to take lead which caused the Phoenix to face her.
"Well now... if it's true that he's alive, it would mean that... So what next? You plan on scouring the world for those spirits?" Phoenix asked thinking back to those earlier days.
"Yes, we're too new Asuka didn't duel her brother so we never met his deck!" Tutu explained, her hands clasped before her as though she was begging, "but if there's a chance!"
"Then its best to take it! Of course, I understand, and you would best start by finding the Panther Warrior or really any stage based type of Spirits." Phoenix offered, "Panther Warrior is the Duel Spirit I recall when Fubuki got around to dueling Ryo. Hence how we met," it rapped its' talons against the brick of the school it was perched upon. "But given what you said, I'll rouse up Ryo's deck, we can start searching for Panther. Though... If I might inquire," it picked up its right foot and gave it a small flex before putting it back down. "Its been years since we saw him, I'm sure you've gone over it among yourselves. But I may need to explain this to the others, soo..."
'Panther Warrior? Hey I think I saw one at the Ancient Library yesterday! Shoot! If I had known I could have just asked him, welp I'll just go there first!' Witch thought to herself looking between Tutu and Phoenix.
"Didn't you already explain it to Phoenix?" Blader asked watching as Tutu hunkered down before turning to look away from them.
"Yusei went to see the Bridge's unveiling yesterday and found Fubuki standing on the roof of a building! He teleported away so we've been trying to find out if he's alive or a spirit or what happened to him," Witch explained.
"I see, so you don't 'know' for sure if he's alive, but you've gotten verification that he's still around... Interesting..." Phoenix covered its beak with a wing as it thought about the situation. If Panther was in the Duel Spirit world and not in use in a duel, the Warrior was roaming around on its own. But where he would go, was the question because why 'not' find the Cyber types for help? If Fubuki didn't run away why not try to find help for him? Data could move fast when necessary, so all he would have to do was send an-and no one would hear them...
What was the point in trying to 'get' help if no one could see them? Even if Panther Warrior reached them, and they could find Fubuki in the Duel Spirit World. How exactly did he come to be in the world to start with? How would they even get him back 'out' of the world if it could be done at all. Yet if Fubuki was 'there', someone had to be powerful enough to bring him and would they even let him have a means to escape? What if those Spirits had been destroyed? It didn't fit Fubuki's profile to run away and just abandon his family. Though it was a possibility that Fubuki left intentionally, Phoenix refused to follow that line of thought to its conclusion.
"I worry though. Would Panther Warrior still exist? I can only imagine someone incredibly powerful would be able to bring a human into our world. That they managed to do so, yet the Spirits that had bonded to him doing nothing to help him escape? I worry now that his deck may no longer exist. How else could he be kept there for so long with no means to communicate with any of us?" Phoenix pointed out, causing its fellow Cybers to affix their focus onto the one who brought this all up.
Witch of the Black Rose.
She blinked at the phoenix and began to nod, "Aki and Yusei weren't thinking as far as finding the Duel Spirits associated with him. But when Fubuki disappeared he left a spell card behind, 'Ultimate Stage Costume' and it is active enough and aware to flow into the form of what Fubuki was wearing."
"'Ultimate Stage Costume' you say? Well yes, that is kind of a spirit, it bridges the gap between we Cybers and the inanimate objects you find." Phoenix spoke aloud, yet thought, 'but it 'is' a part of Fubuki's deck. Perhaps the Spirits were destroyed and all Fubuki had left was that spell card?'
"So, you still agree there's a chance?" Angel fairly whimpered at the stern, noble vestige of the Cyber Phoenix.
"I believe that if the Ultimate Stage Costume 'has' been sent akin to a letter in a bottle, that it may very well have been an SOS. I worry that perhaps Fubuki has been making these attempts, leaving cards through out this city and no one has been aware of the situation to help. I fear that the Costume might be all that is left of Fubuki's deck."
"Noooo!" Tutu sank to her knees and covered her face while Blader leaned down and began consoling the smaller Spirit.
"I will hence notify the rest of Ryo's deck, we'll begin the process of networking through the Duel Spirit world in an effort to amass information. Let us hope that there was at least 'one' Spirit who encountered Fubuki's deck." Phoenix announced as it opened its wings and prepared to dive down into the school and rally the forces. "Also I would ask that you notify Asuka about these matters, as it concerns her brother. Also because of their biological connection it 'may' work in our favor in locating anyone connected to Fubuki."
"But..." Angel whimpered as well causing Phoenix to settle back to hear the Fairy out. "What if nothing is found? What if it was just a final 'good bye' from Fubuki..."
Yet it was Cyber Blader who answered, her normally strong, confident voice softening for the pair. "Then she'll finally have closure and if you care about her at all, and I know you two do. You both want her to have closure on this matter."
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Lunch time \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
"What's wrong Aki? You look distraught!" Momoe asked in concern as the rose duelist sat there staring at her lunch with the most haunted look on her face.
Everyone else at the table gave her only passing looks of concern, only to grow more concerned as her mouth would open and shut a few times. A whimpering squeaky sound would rise up from her and she would grow quiet.
"Hadadragonaskwhatacondomisbecauseofwhatheheardbeingdiscussedbetweentwopeople."
Reactions ranged from Asuka choking on her bite of lunch to Ryo spewing his drink, everyone at the table had a reaction to 'that'. Momoe was giggling behind her hands, while Junko covered her eyes with a hand in disbelief. Isao and Kazushi were blushing and looking away, since the only other response they 'could' have would have gotten them sent from the table.
"As if we needed 'more' proof that Fudo likes you," Momoe squeaked out in mischief.
It caused Aki's eyes to grow wide as she realized she never even 'thought' of Yusei when she said that. "No... nononono not Yusei. It was someone else's dragon, not Stardust!" She was sure she would die if Stardust ever asked her about such a thing. It wasn't that she 'didn't' occasionally ponder what it would be like to call Yusei her boyfriend.
It was the fact that...
Stardust...
Was curious and present too...
"Oh," Asuka cleared her throat, though it was still a bit scratchy from when her food went down the wrong passage. "Judai has been talking about dragons running about...?"
"Yeah, that? What's been going on Aki?" Junko asked, peeking through her fingers before lowering her hand all together.
"Well, Ancient Fairy heard about what has been going on around here since my powers... um... So she wanted to establish rules of conduct for the Spirits who come here, and Black Rose came to help... ahh... 'enforce' those rules..." Aki explained, earning a raised eyebrow from Ryo as he finished cleaning up his mess.
"Rules of Conduct? The Spirits have been misbehaving?" He asked, earning a shake of the head from Aki.
"That's kind of the problem, its not so much 'they' are, rather they're reacting to what's been going on with the students. But since no one can see what's going on, the Spirits have begun to act out, though they can't affect this world." She explained with a faint shrug as she arrested the others' attention once again.
But she found it difficult to face Asuka now, knowing about the conversation that Witch was sent to have regarding Asuka's family life.
"There you are Aki!" Witch's voice, with a forced cheer to it, came up behind Aki causing to stiffen and force down the instinct to face her Spirit.
Witch flew past her followed by a small group of Spirits, the air about them somber and serious, and now that Aki wasn't looking at anyone at the table. It became its own private bubble of silence, "ah well the Cyber's are going to go to the Duel Spirit world first. But, Cyber Phoenix insists that you need to tell Asuka what's going on."
She watched as Aki turned white at the thought of explaining what had been going on and waved her hands in an effort to reassure her. "Not here if you don't want to, I know Judai is an issue. But they want Asuka to know that this is even going on, out of respect for her feelings on these matters."
Aki nodded, taking in the sight of the Cybers fading from sight leaving Asuka's presence unobstructed. She probably should talk to Yusei first, but part of controlling her powers was about controlling her life right? She didn't need to ask Yusei for 'everything'...
"Asuka, can you and Ryo come to my home today? We need to talk..."
