A/N: Hmmm not much, just some touch ups...

The black car rode along at the even flow of normal traffic, staying comfortably in its lane. Infuriatingly following all the 'rules of the road' so that Yusei was literally stymied on what to do. Television always depicted situations as a 'high speed chase'. That they, the clear bad guys, would pull away driving through traffic in an effort to get away from their pursuer. This wasn't television though, they didn't pull away, or do anything that would get the law to notice them.
In fact anything, more 'extreme' from Yusei was more likely to get 'him' arrested than the vehicle. Even if it 'was' Aki in the back. The odds were just too stacked against the odds of having Ushio be one of the arresting Security officers. Thus even attempting to draw attention to Aki's presence would amount to nothing. Who would listen to a Marked criminal, save Ushio?
Worse yet, Aki didn't move in her seat. If she saw him she would have reacted, so whatever was over her eyes was blocking her view of him. At 'best'. Even while the rest of his mind pointed out the absence of Witch. She was a staple for Aki's presence as the representative of Aki's deck, but he couldn't imagine her not manifesting if she could. He expected her to be hovering above the car at the least.
'But you can't see duel spirits naturally, she may actually be there.'
Buildings flew by as they drove, Yusei restricted to stay on his ride as they managed to hit every green light on the road. The business district started to shift into the construction area as fewer established buildings could be seen. The dark tinted back window of the car showed that Aki, or maybe whoever, hadn't moved. They sat as still as a life sized doll rather than a person, while the other passenger moved only on occasion.
He flipped on the communications, turning on the beacon to YuseiGo for Jack and Crow. 'I can't risk them knowing I'm calling back up can I? Aki in a brainwashed state is too dangerous...' Unbidden memories of Black Rose Dragon lashing out at him, and the thought of what she could do without a target came to mind. Not only that, but Aki could call forth those spirits from Carly's deck so there was a chance that she would do it again.
Fewer cars were on the road now as the areas were either in full swing or shut down for the day. Thus the car began to pull away, accelerating beyond speed limits and giving Yusei the reason to give a proper chase. Tires squealed upon the asphalt, the wind chilled his lips and snatched greedily at his jacket as Yusei kept pace with the car. With a more slender build and thus more aerodynamic, Yusei's ride rushed easily to be at the side of the black car.
Looking to the side, he could see the pair again, with only the dark tinted window to obscure his view. Close enough now, and with more time to study the shape of her, even if it was just a lower profile. Yusei felt more confident to say that this was probably Aki. Her lower nose and chin, more over as he watched through the corner of his eye. The guy handed Aki a card which she accepted, probably the first move he had seen her make since he saw them at the accident site.
It was also the last thing he saw. His ride was suddenly ripped out from under him. Yuseis' legs were still gripping the D-Wheel while he forced the rest of his torso to go prone. Meanwhile his arm sparked into a flaming pain the type borne from the strike of lightning to dried tinder.
The lights went out on his board as his head struck the front of his D-Wheel.
The tires of the D-Wheel squealed into a horrified shriek as their whirling motion was sharply forced to stop. Momentum, however; refused to be denied. Propelling Yusei forward out of his seat and into the air over the front of his own ride. Despite his head being protected by his helmet, the blow stunned him as he went over. The helmet had its limits and Yusei went into the air, seeing stars and not enough awareness to try and correct himself.
If he even could.
Instead he sailed through the air, a poor girls' ragdoll, projected forward all limbs and rotation. The car began squealing its own tires as it applied its own brakes, so that the sound drowned out the impact as Yusei hit the ground. Rolling along a few loose limb tumbles. Smoke rose from the tires of both the car and the D-Wheel. YuseiGo no longer controlled allowed decelerating momentum to tilt it onto its side. Sliding along and scrapping into Yusei pushing the duelist even further along. Paint and metals grinded along the ground leaving its own blood stain. While between it and the car with its six wheels merely reeked of burned tires.
The two men in the car quickly stepped out into the open air. The driver turned on the emergency lights and popped the trunk to the car before he raced over to the D-Wheel. Hefting the vehicle up right he began pushing it off to the alleyway near by. The blinking light on the console grabbing his attention, before he deftly shut it off even as the first beeps of an incoming call squawked into the air.
The other man was much younger, in fact, he was less a 'man' then another teenager about the same age as Yusei. He was neat in appearance no different than any other high school aged teenager who should have been in class at that moment. At his side a regal, stern attired woman materialized into the air at his side. Her flowing red hair was clipped neatly back with a dragon winged hair clip while her amber colored eyes where framed with a soft blue tribal type markings. Upon her brow was a single softly warmed red round gem also wrapped in the same type of blue markings.
The young man quickly made his way to the fallen rider as the vivid burning mark of the Dragon faded away. Assuring him that the duelist had survived the otherwise fatal accident. "He was right about the Crimson Dragon..."
He hefted up Yusei and began towing the duelist to the back of the car, the scrape of the duelists' leather boots on the road the only sound from Yusei. But it was partnered with the soft grunts of towing another teen in heavy riding leathers into the trunk. The trunk was empty save the spare tire and thick cord, he grabbed that and quickly began binding Yusei's wrists behind the guys' back. While the driver finally made it to his side, using the other end of the rope to bind up Yusei's legs.
Once Yusei was bound up, the teen pulled out a syringe and small bottle from his pockets. He quickly filled the syringe with the clear liquid from the bottle. Once the bubbles were expunged from it, he brought the needle to Yusei's neck. Before pushing the stopper all the way, until the full contents of the syringe was inside Yusei's neck. The liquid pushing the flesh up just enough to show that the injection was going through.
"Take and throw away his deck. The visor blocks her view of him and the sound of his voice, but not duel cards. If she sees his spirits or even recognizes his style of dueling she may slip our control." The teen instructed as he extracted more of the clear liquid into the syringe.
"Right," the driver answered as he reached over and pulled the deck case that Yusei wore at his hip away. He pulled back to give the deck a lazy toss off to the side of the road, away from the D-Wheel. "There was a tracking alert on the D-Wheel. I turned it off just as the system started to receive a call, so we should go."
"Ready," the teen pocketed the syringe and bottle before he pulled back the older man flipping Yusei over then shutting the trunk door. "In that case I should stay behind, his fellow dragons are going to come and I can stall them. The others will be at the meet up," the teen replied. "I'll call in that I'm staying behind, Ruka will be at school so they don't have anyone who can see spirits."
The driver nodded before returning to the driver side door, "stay safe, those who follow the Crimson Dragon are never a push over."
Nodding with a reassuring smile, the teen waved and stepped back to the side of the road. Watching as the emergency lights flashed off the car and it start to pull out, the smoke from the tires now gone. Leaving only the unfortunate sight of tire skid marks along the ground, he turned an almost lazy roll of the head towards his attentive spirit.
Observing her slightly vacant expression, "are you capable of cleaning away those marks?" he asked patiently, aware that his Duel Spirit had limitations. Empress Judge didn't really have anything that associated her with 'cleaning'. Unlike Aki's witch who, by just being a 'witch' could literally magic up solutions. But it was too late to order Aki's witch to do the job as the car was already out of sight.
"So Empress, why don't you judge some of these ideas I have..."
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Crow \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Crow drove with a frown on his face as his eyes scanned the road with a growing urgency. While before he had lazily observed and noted each dark car that drove by for Yusei. Now he studied them, with mounting anxiety as his arm still bore the residual burn of the Mark's flaring up. Yusei sending out the tracking beacon without any warning had startled him. Causing Crow to turn his ride towards the construction district of Neo Domino.
A frown on his face that caused him to study the map layout.
If Yusei was tearing through the streets, Crow would have expected that Yusei found Aki or something. But he was moving at the speed of someone following speed limits, not something screaming 'I need help!' to Crow. He followed the beacon casually until he saw the speed of Yuseis' beacon suddenly pick up. 'Now it looks like he found something!' He thought in satisfaction as he began to pick up the pace.
The road he was on was going to cross over the shortest path he needed to reach the roads that would funnel him to Yusei.
Suddenly YuseiGo stopped moving, not slowed and eased to the side, just stopped in the road. A small dot on a map made by a pen instead of a moving icon indicating action. Worry crossed his mind, concern that Yusei might have slipped up for once from his fixation on Aki. Only for his Mark to seemingly answer in kind as it flared up. Just as the Mark flared once for Aki when she died, it flared for Yusei.
A rock of worry weighed itself into his stomach and Crows' focus went into high alert.
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Jack \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
"I'm sorry Jack, but nothing you're describing sounds good. I'm glad that, even if you don't believe in her ability, you tried to reassure Carly. But Carly 'does' have the ability. That she uses exclusive Duel Monster cards doesn't help and she limits herself further with just the Fortune series. There 'are' cards out there that would help, even in the game, that would afford her the clarity she needs when she does these readings. But her choice has been to focus on fortune and that is a wide net to cast." Misty explained with a soft sigh.
"You've gone to help Yusei regarding Aki? I fear that the meaning is that you're going to find Aki, but not in the way you 'want' to find her." Misty finished up before fiddling with her tea cup, wanting a sip, but it felt out of place given the topic. "Or conversely, you'll find Yusei, but not in the way you want to find him. Since you didn't give Carly a direct question, she would have undoubtedly inquired about both by accident."
"I know where Yusei is, he's turned on the beacon to his D-Wheel," Jack answered subdued. The idea of 'finding Aki but not in the way he wanted to' was too wide a gulf. Finding her corpse whole or desecrated felt like the logical result. Finding her alive would be great, that would be the goal, but then the 'worst luck' would mean worse for Yusei. "Let me call him, he might need to hear this."
Misty nodded as a sharp burn raced up Jack's arm, causing him to flinch in reaction and alarm. The YuseiGo had been driving along normally, Jack assuming that Yusei saw a car that caught his attention. There had been a brief stint where it had sped up, clearly giving chase. But now the D-Wheel was suddenly stationary as Jack's Mark began to settle down. "Shit...!" He growled earning a frown from Misty, but the woman had the smarts to not question him.
Instead she stiffened in her seat, her expression one of more focus and mounting concern. Meanwhile he forced his Marked limb to move so he could turn on the phone, worry now consuming him. 'Either Aki is the bad reading or Yusei is...' was a thought that played out in the back of his mind as he waited with unwelcomed anxiety. 'Pick up the phone Yusei.'
But the dot blinked out.
Jack frowned as the phone call was declined shifting Jack's fingers from dialing to Yusei over to Crow. The second the redhead appeared on the monitor, without any warning to Misty, Jack was already barking out words, "Crow! Have you been in contact with Yusei since the traffic accident this morning?!"
"N... no? But I'm on my way to Yusei now." Crow replied, taken off guard at Jack's urgent voice. A small side screen of a black haired woman was probably important, she wasn't Carly, but Jack was taking up most of the focus.
"Good, woman! Explain what's going on to Crow..." Jack barked out as he revved up Wheel of Fortune and pulled out from where he had been parked.
"Woman has a name Jack," Crow deadpanned with a resigned tone.
"Misty," 'The woman' answered with a faint, resigned, smile on her lips. 'Jack really does need socialization classes.'
"Hi, I'm Crow... sorry about the awkward introductions," Crow began with a faint half smile on his face.
"Yes well, its fine, I guess it is left to me to explain what's going on..." Misty answered with a faintly amused expression.
Allowing Crow to have someone to listen to as he drove through the streets of Neo Domino. As more mysticism seemed to enter his life, now with card reading fortunes in play. Carly playing a Fortune Fairy deck was no surprise, he knew that already. But the reinforcing of 'no she actually can read fortunes using them' was... Well hard to swallow. 'Ahh Crow you have the Original Duel King showing up as a ghost, a card that he gave you without even physical being present. A mark that just manifested on your arm, and people who can make these cards come to life. I think its time to throw in the towel. Life is strange and getting stranger...'
It was the last thing he could really flippantly focus on. For Misty's explanation included exactly why Jack had been chatting with her. 'The best and the worst. One of them is getting the best and one the worst... if Yusei saw Aki, then she's alive. Regardless she's clearly the 'best' fortune, which leaves Yusei with the 'worst' fortune.'
As Crow caught sight of Wheel of Fortune in the distance, the weight in his stomach made him feel as though they were going even slower. "Misty?"
"Hmm?"
"Can fate be changed? You explained it as though its set in stone, but can it be changed?" Crow asked as Jack joined him on the road.
"It depends. If it is accepted then no. Fortune telling is more a warning of what lies ahead in ones actions. If someone just accepts that fate and changes nothing, then no their future is set. If they defy fate, change their own actions, then yes, disasters, or even blessings can be adverted."
"Then we shall defy fortune!" Jack answered, his first spoken statement since Misty had begun talking to Crow. Firm and stubborn as ever, he sat less reclined on his ride as was his norm and more rigidly. Fixated.
"Says the guy literally riding a D-Wheel he dubbed 'Wheel of Fortune'," Crow replied with a tight grin on his face. Only to suddenly frown. "Shit... Ruka, she would have gotten the same signal wouldn't she?"
"Yes..." Jack replied, frowning with concern.
"How long until school is out?" Misty asked only to get a small shake of the head from Jack.
"Too soon, on one hand Ruka can also summon. On the other, it puts her health at risk to do so and if Aki is not in an 'approachable' position. We shouldn't have Ruka trying to help by putting up shields." Jack answered with Crow nodding.
"Maybe you can get Carly to pick them up? Once schools out, they'll have an adult with them so they won't race here blindly. And, you know. Adult." Crow suggested as the last position for the YuseiGo came into sight.
