A/N- Enjoy!
Chapter Nine
The sun was peeking through the trees on Boney Island, where Duncan was still laying in the sand. He was in a state of half-consciousness the entire night, not awake but not quite falling asleep.
Alright, I know what to do. Nothing. Don't get involved. This will implode on itself, and if I involve myself, I'll end up shouldering some of the blame. I've done nothing wrong.
In the distance, he could see Chef approaching on his boat.
Just act totally normal. Which is no problem. I always act normal. So I'll be fine. I'm barely involved at all.
In the Spa Hotel, Zoey was laying in bed and staring up at the ceiling.
So much for a good night's sleep…Why is Mike so upset at me? What should I do?.
Of course, Sierra was also awake. She tapped incessantly at her phone.
I wish whoever broke that thing did a better job. I can't take this anymore.
"Alright, campers!" Chris announced from outside. "Meet me outside for your next challenge!"
No way… I'm so tired.
Zoey rolled out of bed, rubbing her eyes in an attempt to wake up. When she stumbled in the kitchen, Mike was already there.
He looks terrible…Does nobody on this team sleep anymore?
"Woah, did you sleep?" He said the moment he saw her.
"I could say the same thing for you."
"Ah. Yeah. Kind of a rough night, I guess."
Last night… was so weird. I don't know if it's worth bringing up again, though. I'd hate to start a problem.
"Hmm," she hummed, grabbing a carton of eggs from the fridge. "Want any?"
"Oh, sure."
Cameron strolled into the kitchen, looking perfectly well-rested.
How?
"Good morning!" He beamed. "Oh, Zoey, you're making eggs? Thanks!"
"Oh, um, sure Cam." She took a few more eggs from the carton.
"Hi everyone!" Sierra walked in as well. She looked tired, but not more so than usual. "Oh, Zoey! Thanks for breakfast!"
"No problem," Zoey gritted her teeth.
"And, um, about last night…" Mike spoke nervously.
"Yes?" Zoey looked at him.
Maybe he's apologizing?
"Let's just forget about it, yeah? Move past it?"
"Oh. Yes, of course. Good idea. It was silly anyways."
"Exactly," he grinned. "Glad you agree."
This is a good thing. He wants to move past it. Yes. That's good. Pretend it didn't happen. Good.
Back on Boney Island, Duncan stepped onto the boat driven by Chef, determined to have a new outlook.
Just sit back and watch the trainwreck. What do they say? The best revenge is a life well lived. Well, this is my revenge.
"Alright, kid, we're off," Chef announced. "Next challenge starts soon."
"Oh, joy."
On the island, the Hero team trailed out of the Spa Hotel to meet up with Chris, who was standing on the dock off the beach with a megaphone.
"Come on! Let's get moving!"
"We're here," Zoey said weakly. The Villains were already there by the time the Heroes arrived.
"Jeez," Chris winced. "You all look terrible. How come nobody slept last night?"
"What?" Cameron tilted his head. "I slept great!"
"Well, anyways," Chris continued. "Today, we'll be taking a little excursion!"
"Oh God," Gwen crossed her arms. "To where?"
"Today's challenge will be taking place in the Fun Zone!"
Nobody looked pleased.
"Seriously? You're not excited to visit the Fun Zone?" Chris frowned. "Well, I can understand the hesitation. Since we're leaving the island, you won't have a chance to look for the McLean Brand Immunity Idol. Which, by the way, is still up for grabs and hidden somewhere on this island! Anyways, Chef should be arriving with Duncan shortly, and you'll all be travelling to the Fun Zone with him! Ah, look, here they are now!"
Chef's boat was fast approaching in the distance.
"Sorry, where is the Fun Zone?" Zoey asked.
"I can't spoil the surprise!" Chris smiled.
Chef pulled the boat up to the dock.
"Alright, get on!"
"I already know this is going to be terrible," Heather declared as she led the campers towards the boat.
"Duncan!" Gwen yelled out to him. "You survived!"
"Barely," he smiled as she stepped onto the boat and stood next to him.
"Really? Was it that bad?"
"Nah. I just hung out on the beach."
Zoey watched this exchange intently.
Gwen acts like they're friends… So why'd she say all that stuff to me yesterday? A lapse of judgement? I caught her at a bad moment?
"Zoey, you good?" Duncan caught sight of her.
She looks like shit. I hope it wasn't anything I said. No, I mostly held it in last night.
"Ah, I just didn't sleep very well."
Maybe I should tell him what happened. But Gwen's right there, and she told me not to… I'll wait until we're alone.
Mike looks like shit too. Obviously, something happened. I'll get it out of her.
"Alright, we're leaving!" Chef announced. "Nobody fall off the boat! I'm not jumping in to rescue you."
"Isn't it weird that Chris didn't come to the Fun Zone with us?" Scott asked.
"That's Chris for you," Courtney sighed. "He would never ride with the peasantry."
"Hey, why are we moving towards Boney Island?" Cameron pointed in the distance.
"Oh, Godamnit!" Heather shrieked.
"As some of you may have suspected, the Fun Zone is on Boney Island!" Chris announced from somewhere.
"Are you kidding, Chris?" Gwen looked up and saw him riding in a helicopter overhead.
"Yup! Have fun, guys!"
The helicopter sped onwards towards Boney Island.
"Oh! That reminds me," Zoey reached into her pocket and pulled out two pieces of plain toast. "This is how you like it, right?" She offered the food to Duncan.
No way. She remembered! Aw, now I feel bad for all that stuff I thought.
"Yeah, thanks Zoey," he smiled and took the toast.
"Of course!"
Now, can I eat food that was in her pocket? Probably not. But it's the thought that counts.
He shoved the bread in his own pocket, figuring he'd dispose of it later.
Weird how nobody else brought me food… I wouldn't have eaten it, but when it was Sierra and Sam, everyone brought them stuff. Interesting.
"Alright, we're here," Chef announced in a gruff voice. "Get off."
"Thanks, Chef!" Duncan smiled. "We had a great time!"
"Kid, I will sink this boat."
"Sorry!" Duncan leapt off the boat and onto the solid ground.
Chris was standing on the beach, waiting for the campers to reach him.
"You know what? I know what the challenge is," Duncan whispered to Zoey.
"What? Really?"
"Yup. He's gonna hunt us for sport."
"Don't even joke," she shook her head. "You'd be screwed."
"Ouch," he smiled. "You're a tough critic."
That was mean of me. God, I need to sleep.
"Sorry-"
"This is inspiration for me to start lifting," he cut her off before she could apologize.
I can't listen to another apology.
"What?"
"You know, so I could fight him off. Actually, I don't have time to work out in the next two minutes. If we're being hunted for sport, I think I would try to wait it out."
"And let Chris eat me first?"
"Woah, he's eating us? That totally changes the situation. Pretty depraved."
"I don't know," Zoey blushed. "I thought this was your hypothetical."
"In that scenario, I would make myself as unappetizing as possible. What repels cannibals?"
Am I really playing along with this?
"You could play dead? I think they would like fresh meat, I would imagine?"
"Zoey, I love the enthusiasm. We'll continue this discussion," he noticed that Chris was about to start talking.
"Alright, campers! As you can see, today's challenge is taking place in the Fun Zone! Which happens to be on Boney Island. Complete coincidence! Please follow me this way," he turned to walk through the woods.
"Duncan, did you see anything last night that could help us with the challenge?" Cameron asked.
"Nah, I just stayed on the beach. I wasn't looking to run into any radioactive creatures in the woods."
"You didn't do any exploring?" Mike asked.
Keep it together.
"Nope!" Duncan smiled. "Sorry, Mike. Maybe next time, you can volunteer to spend the night here. You know, so you can explore."
Before Mike could respond to that, Chris led the teams through a large pair of gates.
"Listen us, campers! Contained within these gates is the Fun Zone! Now, here's your challenge. Each team has one basket. You need to fill it with as many eggs as possible. Any animal works, it just needs to be found within the Fun Zone! You will have one hour to complete this task. Sounds good?"
"Wait," Heather started. "What does-"
"Good! And keep in mind, you may run into some… radioactive creatures, hehehe. Alright, your time starts… now!" Chris walked back through the gates, which slammed shut behind him.
"Alright, team!" Zoey immediately gathered the Heroes. "How should we do this?"
"I think we should all split up," Cameron explained. "We'll cover more ground that way."
"What!" Sierra panicked. "Cammy-bear, I can't let you wander around all alone when there's radioactive monsters out there!"
"Sierra, we have to win the challenge," Cameron explained. "Please?"
"Fine," she groaned. "But if anything happens to you, I'll be really upset!"
"I'll be fine," he reassured her.
"We don't have a lot of time," Zoey mused, "so let's get going."
"Hang on," Duncan cut in. "Aren't we gonna do a chant?"
"We've never done a chant," Mike rolled his eyes.
"We should do one. For team spirit."
"Alright," Zoey smiled. "What should it be? Heroes on three? Ooh, how about Hamsters on three?"
"I like it," Duncan approved.
"Alright, Hamsters on three," Mike looked eager to get this over with.
"When I was a kid, I had two hamsters," Sierra started talking out of nowhere. "On my eighth birthday, I went to check on them, and they had eaten each other's faces off. There was blood everywhere, and their eyeballs were strewn about the cage."
"Oh my God, that's horrible," Zoey looked deeply unsettled.
"Jesus, this team blows," Duncan sighed. "Chant's cancelled."
"One, two, three, Hamsters!" Cameron cheered.
"Cameron," Zoey sighed. "We're not doing the chant."
"Oh. Sorry."
"Let's just split up?" Zoey offered. "Ah, wait. Somebody should stay behind and watch the basket. Duncan, do you want to do it? You should probably rest from last night."
"Ah, sure. I'll wait to put my egg hunting skills to good use," he walked back towards the basket.
"Alright, I'll see you guys!" Zoey bid the team farewell as they all broke off in separate directions.
"Ah, Duncan," a voice spoke from nearby.
Shit. Of course.
Duncan turned to see Alejandro guarding the Villains basket.
"What is it, Alejandro?" Duncan didn't look at him.
"Oh, why so cold?" Alejandro balanced himself on his hands. "Aren't you happy to see me?"
"Hardly."
"Well, that's a shame. You know I'm always happy to talk with you, Duncan."
"How are the legs?"
"Hmm," Alejandro kicked his legs in the air. "I feel they are getting stronger. Perhaps soon I'll be able to walk on them."
"Thank God," Duncan rolled his eyes.
"You seem troubled," Alejandro pondered. "More irritated than usual. Has something happened?"
"Can we just focus on guarding the baskets?"
"But there's nothing in them," Alejandro smiled. "Surely, we have time to talk. But apparently, you're in the mood to stay quiet. What a shame."
"Yup. Really shameful."
"Well then, I'll do the talking. Humor me, Duncan. Do you like love stories?"
Oh God, where is he going with this?
"Not particularly."
"Everybody loves a good love story. Do you know why?"
"I don't think I want to."
"Nonsense. Nobody can resist the allure of a love story. Somebody putting their heart on the line, the hope, the rejection- the brutality of it all!"
"Does this have a point?" Duncan asked.
"Hmm, how impatient. You know, Duncan, I think you underestimate me."
"Now, that's something I'd never do."
"No matter. You know I like to do my research, yes? There's a lot you can find out by observing your surroundings. For example, I can tell that something is troubling the Heroic Hamsters. Well, a few of them, anyways."
Oh God, please stop talking…
"I think we can handle it, Alejandro."
"Oh? So there is something going on? How fascinating. Well, I'm not surprised. When you consider the circumstances, something was bound to happen."
"...The circumstances?" Duncan couldn't help himself.
Shit, don't give him more ammunition!
"Ah, yes!" Alejandro beamed. "Well, it's a complex situation, after all. Tell me, how is Mike handling it?"
No way. No fucking way. How could he possibly know? How did he figure it out? He's good, but he's not that good!
"How would I know?" Duncan shrugged.
"Hey, Duncan!" Mike jogged through the trees clutching several eggs. "I've got a few. Why don't we switch off?"
"Ah, Mike! We were just talking about you. Weren't we, Duncan?"
Fuck.
"Nope," Duncan inisted. "I don't think so."
For his part, Mike looked terrified.
"Hmm… How interesting. Well, Mike, I'm sure we have a lot to discuss. You look like you're about to collapse, by the way. Really not helping your case. Duncan," Alejandro noticed he was still standing there. "Don't you have some eggs to find?"
"Ignore Alejandro," Duncan instructed Mike. "He's always got something to say. Good luck." He took the opportunity to disappear into the woods.
Ok, Alejandro didn't actually say anything specific. He tends to do that a lot- he'll say something vague and look for a reaction, then build off whatever you give him. He's such a snake… But he's so goddamn good-looking. It's so unfair. Either way, Mike doesn't do well in those types of situations. He better keep it together, for his own sake.
Duncan walked deeper into the forest, looking for any eggs that might be scattered nearby.
Now, what am I even looking for?
Somewhere else in the forest, Zoey picked through a pile of leaves in search of eggs. When she bent down to inspect a suspicious looking dent in the ground, she collided with a tree branch, causing several eggs to fall from the sky.
"Oh, nice!" She smiled.
It was a good idea to split up for this challenge. We could all use a break from each other.
"'Scuse me," Courtney walked by.
Hmm, this could be my opportunity to figure out if he's mad at me…
"Courtney!" Zoey beamed. "How are you?"
"Um, good?" She looked confused.
"Ah, that's great!"
"Yep. So, I'm gonna go look for eggs-"
"Maybe I could go with you?" Zoey asked.
Dumb. Why would I go with her? We're on opposite teams!
"Go with me?" Courtney echoed. "Why would we do that?"
"Um, I don't know."
"Is everything alright?"
"Yes. Maybe. Um, alright, there was actually something I wanted to ask you about?"
"Yeah?"
"Well, it has to do with Duncan-"
"Of course it does," Courtney sighed. "What is it? What did he do?"
"Ah, he didn't do anything."
"Then what?"
"I was just wondering, um, actually, it doesn't matter. I don't want to cause any friction."
"Is he causing problems?"
If I say yes, maybe she'll tell me more...This is so bad, but I really wanna know.
"He was just upset yesterday, and I don't know what to do… I was wondering if you could help me?"
"Fine. After the challenge, wait for me. When the cameras aren't rolling."
"Thank you," Zoey smiled. "I really appreciate it."
Sorry, Duncan.
"Now, focus on the challenge. I gotta go," Courtney walked off.
"Sure," Zoey said weakly as she clutched the eggs she found.
Right, I have a challenge to do.
She walked back through the trees in the direction of the Heroes' basket. When she arrived, she found Alejandro guarding his team's basket, which already had a few eggs. Meanwhile, Mike looked like a wreck.
Oh great, now what?
"Hi, Zoey!" Alejandro grinned. "Oh no, did you sleep last night?"
"Hi, Alejandro," Zoey ignored his comment and placed the eggs in the basket.
"Mike and I were just having a very interesting conversation-"
"Great. I'm going now," she knew better than to engage.
"Um, switch with me?" Mike pleaded. He really did look terrible.
I can't say no.
"Oh. Sure."
"Thanks," Mike smiled.
"So, Zoey," Alejandro started talking the moment Mike walked away. "How is your team doing? Have you made any friends? Enemies? Perhaps something else altogether?"
Mike, you better find some goddamn eggs.
Somewhere else in the forest, Duncan was attempting to climb a tree.
I know there's a nest of eggs up there…
Unfortunately, he wasn't having much success.
Great, this is all gonna be on camera. Gross.
He stuck his foot in a small hole in the trunk of the tree and hoisted himself up, gripping the branches for support. When he found the nest, he saw that it was accompanied by a large bluebird.
"Oh, uh, hey," Duncan stared at the animal. "Mind if I take these?"
It just stared at him.
"So, that's a yes?"
Once he placed his hands near the eggs, the bluebird started shrieking.
"Jesus, fine, calm down. I won't touch them. Bitch."
Resigned, Duncan climbed back down and onto the forest floor.
Well, that was a waste of time… I guess I should keep searching? I wonder how Mike's holding up with Alejandro. Hehe.
Duncan picked a random direction and started to walk. By this point, he had no idea where he was, and the lack of sleep was starting to rear its head.
Zoey looked like shit this morning… Maybe they got into a fight?
"You!" A nearby voice hissed.
Duncan spun around to see Mike marching towards him.
Alright, play it cool. You're cool.
"Hey."
Great. That's a great opener.
"What did you say?" Mike was frantic.
"Hmm? What do you mean?" Duncan tilted his head.
"To Alejandro!" He gestured wildly. "What did you tell him?"
"Tell him about what?"
This idiot. The cameras are rolling. He's gonna screw himself over.
"You know what."
"I have no idea. Don't we have a challenge to do right now? Let's focus on that instead."
Mike narrowed his eyes.
"This isn't over."
Oh, he's pissed now.
"Uh, sure, man. Whatever you say," Duncan shrugged, completely nonchalant.
The more I act like I'm weirded out, the more upset he gets. It's great.
Back at the gates, Zoey was having a miserable time guarding the eggs.
"So," Alejandro smiled. "How is Mike doing?"
"God, when is someone else replacing you?" Zoey sighed.
I hate to be mean, but it's Alejandro. That doesn't count.
"How am I supposed to pick up eggs without my hands? Seems difficult, yes? And how strange, you didn't answer my question. Any particular reason for that?"
"Nope. I just don't want to talk to you."
"Hmm. I thought you were supposed to be the nice one? Guess I was wrong."
No. He's guilting you. Stop it-
"It's going fine," she heard herself saying.
Damnit.
"Ah? Fine? I see. Well, I hope you guys work it out."
"Work what out?"
Stop! You're saying what he wants to hear!
"Oh! I shouldn't say. I wouldn't want to make anything worse."
"Tell me."
"Hmm, maybe later. I'm just saying, it looks like you all need a good night's sleep. Hopefully, you'll win tonight! Then you can sleep in the Spa Hotel."
Alejandro could see Scott approaching in the distance.
"Yo, Alejandro! I'll switch with you?"
"Oh! Excuse me!" Alejandro smiled at Zoey. "It appears I'll be leaving now. Please, tell Duncan I say hi. I do worry about him, you know. Especially now. We'll talk later, yes?"
"No."
"Perfect, I eagerly await our conversation. Bye now!"
Zoey watched as Alejandro hand-walked away from their conversation.
What was he saying about Duncan? Well, I'm sure it's just Alejandro trying to get into my head. I can't listen to anything he says. I watched World Tour- he'll say anything to get a rise out of someone.
"Hey, Zoey," Scott kicked at the ground.
Great, now this.
"Hey, Scott."
"D'ya wanna sit here and just… not talk?"
"Perfect."
"Alright."
Back in the woods, Duncan had managed to find a few more eggs, but he had no idea where he was. He let Mike storm off in a rage, so he was totally alone.
Damnit. Where am I? How does this keep happening?
"Hey, Duncan?"
He spun around to find Heather standing there.
"Oh. Hey."
"Listen. I need you to know that I have never and will never need your help with anything. Ever. There is truly nothing you can offer me."
"I see. So, what do you need?"
Heather frowned at him.
"I don't need anything. I was just wondering if you could confirm something for me. Yeah?"
"Fine."
"Is it true? About Alejandro?"
"Hmm. You'll have to be a bit more specific."
"God, you're dense," she sighed. "Mike told me that Alejandro is planning on getting everyone to vote me off tonight. Normally, I would never believe it, but he's supposed to be a nice guy. So, is it true?"
Interesting. I don't think it's true, right? But why would Mike lie? Unless, he's trying to pit Heather and Alejandro against each other. He would do that. And she would never suspect a thing, since he acts so nice, despite being a total jackass- alright, calm down.
"Yup, it's true," Duncan confirmed.
"I see," Heather tried not to look hurt. "Well, thanks."
"No problem."
Awe, it's kind of sad. They do go well together...
"Oh, hi guys!" Sierra called out from the trees. "Look what I found!"
She was carrying a small, squirming rodent.
"Ew…" Heather scrunched her face. "I'm not doing this. Duncan, you can deal with her," she turned to walk away.
"Duncan!" Sierra beamed. "Welcome our newest member of the team. Cody Junior!" She held up the creature in delight. It had no hair and looked like it wanted to bite her.
Oh, gross.
"Um, why don't I drop off some eggs?" Duncan offered, trying to leave.
"Perfect! I'll come with you."
"Ah, great, Sierra."
Keep that thing away from me.
Back at the baskets, Zoey was waiting for someone to rescue her.
I can't handle the silence. It's too awkward. Oh, why do I have to be the one standing here?
Thankfully, Duncan and Sierra broke through the trees and started to walk towards her.
"Looks like you're free to go," Scott noted.
"Hey, Zoey!" Sierra yelled. "Look, it's Cody Junior!"
"I...um, that's great, Sierra," Zoey tried not to show her disgust with the rat-like creature.
She's not bringing that thing into the bedroom.
"Isn't it great?" Duncan smiled and placed a few eggs in the basket. "Now Cody is always here in spirit."
"Oh! I can guard the basket?" Sierra offered. "That way, I can bond with Cody Junior."
"Sure!" Zoey smiled. "Go ahead."
"Yay! C'mon Cody Junior, let's guard the eggs," Sierra swapped places with Zoey.
"Shall we go exploring?" Duncan offered.
I'm not getting lost again. And, well, she is nice to talk to.
"Please," she smiled.
Great, at least I can search with someone I like hanging out with. And he seems to be doing better than earlier.
The two of them walked back through the trees. Once they were out of sight, Zoey started to speak.
"What was that thing?"
"I really hope Cody doesn't watch this season," Duncan shook his head.
"You know, I think he would be insulted. Like, she sees him as a rodent."
"Ah, very analytical. I didn't even think of it like that. But hey, maybe she'll put away that picture of Cody?"
"I hope so," Zoey shuddered.
"Aw, c'mon. Who wouldn't want to wake up to a picture of Cody every morning? Those soulful blue eyes? Irresistible."
"How about I steal the photo and give it to you? Then you can wake up to that."
"Actually, on second thought, I'll pass. They're not that soulful."
"Is that Courtney and Gwen?" Zoey looked through the trees at two partially obscured shapes.
"Yep. Hey guys!" Duncan called out. Both girls turned to look at him.
"Duncan!" Gwen answered. "You're not gonna believe this bullshit."
"That's what I love to hear," Duncan walked closer, Zoey in tow. "What's going on?"
"Apparently, Alejandro is planning to vote Courtney off tonight," Gwen explained.
Wait, what?
"He's such an ass," Courtney crossed her arms.
"No way," Zoey widened her eyes, as if the thought of someone voting for someone else shocked her. "How'd you find out?"
"Mike overheard him talking to Scott," Gwen answered. "Back when they were guarding the eggs."
"He did look nervous when I went over there," Zoey pondered. "Like he was in a rush to get out of there. Maybe he wanted to warn you guys?"
I have to give credit where credit is due… that's a great play. Now, Heather, Gwen, and Courtney will all vote for Alejandro, and Mike makes himself out to look like the good guy. As long as they don't realize it's a lie, then Mike basically sends Alejandro home. But that begs the question: Why does he want him gone so badly?
"Thank God he warned us," Courtney nodded. "I'm sure we can get Heather to vote for him. Maybe Scott, too."
"Heather is always willing to vote for Alejandro," Gwen agreed.
So that's why Mike looked so nervous. He wanted to make sure Courtney didn't get voted off. Of course. He always wants the best for others. I guess we're lucky that he overheard Alejandro's plans.
"Campers!" Chris announced over the loudspeaker. "You have five minutes left! The Villains are ahead by two eggs!"
"Oh, shit!" Gwen realized. "Ok, um, bye guys!" She ran off with Courtney.
"Damn," Duncan turned to Zoey. "Let's get moving?"
"Yup," she started to frantically look for eggs. "Let's split up."
"Agreed. See you when we win?"
"You're awfully confident."
"Are you complaining?"
"Nope. Maybe a little confused, since you only found three eggs."
"Ouch. Well, good luck to both of us."
See? She can be snarky. And she didn't even apologize this time. Thank God, that was getting annoying.
Duncan walked a little further and started searching for eggs. Not too hard, though.
I don't care THAT much. But it would be nice to win, just to see how Mike's plan unfolds.
For her part, Zoey was scrambling for real.
C'mon, there has to be another egg around here…
"Zoey!" Mike yelled from a few yards away. "Help me with this!"
She ran over to her boyfriend to see him standing with a large nest of eggs.
"Wow, when'd you find this?"
"Just now, let's go!"
Zoey helped him lift the nest as they ran towards the baskets.
"We're not gonna make it on time," he realized. "We have to throw them."
"Are you sure?"
"Run ahead of me, I'll toss them over to you."
Guess it's not the time to ask questions.
"And, ten, nine," Chris started counting down. Zoey ran towards the basket.
"Go!" She yelled to Mike.
"Hmm?" Sierra had no idea what was going on. At some point, Cameron had made his way over, so he was standing next to Sierra.
Mike tossed an egg towards Zoey. She put it in the basket. He tossed another.
"5, 4, 3," Chris continued.
"One more!" Zoey yelled. Mike grabbed an egg and chucked it towards her. Zoey snatched it from the air and put it in the basket.
"2, 1! And, the Heroes win!" Chris announced.
"Yes!" Zoey shrieked. "Great job, guys!" She pulled Cameron, Sierra, and unfortunately, Cody Junior, into a hug.
"Villains!" Chris yelled. "I'll see you at elimination!"
Zoey ran towards her boyfriend and wrapped him in a hug.
"Great catch, Zoey," he grinned from ear to ear.
"Great job today," she smiled, resting her head on his shoulder, her concerns from the morning completely forgotten
Duncan watched this scene unfold from the cover of the trees.
Mike, what are you planning?
