CHAPTER 28.

Kara narrated what she could hear to the younger girl, once again refusing to leave her side.

''Duke arrived?'' Helena opened a small smile.

''I heard his voice.''

''Does this version of him have powers too?''

''I don't know.'' Kara frowned. ''The fight has begun.''

''Any ninja coming our way?''

''No. The ones not fighting are spreading out, but none are coming this way." To try to lighten the tense atmosphere, Kara broke into a small smile. ''And if they come here, they will be frozen.''

Helena snorted, still visibly fighting the sedatives that were in the IV. ''Your powers still haven't returned, you would have frozen the door to make a barrier if they had come back.''

''Clark and Lois taught me hope. And I'm hopeful that my powers will have returned in time if that happens.''

''And my parents taught me to see reality Kara, there's no chance your powers will come back in time for you.''

Kara took a deep breath. This really saved the bats in many, many situations. But she still had hope.

For the sake of both of them, she needed to.

Helena continued to speak, no doubt not to sleep.

''And I can't help you if they invade without calling out to them more by the noise.''

''Even if you could get out of there, your wounds wouldn't let you fight.''

Helena grimaced and went back to looking at her notebook, trying to contact the cave or someone outside. Any hero. Even if it was the elastic man who answered her she would be happy.

Kara shook her head. Helena was a perfect blend of her parents and older brothers. Main characteristic of her always being stubbornness and persistence. Well, in the end, that's what saved them from ending up like the rest of their planet.

They ended up joining the other Robins in battle, blades, batarangs, staves and even ninjas were flung across the room. No wonder they heard a loud noise.

Duke's eyes widened as he approached and swallowed hard. Bruce never let him fight the League of Assassins. Something about not wanting Thalia to get her hands on another one of her Robins.

Judging by the visible nervousness in his new small group, he wasn't the only one. Duke didn't know B.J, really? Another with a questionable name? Okay, moving on, he didn't know B.J, so the boy's nervousness didn't affect him, but it was unnerving to see Dick Grayson hesitate and swallow hard before finally stepping in.

Fighting alongside so many with the same training helped him, as when he didn't watch his back, he had at least three doing it for him. And of course Duke returned the favor. His powers warned him about the sword before the ninja even turned towards them, so he pulled B.J to his side before they both performed a joint swipe to take the guy down.

Kaldur asked M'gann to meet Helena and Kara in the midst of battle. If there were as many invaders as it seemed, then it was best to evacuate the place.

In fact there were many more ninjas coming in and spreading out, judging by the brain waves she could make out. They needed to get out of there.

Meg's appearance in the infirmary startled both girls, but they relaxed as soon as they saw it was M'gann. Canary warned them about her and J'onn being Martians in the league and team, but to confirm, Kara asked.

''You're...''

''M'gann.'' The Martian smiled. ''It's nice to meet you, but we need to get you out of here.''

''We can not.''

''Of course they can, we just leave...''

''No! If I leave, the infirmary's alarm will start ringing, this will draw the ninjas towards us.''

''Hello M'gann. That could warn the league!''

''... did you hear what she said?'' Kara looked at the Martian with a strange face.

''I'll warn the robins that the alarms will go off, it will stop them from coming here, and as for the ninjas I fly fast, I can get us out of here before they arrive! The bioship could be the rendezvous point, as we really need to get out of here.'' Her eyes started to glow and she turned her head in a specific direction. ''Warned, come on, as soon as we get out of the cave we'll contact the league, who will likely be coming here for the infirmary alert, but we need to do this fast.'' She walked over to the youngest and started pulling out the wires.

''That's if we don't get attacked on the way.'' Kara muttered.

''My ship can become intangible, it doesn't show up on radar, they won't know where we're going.''

Alarms began to ring as M'gann scooped the youngest into his arms and Kara clung to her back. ''Hold on tight!'' With that they flew at full speed to the hangar.

Dick tripped over his foot as he felt a tingle running through his entire body, it was only years of training that kept him from falling. "No..." He muttered. ''Not now.''

This caught the attention of the ninja he was fighting, but he was knocked down by a sword and in the next second Rochelle was in front of the boy, fighting another ninja.

Damian appeared beside her and steadied him on his feet. ''Gray... Nightwing is glowing.''

''Get him out of here!'' Tim yelled.

Kaldur uses his swords to take down a ninja before looking at Dick. ''You know the meeting point, we'll meet there. Go, all of you!''

''And leave you here alone? I don't think so.'' Steph grunted as she launched one unconscious ninja at another, knocking him down.

''Trust me, I have a plan.''

"Half go, half stay, the ones left stay behind Aqualad, I think I know what the plan is." B.J exclaimed. If he's right, then Kaldur and Garth aren't as different as he thought.

Dick forced himself to walk, Damian and Duke helped him, the glow increased. Rochelle and Carrie followed closely behind, the group leaving the room as the other five Robins regrouped behind Kaldur. Out of 28 ninjas, there were only seven who stood up after being knocked down.

Kaldur took a small capsule from his pocket and popped it, releasing the water inside. With his powers, he increased the volume of the liquid and made a wave that took the remaining ninjas to another corridor. It took about three times to really ward off the ninjas. It wouldn't keep them away forever, but it would buy them time to run to the ship.

It was in the second hallway that Dick yelled, causing the two alternate robins to release him. This time was different from the previous ones, it was as if something was conflicting with the teleportation, something was different.

The pain passed seconds later and he stopped glowing, Rochelle put her hand on his shoulder. A new glow appearing a meter away from the group of five.

There wasn't exactly one word to describe the group after the new boy arrived. Surprise was the closest actually.

The boy had the same report as Tim, but what drew attention was the fact that he was identical to Damian and had a lot of resemblance to B.J, but with light skin and black hair. Another biological child?

''What...'' He leans against the wall, catching his breath, apparently the transfer hurt him too. He looked at the group, specifically at Dick, who was leaning against Damian.

''Dick?'' he whispered, his brow furrowing.

Dick was about to respond when he realized the newcomer's attention had shifted to something behind him and with a technique and precision he'd only seen in one person, the boy took down the ninja at the end of the hall with two batarangs at pressure points.

Now, none of them have demonstrated that kind of precision, adding to the strong resemblance...

Please, they were detectives after all.

''Bruce?'' Dick asks dumbfounded.

The boy's attention returns to the group. ''What is happening.''

It was an order, not a question. It couldn't be, but it was.

It was Bruce.

''We'll answer all your questions as soon as we're in a safe place, we need to get out of here.'' Duke interrupted looking down the hall the ninjas came from. Duke and the others still haven't figured out who this new kid was.

Bruce nodded and the group rushed to the hangar, Dick in the lead.

He later assured himself. He later finds out why Bruce was dressed as Robin.
