Rua screamed in terror.

For most time seemed to have frozen.

For 'most'.

For Ancient Fairy?

She rose out of the ground, an azure lotus, slithering as her great serpentine body tended to while propelled forward by her butterfly wings. Coiling up while she placed herself between the grieving Black Rose and the rainbow of Fortune Fairies who put themselves between the dragon and their partner. She needed not the massive size of the sun, the modest size of the moon would do to the raging fury of Black Rose.

The needle sharp thorns skidded off the protective bubble she created, "It wasn't your fault."

Ancient Fairy stared at her fellow dragon and despite her bright, youthful colors, her voice was that of wisdom and age. But most of all, sympathy. "Archfiend and I had a talk... He filled me in on what happened after the Earthbound took me away."

"Be quiet old woman!" Black Rose hissed as she pulled back her vines hell bent on whipping at the invaders of her personal space.

"It wasn't your fault. We do not control the world, we are all subject to the influences of outside forces. But it does not make you a murderess or a bad person for his death."

Black Rose squirmed and writhed in anger and distress, while Ancient Fairy's own bright colors deepened with sympathic sorrow. "As for you dear little Aki, please remember: those who fail to learn from the past are forever doomed to repeat it."

She was pushing her luck at this point, Little Ruka couldn't sustain her any longer. As much as Ancient Fairy would have liked to stay and deal with this while Black Rose was here... There was no chance for her to do so without killing her future self.

Below the dragons Carly was holding Aki tight in her arms even as she stared in awe at the conflicting energy between Ancient Fairy and Blackrose. She rested her chin on the top of Aki's head and all Carly could really think between 'Wow they're pretty' and 'Wow they're dangerous' was; 'I hate the bastard who did this to Aki.' But what could a reporter do? Aki had the power to summon the Fairies, but that wasn't as though it would help Aki. And her dragon, woah boy her 'dragon'.

"Aki the twins need you," Carly pointed out as she gave the younger girls' upper forearm a little squeeze. "Actually we all kind of need you. That is to say, can you please send Black Rose back? We can talk about what made her so angry once we're out of here, and back to the hospital to pick up Yusei."

Because they 'would' pick up Yusei, he was going to be fine and that was all that matter to Carly. Getting beat up was bad yes, but given the stories that Jack had regaled her with, nothing here sounded as bad as to keep him down for long.

"They're ok?" Aki asked, and the turn of her head caused Carly to know that at least Aki was capable of looking around. And there the twins were, though rapidly disappearing to the darkness as Ancient Fairy faded out of sight. Alive, so at least Aki didn't have to worry about having killed the twins in her... in her slaughter... "Oh Carly... I hurt Yusei... I must have hurt so many other people..."

"Not possible," Carly countered resolutely. "We would have heard about it, hell Black Rose makes herself some serious 'noise'." The reporter pointed out, "I don't know what they made you see or think. But first things first, we ground ourselves in the here and now and then piece the past back together!" In the darkness of the night, Carly's voice carried such determined brightness that Aki finally leaned into the older woman's hug.

"WHAT do you KNOW?!" Black Rose shrieked, frustration evident in her voice as she wanted to whip away these false prophets of hope. Only Aki was not supplying her with the power to be physically in the world as solidly as she was before. Forcing her to fade back into the Duel Spirit world and Stardusts waiting wings.

"Listen to the woman Aki! You have no idea how upset she, the twins, or Yusei were about your absence. Right now the important thing is for you to stop with these silly flare ups and let them look you over!" Jack boomed out the dark night causing Carly to groan.

"Jaaacccckkkkk..." Carly drawled out in annoyance at Jack. 'Note to self; look up sensitivity courses for the big lug.'

The twins, free of the fear of Black Rose, could be heard making their way through the night, as quickly and nimbly as they could. Their voices calling out to their Big Sister as though she wasn't likely to have them both smacked off the face of the planet like a golf ball. While Aki began to tremble in Carly's arms and sobs began to rack the girl.

"Come on Aki, you can ride with the twins and I. We can go to the hospital together and talk on the way there," Carly offered gently rubbing Aki's back in soothing circles. 'Finally' the wind seemed to settle down to something normal. The electric feeling in the air of anticipation, dread and raw power finally dissipating enough that she could breathe. Now all she had to do was get the girl and the twins into her car and call it an early evening. Until Yusei was released then once she got Jack home she could call it a night.

"... Black Rose wrecked Wheel of Fortune, but at the same time someone needs to get YuseiGo back to the twins Condo..." Jack 'finally' opted for a more responsible comment.

"So we need Wheel towed..." Carly began...

"Removed from the scene of a crime," Rua corrected as the twins snuggled their way into Aki's arms. "Cuz this place is pretty uh... I don't want to see it in the light of day."

"Point," Ruka replied, sleepy from the work it had taken to summon Ancient Fairy again so soon. Though she could already kind of see the yard in question, what with the Fortune Fairies floating about, yet it was Black Rose Witch in the back that had her attention. The Witch floated in the distance looking downcast and disheartened, a reminder for Ruka that 'something' happened behind the scenes. 'I should ask but I'm so sleepy...'

"I came to in a hospital," Aki began slowly, brushing her face with the tops of the twins tails. "They said that I had been found at the volcano, but it was China and everyone was in trouble so we were kept apart... Isao brought me the virtual reality headset... It wasn't new and had issues..."

"We can talk about it in the car," Carly suggested as she tried to get Aki to stand up. Rua's remark reminding her about, oh yeah, SECURITY.

But who was 'Isao'? She spoke of him as a friend, save that Carly had spoken to 'all' of Aki's friends. A painfully small list that didn't include an Isao and that name alone wasn't Chinese. 'Its not like she made friends at this supposed hospital. So whoever this guy is, his name is Japanese not Chinese. Oh who am I kidding, the guys mentioned it before, this guy must have been some kind of spy...'

The thought made her blood run cold as her investigative instincts suddenly sharpened on that thought. 'If he was a friend from the time of Arcadia, she would have not trusted him to start with. But the only other place she could have been 'friends' with him at would be at school. Only he's not been mentioned by 'anyone' of her friends, and they 'went with her' to China.' What did they 'do'?

Indeed Carly became more anxious, 'is it possible that there was a long time spy 'IN' Neo Domino High? If so? How many?' Now Carly 'wanted' to see the damage Aki did just so she could run an estimate on what that group wanted Aki 'for'! "I have my license so I can drive YuseiGo back on my own if I have to. Thankfully he has a relatively more sane designed ride than you," Carly noted aloud as she finally pulled Aki to her feet.

"Wait, you can ride a D-Wheel?" Rua asked in awe and disbelief as he felt Aki slowly slipping upwards to stand.

"Sure can!"

"No, Yusei has his D-Wheel designed so only his duel disk will activate it and Crow drove off with it as well," Jack explained. "The ride won't move save by towing." Especially after Jack had stolen the prior D-Wheel that Yusei built.

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Speeding towards the hospital \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

Water poured itself endlessly into his face, washing away even the air he needed to breath. Until Yusei finally got enough of his senses to realize that it was merely cold air, not water as he was being rushed on the back of a D-Wheel. For a time he couldn't fathom how he got back on YuseiGo, his head was pounding something fierce. He couldn't even 'feel' his limbs anymore beyond the numbing sensation and he was pretty sure his eyes were closed.

'Aki never hit that hard even when she was angry,' he thought idly to himself as he tried to suss out where he was.

"You coming back to us bro?" Crow called out over his shoulder as he felt the sluggish movements of Yusei's arms. He could see the signs directing him to the hospital and the dwindling distance between them.

'Crow? Ohh he's driving...' Yusei thought as he struggled to figure out how to push himself up a bit better. 'Why can't I move my arms?'

"Man you had us worried! First wrecking then your 'greeting' with Aki! You ever think about just giving flowers? And I don't mean her fuck off dragon!" Crow called out with forced cheer and energy. 'Fuck off is right though, I won't be happy until I get a doctor looking you over.'

So he talked for the sake of talking, conveying where they were and the distance to the hospital. Waiting for Yusei to finally start calling out questions yet the hospital loomed over them before Yusei got his head back on straight seemingly. Yusei stirred though, Crow could feel Yusei trying to free his wrists and that was all that mattered to him at the moment. 'Can't call Jack at the moment, I hope everything is ok over there...' he thought as he pulled into the emergency entrance.

While above them Honest looked down from the top of the hospital. 'I wish there was an excuse I could create to justify telling the guys at school...' But nothing came to mind. There was no reason for Yusuke to be walking in that district at night. 'I guess the gang will find out at school, I just hope that this is enough to earn the school His protection...' He thought before he looked off in the distance.

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

Jack strode over to Wheel and pulled the D-Wheel upright to try and roll it out off the grounds. 'This is a mess.. No way to hide her before morning is there? I suppose Aki could dead lift this with those spirits, but...' A glance over his shoulder revealed the group moving off towards Carly's car. He could hear Aki talking over the quiet of the yard. Her comments making him want to punch a wall as he recalled Carly's reports.

'She said that this 'Isao' person was with her, she's talking about him the way she talks about her friends in school. But Carly never talked to an Isao from school. He was there when we found YuseiGo, he has to be working for Divine.. So has he been in the school this whole time?' Just the thought of that name was enough to infuriate Jack. The bastard that killed Carly, the same bastard that clearly was responsible for Yusei's wreck and this whole night, hell the whole absence of Aki?

If Godwin were still alive, he could probably have gotten the man to find out more now... could... could Kaiba do it? The man was virtually a Yakuza boss given how much control he had over the city and not be anything more than a gaming console manufacturer. But Kaiba was used to strong personalities and Jack couldn't imagine that he would have any influence over what the man would and would not do.

But that this Isao bastard was around, if Jack had known to start with him, Jack would have just slugged the ass when they first met.

Yet for all his internal bravado it did nothing against the cold pit in the base of his stomach. All their battles with the Earthbound Gods aside, they were teens, and Divine was older than them. With who knew how many limbs out manipulating events around them. They were supposed to be powerful, with their dragons and powers among their members. Yet here they were, Yusei off to the hospital, Aki not trusting her own judgement or mind.

Jack wasn't an investigator like Carly was, but he 'had' at least been able to check on Divine. For which the man was still in jail and not leaving... 'But really what charges did they have on the man? Carly's not dead and... and... how 'is' he being kept in jail? Is Misty's brother still enough to hold him there? But that requires him being killed recently, right?' Outrage and frustration sent Jack growling into the night as he worked to get Wheel off the grounds.

"Big Brother? You going to be ok?" Rua asked, popping over to check on the towering duelist.

"I'm not the one that Divine has foolishly messed with!" Jack roared before forcing himself to calm down. "Little Rua, how is Aki?"

"She's in the car, what she's talking about sounds a bit weird but makes sense," Rua reported, unflinching from Jacks' roar given the noise he had already faced. "She said the VR system was messed up, showed practice dummies. I guess they wanted her to think she was dueling just computer opponents so maybe she dueled other people. But she's so upset..." Rua looked down, before following the blond.

"I want you and your sister to keep an eye on each other. I don't trust that Divine doesn't have agents everywhere." Jack instructed as he realized the danger the school itself clearly was vulnerable to. Sure Aki could look after things on her own 'now', but she was in a different grade from the pair. More over no one needed her or her spirits storming through a school building just to rescue the pair, if for no other reason than it would destroy the building itself.

While still sitting on the wall Yugi had Kuriboh sitting on his lap purring softly. "I wonder if this is what it feels like for parents at a sporting event. You want to cheer your kids on, and you feel bad when they take lumps..."

The site was a disaster zone. Even if the kids couldn't see the level of destruction that Aki had unleashed, Yugi could. The concrete that had been laid out for the building had been pulverized into dust in multiple areas. Beams that had been put into place had been bent, twisted, or splintered by Black Rose Dragon. The ground was churned enough to make for good farming use if not for all the screws, nails, and other assortment of things that got dropped into it. While a small pool of water was forming from some newly broken underground pipe.

Outside were broken robots strewn along the ground from where they had been blown up. If Seto was awake at all, the CEO would probably be annoyed that someone copied his designs. They weren't exact copies, but Seto would care that the core tech was used for this. As far as he would be concerned, copyrights be damned, he made the first robot and this would require a lawsuit. "I think I miss Seto... How long have they all been sleeping?"

Seto was the odd one, because he 'did' manage to wake up at least partially at some point. Yugi's dais now having Mai and Valon sleeping upon it as well. Yugi could guess when the pair showed up, but he couldn't quite believe that Seto was able to wake up enough to rescue them. Only to then 'go back to sleep'! Why couldn't that General wake up enough to help Yugi find the way back to their own home?! He could sleep when he was dead!

The little spirits' eyes popped open before it lifted itself off of Yugi's lap. Since the best it could do was float itself around to face Yugi before bobbing in the air. Yugi stood on the air tilting his head just enough to invite Kuriboh to sit on his shoulder, an indicator that they were about to depart. "Let's go visit the hospital, see what the little bird got accomplished."
