A sterile peaceful atmosphere was what one could call a 'hospital garden', it was too neat. Rows of plants that were placed along concrete pathways with mathematical precision. Stone benches placed with equal thought, far enough apart to permit private conversations. Yet close enough that staff would have little time wasted trying to reach the patient. Occasional small trees that rose up at branches marring this garden, its branches trimmed to a perfect sphere upon a light brown trunk. It had everything a person could want.

Except empathy.

A manufactured reproduction of a peaceful surrounding. Even the sun above them felt more like an intrusive loud personality walking through the grounds because it could.

Aki preferred the grounds of a temple as an intersection between man and nature.

Nature and man met most comfortably there, the grounds tended to keep nature from overwhelming the shrine or the guests. But just as welcomed. As the light of the sun peeked through branches and leaves, dancing on morning dew.

This place didn't feel welcoming, and the spirits that had gathered seemed to pick up on that. Over a hundred different healing spirits had arrived, filling the space with all manners of fairies, spell casters, even the occasional Cyber. Some were looming over everything, others ever so tiny, and Aki wasn't sure if she should be elated to see so many. Or terrified that it wouldn't work.

"Trust God if She says it will work, it will work. Nothings' brave enough to defy Her Will I think," Witch had tried to reassure her as they rode to the hospital. Witch easily soaring along beside the human pair.

"Why are you worried Aki? Witch has a point." Yusei pointed out as he eased YuseiGo into the passing lane.

"Its just, I know Momoes' deck and what she likes. None of the boys from the school sent flowers or came over. Not like the girls for Ryo and the guys, and you saw how that crushed Momoe. Most healing spirits are these beautiful, elegant spirits, so beautiful, few aren't and I'm just afraid. I'm afraid that even if a spirit 'wants' Momoe, she's going to look at her self and reject them."

Aki was a walking manifestation of pensive to Yusei's discerning eye. He had gone to a wall to lean against it, out of sight of any patient who might take offense at a Marked man on the grounds. The heat should have been stifling, what with all the concrete for the grounds and walls. Yet he felt oddly cool, comfortable really and had to wonder if it was the nature of healing spirits. 'Aki says they're here, and their function is to heal. So does that mean, with enough of them, they can unintentionally start giving off a type of healing or comfort energy? Momentum works on a principle like that, gathering energy that is united and channeled into a purpose...'

The Rose Duelist walked to his side to be with him, finding comfort in his calm, even disinterested expression. Even if he was unaware that he was in between a towering, leaf green gowned Mystical Elf and cooly disinterested Psychic Lifetrancer with her cold blue skin and deep blue attire with the cybernetic arm. "School was interesting, the students are more 'excited' by the thought of having classes with a real Duel Spirit. Rather than upset at the lie," Aki began fishing for a simple start to idle conversation.

"It didn't affect them, so there's no reason to judge him for his act." Yusei pointed out as he looked about.

"Maybe, but, a duel spirit?" Aki asked while she saw Momoe and company starting to be brought out.

"Yes, but they've only met their partners, it would be a different story if they met Yubel."

Aki winced at the name, while the pair watched how Junko hobbled over to the bench, putting her crutch to the side. Her leg was in a full cast, while she wore a large dress that could easily be brought over her head. Since she couldn't wear pants or shorts anymore. Momoe sat with an IV bag hanging from the rolling stand, but she wore just the generic pale blue hospital gown and robe.

"I'll be here if you need me. Unless they can handle my presence," Yusei offered shooting a concerned glance at the pair as the nurses took their leave.

"Yusei," it was all she had to say before he pushed himself away from the wall and fell in step behind her.

The spirits were inquisitive...

"That girl is missing a good portion of her leg," Mystic Elf mused with pity on her voice.

"Under that wrapping yeah, I can sense it too..." Lifetrancer agreed even as she watched a Fire Princess leave.

The poor spirit took one look at the pair and shook her head... "I can not say I blame her, humans damaged by fire rarely wants a fire spirit so close to them." Mystic Elf noted quietly while the pair of humans finally left the hearing range.

"Her leg?" Yusei asked and was silenced by a firm shake of the head.

Ahead of them Asuka was leading the rest of the guys into the garden, her brother was in her shadow, Ryo and Kazu behind them.

"Its for the best we do this outside, the two of them have been cooped up in that room for too long. They need fresh air, sunlight, it can't be good that they've been in their hospital room nonstop since this began," Ryo declared when Yusei and brought the complied list.

"Understood."

The guys moved with a little more swing in their motion, signs that the burns were easing away, freeing them from the scabs and bruises. By now they would have been able to wear their normal day clothes as far as Yusei understood. Perhaps it was rooted in a need to show solidarity with their most wounded members? They came and settled around the girls needlessly hovering over the pair in this mostly empty garden.

Unless one could see Duel Spirits.

They were so curious about the girls, and it was for Aki's eyes only to see the heart break as it began. There had been several Fire Princesses, but one by one they were starting to disappear even as Sky Scout and Cyber Harpy Lady made their presence known.

"Are they here yet?" Asuka asked as the pair approached the group and Aki was forced to begrudgingly nod.

"I think I took for granted that spirits are spirits. I didn't take into account spirits bound to trap or spell cards." Aki confessed as she looked about.

"Poor girls, I wish we could do something for them," a warm voice manifested behind Aki causing her to turn around to a tall, rotund figure.

Dian looked down at the pair and then at the group around them before they started shaking their head. "All of you mean well, and I see what Ancient Fairy meant, but there's a good number of spirits here who, to heal, must sacrifice something... True it might not have the same meaning when not in one of your duels. But these poor little lambs are so hurt, it would be impossible to ask them to sacrifice more."

"I don't mind," Sky retorted with a hint of desperation in his voice, his deep red feathers ruffled. "Anything to help my partner anything at all!"

"Yes, they're here, are you both ready?" Aki turned her gaze down to Momoe and Junko.

Junko looked up at her with this tight smile on her face while her hands danced like spiders feet on her lap. But it was more than what Momoe gave as she shied away at any sudden movement. Quickly turning her head when she caught sight of Yusei intentionally walking into her line of sight.

"Ok, well," Aki gave a faint hand gesture, the only thing she could think 'to' give when the garden went from mostly empty to crowded.

"You must be Junko and Momoe," Dians' voice was the first that the girls heard directed at them. "I'm the original Dian Keto, and we were called here by our generous ruler who knew of your plight. That and this young human has the ability to summon us into your world and allow us to use our abilities." Their voice brought to mind soup to Aki, warm, comforting, it just set her mind to ease and made her realize she never really spent any time with 'healer' types.

"Yes, ah hello..." Junko began getting up, pulling her crutch up when a nurse with angel wings appeared and supported her so she could stand. "Ahh 'original'?" Junko began her head tilted to the side in question.

Dian nodded with a smile on their face, "I used to be human like you, I lived as a healer only to be killed. But I liked healing so much that I stuck around as a ghost until I was sealed into well..." They gestured down at themselves, "we spirits have multiple ways we become what we are... Once we get this business done I'll be more than happy to tell you about myself." They offered inwardly wincing at the corrupt fire.

Yusei was taken aback, but happily so, as Dian had proven to deftly step in for the kids around them. The other spirits obliging the healer by forming a line and allowing each spirit to introduce themselves to the girls. It was quite the assortment as well, from angel winged fairies, to robots, even a goddess or two stepped in and some weren't here to heal. But they had come with an earnest intention to bring healing items that they thought might help. A shark toothed goblin grave robber had presented a large silver and red stoned magic thing that it only knew to call 'shiny'.

Fubukis' attention was suddenly caught to a goblin that was ambling into the area, the gang was dispersed chatting with spirits who had met with the girls. But this goblin had a young girl spirit with it, at least that's how it appeared to him. Leaf green skin, water blue hair, and gold wings and clothes, he didn't recognize her. She appeared younger than a good number of the spirits around him, and followed with this lifeless ambling bobbing motion.

Which was all he needed to see as he made his way over, "hi there, thanks for coming!" he waved at the pair and the goblin waved cheerfully at Fubuki.

"Ancient Fairy call, we answer. Ancient Fairy good to us," the goblin pointed out before pointing a sick green, crooked finger towards Junko and Momoe. "Them need healer?"

"Yes, ahh and your friend here is the healer?" He asked, said spirit had yet to look at him, as brightly colored as she was she didn't appear... 'here'.

"Not friend. Not finished. Partner sleeping in box, brought her here. She help, they help. Much good." The goblin answered cheerfully despite startling Fubuki.

'Sleeping in box'? So the spirits' partner is dead?' Fubuki thought to himself as the goblin ambled through thoughtless of the receiving line that Dian had created.

"Found! Still not working right! But found!"

"What? Kazu blinked a little confused as he started to move in out of concern. The others turning to observe this sudden outburst.

"Ahh yes, Spirit of the Breeze. A young half complete spirit," Dian explained gesturing to the pair to come over. "Spirit wandered off and this nice child went and found her for me so I could come straight here."

"How is she not complete?" Momoe asked, the spirit had the rounded face and form that made Momoe think of a young girl, rather than the beautiful goddesses who had been glided by her vision. 'She looks 'finished' to me.'

Dian nodded, encouraged that Momoe finally showed a bit of interest, "well her partner was a young boy. And when a human forms an attachment to the image on a card, that energy can be much like a seed. Watered with attention, and warmed with love these seeds grow into Duel Spirits. Though understandably it is only the start of the process; Spirits, like very young plants, take time to develop their robust personalities. Your bond to Sky Scout created the same thing, he developed in response to your ideas and feelings. It was a tragic loss of her partner though, Spirit can freely heal anyone, only he couldn't summon her..." Dian explained as they gently guided Spirit of the Breeze forward so Momoe could see.

"But I..."

"HELP! We need help!"

An Ojama Yellow tumbled out of the sky, its unusual form crashed into the ground with the speed of someone thrown. The sound of a bone snapping startling the group as a Mystical Elf immediately set to. Yusei, Ryo and Fubuki immediately put themselves between Junko and Momoe and the injured spirit. While an uproar among the spirits filled the air as questions got called.

"Yubel attacked, there are wounded that need help!" Ojama called out its voice fairly high pitched and panicked as the healers set to healing their injuries. "The desert village near here well in our word compared to the portal..." The spirit began pointing while yammering on, while Dian looked behind them.

"Show me to the portal," Yusei instructed the spirit, startling the healer.

"What?" Dian was taken aback as was the group.

"Aki stay and help the spirits heal up the girls then you can come as well," he ordered while Ryo shook his head.

"What makes you think you'll fare better than we did? You saw what happened to us and our spirits," he pointed out looming over Yusei as worry settled in. "You may be the Turbo Duel King but Yubel is something else."

"You didn't know you were being attacked. With the only way you know how to fight are sanctioned battles where everyone plays fair and danger isn't involved. I'm sure my spirits can at least scan what Yubel can do and if they can pick up on whatever this 'Light' is can help." Yusei pointed out earning a nod of realization from Kazu.

"You're not going to fight, you want to spy... makes sense if no one has seen Yubel recently enough to get that kind of study done..." Kazu acknowledged. Even as the healers began to disappear in droves.

Dian looked at the girls before bending down a bit to get Momoe's eyes on their face. "I will return, but until then, please look after Spirit of the Breeze for me, she tends to wander. And I'd feel better if she was with good people."

Momoe nodded as she studied Dian's rounded face and then turned to look at Spirit. The spirit looked so lost and alone for all its soft bright colors... "Be careful, Yubel is terrible."

Dian nodded and gave a big smile as they faded out of sight while a Guardian Angel Joan glided over on her clear wings. "The portal is in the park, between two trees. Be careful there's a spider that made a web there. But that's how you can tell you found the tree." She informed Yusei before disappearing.

Yusei nodded and took off in a run while Aki retained this poised, smug smile on her face before settling in with the girls.

"You... aren't worried?" Asuka asked unabashedly shocked as she sat across from the trio.

"Nope, Yusei doesn't have any abilities or a Duel Spirit to open the portal. You got in because you had Honest and Judai's power is sleeping but still enough to open a portal."

She sat there with her arms crossed and rather smug while everyone else was left floored. "Aki help your boyfriend!"

The Rose Duelists' expression became bitter as she looked down at the concrete path at her feet. "He's not my boyfriend. Divine is still loose and if I were to date Yusei.. Being friends is fine, Divine will just torture him... date him..." Aki shook her head. "Bones heal, flesh mends, but I can't bring the dead back. Until Divine is caught and stopped... I won't put Yuseis' life on the line like that. And he knows that."

"I... I'm late aren't I? Damn it!"

The humans straightened up at the put upon voice before looking around in confusion, their gazes falling on a newly arrived Duel Spirit. No mistaking her for a human, with her centaur body of deep greens and black, the white hair or the helmet. Arms crossed and tail lashing angrily the centaur began sulking as she stood there. One hoof began stamping a beat into the ground as she looked about.

"Hello dear lady," Fubuki offered before Junko openly squealed.

"Cyber Angel Natasha!"
