That night Tsuna awoke with a start multiple times. He would turn drowsily to the clock next to his bed and see that it was still hours before the alarm was supposed to go off, then returned to laying on his back with a sigh.

Eventually he came to the conclusion that his restlessness was most likely the result of Gokudera's warning weighing heavy on his mind. Sure Rosetta looked pretty aloof to him, but he didn't sense any malicious intent from her and Reborn seemed close enough to her to trust her as much as he did.

'And if it's true that she is that close with Dino-san too,' Tsuna thought in conclusion. 'Maybe I'll ask him what he thinks about her…' He trailed off, feeling his eyelids getting heavy so he allowed them to close, falling asleep once more.

Next thing he knew his alarm was going off and his mom was calling up the stairs in an attempt to get him up. Tsuna jolted awake in response got up quickly and headed down for breakfast. When he entered the kitchen he saw all the usual suspects with the addition of…

"Hey Tsuna," Dino greeted casually, getting the brunette teen's attention.

"Dino-san! When did you get here?" The teen replied somewhat happily.

"Really late last night." The Cavallone boss answered tiredly. "Thankfully Rosetta was there to welcome me so I wouldn't have to worry too much."

After hearing Rosetta's name spoken, Tsuna realized that she was currently nowhere to be seen and said, "Speaking of, where is-."

"Sorry it took me longer than I thought," he heard the woman in question apologize from the direction of the bathroom, making him tense up before turning to face her. She in turn noticed him and continued, "Oh. good morning, Tsuna-kun." - she paused and suddenly became concerned - "You're looking a little pale. Are you okay?"

"Um, y-yeah?" He replied, sounding a little uncertain as he took a step back. After doing so he noticed that she was wearing a white button up shirt with elbow length sleeves under a dark blue vest and matching capri length slacks. "You're dressed more formally today, Rosetta-san."

"Yes, because I'll be visiting your school as a special observer." The Mezzanotte boss answered while the two of them sat at the table to start eating.

"An observer?" Tsuna dared to ask curiously. "Of what?"

"Your classes of course," Reborn explained. "Rosetta has watched you and your guardians in most combat situations and now she wants to observe you all in a more casual setting."

"I also want to formally introduce myself as their ally too if possible," she added before starting to eat.

"Are you sure that will go as well as you think?" Dino asked with a little concern. "You did tell me that Gokudera was very wary of you when he saw you yesterday."

"And he was the same when he first met you in person too, Dino." Rosetta rebutted quickly with a pout.

"Gokudera is like that towards everyone at first. It takes time for him to warm up to you." The hitman tutor stated in response. "Others may not be too willing to trust you right off the bat either. That is, unless you have Tsuna's support."

The Vongola boss in training tensed up but said nothing as he diverted his eyes from the two conversing and started to eat a little faster. It was at this time that he happened to notice that Dino's men weren't around but he wasn't eating messily like he usually did…

"While Tsuna-kun's influence would make things easier, I would like to get on good terms with his guardians by using my own methods." The Mezzanotte boss suddenly announced with confidence. "And I have a foolproof plan to help make that happen." - she then noticed what time it was - "Oh, I have to be meeting the principal soon. I'll see you later, Tsuna-kun. Goodbye Dino."

She then bent down and unconsciously planted a kiss on his cheek, then straightened quickly when realizing what she had done and that everyone's eyes were on them. "Um, it's customary to kiss each other's cheeks when saying hello or goodbye in Italy!" she quickly explained before kissing his other cheek and then leaving.

Tsuna and the others silently watched her leave in a hurry and once he heard the front door close he knew he had a chance to talk to his senior now. The brunette teen turned back to face Dino only to find that he had somehow made a mess of his meal in the time he had looked away.

The teen exclaimed with surprise at this and called the attention of the boss to it, who also exclaimed before laughing nervously with embarrassment. "I thought I finally got the hang of chopsticks but I guess I still haven't perfected the technique…" he said. "Hopefully Rosetta didn't see this."

"Nope. You were lucky enough to keep your composure this time." Reborn stated in reply.

His older student laughed again. "You know she tells me she doesn't mind this side of me but I can't help but want to be cool and dependable around her."

"Wait, Rosetta actually likes it when you're clumsy?!" Tsuna asked with disbelief.

"Yeah, if you can believe that." The Cavallone boss answered with a chuckle. "You know, I do feel a bit aggravated whenever it happens but now whenever I think of Rosetta, her smile and her laugh…I realize it isn't all that bad after all, unless my clumsiness gets me into trouble that is."

A moment of silence followed so Tsuna finally took his chance to ask. "About Rosetta-san…" he started hesitantly. "What exactly does she do as a boss?"

"I have no idea. We're not allies so she can't really share that kind of information with me," Dino answered honestly with a shrug.

He noticed the teen's shoulders slump in response to this however and continued. "I can tell you with confidence though that she's not a bad person. Sure her family seems to attract disaster but I've known Rosetta since we were little, and she hasn't seemed terrible at all to me. She may seem aloof and cool most of the time but she really cares deeply about those around her. Trust me, I've seen emotions she rarely ever shows to even her own men…"

He trailed off, gazing into the distance as he seemed to remember something deep and sad before returning to Tsuna with an apologetic smile. "Sorry I didn't mean to get so deep and emotional."

The brunette teen could only guiltily apologize in response for bringing up such a deep subject while Reborn silently sipped his post breakfast cup of coffee with a stoic expression on his face. He then mentioned the time to his current student, who got up in a hurry to get ready and leave.

Once the two males were alone Reborn spoke up and said, "So it is true that you and Rosetta do have a secret relationship of sorts."

Dino flinched in response and turned to his former tutor, blushing a bright red. "How would you figure that, Reborn…?" He asked, his voice breaking before he could finish the question.

"A teacher always knows what his students are up to, past or present. Plus anyone could see through that slip up from before. Italians don't kiss each other on the cheek goodbye." The small hitman stated with a smirk. "That, and I knew of your plans to woo Rosetta once she returned from her trip. You would plan for days only to scrap it and come up with a better one-."

"Okay that's enough embarrassment." The Cavallone interrupted. "Though truthfully I'm just there for her in an affectionate way. All I can do when she breaks down is sit there and be witness to it. I'm a disgrace of a man…"

"No you're not. I'm sure Rosetta knows you're there, and she knows you would be there always regardless of whether she needs you or not." Reborn advised calmly. "You just have to be patient. The time will come when she'll be willing to share everything…"

'Perhaps even sooner than we think…' he finished in thought.

.

Meanwhile Tsuna's morning carried on like usual until his homeroom teacher arrived and announced that they'd have someone observing their class for the first half of the day. Rosetta was then introduced and surprisingly well received by his classmates - except for Gokudera of course.

She reassured them by telling them she'd be discreet and that all they had to do was go about their day as usual. The class lessons started and from then on the students were a bit tense but they got through the morning in one piece.

Tsuna however was a bundle of nerves whenever he was called on as he was too conscious of Rosetta taking meticulous notes on his failures. When realizing that he had actually survived the morning the Vongola boss in training let out a sigh of relief.

"I wouldn't be relaxing just yet, Tsuna-kun," Rosetta commented from nearby, making him tense up once more in response. "You didn't do too well in class for someone under Reborn's tutelage…"

The brunette teen gulped nervously and stumbled over his words in an attempt to answer but was rendered speechless.

The Mezzanotte boss chuckled after a moment, catching him off guard and continued, "It's okay, Tsuna-kun. I was just messing with you." - she then became serious once more - "But you really should be trying to get better grades. Average doesn't do well for an aspiring boss."

All the teen could do in response was laugh nervously before remembering something. "Hey Rosetta-san, didn't our teacher specifically say you'd be observing our class in the morning?" He asked and she nodded in reply. "What are you doing in the afternoon, then?"

"After lunch I'll be heading to Ryohei Sasagawa's class to observe him, then all that's left is seeing Hibari Kyoya of course." She answered thoughtfully.

"Of course…" Tsuna repeated anxiously, dreading what could happen if she got on Hibari's bad side.

The Mezzanotte boss then told the teen to have a good lunch before leaving the classroom.

After lunch Rosetta did head to Ryohei's class but only stayed for a couple lessons as she saw very quickly that the sun guardian approached his studies in the same way that he would when fighting. She then climbed the stairs to the roof, remembering that this is where her friend would say he could usually find his student…

"And here we are…" the Mezzanotte boss stated when emerging and walking out to the chain link fence surrounding the roof's edge. "Wow, you can almost see the whole neighborhood from up here. It's peaceful and quiet, and the air is so fresh." - she paused, smirking just as she noticed a figure in her peripheral - "It's the perfect place to get away from it all, but shouldn't you be in class…Hibari Kyoya?"

"Who are you to lecture me?" The black haired teen asked sternly, narrowing his gray colored eyes at her suspiciously. "I don't even know you."

"Oh, but I know you quite well," Rosetta said in response. "I have been told quite a bit about you by a very good friend of mine who happens to be your mentor."

"So you know the blonde herbivore." Hibari stated bluntly. "Then you're not worth my time. I suggest you leave or I'll bite you to death."

"Are you sure I'm not worth your time?" The brunette asked, sounding slightly offended. "Do I not seem remotely familiar to you?" - the teen was silent, his expression remaining unchanged - "How about…now?"

She then held out a hand and brought forth a small indigo colored flame which earned a confused and shocked gaze from the black haired male.

"So you're the one I sensed when fighting the blonde herbivore," Hibari concluded. "You had the same unnerving aura as that person and you seemed stronger so I asked him but he was too vague, only telling me that I'd meet you eventually." - he paused while pulling his tonfa out - "Now I have a chance to bite you to death myself."

"I didn't come looking for a fight though," Rosetta tried to tell him but she was ignored.

Hibari was quick to close the gap between them, taking his first swing at her with one of his tonfa. She quickly dodged and moved around him so she was standing behind, then drew her retractable staff. Meanwhile Hibari had already turned around and was attempting another attack on his opponent.

'He's faster than I had anticipated…' Rosetta mused in thought while blocking his next barrage of attacks. 'Looks like I have no choice but to get serious.'

She then looked away for a moment before rushing forward to attack him back but he blocked her easily and continued to try and corner her. The Mezzanotte boss waited for just the right moment and then made a double using her mist flames so she could get away.

She managed to escape so she used the opportunity for a surprise attack. Unfortunately Hibari somehow saw through it and countered her, almost as if he had known exactly what she was going to do.

"You're pretty good." Rosetta commented as they clashed. "Dino taught you well…"

"That herbivore is no teacher of mine." The black haired teen retorted before pulling back. He then went in for a final strike and his blow hit but it left him surprised.

Not only had his opponent taken his hit on her forearm but his attack had been blocked somehow by green lightning-like flames. She had also taken that opportunity to take a swing at his side and she hit hard.

"That was a clever move," he stated as he winced a little. "What was that you used at the end?"

"You've heard of dying will flames, right? Well I can imbue certain body parts of mine with them to use their characteristics." Rosetta replied. "I used the hardness characteristic of lightning flames to shield my arm in this instance but your blow still left me shaking. It's no surprise you're the strongest of the Vongola."

"Don't group me in with them," Hibari interrupted stiffly.

"But you kept your Gear…"

"I hate crowds." He then glared at someone behind Rosetta, causing one of them to exclaim with surprise and fear before walking away.

The Mezzanotte boss however was more preoccupied with the one who was behind her and saw…

"Tsuna-kun?! Gokudera and Yamamoto too? What are you all doing out of class?"

The brunette teen flinched and blushed before hesitantly answering with, "Ah, um…we were worried since you said you wanted to meet Hibari-san and he can be…difficult."

"I only came here to protect the boss…" Gokudera muttered under his breath.

"Aww, thanks for being so considerate, Tsuna-kun but I had everything under control." The Mezzanotte boss gushed a little in response. "Besides, I had my right hand Antonio on standby just in case."

"Oh…ok," the Vongola boss in training agreed, still looking a little concerned. "Still I have to ask, is your arm okay?"

Rosetta assured him that it was before checking her watch. "Oh, looks like it's time for me to meet up with the principal again." She stated. "But before I leave I would like to give you this." - she then handed the boys a small simple invitation - "As an expression of goodwill between our families, I would like to invite you to my place for dinner this weekend. Oh and don't worry about Hibari and Ryohei. I already sneaked each of them an invitation too."

With that she left the teens on the roof but not before advising them not to be late back to class. Tsuna gazed at the invitation for a moment, then looked to his friends for a little guidance.

Yamamoto looked like his usual happy self but Gokudera on the other hand was looking a little uneasy.

The brunette teen asked him what was wrong and he answered with no hesitance. "I still don't trust that woman. I feel like she's hiding something from us…" he said bluntly, standing firm in his beliefs but couldn't help noticing his boss' slightly disappointed expression as he gazed at his invitation. "But…if you do want to go I guess I'll have no choice but to go as well, just to keep you safe…"

When hearing his answer the Vongola boss in training smiled and thanked his right hand, then ultimately decided he would think about it. He was still a bit apprehensive about her after all…

"So then you haven't quite decided on whether or not you want to attend Rosetta's dinner of goodwill?" Reborn asked on his and Tsuna's walk back home. His student answered with a tentative yes so the tutor continued. "I would advise that you go. Your families are allied so it would be optimal for you to create good relations."

"I know, and I've considered the opinions of Rosetta-san from both sides as well as my own intuition but there's something about her I'm still not sure of and that's why I've remained undecided." Tsuna explained before remembering something from that morning. "By the way, durning breakfast Dino-san wasn't clumsy when his men weren't around and Rosetta isn't a Cavallone, so how did that work?"

'That's what he picked up on and decided to bring up?' The hitman tutor thought disapprovingly. 'I need to reteach him some lessons it seems…'

"Yes, Rosetta isn't a Cavallone, but she and Dino have known each other since they were very young." He replied aloud. "You could say that Dino had unconsciously imprinted on Rosetta during their first meeting which in turn caused him to consider her family regardless of whether she is Cavallone or not."

'So Dino-san's words did hold some weight…' the Vongola boss in training concluded in thought
