Was this Kaiba Land?

They had loaded up the figurines that Carly had made ready, easily enough with Crow providing her with a helmet for the ride to KaibaCorp. Riding his D-Wheel had been pleasant enough her brother enjoying riding with Big Brother Yusei. Honestly he seemed so excited when he got on the back of a D-Wheel, she wouldn't be surprised if he grew up and wanted to be a professional D-Wheeling Duelist.

Where as she...

Dueling wasn't as exciting for her anymore, she had fun sure, but her time in the Duel Spirit World had affirmed that these were people. She didn't like dueling for the sake of dueling anymore since it meant forcing her friends to fight unnecessary battles. 'I'd rather just play and spend time with my Spirits rather than fight... but I guess that comes from being able to see them. Its not like I'm looking at the static holograms that everyone else sees.' She thought to herself as they rode down the streets the wind wiping fast past her, but not hard enough to make Kuribon fall behind.

"Its funny how clean Neo Domino looks like in person," Crow called out to her as he drove, pulling her attention back to the present. "I've seen some stuff from the net, it always looked cleaner online... Like it sparkled or something!"

"I guess that's just how TV likes to portray things..." Ruka commented as she looked at the buildings as they had passed by them. It never felt anything special to her, which probably was why she always found how Yusei reacted to things interesting. Like the gym in the apartment complex, watching him wander and study had been fun!

But now as she stood in front of KaibaCorp, she found herself taken by how magical the building felt. When Crow pulled up to the large building, it 'did' seem to sparkle as she looked at it. It was a tall, white building with the English letters of 'KC' at the top and three Blue Eyes White Dragon statues that were positioned at the front of the building. The three, made of stone, looming over anyone who walked under them, while another soared above the top of the building. Granted to everyone else they would only see the statues, but her attention was on the forth one that had taken wing, for it was not made of stone. It looked massive, as it lazily glided upon whatever wind currents to be found high above the building.

Yet it wasn't the Blue Eyes White Dragon that the world was more familiar with, with its rounded head and white metal banded style body. It was more along the lines of what would be considered a 'traditional' dragon, with all the curves and angles that went with the form. Though Carly 'did' have such a dragon with the models of Lord Kaiba. It was whiter than a cloud, while slipping through the air as easily birds.

"Sis?" Rua's voice broke into her thoughts, causing her to snap back to present and look at him through the harden computer laced plastics of the visor shielding her face.

"Oh... sorry," she climbed down from her seat before pulling off the helmet so that Crow could put it back up.

"What's up sis? See something?" Rua asked, while Yusei could be seen in the short distance helping Carly get her figurines out of her car. Jack stood over the pair as though overseeing the very act of moving the box was his soul duty.

"A dragon, a Blue Eyes White Dragon like what Carly has!" Ruka answered gesturing at the top of the building. "Oh! It just landed on the roof!"

"Really? Aww man I wish I could see!" Rua pouted as he looked at the statues on their level. Aged though the trio of dragons were, they were massive and fierce looking, but when compared to 'real' dragons? Eh...

"Come on," Ruka tugged her brothers' sleeve as she followed the rest of the group. Granted the dragon was impressive, but she would have been lying if she said wasn't a little curious about the place. Nothing that was visible to the naked eye, but there was this nameless energy that flowed about it. Giving her goosebumps and making her feel more charged up than normal, as though her heart wasn't an issue and she could run for days.

"Ruka wait!"

Crow's voice caught her attention before she got too far, allowing her to turn around and see him hold up her backpack. A cheery smile on his face as he wordlessly reminded her that she had a backpack that carried a promise.

"Oh!"

A backpack that held hers and Patty's autograph books, she couldn't forget those! She jogged back over, even as she heard Rua's own exclamation at his own thoughtlessness. Crow held out her backpack so she could easily slip it on without even asking. Though Yusei 'had' commented on how Crow raised kids back home as well. It kinda fit with the theme of his deck, he had birds in his deck, he had a bird name and he was incredibly friendly. A man who loved and cared for his flock.

Once he had entered Carly's apartment, Ruka had seen enough that between the three guys, Crow was apparently the 'youngest' brother of the trio. Yet he also was more mature than Jack, often getting into brief arguments with the taller duelist, though the pair settled down when Yusei would give them a scolding look or when Carly was around. Making the Signers feel even 'more' like a family she found. Indeed, it would have been picture perfect if Aki had been with them, but that wasn't going to happen until Aki got back.

Ruka saw Rua pull his own backpack out of Yusei's D-Wheel and she quick stepped her way to her brother. "Do you think we'll actually get to meet Lord Kaiba?" Rua asked as he slipped on his backpack with barely contained excitement.

"I don't know, but he doesn't sound super pleasant so I'd be fine with maybe the Vice President or maybe one of the designers..." Ruka confessed as her twin joined her and they made their way to the front doors of the building with Crow taking up the rear so the three of them were together. Observing Crow from a distance, as he looked around like a wide eyed tourist, made her think more of Rua. If Rua was older, or they had more time together she felt the two guys would probably make for pretty good friends. They both looked wide eyed and excited and that didn't help settle her down at all.

Approaching the building she could see people in suits moving on the other side of the glass windows. She could also see the disturbance that Carly's presence caused as people could be seen pausing and looking in her direction. Between Carly and them she could also see Yusei standing near the doors, his posture as stoic as ever, but angled so he could see the three of them. In the second that Rua ran up to Yusei it seemed to put the employees at ease. Which was funny since the company dealt with Duelists and Yusei was the current champion.

'I should stop running... if I'm with Crow then they might not treat him badly...' She thought, slowing down to let Crow catch up to her. After all, 'Yusei' was a Marked Criminal who was the current Turbo Duel King, Crow was just a Marked Criminal. As soon as Crow had caught up to her she walked into the building, letting the blast of cool air hit ruffle her hair. The place was clean, the employees dressed neatly and best of all. Kuribon was pretty jazzed to be there all together, the little Spirit floating after a larger, darker, shaggier Kuriboh that was faded from sight before Kuribon's soft kurrs could be heard.

"It'll be ok, Kuribon," Ruka consoled her disappointed Spirit under her breath. Without thinking, just stepping through the threshold made her feel at ease enough to speak to a spirit most would never see.

Now that she was here she could see the room was nearly empty save the occasional pillar. The floor was made of marble, its thick gray veins trailing along the floor. The walls were white and probably made of some equally expensive stonework. Not only expensive but she could see faint engravings of the Blue Eyes White Dragon and the Dark Magician in seemingly random parts of the wall. It was funny really, like a game to see how many she could see as she walked under stern, bright white lights from high above.

"I've counted like five Blue Eyes and three Dark Magicians so far..." Rua whispered to his sister with a huge grin on his face.

"I found four Dark Magicians, did you see the one on the pillar?" She whispered back in excitement.

"No! Where?" Rua answered as he began checking the pillar closest to them. Ruka gleefully tugged her brother back to where she had been and pointed up at one Dark Magician near the ceiling of the room. "Think there's more?"

"Maybe..." Ruka shrugged as she moved closer to the pillar and began giving it a more thorough look over.

"This is so neat," Rua noted as he followed her though he moved counter clockwise from her as he studied the pillar. "I mean I heard that Lord Kaiba is extremely cold and hard, so when did they put these in?"

"Maybe they snuck in it behind his back? I mean, they're not exactly easily visibly unless you look hard," Ruka theorized as she bumped into her brother on her search, meeting at the middle so to speak.

"Bob was hoping I could find some folly artists, I wonder where they would be..." Rua mentioned as he looked over at the wall where a several elevator doors resided. Two of them looked pretty standard, and opened off and on with people coming and going. There was a visible light above the elevator that went off when the elevator gave a firm chime. Announcing the elevators' arrival while the last one looked super important. There was a red carpet that directed ones eyes to it, while the door frame was silver instead of the generic black like the other two.

But Rua didn't know how to recognize a folly artist to start with, and to be honest, he didn't know what a 'folly artist' was. Until Bob explained their importance in making sounds for the duel disks that is. Tenpei was probably right though, there really wasn't anyone of high importance at KaibaCorp to start with, business people were just that. Business. Artists, lore writers, programmers were about the only tier of 'celeb' that the kids were interested in really. After all it wasn't like the twins 'weren't' living with the current Turbo Duel King and friends with the former one.

Ruka, on the other hand, had decided to find 'someone' involved in the artwork design for Hanawata. Giving Patty an autograph from someone who brought Hanawata to life for her to meet felt like a great gift to give her friend. It was also the founding thought of who the pair should get autographs from.

Though where would they even begin looking for the artists and designers? What floor would that be on and would they be allowed to go to those floors? 'I mean, if somehow Carly gets to see Lord Kaiba, that doesn't mean we can take a tour of the building, right? So if I was a designer or artist, what would I look like?' Because if they were going to meet 'anyone' it was going to be here on the ground floor.

With the pillar before her and overhead Kuribon on her right, the sudden sound of Kuribons' excited 'kurr' startled her. She glanced up and watched as the small Spirit flew forward, chattering away in her own language. 'What?' Ruka thought as she leaned over to see what caught Kuribon's attention. Maybe that Kuriboh reappeared?

'Oh, that looks like they could be an artist...'

Ruka noted as she watched the first completely out of the ordinary looking person walk through the large open space. Black boots, black leather pants, black tanktop with straps of spiked black leather around the wrist, and forearm. Sure Ruka couldn't see the person's face with Kuribon in the way. But she could see some wisps of long brown hair, and bonus points for the fact that the person reached up and openly began scratching Kuribon's side as he walked. At least Ruka 'assumed' it was a guy, the chest was too flat. Meaning that this person could see Duel Spirits as well, making him the first person she could think to get an autograph from!

"Come on Rua!"

Ruka grabbed her twin and shushed his own exclaimed confusion that quickly became excitement as he caught sight of the person too. It was almost painful how they wanted to run after this man and call out to him. But they needed to present a well behaved appearance for the sake of the other Dragons. If they took off running it would look bad on Yusei and Crow, meaning they had to walk like normal, well behaved, children. Even as Ruka realized the 'brown hair' was actually the Kuriboh she had seen before.

"Ruka? Rua? Hey, come back..."

Yusei glanced over at the sound of concern from Crow and found the twins skittering away. Which was odd given that they weren't prone to wandering or ignoring the teens, but Crow had been hanging back with the twins between himself Yusei so if something bad happened. Crow would probably pull them back leaving him with the front desk and Carly's attempt to reason with the receptionist.

But Yusei became more invested in the redhead as Crow began walking away from the teens and towards the retreating twins. The pairs strange fixation seemed locked on a guy in black leather who was walking towards the elevators further back. Crow was trying to get the twins attention without encouraging security to come after 'him'. Though Jack was doing a fine job of keeping everyone's attention on 'him'.

Loud mouth.

Unable to get either Jack or Carly's attention, and concerned over why the twins would walk off on their own when they knew better. Yusei decided to back Crow up and pursue the twins through large lobby of the building. There were three different elevators, the guy in black opting for a rather elaborate one as far as Yusei was concerned. The door pinged open and the stranger walked in, with the twins in hot pursuit. Not only that, they apparently finally got the strangers' attention, as Yusei saw a hand stick out and begin holding the door open while the twins bounded inside the elevator!

"Hey!" Crow hissed, as both he and Yusei broke into a jog as they raced to the elevator as well to get the kids.

Yusei was grateful that the lobby was mostly empty, allowing him and Crow to run around them without disturbing them. While Yusei felt his arm begin to burn with a surprisingly unique feeling of immense excitement. It was the first time he had felt the Mark of the Dragon react with a strong emotion of delight. He could even see Crow's arm glow as well causing the guy to slow down in confusion as he glanced over at Yusei.

"Wait, hold the elevator!" Crow called out finally giving up on being quiet.

What could Yusei say? Whoever it was clearly had excited Ruka immensely, and thankfully the stranger was still holding the door open. The guys stepped over the threshold into the well lit wood panel colored box; while the twins stood flabbergasted and staring as though they had seen the moon, or their Dragons, for the first time.

"Ruka, Rua, you know better," Crow began, out of the parental instinct honed by years of looking after orphans on Satellite. Yusei was happy with his silent, stern, glower.

The twins didn't even try to tear their eyes away from what they were looking at with such wide eyed awe. The most that the twins offered was Rua raising a lone, shaking hand to point to the corner of the elevator while the doors slid closed behind the older teens.

The twins tried to speak, their voices soft pants as though they needed help to get oxygen in their lungs. Making Yusei realize he was probably going to have to apologize to the stranger for the twins behavior. Thankfully, given the attire he saw from behind, Yusei was fairly confident that he was going to be dealing with someone a little closer to his and Crow's social status. Instead of some overly important official who would doubtlessly protest in sharing the space with a pair of marked criminals.

"B-b-b..."

"it... its..."

"ITS YUGI!" The twins literally shrieked at their full volume in the most obsessive fan meeting an idol pair of voices they could manage.

Earning a chuckle from the corner of the elevator and a simple, "Hi, nice to meet you!"
