Sorry, again, for missing last week. My hope was only to miss ONE week a month. But last week... work had me in the ringer.

Chapter 70
Uncovering The Culprit!
We return to the protected guests of the wedding, they all were corralled in a more protective location as they soon heard and felt the KABOOM! from the bombs.
"Wow! They did it!" Tara cheered gently
"Oh, thank god!" Some of the guests cheered in relief, some hugging each other, while others broke down crying.
"Thank The Titans." Duela commented.
...
"Aren't some of you gods?" Donna joked
"That is true." Roy responded and hugged his girlfriend.
Lian was silent, looking up at the flames...
*At the fight*
Jade's face was stunned, horrified of what James just said. She was silent... her heart was shattered. "What... Was that... You said?" she asked in horror, shaking lightly
"Lian! Lian was there... At the wedding." James explained quickly, panting a bit. He was so happy she was as listening to him, finally
"Li... Lian? My dau-?"
BOOM!
CRASH!
"She was there?" Jade asked in shock and horror while the battle raged on behind them.
"Yes." He answered. "She came with us. But don't worry. I saved her."
Jade's legs buckled and dropped her sai as she heard that. "I... I didn't-I didn't know." She was openly crying, shaking "Why-Why was she here?" She muttered "Why? Why? She... I did this to heep her safe. He said... Her kill her..."
"Who? Who said he'd kill her?" James knelt down to hear her.
As Jade opened her mouth to tell James, the sounds of battle between the assassins grew louder.
CRASH!
"Damnable brat! You are lesser before my intellect!" Bane roared and rushed at Danny.
"I've been told I've got personality problems. Sue me." He quipped as he saw his opening, and broke several tubes on Bane's body with his powers
SNAP!
SNAP-SNAP!
"ARGH! Gah! My Vwenammmmmm!" He screamed as he felt his enhanced strength leaving him and his speech slurring as he fell unconscious despite him fighting it.
"I always knew drugs were bad for you." Static quipped.
"Good one!" Danny gave a thumbs up before he channeled his powers "How about we give this guy a super power electro punch?"
Feeling his board shake, Static knelt down and gripped it tightly "Got it!" He smirked, as his fist clenched and static surrounded it "Fire away!"
"Alley-oop!" Danny called out as he launched Bane.
Static was thrown at Bane, giving a mighty punch
KRA-KOOOM!
ZZZZAP!
Bane jerked and jutted around as he was launched into the air and away from the fight, flying over the hill.
"Aaaaand~ he's~ outta here!" Static cheered
"Can you guys help out here, please? Metallo's giving me problems!" Cir-El asked, feeling weakened by the Kryptonite he was exhuding.
"On our way, lovely lady!" Danny flirted
"Dude, come on." Static rolled his eyes as he grabbed Danny and flew off with him to help Cir-El.
The black haired Kryptonian girl was pushing against the metal man's fists, doing her best
"Heh-heh-heh. What's the matter? Can't handle a little radiation?" Metallo laughed darkly.
"S-Screw you!" Cir snapped, feeling weaker by his presence as she was happy she was half human. The effects where lessoned. Not neutralised, but it was easier.
Metallo laughed mockingly as his body powered up "Maybe I'll treat you as a pet. Give you some-ARGH!"
"That is no way to treat a lady!" Static called out as he zapped Metallo. making the half robot's body lock up
"Hold on, Cir!" Danny called out as he began to use his powers to close MEtallo up further in hopes of blocking off the Kryptonite radiation
CLANG!

"Oof! Sorry, guys!" Hawk apologised.
"Ow..." Dove mumbled
"... Swap you!" Cir asked.
"Nah... We've got this." Hawk grunted.
"Let's do it Holly, we are at a disadvantage against a cat after all." Dove joked
"Good to know where you two stand." Cheetah responded. "Maybe when you're all done, Cheshire and I can try out that BoyToy of yours. See if he prefers cats to birds."
SNAP!
"Fuck you, bitch!" Holly snapped as both Dawn and her got to their feet.
"Let's go girls!" Cir-El agreed as her eyes glowed bright red
"Oh shit." Cheetah gulped in worry. Hawk and Dove she could handle...but throw in a Kryptonian?
SLAM!
Three powerful fists hit her face, sending her flying high
The kitty cat went flying off into the sky and hopefully this was enough to knock her off her feet before she fell.
"... Dude. Your sisters are scary." Static said to Owl
"Yeah... and I love them." Owl chuckled, proud of the pair.
"You... Little..." the robot man beside him snarled
"Oh, shut up." Owl snapped as he span around and punched Metallo's face, literally knocking his jaw off
"CHRIST!" Danny yelled
"AAAAAHHHHH!" Metallo screamed.
"Shut up, you're a robot." Owl rolled his eyes as the robot man passed out
"Thanks. We needed that." Cir responded.
"Talk later, fight now." Owl responded.
Garth was fighting with all his might, with the lack of large bodies of water to draw from, his hydrokinesis was useless right now. That would have been a problem... Before he became Tempest, at least
"Wait, what're you-?" One of the assassins asked, as spheres of water began to appear in the air.
"Magic." He said simply
"Did he give us lousy info?" An assassin asked, before being shot down by the spheres of water and knocked out.
Tempest muttered ancient words under his breath, waves of bubbling purple water shot from his eyes like laser beams
"The fuck-? ARGH!" Another assassin was shot down but not dead.
Doctor Light wrapped her powers around Black Manta, keeping him trapped in the bubble "Hnn! Damn it. Guess I didn't expect you being here, Light." Manta commented.
"I am good." She smirked
BOOM!
Bronze Tiger rolled across the ground, snarling
"Him on the other hand." Manta quipped smirking under his helmet.
SHINK!
He was surrounded.
Owl, Dove, Hawk, Static, Danny and Cir-El.

Suddenly Bane and Cheetah came crashing down, falling atop him

"What a stroke of luck." Danny commented.
"Jinx isn't even here." Static chuckled.
"... Fuck my life." Manta groaned.
"I... I... oh... Oh my god." Jade cried
James had reverted to his base form, his human form, and hugged Jade tightly. She had dropped her mask, as she pushed her face against his chest
"Lian... Lian! I... I nearly killed her! I nearly killed my baby! My little girl! How could I have been so stupid?!" She cried, hugging James
"Shh, shh, shh... It's alright. It's alright." He reassured her, hugging her close.
"And... I accepted killing you." She added sadly
James looked at the others and mulled over some words. "... You're not the first." He admitted. "I'm honestly flattered." He ran his hand through her hair, kissing her forehead gently "It's fine. I understand. You did this for Lian. You chose her over me. I get it. I'd think less of you if you'd done the opposite, honestly."
"Really?" She asked
"Yeah, you're a good mother." He praised "Always thinking of Lian first, even if you can't be there for her. Because of who you are."

"Why are you so fucking good? You're such a good guy I wanna puke, sometimes." She grumbled
"I'll hold your hair back, while you do so." He joked
'Cute!' James' girlfriends there thought in joy, though the others sort of imagined puke in the hair... not a good thought.
"Come on, let's get out of here." James spoke as he gave Jade a soft kiss to her lips
"Hmmm~" she moaned weakly, her leg kicking up lightly "... Is... Lian okay?" Jade asked with a blush. That had been the most romantic kiss she had ever had, at least since she was with Roy at least.
"Yes, she's with Roy, Donna and the others." He nodded. "Back at the wedding reception... which I think hasn't quite happened."

"Maybe we could make it a double wedding?" She joked
"Play your cards right it might happen more than once." James smiled.
"Heroes." Manta rolled his eyes.
CLANG!
"Gah..." Manta was knocked out by Cir-El's fist and he was drooling inside his helmet.
"What? He was asking for it!" she shrugged
*With Victor*
Cyberian sighed as he waited for the other heroes to arrive
'Guys, where the heck are you?' He thought as he was getting anxious.
"Victor, are you there?" Sarah asked through her special communicator.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just waiting on the others to get here so we can return to the church... If what's left."
"That's good. Everyone here has finally calmed down for the most part. And, they might have to push the date back because of the church." Sarah joked.
"I guessed." Victor smirked
"Let's just hope we're invited for the next one." Sarah quipped again.
"Maybe it would be best not to do so, or this might repeat himself." He joked
"Hey!" Voices called out as they saw Victor.
"Is that them?" Sarah asked.
"Yeah, it's them." Victor answered. "I'll call you back."
"See you soon." she nodded and ended the call
"Victor!" Jay called out, the team coming towards him.
"Hey guys!" he waved
"Sorry we're late, someone decided to pull a literal fast one with the remaining bombs." Raven looked at Bart.
"It worked, didn't it?" Bart respondd with a proud smirk
"Alright, great work." Victor answered. "We need to head back."
"What about James and the others?" Raven asked.
"I'm sure he's fine Rae, it's James." the cybernetic man encouraged
"I know, but I can't help but worry." She answered as she crossed her arms
"Yeah, that makes sense." Jay responded.
"Sarah said that they might push the date back." Victor commented.
"Of course." Bart laughed and rolled his eyes.
*with James*
James and the remaining heroes picked up their friends and tied up villains, they were about to head back to the wedding "How are we gonna get there?" Danny asked as he looked at ALL the bad guys
"There's... transport. In the caves." Jade mumbled. "Can carry us."

"I think I have something for this." James bummed, shifting through his Matrix
"I swear boss man, you've got something for EVERY occasion." Static noticed
"Unless it's some huge monolith super-car alien, I doubt there's much." Owl commented.
"... This one." As he pressed his Matrix and glowed bright yellow. In James' place was a growing shadow. That grew. And grew. And grew!
"Wha...?!" Their heads looked up in shock and awe at the size of this new alien.
It had eight pad-clawed feet that seemed to have wheels for joints, a hefty long reptilian body with plate-metal scales along his body, a short-necked head with a horned shield-crest around his neck as protection large horns from his head and nose. A metallic jaw and metallic joint unfolded from his back to form a tail with solar-panel-like coverings with steps going into the cavity with joint guards like shoulder pads.
"TANKCERATOPS!" James roared/cheered

"THAT IS FUCKING AWESOME!" Holly cheered like an excited little girl as she ran up the tail and into James' back.
"Wait for me!" Dawn soon followed.
"We, James, that name isnt-" Kimiyo said but was interrupted
"No! Tankceratops!"

"Don't care, it's awesome! Tankceratops!" James said simply and quickly, actually sounding a bit childishly

"... Err, James, are you okay?" Cir asked as she flew next to him.
"I feel great." He answered as Jade stopped her petting
"Well, we should head back. No offence if I just want to get everyone back." Garth asked as he tried to get back to the Titans while the prisoners where secured

"There's a prison section in this?" Static asked in shock.
"Accessories for all travel occasions." Tankceratops responded.
*with the heroes*
The three groups were now together, wondering where James' group were while they had a near 100% conclusion on Vandal Savage for being the villain.
"Kid Flash." Batwoman smiles, hugging Bart
"Hi, Cass." He hugged back and sighed in reief. "What's happened? Everyone okay?"
"Fine." She nodded... And judo flipped him "Scared me to death!"
"Oof! Ow... Love you too." Bart groaned, still in love, despite his back on the ground.

And then he pulled, flipping Cass and making him come crashing down atop him
"Oof. Playboy." She pouted playfully as she was on top of him.
"Get a room." Someone from the crowd remarked.
"No! No they won't!" Nightwing glared, pulling Cass off Bart
"Oh..." Cass frowned, being pulled up like a bad kitten by her parent lion.
"TARA! How long must we wait?!" Brione snapped "Those villains should be in custody by now!"
"Brion, I know that it's difficult! But trust James and the others! They've probably got..." Tara snapped back before the rumbling of the earth. "Do you feel that?"
"... The hell is that?" Brion asked as he also felt it.

"Is it a threat?" Gregor asked
Vandal and the others felt the vibrations and sound growing louder... and their faces dropped as they saw an oncoming monstrosity that came over the hills.
"What? The fuck? Is that?" Luthor asked in shock.
before he saw the Matrix symbol, and his blood turned cold
"TANKCERATOPS!" James cheered happily

Tankceratops almost launched itself into the air, screaming excitedly as he landed outside of the protected area where his legs had turned into caterpillar tracks.
"Hi!" He cheered

"OH MY GOD!" Vincent and Gregor gasped in shock as they saw this.
"Special delivery. One group of assassins." James spoke as he maintained his new form as the heroes exited his cavity and brought out the villains inside.
"Cheshire?!" Roy gasped as she saw the woman walk down from the alien
Jade looked down as she didn't want to see Roy right now. She felt too ashamed.
"Mommy!" Lian cheered and rushed forwards, trying to give her a hug
"Lian." Jade whispered as she saw her, but turned away, not wanting to have her daughter associated with her.

Lian came to a stop, looking up in horror. Seeing her mother turn away so... Dismissively? "Mommy?" she muttered
'I'm sorry, Lian.' She thought as she broke her heart.
In a blast of light, James turned back to normal. "Don't!" He said powerfully to Jade, breaking the silence as he looked into Jade's eyes "Don't do this."
"I... I can't-" Jade frowned as she looked at him and then to Lian.
"Come here!" Jade said as she got to her knees, holding her arms wide
"MOMMY!" Lian rushed forward and leapt into Jade's arms and cried, feeling that she had done something wrong. But she loved her mother regardless.
"I'm sorry baby. I did it to protect you. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry." Jade mumbled quietly
"James, what's going on?" Gregor asked
"Jade was forced to be here, Lian was threatened by the man who tried to kill you and destroy the kingdom." James explained. "Jade told me who it was." His simple statement grabbed everyone's attention, however
The people were confused and stunned to hear that, the person who attacked them was here!
The one behind all this?!
"Tell us!" Brion snapped
Both Thad and Tim stood up and looked at the three suspects: Psimon, Lex Luthor and Vandal Savage.
"Now?" Tim asked
"Now." Thad nodded
"Ladies and gentlemen; the assassin and mastermind is him!" Thad spoke.
"Vandal Savage!" Tim pointed as everyone turned to look at them
"Titans. Reel in your children." Vandal mocked
James shook his head. "What're you talking about?" He asked the two.
"The evidence lines up, first: the assassin's bomb." Thad spoke. "Only someone with high regeneration can survive it."
"Regeneration? Preposterous." Vandal frowned
"Second: from credible sources, it's been said that Mr Savage has been around for hundreds of years, backed up from documentation from the JLA's database!" Tim continued.
"But there is more." Thad added "There where only three possible candidates for the ones behind all this chaos."
"Wait, three?" The guests asked in shock.
"First, Psimon. The current ruler of Byala. A kingdom known for having one of the largest MetaHuman populations on Earth. The resources that Markovia has can increase his MetaHuman population to the millions; taking in refugees and the resources for his own!" Thad spoke out.
The crowd gasped as Psimon was called out and put on the stand, and he knew the heroes here would outnumber him fifty to one.
"Second, Lex Luthor!" Tim pointed at him and several members of the guests began to boo in disbelief
"SHUT UP!" Holly yelled at them. "... Continue boys."
"Mr Luthor has eyes on the trade agreements to Markovian royalty for months now, as proven by the King and his family. The resources of Markovia are *lethal* to Kryptonians, specifically Superman." Thad answered. "The resources he would acquire in the trade will most certainly kill superheroes!"
"As if I would do that." Lex said innocently
Gregor and Brion looked at each other in shock, horrified that their home would be plundered for murder and people.
"But Savage? Oh, Savage is much more than that." Tim pointed out dramatically "After all, of Lex or Psiomon did this then their opponent's would be on guard. Savage though... He's been careful. The world does not see him as an enemy, while at the same time he sees the entire world as an enemy."
"Nonsense." He rebutted. "What could I possibly gain by doing this?"
"Twice the land for your kingdom." Tim stated
"The survivors will be easy to enslave. A large superhuman army. Getting rid of a large section of the hero landscape. Getting rid of potential threats." Thad listed off
"But why would I attempt to blow myself up? What's to be gained from my death?" Savage snapped
"You're 'immortal'; someone who's lived for centuries." Tim answered.
"Or weren't you paying attention?" Thad spat out.
Vandal Savage was scowling at the young Titans, with eyes trained all on him and most of them were in fear and some with daggers from other powerful members of the guests.
'You fucking bastard.' Lex thought angrily.
"And using explosions that would level the entirety of the country, you'd walk out without a scratch on you." Tim responded.
"A perfect plan. Everyone in the royal family dead, you'd reap what you sowed." Thad frowned.
"Is this true?" Gregor frowned
Vandal scowled down at them and frowned as the Titans and heroes surrounded him. "I told you, Your Highness. It would've been better if it was a quiet affair." As he brushed his suit.
Vincent's face dropped as he heard that. "Y-You suggested that." He stammered.
"All empires require sacrifice, 'Your Highness'. I have existed for longer than your paltry kingdom and I'll exist long after your bones turn to dust." Savage responded. "Compared to my visions for this world, you are but ants to a god."
Brion roared, rushing at Savage "You bastard!" Brion roared and slammed his fist at Savage's face... only to be stopped by his fist being caught by someone else.
A powerful strong grip from a floating man wearing a full black costume, a golden belt, shin guards and bracers, a bright golden lightning bolt emblazoned on his chest, Egyptian features with shaved black hair and a hollow look to his face.
This was a man... known as Black Adam.
