Intro: All of team Natsu gets to go on vacation, a part of a reward from a mission they go on. Natsu and Lucy have been dating for a few years now, what could happen during this vacation?
Lucy laughed as she ran up to Natsu and grabbed his arm. "Awe, come on, you're not that mad, right?" Natsu just grumbled but still gave her a peck on the lips letting her know that no, he was not mad. Lucy couldn't help but continue to giggle as she thought back to what just happened. While Natsu was fighting Gray, Lucy had found a starfish. A hidden fact from everyone else that she knew, was that Natsu feared starfish. Because they are "slimy and have weird suction holes". While Natsu had been distracted with Gray she crept up on him and scared him to death when holding a starfish out towards him.
After that he walked off ignoring her for the rest of the day at the beach. Now, they were heading back towards the hotel. Lucy hummed as she walked beside Natsu. She noticed how Natsu tensed and put his arm around her waist, tightening her grip. Curiously she looked up and saw Natsu's eyes glued to the left side of them, she turned her head and saw what had him nervous. Lucy couldn't help but give a small smile and roll her eyes as she turned her head back around. Apparently some teenage boys were checking her out, and Natsu was jealous. He does this very often, and Lucy can't help but find his overprotectiveness cute. As if she would leave him for anyone, especially teenage boys.
When they got back to the hotel, Natsu ushered Lucy into the shower with some fancy dress clothes to wear. Mentioning something about going somewhere after. Lucy had no idea that they had plans, so her entire shower time she stood there confused and trying to figure out where they could be going. She hummed the entire time while shampooing her hair and washing her body of the sea water and sand. After she finished her shower, she got out and put her dress on. She considered doing her hair and makeup but chose not too. She was pretty exhausted, and she figured she would pass out when they got back from wherever they were going. Exiting the bathroom she noticed Natsu in a suit and tie. She gave a smirk and asked, "Are we going somewhere special?"
Natsu gave her a lookover and walked over and gave her a slow kiss. Pulling back he said, "You'll just have to see. Now, come on or we'll be late." Lucy gave a curious look but continued to follow Natsu outside the hotel room and to the main lobby of the hotel. A short walk about 15 minutes away, they finally hit their destination. A fancy small restaurant stood in front of them. As they walked in, someone walked up to them. "Name of reservation?" the waiter asked politely. "Dragneel." Natsu replied. The waiter nodded and led them over to a table, Natsu held Lucy's hand the entire time.
They ordered their food and had a casual conversation. Going back in memories, joking and laughing, among other things. All in all, they had a great time. Lucy loved hearing the band play on stage in the background of her and Natsu's silence, it was very calm and romantic. Surprising for Natsu, but it's a one time thing she'll accept. After they ordered their desert she sighed in happiness. "Natsu, this was very kind of you." she said with a smile. Natsu gave her a smile back as he continued to sip his drink.
As their desert arrived, the two sat there joking and every now and then letting the other try their desert. By the end of it, it was one of the best dates they've had. She figured they would be getting ready to leave, but was shocked when Natsu grabbed her hand, stopping her from getting up. Lucy looked at him curiously. Natsu took a breath and started his speech. "Lucy, you mean the absolute world to me. We started as strangers, who grew to be friends, who grew to be best friends, who grew to be girlfriend & boyfriend. We've been at this stage for 3 years now, and I think we should take the next step. That is if you accept. We've been together for many years now, and I know I want to spend the rest of my life with you. So, I hope you accept me in the rest of your life as well. Lucy, will you marry me?" Lucy couldn't stop the tears that cascaded down her cheeks and she stared at Natsu. She finally looked down at the ring that he held out while kneeling down. It was a princess cut diamond type of ring. With one big stone in the middle, with a smaller one on each side. Lucy let out a big smile as she looked him in the eyes. "Yes."
