Weighted down by humidity, the twins' swimming pool was currently occupied, the twins were busy splashing about with Tenpei, Bob, Patty and Ryu. Meanwhile most of the the teens, were, while not splashing, also enjoying the cool water as they floated about. While the duel spirits were floating all over the place, Swee was floating among them, lifting the water out of the pool twisting it into shapes, carrying the kids for brief slides. While En was near flattened by the humidity thus staying close to the food. All the while the spectrum of other fairies in between the pair danced about in the air enjoying the clear sky above.

Duel Spirit Plants proved rather confused by the type of water used in the pool, so they manifested around the pool instead. Giving the inner edge of the condo a black garden ascetic, yet for all the black of vine and leaf, the blooms were a rainbow of colors. All about the humans various spirits from all their decks were out and about. Robots and warriors, bird men and electronics, to the soft and airy spirits of childrens' delight.

As well as the dragons.

Not that it was easy, they were so used to manifesting in their full sized glory that the fact that they couldn't do that 'and' attend had finally been overcome.

By miniaturizing themselves.

Still longer than the average human, they were small enough to curl up and watch without drowning out the other spirits. Archfiend was the smallest curled up under the snack table, staring distrustfully at that water being splashed about the pool. Stardust was casually indifferent to the pool or the fairies, his eyes closed and possibly straight up sleeping by now. Curled up close to the will-they-just-DATE-ALREADY love birds.

Black Rose Dragon was nearby, her vines wrapped around Stardust. Maybe Stardust had been choked to death 'by' Black Rose hence his sleeping appearance. It would be something Black Rose might be willing to do. While Archfiend detested water due to his fire dragon nature, Black Rose had taken one sniff of the pool water and had backed up. Any plant like interest in the pool was erased in an instant. Which did nothing to encourage Archfiend into coming out from under the safety of the table.

While Ancient Fairy was visiting in short bursts due to her duties, Power Tool was clinging to the side of the building. Peering cautiously over the edge while its clamp like hand held it up. And no one was going to discuss exactly why Archfiends' attempt at mocking Power Tool resulted in just why he was under the table.

It wasn't just the amount of water being tossed about by the children either.

Not to say there 'weren't' machine themed spirits roaming around, just that Power Tool was the largest.

Currently Power Tool was staring out into the distance, the eyes flashing subtle lights that Archfiend could only figure was blinking.

"I don't want to go back to school," Patty confessed as she watched Hanawata float overhead while she floated in a pool tube. Her hair had been scrunched up under a black swim cap and her bright, sunny yellow bathing suit contrasted beautifully with her skin.

"Yeah it feels like just last week that we were let out for vacation," Bob agreed with a disheartened sigh.

"Aki?" Yusei peered over the Japanese language guide he had been studying to turn and look at the Rose Duelist. He wasn't dressed much different than normal, save that he took off his jacket and gloves. Leaving his Mark exposed for everyone to see, when he wasn't nose deep in the book.

"Yes, we 'were' let out last week," Aki answered without even needing to glance over at him as she shook her head. Otherwise known as the 'two piece distraction'. It wasn't a particularly scandalous two piece, she had purchased two bikini's and just swapped out the tops and bottoms so she had a nice red/black combo.

Too nice, because every time Yusei stopped looking at the workbook, it took 'reminding' for him to go 'back' to the workbook. Though realistically she wasn't the only woman stealing eyes, Carly was helping out. Only unlike Aki, Carly often couldn't 'see' Jack staring at her hungrily when the kids weren't able to see him. Her glasses were only on at that moment as she was helping Aki with getting her drivers license.

She was wrapped in a faded yellow robe, as she looked over Aki's work. Drying in the August sun she hummed and hawed her way through the booklet. She was actually in a two piece bathing suit of soft shades of blue. Carly's, however; was far more modest than Akis', enough material that it could have been understandably mistaken for a tank top and boy shorts.

It was also more skin that Carly would normally show in public and was driving Jack to a distraction.

Several of the Duel Spirits had decided, independently, to keep a close eye on him and were jabbing at him whenever the kids started to turn in his direction. But amazingly enough Carly never saw 'any' of this, because she was either flat on her chair sunbathing with her glasses off, or looking over that workbook.

"Yes, you're doing better this go around," Carly beamed as she nodded smartly at the workbook.

"Thank you for helping me with this Carly. I've been chauffeured around so much I mean, it look so 'easy' to drive..." Aki confessed as she sat accepting the offered workbook back. "There's so much to driving..."

"Not just driving, but you're trying to learn how to Turbo Duel, that's a whole new set of difficulties," Carly noted smartly. She pushed her glasses further up her face, the sun glinting off them and hiding her almost school teacher gaze. "There's more than just rules of the road, there's also learning how to run the system. I mean you know the guys, you've seen them duel so you know what to expect."

"But its a whole different thing when you have to do it yourself," Aki agreed.

"Not just system dueling either, you need to learn about how to handle self care in case of wipes, if the system shuts down. After all, Turbo Dueling can get you challenged on the road and not necessarily where the dueling systems are set up to take over for you. The challenge program can be run anywhere, in or out of the city, and you're a Signer, who knows when someone might get an idea."

Carly spoke with such nuanced experienced that Aki found herself a bit intimidated by it all. After all it 'was' Carly helping her with the book work, and Aki had not originally believed that Carly knew anything about Turbo Dueling. But she had a license, and her workbooks were filled with an astounding amount of information and compliments from her teachers.

"But if you can Turbo Duel why don't you?" Aki asked as she stared at the license in her hand before looking up at the reporter. The pair were sitting in at a small table at Cafe la Green, next to the large window that showed the world outside. At their feet was a few bags from their shopping trip, on the table was cups of tea and delicious snacks and small sandwiches.

Across from Aki was Carly, who was smiling in this apologetic, almost ashamed manner before she tapped the license. "This means I have a visual disability," Carly reached up and nudged her glasses as to enforce the point. "I can't duel in rain or at night outside of established roads. With my disability I'm required to ride a particular model of D-Wheel, one that can 'not' be challenged unless a preset number of conditions are met. But custom rides like that are costly and welp... here I am!" She twisted her lips into a half hearted smile while Aki looked down at the license and flipped it over.

Where the letter that Carly had pointed out was listed with its requirements. Could not drive in rain, or in any condition that could obscure her sight or at night. Could not duel in any area without a sanctioned dueling system to maintain the D-Wheel, any attempt at an override would cause her ride to shut down.

"How bad is your vision..." Aki asked unaware that anyone could have vision seemingly 'this' bad, before shaking her head. "What about the fairies? Can they compensate for you?"

Carly started chuckling at the question, before giving a faint shrug, "actually that's the reason I got into card reading..." She answered before putting back up her license and pulling out her deck. "I was born with poor vision. But not so poor that I couldn't have correctional surgery, but my parents couldn't afford it. So I worked hard as soon as I was able to, and when I turned 18 I signed up."

Aki had stood there with this polite expression of interest in her face. But on the inside she could only take note of Carly's pained smile. From someone who could beam the most optimistic smile this one looked wounded. A type of smile that Aki would have believed Carly never smiled before, and that the muscles needed had atrophy over the years.

Carly had taken her small fork and began cutting into the slice of cake she had ordered. The icing pulled like cream as the cake crumbled like dreams to the stark white plate it rested on.

"I mean we all try to do something psychic at least once in our lives right? If not tarot, its astrology or some nut job..." Carly shook her head as her voice reflected those memories. "Card readings are costly, and I found my Fortune fairies in booster packs. I wasn't going to use them actually, they were more throw away cards to me at the time. But they were so cute and pretty I couldn't throw them out or give them away. I kept them and on that day I gave myself a reading... I was like 'sure why not'."

Carly paused, and for Aki who could see the spirits, they floated just entranced by the story as well. Making Aki remember in passing that the spirits had awaken to being personalities in the years since that surgery.

"Worst luck. I refused to reschedule, thought it was fake. Went under the laser and went from just being unable to drive at night to... all the rest.." She pulled off her glasses, and Aki could only see the emotion that went behind that glib and happy smile. Worn out, pain and regret. "With my glasses I can see my spirits when you bring them out, without them, all I see are these blurred orbs of light..." She shrugged, "Learned my lesson though. Listen to my deck in all decisions." With that Carly began shoveling cake in an effort to silence her own voice.

"Once I get my license we'll go riding, you and me!" Aki promised.

"With what ride?" Carly scoffed in amusement though she smiled all the same. "Have you any idea what type of ride you want? For your D-Wheel?"

Aki blinked and gave a slight shrug, she opened her mouth only for her voice to be drowned out by an alarm. She straightened in her seat as did every other person and spirit as they heard the sound, their gazes turning straight towards the source. PowerTool had its eyes flashing alarm lights, while it was staring off to the side. The others followed the machines' gaze, where in the distance something pink was rushing towards them.

"Isn't that Cyber Petite Angel? That's Asuka's, why is PowerTool alarmed?" Aki asked the teens around her as she stood up.

But the question was answered as the little angel approached, its flight was unstable, dipping down and straining to regain altitude.

"Somethings wrong, Witch can you help it get here?" Yusei asked, as Witch floated past.

"Yeah yeah..." Witch replied as she glided easily through the air, with even Carly's own fairies following behind as back up.

The kids were climbing out of the pool in growing worry while the dragons were arching their necks up to see as well. With them out of the pool Archfiend finally stepped out from under the table and joined in as well.

While Witch flew ahead of the fairies and a frown crossed her face. Angel was wounded, there was signs of injury and fatigue marring its pink round body and flight. It was using its wings to boost its movement speed and wincing with every flex of those wings. Around her the Fairies were calling encouragement to Angel, even Hu attempted to help, by manipulating the wind to aid the little being.

"They don't look good," Swee noted as they glided over human city streets and buildings to reach the wounded Angel.

Carried on the wind was the heavy scent of nature on fire. It sent the hackles up, as smoke began to filter into the air. In D-Wheels there was no way to filter out the smoke as they rode headlong into it. Aki was side riding with Yusei on YuseiGo, Jack was riding along side in Wheel of Fortune while Crow on his BlackBird was on Yusei's right. Behind them was Carly in her little yellow bug with the twins and Cyber Petite Angel on Ruka's lap.

Above PowerTool was ahead of all of them, its propulsion sending it ahead of the other dragons as it scanned the area. Stardust, Black Rose, and Archfiend were taking up the back, mostly over the riders and about scanning the area with their own naked sight. Evening was going to be approaching soon enough and finding the teens would be harder. Witch and the Fairies were flying about Carly's car to protect the quartet inside, antsy as they flew. Even the wing beats of the dragons were enough to get them to glance up, though they knew it was the dragons.

"So this is what it must be like to work for Security," Crow finally had to break the silence and began chatting away over their comms. "From normal to emergency in seconds flat..."

"Hmmm. Or how it feels to find out a natural disaster happened on the other side of the planet, while working for an emergency rescue group." Jack agreed as he eyed the landscape before them.

"I guess we really aren't expected to consider ourselves the de facto 'world protectors'," Crow noted. "You know if we were, how 'are' we expected to deal with something that happens on the other side of the world? Use the Duel Spirit world or what?"

"Well with it not triggering our Marks, the only reason we knew this happened was because of the Spirits." Yusei pointed out, his voice as his mind went back over what they could discern from Angel's weakened plea for help.

But all they could get was that the trouble was in this direction...

Alarms shattered the monotonous sound of D-Wheels, car, and dragon wings. It caused the dragons to rear up in surprise and break their formation and roar in complaint. Ahead of them the sound began to slow up as PowerTool took over the place above Yusei, the noise continuing unabated.

"You think PowerTool found them?" Crow asked worriedly.

"Yes," Jack replied with stubborn confidence, "otherwise he's found their corpses and I refuse to let the twins see 'that'."

"One way to verify," Yusei replied before tilting his head back a bit to call up. "PowerTool can you verify human life signs ahead?"

Aki looked up allowing Yusei to continue to drive undeterred, "PowerTool nodded yes, as for that noise though..."

"Wow, the idiot actually did something good..." Archfiend noted in strained casual amusement.

"You see it too," Stardust asked and got a bobbing dragon head for an answer.

"Looks like that Judai brat managed to power up his spirits to form a shield..." The dragon noted before roaring out, "hey stupid brat! We're here you can drop that thing!"

"You think Archfiend forgot that not everyone can understand dragon speak?" Ruka asked as she peered up at the ceiling of Carly's car, her hands stroking Cyber Petite Angels' back.

"What's he saying?" Carly asked with a raised eyebrow. All she saw was an beastly roar that made her ponder if they were angery or not.

"Well not much, just that Captain Judai apparently created some type of shield to protect everyone... And to take it down..." Rua answered as he stared down at Petite. "You know it kind of sucks that they're not like real real... I mean I bet if we gave it some food or water it would feel better."

"Well there is food and water in the Duel Spirit world, but I see your point. Duel Spirit world food is fine for Duel Spirits, earth foods are well..."
