The traffic had thinned out, leaving Carly driving mostly alone down a street in the warehouse district. Electricity felt as though it danced along her skin as her eyes darted to and fro as she anxiously waited for her fairies to appear. The roads were lit by streetlights, but the buildings were just varied in distances, spaced out for the needs of their owners.

While Ruka sat in the backseat her eyes glued to the front of the road and the ever approaching sign of people. Or rather, the line of robots and warriors that occupied the space before them. Invisible to the naked eye, they were eerily enough facing down the road that Carly was driving along. But that only meant that Regulus was near. "I see them! Slow down Ms. Carly!"

Kuribon was already floating out of the front of the car, her voice a joyful cry that was cut off by the glass. Her presence was enough to excite the other spirits into approaching the humans while Carly started to slow down for parking her little yellow bug. While the headlights illuminated a lonely red D-Wheel. Its presence an oppressive reminder of Yusei's absence and reading.

Regulus, meanwhile, longed to stand up and shake out his fur. The Spirits around him moved out of the way until he could see the car as it moved. Below his spirit body was Yusei's deck, the case knocked open and the cards having spilled out unto the road. The noble lions concern for the cards finally floated away as the car that carried Ruka to him stopped.

"Hurry! She needs to come here quickly!" He roared, what little power he could muster the rest was defying the air from tossing the cards away. Only the desperation from Yusei's deck was near palpable to him as they couldn't help him. Nor was he so vain as to believe it safe. Even now he could feel the evening winds try to slip underneath a card or two!

"Hurry!"

"Save us! Save us!"

Yusei's Duel Spirits began to cry out, the mechanical voices methodical in their tone while Ruka popped off the seat beat and opened the door. The cries for help that washed over as she hopped down were upsetting for the small girl. Spurring her to run straight for Regulus even as her twin nearly had a heart attack of his own.

A panicked look down the road they came, Rua ran after his sister even as he tried to remind her about cars. Yet she ran as a girl possessed, to a part of the road unlit by direct street lights. Dressed as she was she was an easy target for someone just driving along.

"Thank God you're here, Little Ruka! A car struck the deck while we waited, its been all we could do to keep them as together as we have," Regulus reported. He stood up as she dropped down in front of his chest so she could gather up the deck. His gaze going to Rua and then realized what he had done to exasperate the young childs' concern.

"Rua is correct. Please be advised, roads are not safe at night. Please be advised, roads are not safe at night."

"Oh! Oh you're right, I'm sorry Rua, everyone! I'll be quick! These are all of them right?" She asked anxiously as she pushed the spilled out cards that hadn't escaped back into their holder.

Ruka scuttled about like the bug her hairstyle made her out to be, Rua taking up the search as well. While Carly stood in the middle of the road, her bright yellow vest a visible 'hey I'm here' marker for anyone coming down the street. Away from the kids and out in the night air she turned her head to the sounds in the distance.

It was a boom echoing but not in the sense of gun fire. There was no odor in the air that hinted at smoke, but the sound began to increase. Leaving Carly at an uncomfortable crossroads while facing a darken street. 'I have the twins with me, do I assume its just the guys and I'm hearing a duel spirit fight? Cuz that would be ok to bring the kids right? But if its not... and I can't ask my deck yet can I? Ruka hasn't reported that my fairies are back...'

Envy colored her heart as she stood there, her gaze switching between the darkness before and the abandoned D-Wheel on the side of the road. 'If I could only see I could help more!' she thought in frustration, she even had a license to drive a D-Wheel. Yet...

"There she is! Easy peasy find!" En pointed with her fire tipped wand, uselessly waving at their partner.

"Nooooo! Carly's getting sad again!" Ann noted as her wings beat even harder as they flew down the road towards Carly.

The fairies chatted among themselves as they rushed ahead, to someone with Ruka or Aki's skill, they formed a near rainbow beam heading straight for Carly. Ahead of them there was a host of machine based Spirits and Regulus. But most importantly was Little Ruka and her ability to see them! En veered off towards the child while Ann kept true to Carly, and Hikari stayed at her dark counterparts' side.

"The fairies have returned," Regulus rumbled as the last card was slipped inside Yusei's deck holder.

Drawing Ruka's attention as Rua grabbed her hand letting her feel the warmth of a living hand once more. Pulling her back to the human world she was still very much a part of. But the presence of Carly's fairies was a positive sign if anything. "They've returned! Ms. Carly your fairies are back!"

The woman fairly sagged at the news, causing Ruka to realize that maybe Ms. Carly really needed her spirits. Like she needed the ability to see them for herself for confidence or something.

"Little Ruka its good and bad news time, what do you guys want first?" Swee asked as she floated up to the child her soft blue glow mingling well with the twins hair color.

"Uh... Good or bad news what do we want first?" Ruka called out for a consensus a bit blind sided by the urgency of the fairies.

"Good, we need some," Rua answered with Carly echoing the sentiment.

"We found God and he seems to be helping out!" Hikari reported first while En picked up the next sentence.

"There's Crow distracting the guards and he's got these illusion grenades from someone. We think is the fairy we spied up above!" En explained as she hovered between the twins.

"Which God is making real," Swee joined in her tone a little less excited as the 'bad' news was still on the way. "And that he has to is a bit concerning..."

"Cuz uh..." Chee began when the air was suddenly filled with squealing metal in the distance. "Yusei's chained to the ground and Aki can't see that it's Yusei she's dueling! She's using her powers as well and..." Suddenly both Ann and Hikari covered her mouth in mortification and panic as they hurriedly glanced at Ruka.

"Sis?!" Rua blinked in growing alarm as Ruka went white as she put two and two together.

"No... We need to go!" Ruka broke away from her twin and took off running towards Carly's car.

"What did they say?!" Carly asked as she followed them, as lost and confused as Rua.

"I see..." it was about the only thing 'could' say that sounded regal enough after Carly finished explaining what was going on. "I'll let Crow know, we're going to break in now, you stay out." He ordered before hanging up on Carly. It made him sound confident and in control, while internally he was horrified and worried.

Flipping the phone call over to Crow, just over the din of his own ride and helmet Jack could hear the explosions that Carly mentioned.

"Really?" Crows' voice came over the phone clearly distracted.

"We need in that place now... Bring your D-Wheel," Jack ordered as the hint of smoke touched his sense of smell.

"Working on it!" Crow answered sharply as his head ducked slightly.

Jack was quiet for all of a second before he sighed inwardly, "Little Ruka has Yusei's deck. Carly's fairies apparently have been where you are and hid but... You heard one of Divines' bastards use a kill phrase on Aki. She's out of control, she can't see or hear Yusei, and that's why they took his deck. He has no means to calm her down," Jack explained, the words tasted like poison. There would be time for regrets, once they got Yusei safe and Aki back with them.

There would be time for lots of things, but first they had to rescue Yusei.

'We need to get in there, Big Sister in that state of mind can't be broken by us! She needs Big Brother! He's the only voice that can reach through her in that state of mind!" Ruka's voice came over the phone from behind Carly's fixed and determined expression.

A reminder of just what was at stake as towering metal beams began to bend. 'I can't tell Crow that his 'grenades' are an illusion. Not yet, he needs to stay focused,' Jack thought.

"Shit... And there's gunmen out here. Be careful, I'm going to start targeting the gate on my drive bys," Crow instructed before he blinked out on the phone.

Motes of light sprang into life as Stardust soared up from the ground. A silver phoenix ascending from the grave. It was a spectacle that brought comfort to his heart, now with the added bonus of realizing it was literally a part of him. With no former Duel Kings now Gods around, he could take a moment to actually 'look' at Stardust and just... In the moments of pain and blurred visions, he found his thoughts drifting to the thought that he had this dragon living in him.

As Stardust turned his head, looking about the area, Yusei followed suit, even if the edges of his vision were darkening. When he couldn't discern the difference between his darkening vision and moving forms, Yusei chose to look up at Stardust. 'I wonder how this must look to you. You know I handed you over to Aki... did you have any feelings about that?' There were things he never really thought about regarding Stardust that now, with the immense pain he was in, came floating to the surface.

For example, he didn't realize Stardust had actual eyes. Well yes, of course the dragon had 'eyes' or rather a bit of color where the eyes were. But what had always appeared as 'yellow' in artwork and 3D animation was apparently incomplete. As the Dragon loomed over him, Yusei could see that Stardust pupils and iris' were both various notable shades of orange.

Those eyes were gazing downward at Aki, while he flexed his long fingers, a movement that telegraphed a message to Yusei. Both dragons were clearly aware of the situation and actively planning things on their own. As well as a warning that Black Rose could not be overt in her efforts, awareness even in the mad bloom that threats surrounded them.

More over a duel was a duel, if Aki gave an order they were duty bound to obey it, resisting was... well... In a nonsanctioned duel 'could' the spirits rebel? This wasn't a typical duel, all parties involved were well aware of the Spirits sentience. Or perhaps being summoned should have been liken more to an animal on a leash. That Aki was holding them here and they had to obey her commands.

"Stardust, thank you for looking after her. I just hope no one takes you away from Aki," Yusei commented his words almost a slur as he spoke up at the sleek dragon.

Stardust reached down towards Aki, his long fingers coming together as though he would pinch something. Reaching for the headset upon her head...

"Black Rose Dragon, Stardust Dragon, I order you to strike down my enemies!" Aki called out her voice eerily vacant yet maliciously cruel.

"Well crap," Stardust muttered to himself as Aki gave the command. He glanced over at Rosy and thought about it for a brief second before the metaphorical light bulb went off. 'Strike down my enemies' normally meant the opposing side of the duel field. But that was for those animated illusions of Duel Spirits.

Not the real thing.

"Yess..." Black Rose hiss with savage glee, before the ground exploded with massive roots. Completely on her own without input from Stardust. Which wasn't always a good thing. The roots erupted from the ground all around her, flailing in the air as they punched through concrete. Tearing down the scaffolding of the building before her. Screams from the people around them joined the groaning of the bending metal and cracking of concrete. A symphony to chaos where the men were swung like bells to punctuate the air in increasing speeds.

Black Rose sucked in a breath and began spewing her flames towards the incomplete structures igniting the buildings in range. Which made Stardust feel very unneeded in the 'strike my enemies' command. But a command was a command, and if he could just wiggle closer to Aki since Rosy's neck was in the way... So he opted to a bit more chaos to help give him time to work, as he targeted the buildings behind Yusei. Having been destabilized by Rosy's attack, the building was tilting towards them, so he sent his breath upward to knock back the scaffolding.

The power of his breath weapon illuminated the darkness as clear as lightning. Revealing the shattered concrete, the rising smoke and the smoldering fuel about to ignite. The sudden flash bangs of whatever was being used outside rose its own thin trails of smoke as well. While popping of guns could be heard over the walls around them.

'If she could spew and cackle," Stardust thought as he joined his breath weapon with Rosy. The light of his breath weapon illuminated the darkness even further, casting shadows along the walls. Men ran, hiding in what darkness they could find. Scurrying away like they didn't infuriate Black Rose Dragon to the Nth degree.

Burning in the flames of their breath weapons, the cowering humans burned as their voices rose into howls of pain. Several fireballs and similar attacks lit the air as a few of these people found the sense to try and fight back. All it did was give Rosy more areas to scorch with her flames. Her attacks were starting to escalate by his side and he began to spread his right wing out to cover her.

Yet as her attention was now fully on Divines' followers, her attention to the roots she unleashed on the low lost their focus. Which turned the field into a churning field of dirt, metal and concrete with Yusei chained and imprisoned by all of it. He was safely below the flames that Black Rose breathed out, but she was clearly indulging in this destruction. His legs began to get dragged into the dirt, by the time the roots had torn through the manacles his legs were knee deep in the churning mess. His wrists were no better, as the roots seemed to have abandoned getting 'all' his bindings.

Or perhaps Black Rose's madness got in the way. Now that she was free to unleash her anger everything else was negligible. The shackles were broken free from their confines, but Yusei just hurt beyond even his ability to power through...

"Rosy calm down... Rosy come back down," Stardust murmured, as he slipped his long pale hand under her neck. He saw her eyes scanning the field looking for something to kill as smoke rose from her destruction. Burning metal and earth mixed with the hint of cooking flesh while in the distance there was repeated blasts.

Black Rose could see Yusei trying to pull himself up from the ground and was confused for a moment. 'Why did he bury himself?' her roots reached out and she began pulling him back up from the ground as she was free to snap his wrist shackles. She watched as Aki's beloved painfully started walking over.

Yusei staggered over, his body aching painfully as Stardust finally got a hold of Aki's head. One wouldn't expect a dragon to move with such care or nimble of fingers. Yet Stardust was able to reach down and get a hold of the visor on Aki's head. The visor cracked, the sound sharp yet almost utterly drowned out by the chaos that Black Rose had caused.

Stardust pulled the visor off Aki, letting Yusei see and confirm for himself that she 'was' Aki. Her vacant wild expression looked about approvingly towards the destruction Black Rose caused before settling on Yusei. Amid the darkness, with only the flames to light them, he could see Aki look at him and snap out of her Witch mode...
