A/N: It has been brought to my attention that the power of friendship is bullshit, and to that I say: This isn't that type of story. Enjoy the early chapter...yay. Edit 2021-11-08: Minor typos and missing text.
It's pointless... Don't you know? Because that's the way death works. Wandering the world of the living unnoticed as a spirit, that isn't a continuation of life. When you die, that's it... There's nothing more... Nothing new begins. No matter how much you regret or wish, if you couldn't do something in life, you can't suddenly do it when you die. That's just how it works, no way to defy it, try and you end up like this. We no longer have future to fight for.
"Living in those visions of him again, Leviathan." the leader of the angel faction Gabriel said to a blonde woman looking to be in her mid-twenties with pale blue eyes a magic circle in each.
Leviathan turned her attention to the angel before speaking. "He will be born into this world soon. I know I should be using these eyes father left for us for my duties. I just..." She looked down at her feet. "I just miss him brother. These memories of him with that other version of myself and the visions of the future... It's all just too much." She said, bringing her hands to her chest.
Gabriel looked at her with pity, he understood what the All Seeing Eyes of God could do to the unprepared as their former user. Especially for her, spending thousands of years waiting for a person that she has never met herself. What was he thinking giving such a sacred gear to her, she was already a confused soul as is, but adding it's abilities to it who would blame her. The thought of him waiting until she was ready came to him. After a short pause he put a hand on her shoulder. "I apologize Leviathan. If I had another option I would take it, but this world needs you both. But if you need time o-"
Slapping away the hand mid-speech she looked her 'brother' in the eye, hers turning their natural green. "I appreciate the thought, but that's all I have been hearing since father defeated me. Apologize all you want but if you think me fragile you got another thing coming. I agreed to this, I know what I signed up for." She said gritted teeth. "It would be better for me to know than mourn a life that I never had." She paused to make sure she still had his attention. "And do not call me by that name Gabriel. Leviathan, as far as the world knows, is gone. Call me what my subordinates call me, and that's Levy brother." She punctuated with a stern look.
He gave her a wry smile and nodded, chuckling as he motioned for her to follow. "I have missed that fire you have, though... The Asia Argento side of you calming it might be a blessing in disguise. Don't you think...Levy-tan."
Levy following behind him crossed her arms below her chest and rolled her eyes before smirking. "Are you sure you should be mocking someone stronger than you, remember I almost killed father, brother." She said, pointing at him. "I am still my own person as she is hers. You may be my superior and have my love and respect, but it does not mean I will put up with your disrespect towards the both of us. Unless you want to train together again." She ended the statement with a giggle.
"I wouldn't be as foolish as to mock you dear sister. Now come we have a meeting with Lady Freyja and Lord Odin." He responded as an excited Levy came to his side.
"Does that mean that idiot is finally ready to let go of Mjölnir!"
"Yes, as well as the claymore the dwarves made from God's will. But I do hope you show him some respect. He is still a God."
She sighed, rubbing the back of her neck. She then smiled at Gabriel. "You don't have to worry I will." Levy reassured him.

[Issei, two fallen right behind you]
Issei caused his bike to skid, pressing both brakes at the same time. He hopped off staring at the direction of the approaching angels, taking note of the blonde Lolita from earlier in the night. The seemingly unknown fallen angel was the first to speak. "How strange, I don't seem to have the wrong person, I have been ordered to erase all traces. How utterly strange." The tall busty woman in a tight suit jacket and torn mini-skirt said.
Issei for his part just smiled.
Issei had his eyes set on the fallen angels, his smile now a scowl. "Why are you still alive?" The one who started talking asked. Issei just shrugged. On the other hand the Lolita beside her had a terrified expression when a symbol ignited on the back of his left hand. The speaker had a more level headed reaction but still was shocked. "The seal of the house of Gremory!?, I see. You're the one Donnasiege mistook as a stray."
After she said that, Issei faintly heard a cackle in the back of his head, and decided to ignore it for now. Doing the same to the chatting woman in front of him he turned to the shorter Lolita. "I hope for whatever happens next you don't interfere." She rapidly nodded only for a light spear aimed at his head disappeared inches before connecting. Pale blue eyes glowed in the dark making the Lolita's fear increase. A sadistic grin crossed Issei's face reminded her of a horned Raynare she saw a few hours ago. "Well that's rude."
Before either Fallen angel could react Issei had appeared behind the one in the suit jacket cutting one of her arms off. She dropped to her knees screaming in pain, her now detached right arm now lying in a growing puddle of blood next to her. Issei then took the katana to her throat, grabbing a handful of her hair roughly tilting her head upwards to face him. "Now this is the part I say if you want to live through this you would do as I say, but..." He looked at her companion, "she knows what is waiting for you. Good thing for you she won't see any of it."
Both the injured fallen angel and Issei disappeared into thin air. The one remaining clutched at the pendant around her neck that Raynare gave her nearly in tears. Images of what that same person had done to one of their colleagues. As soon as they left Issei returned, dragging the lifeless body behind him. Dropping the body at her feet he dug into his pocket taking out a small envelope handing it to her. "I'm sorry, I didn't get your name." He gave her a somehow calming smile.
"I-I-It's Mittelt, Issei-sama."
Issei tilted his head at the honorific but brushed it aside and continued. "Well Mittelt, that's for Raynare... If she doesn't get it by the end of week I know who to blame, and I will have to come for you too. Understood." Issei said dismissively pointing at the corpse in-between them.
[Was that necessary, she already thinks you tortured the other one to death.]
'Don't worry Ddraig. It's just insurance, I don't know what Raynare told her about me, but at least until we know we can trust her.' He again showed her a gentle smile. 'I need to make sure that she doesn't do something stupid.' Completing his thought he spoke. "You should get going Mittelt, before anyone from the Gremory family shows up."
"Yes of course. But what about Kalawarna?" Mittelt brought his attention to the woman's body on the ground.
"Oh that's a good question." he said as the area's temperature turned cold. "Can you help me by moving my bike to that wall?" Coming out as a request she was taken aback for a moment but complied. Issei took off the blazer revealing a red t-shirt with a black design of a U and A where the breast pocket would be. Taking it off Issei wrapped it around an arm, he then lifted Kalawarna putting her on his back. Feeling blood sip into the fabric he maneuvered himself across the street to where Mittelt was standing with his bike leaning on the wall acting like a barrier fencing in the house behind it. Once he placed Kalawarna on the ground he dropped down next to her leaning on the wall he then turned to Mittelt. "You should probably leave now."
[You are running out of time, partner.]
'I know. I know.'
"Until next time, Issei-sama."
Issei then watched as she stretched her wings to their full length before taking off. Once he could no longer sense her he breathed a sigh of relief, as a ton of exhaustion hit him all at once his now green eyes became heavy. Right at that moment he saw a magic circle open up in-front of him, and the last thing he saw clearly was Rias, Yuuto, and Akeno rush towards him.
"Hey Pres. I fought really hard." Issei said while coughing up blood,

"This has become quite the headache. The fallen angels now know you are still alive, and that you are now a devil."
"I'm sorry."
"In the state we found you in. Your encounter might well have been a fluke. You may have defeated her but understand this, don't get too cocky and try to take them on by yourself."
"Yes understood. Alright... I'll be off, then."
"Perhaps you've been too harsh."
"No matter what he knows and how powerful he is, he's still a novice. Besides the fact I think you may become too sweet on him and may cause problems in the future, one of us will have to keep him out of trouble."
"I don't know what you are talking about."
"Of course, Can you find Sona for me? And ask if she can pay us a visit, if she is still here."
"Sure thing!"
"...I won't let the Fallen angels take my adorable servant away..."

"Onii-chan, wake up. It's morning! I'll tickle you if don-" A hand came down on the snooze button of Issei's alarm.
'Issei-nii come play!'
'Why did that one have to come up now? That dream felt so real.'
Issei moved his hand grabbing a ring on a worn string hanging on the headboard, putting it on tucking it under his shirt. "I see why Reiko-san hates that thing."
Issei jumped at the feminine voice now sitting on his bed. He saw Raynare in her disguised form, she was still in the Kyusei school uniform. "Dammit Ra-Yuuma! You almost gave me a heart attack. What are you doing here?"
Raynare tilted her head with a finger on her chin acting genuinely confused. " I'm your girlfriend Issei, I just wanted to check in on you. We haven't talked since our date." She said in a playful voice.
Issei had a straight face clearly not amused. "No seriously, why are you here?"
Raynare deciding not to tempt fate began. "I got your message, and it looks like we had the same idea." She said, getting up from his desk she opened a bag at her side and fished out a neatly wrapped box tossing it to him. "I got you something as thank you for such a wonderful date, lucky you." she said with a mischievous grin.
Unwrapping the present he found a brand new smart phone. Issei examined it for several seconds looking at her raising a brow. " A new phone?"
"Yep, I went through so much trouble getting it. It was such a pain honestly." Her eyes were distant when she said the last sentence, but her mood seemingly picked up when she produced an identical cell phone but hers had a black case with a eastern-style red dragon while Issei's had a black halo and six wings emitting from it. "When I 'explained' your new one was to apologize for breaking your old one they just had to offer the couples deal." Raynare paused when she realized he hadn't turned it on. "What are you waiting for. I haven't done anything to it... Except for my little surprise." That last part was said under her breath.
Sighing Issei turned the phone on nearly dropped the phone hearing a snicker in his head, a rosy tint was clear on his face. The lock screen was Raynare in nothing but a black pair of lace panties and an undone bra lying on a bed of red sheets, he also noticed the two front facing white horns on either side of her head creating an artificial crown and she had six black wings sprawled out underneath her. Unlocking the phone wasn't any better. The home screen was a wallpaper of Raynare and Mittelt in matching bikinis.
Raynare took this moment to find her way to Issei's lap, making herself comfortable as she wrapped her arms around his neck, she gently tapped her finger to his nose. Raynare giggled at his expression, taking a selfie while kissing him on the cheek. "You're welcome." She said getting up once satisfied. "I should go tell Reiko-san you're up before she gets too worried." Raynare finished leaving the room.
[The previous Emperors were always surrounded by women...but you, I don't know whether you have an unhealthy amount of luck or not.]
'Shut it Ddraig' Finally recovering Issei got ready for school putting the new phone in his pocket.

Issei was taking a shortcut through the local park when he bumped into someone running the opposite direction. This person was a young blonde girl around his age. She squealed when she hit the ground, when Issei went to apologize and help her up he froze in his tracks. The girl was lying on her stomach and her dress pulled up revealing her white underwear while trying to get up.
[I think I have an answer to that inquiry from earlier.]
'...'
"Why did I trip?" the girl said in a meek voice sitting up before noticing Issei. When their eyes met Issei had a look of recognition but quickly buried it, taking one of concern.
"Are you ok?" Issei ran up to her offering a hand. Looking at her she was wearing the black and white Tonic and Scapular of a nun that he remembered her often wearing but in a different color.
Taking his hand she thanked him, fixing her veil. "Thank you very much."
"Oh, you're welcome." Issei chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. 'I've got to keep this conversation going. To think I would run into her just like that.' He thought to himself. "Uh... The weather is really nice today and..."
[Smooth.]
"Um I... I got lost and need help." The nun said in embarrassment, getting Issei's attention from his unseen internal struggle.
"Yeah... Yeah sure." Issei responded.
The two start walking when Issei decides to strike up a conversation. "So are you on a trip?" He asked the nun.
"Oh, no. I was appointed to a nearby church. I am glad I met such a nice person like you. It must be divine guidance. " She answered. Issei let out a nervous laugh but didn't say anything and looked away, the act confusing her. "What's the matter?" The nun asked with a hint of concern.
"Well, nothing."
A crying child could be heard in the distance and the nun took off towards the sound with Issei running after her. They came to a small playground where a small boy was seated on the ground with a scraped knee and crying. "Don't cry; it's just a scrape. You are a boy after all." she began petting his hair. A green light glowed from her hands when she brought them to the boy's injury. Unbeknownst to both teens their eyes turned blue for a brief second.
[She is the same as she always was, are you sure about this.]
"Look! Your wound is gone." She said comforting the boy. "It's all right now." A smile clear on her face. Noticing Issei staring, she addressed him. "Sorry, force of habit." she said, sticking her tongue out.
"I must have surprised you."
"Oh, you have a pretty amazing power."
"It's a wonderful power granted by god." For some reason Issei's stomach churned when she said that. "A truly wonderful power." Her face took a dark look to it. They continued their walk in silence for several minutes before the nun noticed the church at the top of the hill they were climbing. "Oh, that must be the place." She turned to Issei him, her mood returning.
"Oh, yeah, it's the only church we have in town."
"Great! Thank you so much!" She exclaimed. Cupping Issei's hands she looked up at him expectantly. "I would like to return the favor. Do you mind accompanying me."
"I'm sorry, but I have to get to school early so I can't." Issei said in a panicked voice.
The nun looked visibly upset which caused Issei pain but she quickly recovered. "I see. Well, my name is Asia Argento. Please call me Asia."
"My name is Hyoudou Issei, you can call me Issei."
"I'm so happy to have met someone as kind as you this quickly after arriving in japan!" Her smile returned. "Please visit the church when you find the time. Promise me!"
Issei returned the smile and answered. "When I do I will be sure too. I promise."
Asia waved him off before grabbing her belongings, turning around and heading towards the church with an ear-to-ear grin. "He is just as I remember, I am glad I finally got to meet him, Asia"
