A/N Cool. Enjoy!

Chapter Five:

When Duncan woke up the next morning, it only took ten minutes to realize he preferred the Villain Team.

No offense to these guys, but they really aren't my style.

Sam whimpered all night, mourning the loss of his GameGuy. Every time Duncan thought he'd fallen asleep, he would start crying again. Combined with the fact that Mike kept talking in his sleep (Duncan tried listening, but his voice was too quiet), he had another sleepless night.

"Good morning, everyone," Cameron stretched his arms.

"Yeah, good morning," Duncan mumbled into a pillow.

"God, you know what?" Sam was sitting up in bed. "For a moment… Right when I woke up… the pain was gone. Until it all came back to me," he broke down into sobs again.

Duncan looked at both Cameron and Mike, but they were staring at Sam, completely unsure of what to do.

Seriously? I'm not listening to this all day.

"Aren't you guys gonna say anything?" He asked Cameron and Mike.

Mike looked shocked to be addressed directly, and Cameron looked like he'd rather die than ask Sam to stop what he was doing.

"Um, I'd rather not…" Cameron rubbed his hands together.

Spineless.

"Sam," Duncan spoke to him directly. "You have to stop. I'm sorry about your GameGuy, but you're taking this too far. You can buy another one when you get home."

I'm sure he can afford it.

"You don't understand," he blubbered.

"No, I don't. I have no idea why you're acting like this. But you have to stop crying. If not for yourself, then for the rest of us who have to listen to you."

"You're being harsh…" Cameron mumbled.

"Really, Cameron? Then what's your advice?"

"Look, Sam," Cameron tried to comfort his friend. "You just-"

"Wahhh," Sam let out a particularly loud wail, which caused Cameron to take a few quick steps back.

"I have nothing," he admitted. "Mike?"

"Sorry, I don't do well with these types of things…" he smiled apologetically.

Wait a second…

"Why don't we get some breakfast?" Cameron cut off his train of thought. "Maybe that'll take your mind off it."

"I guess…" Sam spoke weakly.

"C'mon, let's go."

Zoey was already waiting in the kitchen by the time the guys arrived. She didn't want to stay in that empty room any longer than she had to.

It was so lonely in there…At least Sierra will be back tonight.

"Mornin', Zoey," Mike smiled as he walked into the kitchen. "How'd you sleep?"

Hardly at all.

"Fine," she stood up and kissed him.

"Good to hear," he smiled.

The other guys were trailing behind him. Sam kept sniffling, and Duncan didn't try to hide the irritation from his face.

"Hi guys," she spoke cautiously. "How'd you sleep?"

"That's a great question, Zoey," Duncan acknowledged. "Sam, would you like to tell her?"

"I, I just, I can't…" he whimpered, then started sniffling even harder.

"All. Night." Duncan gritted his teeth.

"Oh wow. Um, Sam, you need to hang in there," Zoey suggested.

I know that's not helpful…

"So," Cameron explained. "I decided, well, Duncan made me say something. So I suggested we get breakfast."

I didn't make you do anything...

"Oh?" Zoey raised an eyebrow.

"Spend a night with this as your soundtrack," Duncan defended himself, "and you'll understand."

"Let's just focus on winning the challenge," Mike insisted nervously.

Is he trying to undermine me?

Duncan resisted the urge to ball his fists and instead grabbed a piece of toast.

"Oh! We have to bring food for Sierra," Zoey remembered.

"Yeah, what's this thing you guys do?" Duncan asked.

"We just bring food for whoever goes to Boney Island," Cameron explained as he grabbed an orange.

"I see."

"I take it they weren't doing that on your old team?" Zoey smiled.

"You guessed correctly. If one of those guys offered me food, it would be laced with anthrax."

"That's not ideal."

"Nope," Duncan took another bite of toast.

"Sorry, are you eating that plain?" Cameron looked at the bread in bewilderment.

"Yep."

And don't bother me about it.

"Sam, aren't you going to eat anything?" Zoey asked her teammate.

"I don't know if I can stomach it…"

"Alright, I'm gonna order french toast-"

"Fine, I'll have some."

"...Ok."

Good, at least he'll eat…

Duncan watched this exchange as he grabbed another piece of toast for Sierra, just so he wouldn't be ostracized.

So, does Zoey need to mother everybody on this team? I really hate it…Sam can get his own food if he needs it so badly.

"Alright," Mike poured a glass of orange juice. "So, what's the plan for today?"

"Right, it'll be so different without Courtney here," Zoey mused. "Much… nicer."

"You can say that again..." Mike agreed.

"I'm sure nobody will miss being screamed at all the time," Cameron smiled until his eyes landed on Duncan, who was staring at him blankly.

They don't like her? I mean, they're allowed to not like her, but they shouldn't say that type of shit, they don't even know her.

"Um, sorry," Cameron realized quickly.

"Why are you apologizing- oh," Zoey noticed the look on Duncan's face. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

Damn it. Why did I say that?

"Oh, sorry, I didn't realize…" Zoey tried to cover up what she said.

"What, you guys don't like her?" Duncan asked.

God, he's gonna be so mad…

"It's not that," Zoey scrambled, "it's, well, she can be a little intense sometimes. I'm sure you know."

"I do know. She's one of my closest friends. So…"

"No, I know, we're sorry," Zoey looked intensely uncomfortable.

And of course, she speaks for the group.

"Look," Duncan sighed. "I know some of the girls said earlier that filming the first few seasons were really difficult. And they weren't exaggerating. So, cut her a break, yeah?"

Zoey nodded vigorously, while Mike and Cameron just stared. Sam, of course, was still sniffling.

Alright, he doesn't seem too upset…

"Alright, campers! Get ready for your next challenge!" Chris yelled from outside. "We're turning on the cameras!"

"We got this, guys!" Zoey tried to rouse everyone's spirits. "I'm sure we'll win again! Sam, I know you can pull it together for this challenge, right?"

"Right," he nodded. "Just for the challenge."

The Hero team trailed out of the Spa Hotel. Zoey hung back with her boyfriend.

"So that was awkward…" she started.

"Hmm?" Mike tilted his head.

"The whole Courtney thing."

"Yeah, well… I still don't know what to believe… Obviously a lot of drama happened, but I don't want to know."

"I know, right? Ugh! I want to ask so badly… But I know I can't."

"I don't think it's worth it…"

"I know, I know," Zoey shook her head.

"Besides… I don't know if we can trust any one side."

"Hmm?" This caught her attention. "You think he did something?"

"I have no idea. I'm just saying… I don't think anybody here is exactly trustworthy."

"Is that why you didn't apologize for gossiping about Courtney?"

"What?" He looked panicked.

Oh, why did I say that? Why am I causing a problem?

"Actually, you're right, it's not worth getting involved…"

They joined the other members of the team outside. Sierra was also standing there, apparently having survived Boney Island with no issue.

"Sierra, you're ok!" Cameron smiled and handed over the food he'd taken earlier.

"Of course I am, Cody-Bear!" She picked him up and held him in a tight hug. "You kept me going through it all!"

"Woah, what the fuck?" Gwen asked as the Villains walked over. Duncan took the opportunity to catch up with his old teammates.

"Oh, this is exactly what it looks like," he grinned as he met Gwen. "How's the Villain team looking now?"

"Well, I guess not as bad now that Jo's gone."

"Hey, Courtney!" Duncan smiled when he spotted her. "How's the new team?"

"I'm living the dream. Today, we all got to watch Scott eat an entire pile of gruel."

"Oh, that's hot."

"Tell me about it. Why is Sam crying?" Courtney noticed him sniffling.

"Hmm? Oh, someone broke his GameGuy, so he's completely fallen apart."

"What the fuck is a GameGuy?"

"I don't even know, some sort of video game thing."

"Ah, Duncan!" Alejandro strolled over (still on his hands). "How are you doing, now that you're on the Hero team?"

Great, what's his angle?

"I'm doing fine, Alejandro."

"Yes, I thought you would be," he smiled.

"I see your legs still aren't up to par? That's disappointing."

"He says his legs aren't working," Heather cut in. "I still don't believe him."

"Well, Heather," Alejandro was unfazed. "I'm sure the truth will make itself known."

"Yeah, we'll see about that," she glared at him.

"Alright, listen up!" Chris announced. "Today, we're doing an eating challenge!"

Damnit.

Duncan could already feel his stomach doing flips.

"You good?" Gwen whispered.

"When am I not?"

"You'll be completing an obstacle course and eating as many pancakes as possible, all while not throwing up!"

"Seriously?" Scott questioned. "That seems tame."

"Shut up, Scott," Courtney hissed.

"Very well, then!" Chris grinned. "Since you asked, we'll be adding… the Salad Spinner!"

"Nice, Scott," Heather crossed her arms.

"I didn't think he'd do anything about it," Scott tried to defend himself.

An eating challenge… Well, that's not too bad. At least I didn't eat too much breakfast!

"Also, another reminder that the McLean Brand Immunity Idol is still buried on this island! I'd get working on that. Hehe. Now, follow me to your challenge!"

Duncan felt like he was marching towards his death.

God, why does it have to be an eating challenge… Who knows what disgusting shit is in that food? How long has it been sitting out there? I'm sure there's worms crawling across the table, burrowing their way into the food, laying eggs-

"Yeah, you're not looking too good," Courtney commented. He didn't even notice she was there.

"I'm fine."

"Volunteer to go first," she suggested. "There's less pressure on the first person than the last person."

She has a good point…

"You're right. Thanks, Courtney," he smiled.

"Yeah, yeah. Anytime."

When the teams arrived at the challenge, Duncan noticed there was only one pile of pancakes for each team.

Oh my God, everyone's mouths are on the same piece of food… Old wet pieces of food stuck in their teeth making their way onto the pancakes for the next person to eat…

"I'll go first," Duncan offered to the rest of his team.

"Oh! Thank you," Zoey smiled.

That's so nice of him, it's always terrible to go first. I guess he really wants us to do well.

"Good luck," Cameron encouraged him.

"Oh!" Chris remembered. "One other thing! There are traps in the pancakes, hehe…"

No no no… Ok, we're still on TV, there can't be anything in there too crazy. Just do it, don't think about it...

"On your marks, get set, go!"

Duncan and Gwen ran towards the pancakes.

"Just so you know," Duncan murmured. "This is my hell."

"I figured. Dig in."

Duncan took a handful of pancake, examining it for any defects.

Alright, so far so good.

He put the piece into his mouth and chewed.

Keep going…

Duncan repeated this process several times, ignoring the cheering of his teammates. He wasn't running into too much trouble until he took another handful to reveal a small family of crabs inside of the pancakes.

Crabs… Living in the food. Sticking their feet in the food. Who knows where they've been? What sort of ocean slime they brought here…

He choked back the vomit rising in his throat. There was no way he could eat another bite. Figuring he may as well not waste time, he ran for the obstacle course, Gwen close behind him. She wasn't looking too good either.

"Duncan, I'm probably gonna vomit," she whimpered.

"Gwen please don't throw up on me-"

Too late. She puked all over him.

Duncan had no idea how he didn't pass out.

"And, Gwen's out!" Chris screamed. Duncan couldn't even hear him.

Keep going…

He climbed into the salad spinner and sealed his eyes closed.

Oh God…

When the machine finally stopped, he climbed out and stumbled over towards Chris.

"The next Hamster can go!" Chris announced.

"Chris… can I throw up now?" He looked at his host with wide eyes.

"Sure, if you want. You're lucky you didn't find the fish eyes I hid in those pancakes."

...Nope.

Duncan threw up all over the ground next to Chris' feet.

"Hey, don't hit my shoes!"

"Fuck off, Chris," Duncan sauntered back to his team.

"Hey, good job!" Zoey smiled. Cameron was already at the pancakes. "At least you finished your turn without throwing up!"

"Yeah," he sat down. "Guess so."

That was so disgusting…

Zoey and Duncan watched as Cameron scarfed down as many pancakes as possible, then ran towards the obstacle course. He climbed into the salad spinner, which sent him flying towards the trees.

Duncan couldn't help but snicker at that. He could hear Mike doing the same.

"What?" Zoey narrowed her eyes at both of them.

Cameron's trying his best, they can't just laugh at him.

"Sorry," Duncan put his hands up. "It's just… maybe he should hold on tighter."

Still, he managed not to throw up.

Zoey went next.

Alright, here goes nothing…

She ran towards the pancakes.

Let's see here… I don't want to take too much at once, or I could pick up a trap. So, a lot of quick small bites.

Unfortunately, a small swarm of bees crept out of the pancakes, swarming around her.

"Ahh!" She shrieked. "Are those bees!?" She started to run.

"Zoey, you got this!" Mike cheered her on.

Duncan couldn't help but roll his eyes.

Gross.

Thankfully, she made it through the obstacle course without any issue.

So she's athletic… Well, I knew that from last season.

Still, she finished the obstacle course without issue.

And she didn't even throw up. Damnit.

"Great job, Zoey," Mike grinned as she returned and he prepared to take his turn.

"Aw, thanks! Good luck."

Mike ran towards the pancakes.

Let's see what she's all about…

"Wow, Zoey, look at you go!" Duncan smiled.

"Thank you," she smiled and sat next to him.

"Hey, did you have the pleasure of passing my pile of vomit on the grass?"

Aw, he's upset he threw up. Well, it's not a big deal or anything.

"Unfortunately. But it's alright! You still passed the challenge."

Does she think I'm upset or something?

"Hmm? Oh, I don't care about that. I was gonna say, I think I threw up on Chris' shoes a bit," he grinned. "Don't say anything."

"No way," she was amazed.

"Swear to God. Look closely, maybe you can see little chunks of pancakes. If you can stomach it, that is."

"And he didn't notice?"

"Not at all."

"He'd probably sue you for damages," she smiled.

So she has a sense of humor…

"Oh, of course. Or, he'd try to trademark vomit-covered shoes. You know, start a new fashion trend."

"I could get behind that. Maybe not right now though. I am trying to keep down a pound of pancakes."

"And how's that going for you?"

"Well, I haven't puked or passed out," she shrugged.

"It's the little things."

"That it is," she covered her mouth. "Sorry, you smell like throw-up."

"Really? I didn't notice. I thought someone's cologne was too strong."

She laughed at that.

Alright, I like him. In a friendly way, of course. But he's easy to talk to, and he has a good sense of humor. Nothing seems to bother him. So different from the rest of this team…

They watched as Mike hit a trap in the pancakes that launched him directly into the salad spinner.

"Oh my God, Mike!" She stood up and covered her mouth.

Mike…

"I'm alright!" He declared as he staggered out of the Salad Spinner. "All good."

"I'll go next!" Sierra cheered as she ran towards the pancakes.

Zoey and Cameron both ran over to their dazed contestant. Duncan just watched from his spot on the grass.

Is he hurt? I should've been paying more attention…

"You promise you're alright?" Zoey grabbed his arm.

"Yup, I'm all good," Mike reassured her.

"He seems to be fine," Cameron noted.

"Oh, thank God," Zoey kissed her boyfriend. "As long as you're sure."

Oh my God, he's fine, just drop it already.

Moments later, the Salad Spinner made a screeching noise as it began to spin even more rapidly, throwing Courtney into a tree.

"Ah, that's weird, hehe," Chris looked at Courtney in concern. "It's not supposed to do that."

Hmm…

Duncan looked at Mike for a moment, then at the Salad Spinner, then Courtney.

Gotcha.

He ran over to Courtney, just to see if she was ok. Gwen was right behind him.

"Courtney! You good?"

"Erghh… I hate this show," she whimpered.

"That sounds like her," Gwen smiled in relief.

"Someone get me out of this tree."

Duncan was barely tall enough to reach her.

"God, you're so short…" she complained as she tried to find her way down.

"Yeah, yeah," he offered her a hand. "It's not up to me."

"Alright!" Chris announced. "Each team only has one more contestant left, and the score looks about tied!"

All of the contestants looked to see who would be competing. Sam was going to compete against Alejandro.

Oh, we're fucked.

I know you can do it, Sam!

"Let's go, Sam!" Zoey cheered.

"Well," Duncan explained to his friends, "I guess I have to go watch this shitshow."

"Have fun," Gwen waved.

Duncan walked back over to the Heroes team, where they were all cheering on Sam.

Oh, fine…

"You got this, Sam!" Duncan yelled as he watched both contestants scarf down pancakes.

"I guess it comes down to who can reach the end faster," Cameron explained.

"They're both eating a lot," Zoey observed. "It's gonna be close."

"Please," Alejandro smiled at his opponent after he'd finished eating. "You think I'm going to lose to a Game Child?" He started hand-running across the obstacle course.

"I'm not a Game Child!" Sam stood up. "I'm a Game Man! Time to power up!"

Oh, dude, you don't make it easy for yourself.

"Ugh," Mike visibly winced.

"I know," Zoey shook her head. "Just let him do his thing."

He's got to win after giving that line…

Sam chased after Alejandro and tackled him, shoving them both into the Salad Spinner.

"Come on, Sam…" Zoey looked on intensely.

When the Spinner stopped moving, both teams eagerly waited to see who would emerge first. When Sam hit the ground before Alejandro, the other members of Duncan's team erupted into cheers.

Yes! I knew he could do it!

I'm just glad we don't have to stay in the cabins…

Sierra tackled Sam in a hug when he came back.

"Team hug!" She squealed.

Um, no way. Besides, I'm still covered in vomit.

"Ah, hard pass," Duncan smiled.

"And, the Heroes win again!" Chris announced. "Villains, I'll see you at elimination!"

"Hey, Duncan?" Gwen called from behind him.

"Yeah?" He walked over to her. "What's up?"

"Wanna go for a walk?" She suggested. "Maybe talk for a bit?"

Hmm, what's going on?

"Yeah, sure," he followed her away from his team.

"You're not gonna celebrate with us?" Cameron called after him.

"Nah, I'll catch up with you guys later!" Duncan yelled back. "So, Gwen, what's up?"

"Not here… " she murmured. "Let's just walk for a bit."

"Oh, sure," he kept following her through the trees.

Drama? What happened?

"Congrats on the win, by the way," she smiled. "And sorry about throwing up all over you."

"Eh, I'll live."

"At least you're actually getting along with your team members."

"You could say that…"

Where is she going with this?

"Which is kind of what I wanted to talk to you about."

"And, the other shoe drops. What's up?"

"Well," she bit her lip. "I don't know. I'm scared I'm going to word this wrong."

"Are you alright? Did something happen?"

"No, it's nothing like that… I just don't want to upset you."

"I won't-"

"You won't tell me you're upset, but you'll still be upset. I know you pretty well at this point. You tend to hide things."

"Fine," he conceded. "If I'm upset, I'll tell you."

Nope.

"Well, alright," she picked at the skin on her fingers. "It's just, nobody on that team knows you. So, maybe be careful with some of the things you say. And, how you act."

"You're gonna have to be a little more specific than that."

"Fine, um…"

"Just say it. Rip off the band-aid."

"You…" she took a shaky breath, "you have a tendency to hurt people sometimes. Even if you don't mean it. Please don't be upset."

Everyone here hates me. How could they not? Courtney definitely does, even if she pretends not to. I'm sure Zoey just pretends to be nice.

"Ouch," he tried to shake it off. "Well, what does that have to do with the Hero team?"

"Well," Gwen seemed relieved he wasn't too upset. "Just, look out. Um, I saw you talking to Zoey?"

"What, you think I'm trying to steal her away?"

"Of course not. But just… don't get caught up in it. You remember what happened with Courtney… Don't get in your own way. You know what this show does to people."

"Unfortunately."

"So, keep a low profile. It's just a suggestion, of course. I'm not trying to tell you what to do or anything."

"No, you're right," he put on a good face.

Maybe I should set myself on fire?

"And the same goes for you too, yeah? I don't want to see any Gwen and Scott drama, yeah?"

"Oh, it's not me you have to worry about. This morning, Courtney told me she thought he was cute."

"Shut up. No way," Duncan grinned.

"Yes way. I'm telling you, this Island does things to people's minds."

"Well, good for her."

"I guess so," Gwen wrinkled her nose.

Back at the Spa Hotel, the Heroes were celebrating another victory.

"Ah, another night in the Spa Hotel," Sam leaned back in his kitchen chair.

"I knew you could do it, Sam," Zoey beamed.

"Aw, thanks, Zoey," Sam smiled. "I couldn't have done it without you. You really helped me today," he gave her a look, holding eye contact for a moment.

"Oh, no problem…"

Sometimes, I think he likes me. Not to seem arrogant. It's harmless anyways, he's still with Dakota. But still, I do wonder.

"Sorry about your GameGuy, Sam," Sierra offered her condolences while typing on her phone. "I can't imagine what I would do without my cellphone!"

"Thanks, Sierra," Sam nodded. "I hope you never have to experience this pain."

"I know, I'd- damn it, this stupid thing is about to die… I'll go charge it," she got up from her seat and walked to the girl's bedroom to plug in her phone.

"Anyone know where Duncan is?" Cameron looked around as if he might physically manifest in the room.

"Still talking to Gwen, I think," Zoey answered.

"He did a good job today," Cameron decided. "Maybe he's a team player after all?"

"Who are we talking about?" Sierra walked back into the room without her phone.

"Duncan," Cameron informed her.

"Oh, yeah! He's super good at challenges when he wants to be."

"I'm just happy you guys were nice to him," Zoey smiled.

"I gotta say, Zoey, it's super admirable how nice you're being to him, all things considered," Sierra returned to her phone.

"What do you mean?"

"Well…" she paused. "Um, he's just a tricky guy sometimes. You know how it is."

"Well, after all, it's a team," Cameron conceded. "We all need to get along."

Mike still isn't saying anything… I have to talk to him.

"Hey, Mike," she smiled. "I'm going for a walk, want to come with? We haven't hung out in a while, just the two of us."

"Oh, sure," he agreed.

"Great!"

Maybe he'll tell me what's wrong.

He followed her out of the kitchen and through the front door, where they ran into Gwen and Duncan only a few feet away.

"Oh, hey guys!" Gwen waved. "Where ya going?"

"Just for a walk," Zoey smiled. "Hey, maybe we can all hang out at some point? Kind of like a double date-"

"We're not dating," Gwen cut her off immediately.

"What?"

"Never were. Remember? All fake."

"Oh, um, sorry," she smiled sheepishly. "I guess I forgot?"

I swear, nobody ever told me that…

"But we can still hang out," Gwen quickly reassured her.

Great, that'll be interesting.

"Oh, great!" Zoey beamed.

"Don't let us keep you," Gwen started to walk again. "Duncan's letting me shower in the Spa Hotel, since he's such a gentleman."

"Sorry, Gwen, who did you throw up on today?" Duncan left to catch up with her.

"Right, you really should do something about that," Gwen opened the front door. "It looks pretty gross."

"Oh, I'll do something alright…" They both disappeared into the Spa Hotel.

"They seem nice," Zoey noted as she started to walk again, Mike by her side.

"I suppose so."

"But anyways, there was something I wanted to talk to you about."

"Yeah?" His voice shook slightly.

Wait, I don't want to make him nervous…

"It's nothing major," she tried to reassure him. "It's just, you've been really quiet this season. Like, you've barely spoken at all, even to me. So I was just wondering if everything was alright?"

"Yup, all good."

He's obviously lying…

"Mike," she frowned. "You know you can tell me anything. Is it something with one of your alters?"

"Nope, they're all good too."

"Then what is it?" She pressed. "Did someone say something? Do something?"

When did all of this start? I guess…

"Is it Duncan?"

"No," he spoke quickly.

"It's him, isn't it? Did he do something?"

If he did, I swear…

"Fine, look, you have to swear you won't say anything…"

"Of course I won't."

"This sounds crazy, but… he just makes me nervous."

"What did he do?" Zoey was curious.

"Nothing in particular. I told you, it's crazy. But like you said, he has a reputation. And after last season with Scott…"

"I shouldn't have said that," Zoey admitted. "And I don't think Scott and him are anything alike. But thank you for telling me. You had me worried there!"

So, he's nervous someone will mess with him again… Well, I'm relieved it's nothing serious this time. I thought another contestant did something.

"And I'm sorry for being so distant," Mike apologized. "I'll make more of an effort to be friendly."

"You don't have to if you don't want-"

"No, you're right. I'm sure it's off putting," he smiled. "And like you said, we're on the same team."

"Oh, shoot! We're gonna miss elimination…"

"Wanna race back?"

"You always win," she pouted.

"I'll give you a ten second head start."

"Fine."

"Starting now."

"Wait! Ah, you always do this!" She started to run with her boyfriend close behind.

Over at the elimination ceremony, Chris began his spiel.

"Alright, welcome to tonight's elimination ceremony!" He noticed as Zoey and Mike arrived. "Ah, thank you for joining us."

"Sorry," Zoey apologized as she took a seat.

"As I was saying… Gwen! This is the first challenge where you haven't done anything terrible to Courtney!... Courtney?"

"Hmm?" Courtney hadn't been expecting to be addressed at all. "Oh. Um… Well, the day isn't over," she rolled her eyes.

"Also, I have a special announcement to make! After reviewing the footage, the Heroes did NOT win today's challenge!"

"What?"

"Huh?"

"How is that possible?"

A chorus of confusion came from the Hero side of the bleachers.

"Sam, please stand up and turn out your pockets!" Chris yelled.

Sam did as he was told and two large chunks of pancakes fell out of his pockets.

"Dude," Duncan shook his head.

At least have the common sense to take them out of your pockets…

"Aw, I'm sorry, guys," Sam sighed. "I just wanted to take some food with me in case I had to go back to Boney Island."

"Heroes, to the voting booth!" Chris declared.

Alright, let's see… I guess I'll vote for Sam, just because I can't deal with him anymore.

This sucks… But I'll vote for Sam. I feel so bad, but he did lose the challenge…

When the Heroes finished voting, Chris re-started his speech.

"Now, welcome to the real elimination ceremony! Heroes, the following campers are safe. Duncan, Cameron, Mike, and Zoey!"

I'm sure Cam voted for Sierra…

"And the next camper is safe… Sierra! Sam, you're out!"

"Bye, Sam!" Zoey waved as he left.

"Awe, bye guys!" He waved back before taking the flush of shame.

"Who will win the next competition? Find out here on Total… Drama… All-Stars! Ok, good work everyone, we're done for today."

"Shame what happened with Sam," Mike pondered.

"Yeah," Zoey stood up and began to walk towards the cabins. "Well, I guess now we have motivation to win next time."

It was a fairly quiet walk back to the cabins. Sierra led the pack, insisting she needed to use her phone.

"I haven't used it all day. Or, at least since I left it charging…I gotta update my blog!" She charged into the girl's cabin.

"Oh, right, she has that blog…" Duncan remembered from his last season. "God, that was annoying. Does she still update it all the time?"

"Yup," Cameron noted. "All the time."

Suddenly, there was a loud shriek from the cabins.

"Sierra?" Zoey ran towards the cabin, the rest of her teammates close behind. "Sierra!"

She found Sierra curled up on the floor.

"What's wrong?"

"It's… it's…" she held up her phone. The screen kept flashing on and off, and sparks flew out of it.

"Oh, jeez…" Zoey observed the situation.

"The same thing happened to Sam's GameGuy…" Cameron noted.

"So what, someone's targeting us?" Mike looked back and forth between Zoey and Cameron.

Of course…

"No, I know who did this," Sierra seethed and collected herself up off the floor.

"Wha- who?" Mike sounded terrified.

"You!" She pointed at Duncan. "I know it was you. Don't pretend otherwise," she sneered, looking completely livid.

"Me? You're crazy," he scoffed. "You guys also thought I broke Sam's GameGuy, and I didn't do that either!"

"No, this is personal. You've always hated my blog, both you and Courtney. You were probably the one who sent her after me to shut it down, yeah? Do you think I'm stupid? Well, I'm not."

What's going on? Where did this come from?

"Be very careful what you say next, Sierra," he growled, daring her to speak.

"Or what?" She sniffled. "Scared I'll share something you don't want me to? Nervous I'll tell-"

"Sierra!" He snapped. Zoey and Cameron both winced at the sound of him yelling. "We moved past this. It has nothing to do with you. You would only be hurting people- your own friends, might I add- if you posted any of that. Is that what you want?"

I don't know what to do… I have no idea what's happening.

"No," she sniffled.

"Duncan was with Gwen all day…" Mike spoke to no one in particular. "He couldn't have done it."

Holy shit…

"Mike's right," Zoey stared at the floor. "We both saw them."

"Look, Sierra, I can try to fix your phone," Cameron offered. "If you want. I can't guarantee it'll work, but I'll try."

"Oh, Cammy-bear! Thank you," she scooped him up into a hug.

"Uh, sure."

"Here you go," she gently handed him her phone.

"What was that?" Zoey whispered to Duncan once Sierra was adequately distracted.

"Nothing. Just old drama," he shrugged.

He's not gonna tell me. Why should he?

"Maybe you guys should go back to your cabin," Zoey suggested, "before she snaps again. I'm sure Cameron won't mind staying here for a while."

"Good idea," Duncan gave Sierra one more glance before opening the cabin door. "Good night, I guess."

"'Night, Zoey," Mike gave his girlfriend a hug.

"Good night," she smiled.

Mike followed Duncan out of the girl's cabin, across the small dirt road separating the two buildings, and into the guy's cabin.

Once they were both inside, Duncan shut the door, making absolutely certain that it was fully closed.

"So," he turned to his teammate. "It's been a while, hasn't it?"
