Intro: While Lucy, Natsu, and Happy are sleeping, someone breaks in. Not realizing the dragon slayer is there, they start to creep up on Lucy. What will happen?

The couple was sound asleep on the bed with Happy under the covers near their feet. Natsu, doing his weird thing he does ever since they started dating, had his head under the covers and was hugging Lucy to him as close as he could. It was odd, since the first month of them dating, Lucy woke up every morning thinking Natsu left or something seeing as she couldn't see him. But then would look down and see a body shape figure beside her. Neither of them could figure out why he does that, but he does.
A dark shadow of a figure moved towards Lucy's door. As they got closer, they dug into their pocket for something, bringing out a bobby pin, they worked on unlocking her door. The soon-to-be intruder knew exactly who lived here. He's heard a lot about Lucy Hearfilia. The daughter of Jude and Layla Heartfilia. Rich, good body, and rare magic that can be used for certain things. What was there not to like?
He slowly opened the door after he got it unlocked. Slowly opening the door he walked into the dark living room. He could see the bed on the other side of the room. He let out a small smirk as he carefully made his way over to the left corner of the house. As he got closer to the blonde female he started to smile even more. He was very glad he found out all the information about this blonde headed mage. He reached out a hand towards the girl only to feel something very hot grab it. He looked up into eyes that were glowing red. "Who the hell are you?!" the voice shouted. The intruder immediately tried to back up, however he couldn't from the grip on his arm. The voice woke up the blonde girl and she sat straight up seeing her boyfriend holding back the arm of someone else.
Not being able to reach her keys nor whip, she had no choice but to hide behind her boyfriend. Her boyfriend definitely did not mind though, as he stared at the intruder that dared to even try to lay a hand on his girlfriend. He raised the heat in his body and set his hand on fire, burning the mans arm that he was holding. "I asked you, who you were! Who are you? Why are you trying to touch MY Luce?!" The now known as salmon haired man yelled furiously. The man now having his arm burned, heart racing, and scared for his life tried to punch the other mage in the face so he could get away. That however did not work as the mage caught his hand. Looking behind the mage, he could see the blonde girl as well as a blue haired cat. All was glaring at him, and he knew he would not be leaving unscathed.
After many minutes of physically harming the man, Natsu threw him out of Lucy's apartment giving him a warning the man would never forget. "You make sure you never come near my girl again! You stay the hell away from her!" With that the man ran off, forgetting every thought he had about the girl. There was no way he was going back now. Never in a million years. As soon as Natsu knew the man was gone he turned around and looked at Lucy. "Are you okay Luce?" Lucy let out a small smile and nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. Thank you Natsu." Natsu nodded, glad that Lucy was fine. However, he was upset that the man was even able to get in. Lucy, noticing Natsu was looking away from her, was curious about what was wrong. "What's wrong Natsu?" she asked.
Natsu, knowing he would not be able to lie to her, looked up and admitted it. "He was able to get inside Luce. He was almost able to touch you. He could have hurt you if I didn't smell him in time." he explained while looking down, too upset at himself to be able to look her in the face. Lucy frowned, not liking the way Natsu was sounding. She stood up and walked over to him and grabbed his face. "Listen, you're fine. It's not your fault you couldn't smell him. But, the point is, you did smell him before he caused any harm. Okay?" Lucy said seriously. Natsu tried to speak up, "But Luc-", but Lucy cut him off with a kiss on the lips. After a few seconds she pulled back. "You did fine Natsu. Thank you for protecting me." she said while hugging him. Natsu smiled and hugged her back. They stayed like that for many minutes before laying back down. Natsu laid there cuddling his girlfriend for the rest of the night.
(A/N: I've actually been wanting to write a story like this for 3 weeks now. But I decided to do it as a short story. I'm not sure if I'm pleased with this or not, so I might make a story for it all on it's own at some point. Anyways, I have 2 requests to write up! Expect them soon!)
