Chapter 11
"We know a little about a lot of things; just enough to make us dangerous." -Dean Winchester
"Ok, so the first thing that I remember is the inside of a cupboard under the stairs, because that is where my 'aunt and uncle' made me sleep until my Hogwarts letter came. Once I was tall enough to reach the stove while on a stool, Petunia made me cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner. After a few months, she started forcing me to clean the house, and once I mastered that, she started teaching me how to do the yardwork, and exactly how she liked her flowers to look. The only room that I was not expected to clean was the kitchen. My 'cousin' only ever got exercise when he was chasing me to beat me up. From I think the age of four, my 'uncle' started using me as his punching bag as well. I got very good at learning how to dodge when living with them. When I started school, they kept the bruises only in places that were easy to hide. At school, I never had any friends, because my 'cousin' would threaten all of them. Him and his gang would chase me, so I learned to be pretty fast. Once I went to Hogwarts though, everything changed.
"I had two good friends, Ron and Hermione. I thought they were amazing, until I heard a conversion that they had with the headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, that my friends were being paid to be friends with me, so that I would not be friends with anyone on the 'darkside' aka slytherins. What he does not know is that I was almost sorted into slytherin. Everyone thinks that I am a gryffindor, just because James and Lily Potter were both gryffindors.
So, my year started out fine, the first alarming thing was that one of my professors hated me, his name is Severus Snape. He was my potions professor. I later talked with him, and I found out why he hated me, it was because James Potter used to bully him. The next thing that happened was I was put onto the quidditch team for my house. Quidditch is a game played on broomsticks, about 150 feet in the air. At my first game, someone tried to kill me, but Snape and Hermione saved me. Another thing that happened around this time was that someone let a troll into the castle, and Ron and I saved Hermione from said troll. Next we found that there was a three headed dog locked in a room that a first year can unlock with a simple charm.
After a while, where nothing was happening, the groundskeeper got a hold of a dragon egg, and Hermione and I finally convinced Hagrid to let Charlie, Ron's older brother who works with dragons, take the two week old dragon to Romania. In taking the dragon up to the tallest tower, Hermione and I got detention. For detention, we got sent into the forbidden forest. Our job was to find an injured unicorn. I did find the unicorn, but it was dead, and something was drinking the blood of the unicorn, which is a curse in my world. It was Voldemrt drinking the blood. Now Voldemort was the person who killed Lily and James. At the end of the year, I faced Voldemort after a series of challenges designed to protect the philosopher's stone, which is a thing from alchemy. I ended up in the hospital wing at the end of the year," Jamie finished telling his tale. His family was staring at him in shock.
Sam was the first one to come out of the shock, and he hugged Jamie, and after Dean shook his head to jar himself out of shock, he hugged Jamie once Sam was done. "Thank you for trusting us, Jamie," Dean stated. John was still staring at his youngest son. Bobby was smiling at the kid. It took a lot of bravery to tell them that. John gently took his youngest son's hands in his, and looked into his son's eyes, to see if he was lying, but he could not see any trace of a lie in his son's eyes. John hugged his son, and gently released the boy.
"Alright, thank you for telling us this, Jamie, that took a lot of courage, and I am glad that the whole ocean separates me from those bastards. How could someone hurt you?" John asked himself, as he let go of his son, and Dean put his hands on Jamie's shoulders.
"How did you feel when you found out that you had a family that were not those people?" Sam asked.
"Relieved, as well as hopeful that my family would be better," Jamie replied softly. Dean smiled at that.
"Did you know we were hunters when you set out to find us?" Sam asked, as he grabbed Jamie another coke.
"Yes, Lily wrote it in her letter, by the way, here is the letter, and then there is one for you. Father," Jamie stated, passing an envelope over to John as well as the letter Jamie had read. The letter to John stated:
Dear John Winchester,
My name is Lily Potter, sadly I must inform you that James, my husband, and I were the ones that got given James Oliver, who Albus Dumbledore stole from you and your wife, Mary. I know what killed Mary, she was killed by Dumbledore, who before his famous duel with Grindelwald, accepted the opportunity to host a knight of Hell, Azazel, one of the first demons that appeared after Lucifer was banished to Hell. Voldemort is not the evil that James and I are fighting, but Dumbledore. Voldemort was created by Dumbledore, he did what all demons do, twist human souls into doing their evil for them. Afterall, Azazel does not like to get his hands dirty.
Anything made by goblins will kill demons, but the best thing to kill a demon in the magical world is Godric Gryffindor's sword. Now we know that being 'behind enemy lines' is hard, and that is why I have listed you as the first benefactor, besides James Oliver, in our will. We have multiple houses in the USA from which you can set up as safe houses. Each house is warded to the maximum level, and has fences, all made of iron, and coated with salt.
The year we spent raising James Oliver made us realize that we love him as if he were our son. I hope you don't mind, but he has two godfathers that may come around, afterall, they know his true parentage. Sirius Black, a magical vampire, is extremely powerful, and a very dear friend. He can help teach James Oliver some magical defenses, and Remus Lupin, a magical werewolf. Now, I know werewolves in America have become a bit savage, but if Remus is registered at MCUSA, then they will send him wolfsbane potion for the week leading up to the full moon. Remus is so smart, and would be a good tutor for James Oliver in the summer. James Oliver has a place at Ilvermorny, as well as a more private institute, Salem Wizards Institute for Magical Learning. I personally recommend Salem, because they don't have any interaction with other magic academies beside their sister school, Salem Witches Institute.
I am so deeply sorry about your wife, and that your son was stolen from you. I do hope you Dean and Sam are doing well, and have not let the hunter life consume you completely.
Regards,
Lily Potter
"Well that is a lot to process," John stated before getting up, and coming back with a bottle of Jack, and drank straight from the bottle.
