CHAPTER 24

Kara didn't want to hear the bats talk. She really didn't want to...

But hearing Bruce interact with the Robins was really nice. She really missed it.

Looking at Helena, she sighed. At first it would be difficult, but the girl would get used to it. The good thing was that they had the advantage of knowing some events. They could prevent that from happening in this world. And maybe find the brothers' counterparts a few years earlier.

Helena had recently slept and the Kryptonian was bored. Yes, she had taken a laptop to do research on this world to find out about the main differences and could use the machine to watch a movie or video, or even read something, but the conversation on the other side of the mountain was much more interesting.

She stifled a laugh when B.J spoke. Really, Bruce was smart to know in advance about each Robin he would have to create. All were synonymous with problems. Literally. And now with Helena here, Kara didn't doubt the bat was already looking for his children. Oh wait until he knows about the batgirls. Alfred would definitely get a raise.

At that thought, Kara let out a low laugh. Oh Bruce was screwed.

She settled on the sofa in the corner of the room. They had offered a separate room in the infirmary, but the alien didn't want to leave Helena, so Clark brought a couch here. Kara continued listening to their conversation for a few minutes after that before sleep claimed her.

Bruce sat at the batcomputer hours later. The conversation with the robins took longer than he expected, but it wasn't bad. In fact, it was very... nice talking to them. Since he took in Dick, he didn't have to pretend to be Brucie Wayne or be fully Batman, he could be himself, just be 'B', as Dick and now the boys called him. And Bruce had a feeling that with the others, well, their counterparts here, it would be the same.

He left the mountain after everyone had settled into their rooms. Dick had his own room on the mountain, the boys filled the room given to them with Damian's arrival. The girls had a spare bed while Helena was in the infirmary healing with Supergirl. They would definitely need to move into the mansion if the next one to arrive is a boy.

'I see you've returned, Master Bruce. Still nothing about Master Richard's return?" Alfred asked as he came downstairs with a cup of hot coffee.

''Not yet, Al. Zatara said there are still alternate Robins to come."

''I understand. And do you intend to bring them to the mansion sometime?"

''Only if we don't have any more rooms on the mound of justice.'' It was no use trying to trick Alfred, he always seemed to know what Bruce thought.

The butler nods and watches his son open a file, the same file he's been working on since the first Robin, Carrie, arrived.

"I see I'll have to prepare rooms for Misses Rochelle and Helena and Master Damian then." He spoke as he read over the bat's shoulder.

Bruce cracked a smile. Alfred had prepared rooms for each new Robin that arrived and would apparently continue to do so until Bruce took them to the mansion.

''This is called blackmail!''

"I see how I prepare." Was the butler's reply as he walked away.

Bruce flashed a rare little smile before returning to the computer.

The search over the last few days wasn't a total waste of time after all. He managed to find Tim Drake... and learn about his history. The bat shook its head, no wonder Tim managed to sneak away night after night to take pictures of him and Jason. The Drakes left the boy alone in the house for months, even now that happened. And Tim is only seven years old...

That was a matter for later, Dick could get close to the boy and Bruce could get proof of the Drakes' negligence. Tim wouldn't be alone.

Jason had said he was from Crime Alley. This greatly reduced the search radius. From what Stephanie said, Jason was three years older than Tim in his world, Tim confirmed it was the same in his world if he didn't count on Jason's resuscitation. This information brought turmoil from the boy in question, as well as the others, but neither Steph nor Tim knew how he came back to life, they only knew that he had plunged into the lazarus pit. Anyway, if it's the same here, then Bruce was looking for a 10-year-old boy with black hair who was probably alone and stealing for a living in crime alley of all places.

Cassandra was his age from what Steph informed him, but she could be literally anywhere.

Bruce rubbed his eyes at that. This could take weeks, months, but that's okay, this Jason will have a different fate than the others. A fate that Jason Todd, who is on the mountain, escaped thanks to the multiverse machine that brought him here. And if other versions of him managed to find Cassandra, then so would he...although he'd been looking for years sooner than expected.

Returning to typing on the bat computer, Bruce added the new details to the R report. As well as including Damian in it. Damian was another one he needed to look for. BJ had no chance of existing here, as the only Kate Kane he knows is his cousin and she is a lesbian. Helena doesn't exist here either, Selina was on active duty stealing jewelry and had no chance of being pregnant. Damian had a chance to exist here and he didn't know, a lot of chances. Talia had told him that she'd lost the baby, but now seeing Damian, the chance of that being a lie was too great.

Of the other Robins, the only one he was 100% sure didn't exist was Rochelle, but the others could have existed there. And if there were, he would find them.

Strange, five years ago he never thought about building a family, raising children. Did Dick really change him so much that he wanted to adopt all these robins?

An hour later on Mount Justice.

The shadows positioned themselves at the entrances to the heroes' base, awaiting orders.

The Deathstroke leaned against the control panel of the nearby craft. If asked for his opinion, this operation was happening too soon. They knew where the heroes' base was located, they didn't need to hurry. Furthermore, the machine was previously configured for 18 people.

It was ridiculous to be in a hurry when only half of those they wanted had arrived, but anyway, he was getting paid and that was what mattered.

Talia watched the mountain curiously. Her sources had confirmed the arrival of another bird. One that interested her intensely and the reason the operation was brought forward. Her father, and she didn't want to wait to meet her heir. Well, the 12-year-old version of her heir. She smiled, he would be a fierce warrior without a doubt and that would tell you how much.

Her orders were to carry out the attack, first subdue the team and then move on to the alternate Robins. If the Robins stop the ninjas, great, their training would show, if they were captured, well the LIGHT would make good use of their training sooner than expected.

The informant informed them that the Kryptonian would not be there, which was perfect. Looking at the nearest ninja, she nodded.

He bowed and walked over to the communicator.

Slade snorted.
