Chapter 10

"We've all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act upon. That is who we really are." -Sirius Black

"What?" Sam asked, shocked. "Missouri, the same one that helped us cleanse our old home?"

"Yes, my dear," She replied, and waved a wand, and at that, a replica of her sitting room from her house in Lawrence, Kansas appeared in the back room of the wand shop. "I am a witch, and a wandmaker, so who am I making a wand for today?"

"May you make one for Sam, and take any enchantments off mine?" Jamie asked, as he presented his wand to her. She took his wand gently.

"Oh, Jamie, my dear, I will need to make you a new wand, this one will forever have your allegiance, but in order to face the troubles ahead, you will need a more powerful wand, and this one will be a spare, and I will give you two wand holsters. This one, for when you want to appear as Harry Potter, and the one I will make for you, the one of James Oliver Winchester," She told Jamie, as she took his wand, and motioned for them to follow her.

"Sam, for you, I think Arcadia wood, with a Unicorn hair for the core. This wand will not respond to anyone else, and the Unicorn hair will remain loyal to you. It shows your unending loyalty to your family," She stated, as she passed Sam the wood and a hair.

"Why are they warm?" Sam asked, as he held them.

"That means that they are correct, right?" Jamie asked, as he studied the way his older brother handled the raw materials.

"Yes, honey, they are correct," She replied, taking back the materials, and started to craft the wand. At the end of the process, the wand was fourteen and a quarter inches.

"Does the length have any meaning?" Sam asked, as he held up his wand, and was shocked to see a gold stream of sparks come out of the end.

"It is a direct correlation to the height of the first user," Missouri told Sam, as she led Jamie along a wall of wand woods. "Alright, Jamie, I need you to feel along the wall, and see which wood feels right, my dear."

Jamie closed his eyes, and moved his hands along the woods, only for two to feel right. He opened his eyes, to see his hands in between the Ebony wood, and the Elder wood.

"Ah, two different woods, which matches that you have two different personas. You are a non-conformist, comfortable in your own skin, and you will never be swayed from your purpose, but also, you are going to be feared," She told Jamie, as she led him towards the cores. "Now, I have a few more cores than Olivander, I have Thunderbird feathers, phoenix feathers, unicorn hair, dragonheart string, and I also have teastral hair."

Jamie ran his hands over the cores, and was drawn again to phoenix feather. Missouri smiled, and started the process of making Jamie's wand. She started to wave her wand, and the woods started to melt together, and they stopped when there was a beautiful swirl going down the wand, and the feather inserted itself into the wood. There was black from the ebony and a yellowish white from the elder. It was a beautiful wand that was very striking. She handed the wand to Jamie, who was amazed by how good it felt in his hand. It was twelve inches, which was an inch longer than his holly wand.

"Thank you so much, how much do Sam and I owe you?" Jamie asked, as he pulled out his Gringotts card.

"Nothing, dear, and Winchester that walks through this door, gets their wands and holsters, for free," She stated, and handed Jamie 2 holsters, and Sam one. She also handed Dean a knife, and a knife holster. "This, Dean, is a Goblin made dagger that can kill Demons, you will need it in order to protect your siblings." Dean smiled, and hugged Missouri. Sam also hugged Missouri, but Jamie just shook her hand, and she clasped both of her hands around his one.

"Jamie, darling, you are going to have to tell your brothers about everything that both of those monsters did to you, and also, make sure to pay attention to what is being said on the news. Soon a few figures from your childhood with the Potters are going to reappear, and when that happens, it is time for your family to come out of the shadows, and seek their revenge," She stated, letting one of her hands fall, only for it to cup Jamie's cheek. Jamie just nodded, and the Winchesters left her shop, and started to make their way back to Dean's black Chevy Impala.

"Well, I prefer her to Ollivander, where I got my first wand," Jamie stated, breaking the ice.

"Are all wandmakers psychic?" Sam asked, as he climbed into the passenger seat of the Impala.

"Most of them can read auras, that is how they can tell what type of wand to pair with each witch or wizard, but Missouri is definitely psychic," Jamie replied, looking out the window as Dean backed the car up, and started making the way back to Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Dean started some music, Led Zeppelin, softer than he normally would, and Jamie just continued to stare out the window while Sam read his magical books. As they got closer to Bobby's house, Jamie got more and more fidgety. Sam was concerned, but Dean was not, he knew that Jamie was trying to buck up the nerves to tell them about his childhood, and what had happened the first year he was at the magic school that he was going to. One thing that concerned Dean was the comment the Missouri had made, about figures from Jamie's time with the Potters were going to emerge, and when they did, the Winchesters needed to come out of the shadows. Missouri had given them what mom hadn't, a timeline that this all was going to go down in. Jamie just needed to remember the figures from his past.

"Hey, Dean, did you know that the magical world hires hunters that hunt some of the rogue magical creatures?" Sam asked, still not looking up from his book. It was titled, The History of American Magic written by Harriot Stanton Blatch.

"Really, think that I could get hired, since I am just a squib, and you are a wizard?" Dean asked, as his eyes never left the road, or his mirrors.

"I definitely think that you could, and apparently, hunters have extremely high clearance, it is run through an agency of DCRMC, though this does not mention what it stands for," Sam stated.

"It stands for the Department for the Control and Regulation of Magical Creatures," Jamie stated loudly, still looking out the window.

"Thank you Jamie," Sam stated and Jamie glanced at his brother and nodded.

After four more hours, Dean pulled into Bobby's driveway, and they all got out and went inside to tell their news to John and Bobby. Both of the older adults were sitting in the study, talking and drinking beers.

"Dad, Bobby, is now a good time to fill y'all in?" Dean asked, as he grabbed a beer for himself, one for Sam, and a coke for Jamie.

"Yeah, come have a seat boys," John told his sons, and Sam passed Dean, and was handed a beer, when Jamie filed passed Dean, he was handed the coke, and they all sat down, Jamie pressed in between Dean and Sam.

"So, Sam is a Wizard, and he is officially Lord Campbell, because apparently, Mom was a witch, and her uncle was a wizard. I am a Squib, which means a non-magical, born into a magical family. According to Missouri, who is a witch, and a wandmaker, when figures from Jamie's past with the Potters, we need to come out of the shadows. Also the magical world hires hunters to take care of rogue magical creatures," Dean debriefed his father and Bobby.

"Well, that is a lot to unpack," John replied. Jamie sat up, and took a deep breath.

"I am ready to talk to you guys about my childhood," Jamie stated, and all the other adults in the room leaned in, ready to take in the crucible that Jamie was about to explain to them.
