CHAPTER 23

A/N: I have read the Wayne family adventures and will not consider any other type of behavior of batman with his children. That yes is our bat and that is the basis I have for this story, that Bruce has the same way about him. If you expect a Bruce Wayne as a bad father, you're going to be disappointed here. (Although some alternate Robins here have these Bruce Wayne jerk as a father.)

Yes, I saw that DC is introducing a possible new Robin, but this story is already fully planned out and there is no way to add another one... maybe a next one.

Thank you for the comments

''I think it's past time for me to talk to you guys.''

''I agree.'' B.J exclaimed, taking off his mask.

Everyone followed suit.

''I agree boss, this took too long.'' Jason leaned on Tim's right shoulder, who didn't know whether to be excited or scared by the previous Robin's action, opting for excited, Tim nodded in agreement.

''My father knows very well the moment to speak.'' Damian looked at the pair. He hadn't gotten the last name of any of them since he arrived, besides Grayson, apparently Stephanie had commented on his habit of calling everyone by their last name.

''I have to agree with Jason, B takes a long time to speak and only speaks when he trusts the person.'' Tim turned to the bat in the room. ''Although you are more quiet and open than my Batman.''

''Then I guess you guys better enjoy it, because this one is mine.'' Dick puffed out his chest and cracked a smile.

Steph held back from hugging the younger boy as she told him how cute he was. The Dick Grayson of her world was like that at that age... No, don't think about it Steph, don't go there, they will ask why you are crying! she thought as she calmed down.

Luckily none of them noticed her inner turmoil.

''No, he's Helena's too now.'' Carrie smiled.

''And in a while from them too.'' BJ pointed to the trio Jason, Tim and Damian.

''Okay, when we find them, I'll split B, but right now he's mine.''

''Tt Grayson, I didn't know you were jealous.''

''He's literally jealous of everyone!'' B.J exclaimed.

''A mother chicken.'' Tim agreed.

''And he's also very bossy...'' Jason pointed out.

''I'm listening!''

''Oh, sorry, we didn't see you there.'' Carrie placed her hand on her forehead, and Rochelle giggled at the thirteen-year-old's pout.

Bruce cracked a rare smile at their interaction, he was afraid that they might not enjoy each other's company and he would have to split the group in two to ensure everyone's safety, don't ask, this was pure paranoia. While thinking about this, Bruce realized something, they know that he has already started looking for the boys, this proves another theory about their training.

"You are already looking for them aren't you? Rochelle asked and Bruce looked at his surprised alternative sister.

Once again, very well trained, everyone. Incredible.

He nodded. ''I started yesterday.''

''Knowing you, I know you'll find them in no time.''

Bruce didn't like aliens much, shut up Clark, but he had M'gann to thank for the translation.

''You have questions.'' Damian sat down on the couch, looking at his father intently.

''I think we all do.'' B.J leaned back against the back of the couch, his feet underneath him.

''He wouldn't be Batman if he didn't have it.'' Carrie agreed.

''Bruce has always been curious like that...at least my Bruce.'' Rochelle looked at her older brother, but before he could say anything, Jason interrupted.

''You can tell, he's stubborn.''

''Bruce we love you.'' Steph smiled.

Damian snorted and crossed his arms in front of his chest. For the first time since his arrival he acted his age. "If that's love, then you don't really need enemies, father.

The room laughed.

''I want to know more about you.'' Bruce leaned forward. ''Everyone is from different eras, and I know Zatara and the league are looking for each other's worlds, but I want to know your stories. To know how similar our worlds are, and maybe find you here in the middle of the road.''

Steph leaned back on the couch, reading between the lines of her mentor's (father's?) speech. Bruce wondered if he could stop some of the events that occurred on each world. Judging by Carrie arriving first and talking about her world and the lack of the justice league because of the government, Steph didn't doubt that the league wouldn't compromise much with the government here.

Smart move. Of course it was smart, the man is Batman for crying out loud.

She just didn't know if it was worth talking about her world. The chances of it occurring here are slim to none, but they still existed...not yet. Batman would quarantine everyone in the league as soon as they arrived from missions in space...which was the right thing to do from the start.

No, not yet. Maybe later.

She still didn't have the courage to talk about it. About them.

Tim looked at this alternative (and older) version of his girlfriend. She was hiding something. Something big.

Something he would ask about later. His Steph had never been able to keep a secret from him before, maybe this one would be the same.

''Translation, he wants to know exactly how hard to deal with each one is.'' B.J smiled.

''He's right to be concerned, from the stories I've heard...'' Carrie held up her hands.

Rochelle smiled at that. Maybe she would convince her own brother to consider adopting.

''Okay, what starts then?'' Jason rubbed his hands together.

''Order of arrival maybe?'' B.J asks.

Everyone looks at Carrie, who looked at Dick and then at the rest of the room. ''He's the resident Robin, technically he arrived first.''

Everyone looked at him.

''But you all already know the story.''

''I don't.'' Rochelle put her hand to her chest to emphasize the point.

''That's manipulation. You learned that from Alfred, didn't you?''

She smiled.

Bruce turns to his sister. ''Does Alfred exist in your time?''

Rochelle snorted. ''Of course Alfred exists in my time, who else would I learn etiquette and fencing from?''

''Pennyworth teaches fencing?

''Yes.'' Rochelle, Dick, Tim and Jason respond with a nod.

Damian nods to himself. ''I'll have to do a practice session with him when I get back.''

Carrie laughed and put her feet up on the couch she was sitting on. ''I wanted to see that. OW!'' She took her feet off the couch when she received a slap on the leg from Rochelle, who stared at her with a raised eyebrow.

She certainly spent a lot of time with Alfred.

"I really want to hear this story.'' Steph exclaimed, turning everyone's attention back to the subject.

"Okay, okay. Okay. Well, I'm Richard, but my nickname is Dick...''

''What is this, a therapy session? I thought Canary was the therapist here.'' Jason interrupts and deflects a batarang seconds later.

''Rochelle doesn't know me yet idiot.''

''Language.''

''I think you better get used to it B, they're going to be like that most of the time.'' Steph cracks a small smile.

Bruce sighs and looks at his son, ''Go on Dick.''

Jason laughed and received another look from the younger boy as Dick continued the story.

"Wait, you have uncles? Tim interrupted this time.

Dick stared at him. ''Uh yeah?

''Your version of us didn't. It was just the three of you.'' Jason completes. B.J and the others nod and Dick is surprised by this.

Just him and his parents? How? He couldn't imagine his life in the circus without his uncles walking back and forth with his parents, they were all so close. Did they even exist in the world of these other Robins? He didn't think so. After all, if they did exist he wouldn't be with Bruce and none of them would become Robin.

The boy shook his head and continued to speak the quick explanation, from his early days as Robin to the formation of the team.

''Okay, some parts are similar to the stories I've heard, but your story has very different points.'' B.J exclaims.

''Nothing here makes sense, I mean, this world has mixed up the original Teen Titans with my generation and some new ones!'' Tim mutters to himself.

''We already understood that everything is different Timothy, no need to repeat it.'' Damian rolls his eyes.

''I think that's enough coffee for you Tim.'' Steph mutters to herself.

''I wonder if a robin from the future is coming. You know, to balance with the ones from the past.'' Jason exclaims out of nowhere.

''It's a good question actually.'' Dick looks at his mentor.

''Maybe.'' Bruce shrugs his shoulders. He really had no idea. The analyses were too slow for his liking.

The room fell silent before Tim looked at Carrie. ''Now it's your turn.

''I confess I'm curious myself.'' Steph also looks at her.

''Okay, I turned Robin completely without any training other than gymnastics. I guess I could say I forced the bat to train me.''

''That makes two of us.'' Tim smiled.

''You too?''

He nodded.

''Wow, okay, I didn't expect that. Maybe it's something from the third Robin...''

"Carrie.'' Bruce called out to her.

"What? Oh, okay, I got off track, sorry.'' She gave a dull smile. ''Anyway. The bat had just come back from retirement...''

Dick listened intently to the story, filing away the main points and differences between the worlds.

Bruce was doing the same on the other side of the room, his mask was recording everything. (Which he thought they didn't know existed, but Tim found the file after hacking into the batcomputer and warned the rest.)

Everyone told their stories, Steph was still very resistant about her world, so she told the basics, that she, Damian and Jason were the only survivors of the Batfamily, the others looked terrified, but she assured them it was something unique that would only happen in her own world. Which made Damian the Batman and her Robin again. She still didn't go into detail about what happened or tell about the virus. No, she wanted to talk to Tim first and then Bruce.

Cassandra was also a shock to everyone, Rochelle asked if they would meet her, but Steph explained it was unlikely as Cass was never a Robin, Bruce added her to his even bigger list in his mind.

How many children would he get out of this mess with?
