Following the ring battles Rosetta got back to work searching for Nero, starting with the locations Squalo gave to her. Unfortunately the leads he gave her had run cold, which made her a little aggravated. Dino caught onto this and so travelled to the school with the intention to propose something to help get her mind off of things for a while.
"Cavallone, what brings you here?" Emilio commented with mild surprise when arriving at the front offfice to see who had been asking for a visitor's pass. He then smirked and continued snarkily. "Did you come to finally take those makeup classes?"
Dino glared at him in response. "I graduated with pretty good grades thank you very much." He said with an annoyed tone. "Why do you always have to take a dig at me every time we meet?"
"Dunno. I just kind of find it amusing." The brown haired male answered with a shrug. "By the way you don't need a visitor's pass when the day's lessons are over." - Dino glared at him once more, this time blushing with chagrin - "So what did you come for?"
The Cavallone boss regained his composure before giving his reply. "I came to see Rosetta. I she still here?"
Emilio looked a little taken aback for a moment then he said, "Yeah, I'll take you to her office."
He then did as he said and within minutes the two males were standing at the door. Emilio knocked once and got a response immediately. He opened the door and found Rosetta within the midst of a phone call.
"I swear every time things seem to die down over there something new has to go and happen!" She complained over the phone with a slightly annoyed tone.
She then pinched the bridge of her nose in thought for a moment. "Look, whatever happened might not be too serious, so just remain alert for the time being." - she then noticed the males standing in her office - "I have to go now but keep me posted. Bye."
She hung up the phone and that's when Emilio spoke. "I hope you don't mind but Cavallone wanted to see you."
"Oh, ok." The Mezzanotte boss uttered in response, blushing lightly before remembering something. "Oh Emilio, I have some paperwork for you to go through." She then handed him a pile of papers and he accepted them gratefully before leaving the two bosses alone.
"So what did you need?" Rosetta asked after a minute of awkward silence. "I still have a lot of important things that need my attention."
"Oh, right. Well that's just the thing. You seem to be handling a lot of jobs at the same time and after noticing you've been exhausted from them I thought I'd propose a we could take a little vacation time…together." Dino answered, blushing a little while gazing at her expectantly.
The Mezzanotte boss gave her answer immediately. "I'd like that but Dino you know I have to decline. We can't be seen together for obvious reasons…"
"I know that but I can't ignore the fact that you're running yourself ragged." He reasoned with her. "We can go at different times, meet there like it's a coincidence and I'll pay for everything. Please, we both know that you need a break."
Rosetta thought for a long minute, then replied with, "Okay. I guess I could use one anyway. Work is going nowhere at the moment and I believe my men could handle things while I'm gone." She said, unconsciously cracking a gentle smile.
In her mind however she couldn't help but wonder about the call she'd had just now and the fact that the Vongola guardians were disappearing into thin air one by one…
