Aki strode through the portal into the Duel Spirit world braced for the unholy hell of a battle given what she saw getting there. The destroyed park, the baffled Security officers, Black Rose Dragon petals shuddering with unapologetic outrage. Whatever had happened had been enough to allow her the chance to slip through the portal. As the Security officers were too busy investigating the dirt around them and speaking to what few people had stayed behind.

Now she was faced with a vibrant blue sky, the sea of grass and... Just Yusei and Ancient Fairy Dragon, her witch and Regulus...

"Rainbow Dragon made it sound like there were several others, and Black Rose 'clearly' was talking about a fight." Aki finally noted as she walked over, Yusei was sitting by Ancient Fairy, who on her own didn't seem very pleased. Aki didn't know the dragon well, but there was this quality to the color of the dragon's scales that made her think the dragon was in a mood. It was also strange to see Yusei just sitting there, nothing around them, and he was fairly trapped here unless Aki brought him back. If anything she expected his frustration and annoyance yet there he was... Then she noticed Black Garden and realized he really wasn't sitting of his own volition.

"About your spirits," Yusei answered, lifting his hands to show that the vines were wrapped semi loosely around his leather gloved wrists.

"About you not supposed to be here," She countered as the Garden began to release Yusei.

"I hate saying this, but Yusei's not in the wrong here. There's another Priest like you that is becoming active. But he's 'really' undertrained and he's been kidnapped with Judai." Witch pointed out as she drifted down behind Aki.

Aki stood there startled as she listened to her witch and looked around in alarm. "Kidnapped? We need to find them!"

"Yes, but I fear it is more than merely them. This Yubel Spirit that Yusei spoke of, their attack on the near by village has reduced the population to zero. There are no survivors from what I've been told. It was that spirit that stole away the two children who came here to render aid. However; the one that Yusei was directly battling seems to have set his sights on Yusei." Ancient Fairy explained as she lowered her head to converse more privately with the two teens.

Black Rose Dragon and Stardust materialized behind Aki, several of Black Roses' vines in Stardusts front paw. Stardust examined the area before realizing that maybe, just maybe, he should have just let Black Rose go whip happy.

"Just keep talking, fill me in after you've finished," he offered as he settled down.

Black Rose doing much the same as she settled cat like on the ground beside him, though she was casting her gaze around in complete distrust.

"Well you were at that duel, have you ever seen that black clad spirit before?" Ancient Fairy inquired in a tone that made him realize the lack of combat 'wasn't' due to a successful victory. It was tired, with a hint of heartache, and a heaping pile of worry.

"No, though I'll admit I kind of sensed him around the school from time to time. But ever sense that protective shield went up he's not gotten closer."

"So an attack out in the open makes a bit more sense." Ancient Fairy began before she shook her head. "No. Yusei doesn't go to school... Regardless, we can't let Yusei return to the Duel Spirit world. There's just too much going on with now a newly awakened priest being kidnapped by that dangerous spirit."

"It can't be that bad," Stardust began as he looked down at Yusei who nodded slightly in agreement.

"I don't know what that guy, spirit, wants with me. But I'm not one to hide from a fight," Yusei pointed out as he looked up at the fairy over his head.

"Were it between you and another duelist with that one spirit being not the focus I wouldn't object. Its, however; peculiar for a spirit to act so aggressively on their own against a human. No one is partnered to him yet he lashes out in such a manner is distressing. As the head of the Crimson Dragon, and with connections with the other dragons its vital that you not be removed from your position." Ancient Fairy pointed out firmly before shaking her head. "I realize we have a situation here in the Duel Spirit world, and while I do not object to help... that young man was untrained and now been captured. I will not allow anyone else to be a victim of their machinations."

"You would stop even Little Ruka from coming here?" Yusei inquired unamused and serious as he finally managed to get up. Black Garden had begun to slither away from his legs and down his ankles. But they were loose enough so he could stand up. His spirits were starting to fade into view as Aki joined him to look up at Ancient Fairy.

"How is the village? Did the healing spirits..." Aki began but her voice faded away as she saw the way Ancient Fairy's blue darkened. The scales grew darker but there was no pop of energy, so the only option was sadness...

"They used a field card spell that blocked anyone from getting in, I was able to destroy it. Only it served as a sign that the young priest is still too new. For while he could summon Rainbow Dragon, he couldn't power it up to use any of their natural abilities." She admitted as she extended her own powers and tried to sense the young priest. But she couldn't sense anything even on the edges of her senses, of him or his spirits.

Sending the other spirits out to look for the child was also risky given how ruthlessly the village had been destroyed.

"Even now they search, but there is no real hope. They were unprepared for an attack, and that the attack started by sealing them all inside a field. That Yubel was strong enough to take them out in groups no less..." Regulus shook his head until his mane swayed with the speed of a mournful weeping willow.

"Well Judai was able to tell me a bit about Yubel, his spirit. They were always aggressive and he apparently sent the spirit to space as a form of 'therapy'. Fairy? What do you know about the Dark Magician? Judai said that the magician was showing awareness as far back as when Yugi was in Battle City Finals."

"The Dark Magician? The one who attends God? He was a human who came to serve under God before he created our world. His loyalty to God is absolute..." Fairy explained, as her head tilted to the side a bit in question. Curiosity causing her to lower her head towards Yusei.

"Well he saw recordings of the Magician and, being a kid, thought that he if he sent Yubel to space. They would meet Yugi and Yugi could fix them of their tendency." Yusei explained as Aki gave him a look.

"What is in outer space that would 'fix' the personality of a duel spirit?" She asked earning a faint shrug from Yusei.

"He only understood that Yugi was 'out there'," Yusei pointed vaguely up at the sky. "He didn't process the term meant Yugi was 'dead'."

Aki blinked, and thought back to when she was a child... it was a reasonable mistake to make...

"Realistically nothing to my knowledge, but my knowledge is only of this world." Stardust admitted before looking up at the sky. "When the threat of a demon became too much for this world. It was people, like Dr. Fudo who prayed to God, thus he was compelled to take action, his General protected not just this solar system. But all of creation! Why save all those suns that make up our stars if they were warming lifeless rocks?"

The humans and spirits looked among each other before looking up at the sky as well. From horizon to horizon it was nothing but this vibrant uplifting blue and not a flicker of the distant stars overhead. They pretty much had to imagine the night sky and all that it encompassed. Then layer it with the idea that there was something out there and it wasn't nice.

"So how do you plan to find Judai and that other guy?" Yusei asked, crossing his arms as he lowered his gaze back to the Fairy.

"Let the humans deal with it." Rose answered startling them. "God told us that he wanted us not to get involved. But he said nothing of THEM. Priests all go through a trial by fire to earn the title. Be it 'Priest', 'Wise Person', or 'Shaman' or anything else. They need to prove themselves worthy or the world will see them dead." She pointed out, her tone staying oddly calm without its normal irrational inflections.

'More priests starting to awaken and Yusei has called God down directly to the world... His influence must be starting to affect Rose.' Ancient Fairy mused as she observed Rose. The dragon was almost sullen in her appearance, head low close to Yusei.

"So leave the guys at the hospital with Judai?" Yusei asked, before shaking his head. "I understand what you're saying Rose, but he's not ready to be responsible for anyone. He doesn't even have himself together at the moment."

"Trial by fire," Aki repeated as she looked up at Rose. "Did we go through something like that?"

Rose turned slightly to look at Aki. While that knowledge that once upon a time they were one and the same hung in the back of Aki's thoughts. In the same way that Yusei and Stardust were once one person. Yet Stardust was laid back and observant, and Yusei was serious and observant. Ancient Fairy was as kind as Ruka and protective.

"Its getting kinda late in the human world, won't your parents get upset with you, Aki?" Witch asked as she moved over to hover by Aki's side.

"Well there isn't anything that can be done now, the battles are over..." Regulus conceded. "And we should return to the ruling seat to see what can be done to find the two lost priests."

"And the kids have school," Yusei added, his tone hinting and annoyance. Something was up, he could feel it in the way Ancient Fairy was fairly diplomatically trying to shove him out the door. But as to 'why'?

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Before Aki arrived... \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

Ancient Fairy began coiling behind Yusei, she wasn't Stardust, but her glow was just as irritating as the sun itself.

"You should take more pride as a duelist," Trueman pointed out. "What good is it being the 'Turbo Duel King' or the head of the Crimson dragon if you're not willing to follow the rules of the duel?"

"Says the guy who made a copy of himself look like Aki," Yusei pointed out as he tried to keep as many of the copies in front.

"Well there 'were' two of you," Trueman pointed out as he looked up at Ancient Fairy. "I suppose you were in the neighborhood given what Yubel and Nightshroud were up to."

"'Up to'?" Fairy repeated in surprise. "Who are they? What could possess them to go into a village and just kill everyone in sight?" She demanded imperiously.

"We both know the boy is meant to be the 'Gentle Darkness' so its only logical that Yubel must balance him by being aggressive." Trueman pointed out as his shadows began to melt into large viper type of spirits.

"What type of title is 'Gentle Darkness'?" Yusei asked. "I understand the Crimson dragon, but that sounds like a title a kid gives themselves to sound cool."

'Well I can explain once he's gone,' Fairy thought to herself. This wasn't an ideal situation to start with, Yusei couldn't partner with her the way his own dragon did by nature. Or even the way Aki's deck just inserted themselves due to Aki and Yusei's relationship. But she could generate light along with the sun, absorb its light and generate a rainbow of colors if she wanted.

Witch was also by her side, hovering and trying to drive away what she could.

"Gentle Darkness is the title to one who is meant to wield the powers of darkness out of," Trueman began explaining before he began to snigger.

"Kindness," Fairy finished smoothly. "The Gentle Darkness is meant to be that person who stands in darkness to comfort those who encounter the darkness for the first time. Unable to see what threats may lie there, people often have a fear of the unknown that the darkness represents. So the Gentle Darkness is there to guide and show compassion and warmth to these souls."

Truemans' suppressed laughter began to grow such that he couldn't hold it back. "And here the Gentle Darkness is, a self absorbed brat who turned his most loyal spirit into the most loving and devoted spirit!"

"I mean look at what Aki's life turned Black Rose into, but that's neither here or there..." Witch pointed out in frustration.

'Yes, but Aki 'is' Black Rose Dragon, little one,' Fairy thought to herself. 'The Gentle Darkness is protected by another spirit outside of themselves... And if the young man did something to make Yubel become this way...'

If Trueman wasn't there observing them, she would have shuddered at the thought. But at that moment the only thing that mattered was showing a unified front until Aki arrived. With the sun out and Ancient Fairy there, the place was a bit over saturated with light, and perhaps that was the reason why Trueman wasn't doing anything proactively.

"You should go..."

The breeze lifted that aged whisper and brought it to Fairy's earfins earning Fairy's alarm. The wind had no reason to carry such a whisper from Yusei or Witch. While behind Trueman she felt a small fissure tear into the reality of the world.

"She's coming and if she does you don't stand a chance."

"So you're saying 'hurry up and kill Yusei'?" Truemans' voice was a vipers whisper, shrunk down to something small. Probably a shadow manifesting a physical appearance to talk and talk 'discreetly'.

"... If you would be so kind."

Fairy began fluttering her wings more quickly, and pulled on the cords of power that was her connection to her servants in the royal court. Regulus appeared first, already the horn on his brow lit in a protective shield as he placed himself before the trio.

Trueman growled in displeasure as he moved back a step. The fissure snapping shut in response, "now why would you call out the troops unannounced? We were merely chatting," he growled in annoyance as he tried to block the rays of light. Blinding accursed light, he finally was forced to retreat. 'My own shadows wouldn't manifest far from me and I can't reach through their shadows with all this sanctified light.'

Even more offensive was seeing that garden starting to rise up and bind Yusei. If by some miracle he 'could' reach Yusei's shadow, the garden was bound to keep him in place!

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

The children left, finally.

Allowing Ancient Fairy to give a much desired sigh of relief as she coiled down to the ground a sky blue garden snake with butterfly wings. It 'was' the image that fascinated her when she was human, before they were split and Little Ruka became her partner and not 'her'.

"Majesty?" Regulus' head tilted to the side in concern at the distress he saw in their ruler, he got up and and looked about before laying down so his nose was almost to Fairy's nose. "Does something bother you?"

"That spirit is targeting Yusei. He wants to kill Yusei, possibly to take control of the Crimson Dragon some how. A fissure opened behind him, and I heard a voice speak where killing Yusei came up."

'But that voice...'
