Run Into The Lightning
We run around the globe, where Hunter and Thad had escaped to. An undisclosed island that was somewhere in the ocean. Both Hunter and Thad were panting heavily as they were caught off guard by the sudden shift in events.
"What-What did you do?" Thad asked
"As I said, you have much to learn about our powers." Hunter mumbled as he began to heal from the punches James delivered "Time and space are relative. And if you know HOW to manipulate the former, the latter bends to your will."
"You mean... I can cause 'Time Bombs'?" Thad whispered realising what it meant
"Tip. Of. The. Iceberg." Hunter smirked
Thad sighed and sat down on the sand, looking out at the sea. "Alright... What's first?"
"Well... Now?" Hunter smirked "We have a way... To make them suffer."
*With the heroes*
"Oh my god, oh my god, ohmygod!" Bart panicked as he was running with his friends, carrying Cass in his arms. One by one he ran across the town, getting everyone to Central City's main hospital
"Thank you, Bart." Wally spoke in relief, seeing him take on more than he needed too.
"You okay?" James asked
"Honestly? I'm panicking! I'm going to be a dad!" Wally responded, his heart racing. "I can't believe it's happening!"
"Wally, as one father to another. You. Can. Do. This. You're here for Diana. It's going to be tough at first, but you're going to do good." James reassured him.
"However he isn't with her." Jay commented "She would literally pull his arm off."
"... Yeah... I remember when Kori and Kom gave birth. I had to turn into an alien with superstrength just to deal with the contractions." James chuckled, reminiscing about his babies.
"So? What do I do?" Wally asked, still panicking.
"You're here. We're here to help." James responded. "We'll... help in case Diana needs a hand to squeeze."
"Thanks." Wally nodded, while Wondergirl and Superboy rubbed their hands nervously.
"You okay?" Cass asked
"Honestly? Scared. Thad's out there, Hunter is on our tail. And now babies being born?" Bart admitted.
Cass leaned over and kissed his cheek gently, just to steady his nerves. "It will be fine."
"But-"
"We will get him back." She promised
"Ah, Mr West." A doctor spoke seeing him there.
"Doc, what's wrong?" Wally turned.
"Everything's fine. But Ms Prince is screaming for you." They explained.
"Right." He nodded
"Can you guys-?"
"We're right with you." Garth nodded.
"Thanks." He sighed
"Please, don't crowd her." The doctor asked.
"Trust us, you're going to need us there." Wonder Girl answered.
...
"My family is weird." James laughed to himself as he saw the people go into the delivery room
"You think?" The group deadpanned.
James smiled as she sat back, thinking of it.
Dick and Duela where basically his family. Though them he was connected to the entire BatFamily. Cass was more or less his niece. She was dating Bart, making him related to the Flash Family. And with Wally and Diana, that was the Wonder Family and the Amazon's as further family.
Add to that Lian, who through Cheshire he was basically the second father to. And Roy's new wife, Lian's second mother, was Donna. An Amazon, a member of the Wonder Family.
And with Lian/Roy, there is Green Arrow and his allies.
Then there was Bleez and Kyle, having some relation to the Lantern Corps and how they were close.
He had deep personal connections to almost every corner of the hero world.
It was honestly wild how much he was connected to them. And all of it started when he fell through that interdimensional portal.

The demon did ONE thing right
*Time Skip*
"You want us to WHAT?!" Thad snapped in horror
"What's the first thing I told you? All great heroes are born through suffering. And what better cause of suffering is there than THAT?" Hunter explained, the maddening red lighting coursing through his eyes.
"But... Babies! You're talking about something that is literally monsterous?" Thad snapped/argued
"You're not backing out now are you? YOU committed acts that can be called 'heinous'!" Hunter pointed at him.
Those words shot Thad to the core True, he had caused acts against Bart and the Flash Family... how he himself was a villain that caused strife for them.
He had no choice
"A-Alright. We'll-"
"Not 'we'. You!" Hunter ordered and stressed
"What?!" Thad asked in horror
"The only way you can make The Flash better, making Bart greater is to do this. It has to be YOU!"
"But-"
"No 'buts'. You have to push them to that limit! You have to be the one to make them better!"
Hunter's eyes where crased, darkness and anger clear as day
*At the hospital*
It was a long time in the hospital, screams and pain echoed in the room...and that was just from Wondergirl and Superboy having their hands crushed by Diana's godly grip as she had given birth.
But it was all worth it. In a crying Wally's arms was a baby, one of the twins. A beautiful baby boy, while in Diana's was a gentle baby girl.
"Perfect." Wally said proudly "They are perfect."
"Congratulations." Jay smiled as he patted his shoulder.
"Thanks." Wally smiled, before having his son's hand "Hey, Jai, say hi to your Grandpa Jay."
"'Jai'?" Jay smiled as he looked at the closed eyes of the babe.
"Bart? Would you like to say hello to Irey?" Diana asked, exhausted but still holding her baby daughter.
"Yeah, yeah." He smiled. Bart leaned over and saw Irey, his finger cautiously nearing her cheek and gently stroked it. She was so soft. "Hey aunty." He urged
"I'm sorry?" Diana asked in confusion.
"Nothing." Bart answered, whispering just loud enough not to wake Irey.
"Bart." Diana sighed and smirked "You can't get by me."
"I'm from the future. She's family." He admitted. "Sorry, guess you forgot."
"Don't you mean 'we're family'?" Diana smirked.
"Yeah. We're family." He nodded. "I'm Barry Allen's grandson, remember." He added
"Yes, I know." Diana nodded, thinking about Barry from before. "Your grandfather was a great man."
Bart nodded silently as he agreed, having his finger held by Irey.
*In the other room*
Wonder Girl and Superboy had their hands bandaged up. "How're you two doing?" James asked.
"Surviving." They answered, showing their hands.
"Let me help." James said, flicking through his Matrix
"You don't have to." Cassie answered.
"You're my friends. Let me do this much." James answered as he turned into his alien. As the flash of yellow died down, he revealed that he had became GaiaHeart once again
"You're not going to age us into embryos; right?" Superboy asked.
"It doesn't work like that, Connor. And I know what to do." James answered. "Hands please." As the two rose their hands, James carefully grasped them and used his ability to rewind the wounds their hands had suffered through and fixed them. "There we go." He nodded
"Wow, just like new." Wonder Girl smiled.
"Thanks, man." Superboy flexed his hand slowly.
"What're friends for?" James smiled. "Cass? You okay?"
Cass turned to James as she was deep in thought, thinking about Thad and what had happened to him. She didn't know how to answer. Her boyfriend was bad again... and it seemed to be that her dark future was happening regardless.
She didn't go. Most of them didn't. But those that did didn't hide what they learnt.

Outside Garth, to most of their knowledge.
What more would this dark future force itself into their present? What if it was inevitable?
"Cass." James frowned
She looked up at him and hugged him like an uncle. She was confused right now.
James sighed and stroked the top of her head. "It's gonna be okay. I promise."
"Help..." She mumbled
"We're going to, Cass. We're going to help Thad." James answered as he jugged the young woman, the woman who was basically his niece
*outside*
"Everything's alright now." Jay commented as he waited outside.
"How're they feeling?" Garth asked
"Better, much better than earlier." He nodded.
"Good." He nodded

"What's Bart doing there?" Garth asked as he noticed the former Impulse sat at a bench
"Let me ask." Jay responded, getting up from his seat and walked over. "Hey kid, you okay?"
"Oh, hey Jay Senior." Bart joked weakly "Yeah... I'm. I'm alright."
"I'm gonna be living with that for a while, aren't I?" Jay laughed
"Yeah." Bart laughed weakly with a smirk "... Sorry Jay. I've just been thinking. About Max."
"I understand. I miss him too." Jay nodded. "He was the best of us."
"He'd know how to help Thad." Bart grumbled butterly, his fists clenching as he held back tears 'Why... Why can't I help him? Max... why did you have to go?'
"Who's Max?" Garth asked
"'Who's Max'? Only the greatest Speedster in the history of ever!" Bart explained in shock, as if horrorfied that Garth had not heard of him.
"Max Mercury. A speedster before me. And the only one to find harmony within the speed force and to fully understand it." Jay explained proudly "He was known as the Zenmaster of speed. My friend. And Bart's mentor."
"I thought that was Wally?" Garth asked... Making Jay laugh
"Please!" Jay laughed "Wally and Bart couldn't STAND each other way back when! Wally was too careful while Bart was... Well he was called Impulse for a reason."
"Ah, I see. You were uncontrollable." Garth nodded, knowing what Bart was like "Not that you're much better now." he smirked gently
"Hey!" Bart frowned.
"You're still as impulsive as ever, Bart. It's one of your defining traits." Jay responded "But you have gotten better."
"I just hope I'm good enough to get through to Thad." Bart admitted.
"We'll get through to him." Jay answered.
"I HAVE to save him." Thad muttered
"Because of the future that James and the others went to?" Garth asked. "Or because you want to?"
"Both." He said proudly
"Well, that answers that." Garth calmly responded.
"But my question is... what is Thad going to do now?" Jay pondered.
BOOM!
"What the hell was that?!" Garth gasped as the boom took them all off guard. And sure enough, they saw it. Hunter and Thad where there.
"You!" Jay called out in anger.
"Old man." Hunter responded quickly.
"What are you doing here, Thad?" Bart asked
Thad looked ashamed by why he was there... He looked at Bart, before using his new speed and rushed inside the hospital while Hunter ran the distraction.
"THAD!" Bart tried to run at him, only to get a face full of Hunter's fist.
"Staaaaayyyyyy theeeeerrrrrreeeee." Hunter warned.
In the hospital, Thad's speed was imperceptible to any normal person, as he made his way to Diana's room and saw Wally holding their newborn children. His speed made him freeze time for just moments around them, he saw how tiny those two were... he grabbed a baby carrier and took the two from their parents' hands.
"Th-Thad?!" Wally felt the presence of Thad's arrival, seeing him as his hands felt lighter. "No!"
*on the hospital roof*
In Thad's hands, he saw them, carried in a carrier before the lightning shot away and left the heroes in the dust.

"What am I doing?" He said aloud as he came to a stop atop the hospital. He was sat on his knees, looking down at the battle, next to the two children.
The kids were whimpering, crying at the new sounds that were around them. It scared them.
"Jay... Irey..." he muttered, looking down at them. The wind blew through Thad's hair, his body shaking as he heard their cries; reeling in from the ramifications of what he had just done.
What Hunter WANTED him to do

His head fell into his hands, and he began to cry
That was all he could do. The thing he was ordered to do, broke him. All he could ask was
'Why? Why, why, why, why why?'
...
The word was slow once again.
Reduced down to the slowest Thad could make it. He lost his grip to everything as he cried in the nothingness

And felt a hand on his shoulder
"H-huh?" He looked at the hand on his shoulder, confused by who it could be. Was it Hunter?
He saw a...
A red glove on his shoulder.
He quickly span around. Standing behind him...
Was the Flash!
Only it wasn't Wally.
Wally's suit was a deep dark maroon, while this person was clad in a more cherry red shaded suit. Instead of the 'Batman lenses', this person had large holes around his eyes showing off their sparkling blue orbs to the world. And instead of the lightning bolt ear pieces, this guy's ear pieces had a more wing design to them. And finally the lightningbolt was less defined, less sharp edges and almost wavey.
"Hello Thaddeus." The man said in a calm voice and a smile
"Who... Who are you?" He asked in shock
"I use to be known as the Fastest Man Alive, the Flash." The man said ever calm "Hello Thad, I'm your grandpa. It's nice to meet you. My name is Barry Allen."
*Down at the fight*
"ARGH!" Bart screamed as he was thrown around like a ragdoll by Hunter.
"Bart!" James called out, panicking as he saw this.
"You." Hunter smirked "You might want to go somewhere else, hero! With what Thad and I have planned, who knows the tragedy to come?!"
"I'm more of a 'comedy' guy." James answered, turning his Matrix and slammed it to transform.
"Say goodbyeto the kids, theeeen." Zoom smirked
"What the hell did you say?" Bart coughed angrily.
All Zoom did was look at the hospital and laughed darkly
"You sonofa-!" James angrily growled as he turned into Velocity and aimed to slash at him. He cut across Hunter's body, sending him flying, before James ran away from the hospital in hopes of finding Thad. James ran as fast as he could, he had to find Thad.
He had to find the kids!
He rushed away from the battle, trying to find them...
"And that... Is my only threat gone." Hunter laughed
Bart crunched his hands into a fist, angrily glaring daggers at Hunter and cursing Thad. How could they do this?
"Bart. Don't." Jay held his stomach as Hunter hit him hard.
Hunter just glared down with a vicious smirk, knowing Bart couldn't do much to him. Who could touch his speed without that shape-shifting hero?
*with Thad, on the roof*
"Barry?"
There, standing before Thad, was Barry Allen. The former 'Fastest Man Alive'. The man that 'created' the Speed Force. All he was doing was smiling down at Thad.
"That's my name, don't wear it out." Barry said cheerfully "Gotta say though. Didn't think I'd be meeting one of my Grandsons like this."
"You? You think I'm one of your family?" Thad asked in confusion. "I'm a Thawne!"
"So's Bart, but that doesn't stop him." Barry rebutted."Your Bart's brother anyway, right? Your my grandson. If you like it or not, buddy. You aren't just one thing."
Thad's eyes sparked with frustration, tears flowing down his eyes as he was conflicted by how kind Barry was. How? How could the Allen family be like this? "After everything-"
"Everything what? Eobard did? Are you Eobard?" Barry asked
And Thad froze
"You are your own person Thaddeus. You make your own choices. You don't have to do anything you don't want to do. You want to make someone happy by being nice? You're allowed to. You want a certain job? Go ahead. Share a girlfriend with your brother? Be my guess." Barry continued, clearly teasing with the last comment "However. There are always consequences to your choices. And it's those that make you choose one option over another, even if you want to do one more than the other. It's why I know you don't want to hurt anyone."
"Wh-what do I do? What do I do, Barry?" the blonde asked as he ripped his mask off, holding back his tears
"You make a choice. Your choice." Barry answered simply. "Don't let Hunter make your decisions for you."
Thad turned to the children in the basket, seeing them cry as the new noises were making them upset. He went to them and began to hush them gently, trying to keep them asleep or placated. He didn't want to scare them.
"It's okay. It's okay. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." He repeated as he tried to calm them.
"I'm sorry..." Thad cried
"It's okay." Barry urged as he knelt next to Thad, setting his hand on his shoulder "You are a good person."
"But... I've hurt so many." Thad admitted.
"And you acknowledge that. It'll be alright." Barry reassured him. "You can be better. Just try your best. If you want to, you will."
"Thank you, Ba-" Thad whimpered. But he stopped, taking a deep breath. "Thank you... Grandpa." He nodded, looking up at the man. As lightning sparked through his eyes
But if wasn't the sickeningly green of Inertia, nor the dark orange he had gained as Kid Zoom.
No.
The lightning sparking around him now... Was a golden shade of yellow.
The lightning of a Flash!
"There you go." Barry smiled as he disappeared into nothing.
Thad only stood there, wondering if it had all been real, for only a picosecond. Only for one trillionth of a second.
In a flash of yellow, Jai and Irey where in the arms of their mother once again.
*Down below*
Hunter glared down with a vicious smirk, knowing Bart couldn't do much to him. Who could touch his speed without that shape-shifting hero? James Tennyson, Jay 10, was gone. Jay Garrick was running on his own super speed, not even a percentage of his old speed. Tempest, Superboy and Wonder Girl where nothing compared to him. And Kid Flash?
"Without Wally, what can you do?!" Hunter laughed "You're all alone, Allen!"
ZAP!
"Who said he was alone?" Thad asked as he stood side by side with Bart
"Th-Thad?" Bart coughed as he saw him.
"What are you doing?!" Hunter glared.
"You forget something, Zoom." Thad responded "About Bart and I."
"And what's that?" He snarled
"I was raised to hate him." Thad explained, before he rolled his neck "And by god is he one of the most egotistical, headache giving, activating, hyperactive, bathroom hogging, lazy, empty headed, naive, stupid, scatterbrained, idiotic-"
"... Are we getting to a GOOD point soon?" Bart blinked
"- perverted numbsku I've EVER met!" Thad finished off with a roll of his eyes
"Play nice." Cass called with a frown
"Geez... Thanks bro." Bart mumbled
"But despite all I did, all I tried to do. All I WANTED to do. And all I was SAID to do." Thad explained "He always forgave me. Always brushed off whatever I did. Never treated me as a threat. Why? Because I'm his brother. He saw that, realised that and decided that the second we met. The literal second he saw even one of my atoms his mind was made up. He trusts me, loves me. And his friends forgave my past and want to help me."
"Get to the damn point!" Hunter spat
"The POINT, Hunter! Is, unlike you, I am NOT chained to the past!" Thad snapped "When my mind is not clouded by fear, by anxiety, by those damn drugs, and by your dark words... I see what I've really got! And with my head clear? I refuse to give it up! Because what did you promise me? Nothing! Nothing but pain! And pain alone does not make people grow! And pain does not always equal growth, sometimes those wounds never heal! HERE is a Flash Fact for you! EVERYONE stumbles, and get hurt! But it's those around us that help us stand tall and start running again! THAT is real growth! REAL strength!"
"The only way to-"
"Oh. Just. SHUT UP about that 'pain and suffering equals greatness'." Thad groaned, slamming his fist into Hunter's stomach before he could finish his speil. "I've only listened to you for like half a day and I'm already SICK of it!"
"Well, he's better than Eobard at least." Bart quipped with a smirk, following up on Thad's attack as he kicked Zoom in the jaw
SPLAT!
Blood shot out of Hunter's mouth, the surprise attacks between the two brothers as they dragged him away from the hospital.
"Hey Thad, let's do it to it!" Bart smirked as he held out his hand
"You are so simple minded." The blonde mocked... But gave his brother a fist bump, holding back a smirk. Gold and yellow lightning sparked as they rushed forwards, Bart using the Speed Force and Thad using the time-speed powers of Zoom
Hunter got back to his feet, trying to keep up with Bart and Thad's speed. Bart was slow to his eyes, only to have Thad strike him in his leg, not snapping it but it drove him away from hitting Bart.
Bart's fists landed multiple times in his side, each strike reverberating through his body. And then Thad followed up, blocking and deflecting any counter attack that Zoom tried to put up. FORCING the time based villain to take Bart's attacks
The two shifted, in perfect timing spinning and slamming their feet into Hunter's nose together. Perfectly in synch, spinning and doing a combined heel-kick
The pair's lightning scorched around Hunter, punching and kicking around him like a storm around him. A flurry of kicks and punches continued around the singular person.
"ENOUGH!" Hunter snapped as there was a wave of black lighting...
And Thad and Bart found they couldn't move
"Gah! Hnn! Wh-what's? Happening?" The two grunted, struggling to move.
"As I said Thaddeus. You only know a FRACTION of these powers." He glared. Hunter then slashed his arm, both Bart and Thad yelling as they suddenly crashes into the wall behind them.
"The hell... Ow..." Bart grumbled
"Did he... Slow down one time compared to the world?" Thad theorised
CRASH!
"GAAAAAHHHHHH!" Hunter howled as his leg was suddenly snapped
"You two! Think! Be smart and work out how to best him!" Cass ordered as she stood up, her foot having slammed into Hunter's leg
"Yes ma'am." They both nodded
"We'll hold him off." Superboy smirked
"You'll try." Hunter growled as his leg fixed itself
Both Bart and Thad looked at Hunter, seeing him tank both Superboy and Wonder Girl. There had to be something, something to break his stride.
They had to find SOME way to stop him.
But how?
Thad was still learning his powers. And they where not fast enough...
"Thad. I think I've got the answer." Kid Flash said suddenly "Flash Fact, energy is never destroyed. It either stores or is transferred to another state. Flash fact, speedseters gather lightning as they run and gain speed. Flash fact, when you reach the speed of light time slows until it stands still."

"You are not planning what I think you are, are you?" Thad frowned
Cass threw a Batarang at Hunter, cutting Zoom's arm. He was distracted by the attack, allowing Wonder Girl to throw him into the air. Once up there, Superboy used his tactile telekenisis to hold him frozen.
"GUYS! DO WHATEVER YOU'RE GONNA DO!" Superboy called out, straining his power just to keep Hunter in place.
"Hold me in place while I build the charge, Thad!" Bart snapped lightly "This might be our only chance!"
"You're mad. Absolutely crazy!" Thad answered but seeing the look in Bart's eyes... he sighed "Fine!"
"You're crazy to, you're helping me." Bart smirked as he got into a sprinters position "But what do you expect? We're brothers."
"Yeah... We are." Thad nodded as he held his hand out "I'm not even sure if I can do this... But we have to try."
"Can't do without try." Bart nodded as he began to run. The second his legs began to move... Thad used his power.
An aura surrounded Bart as he ran... And Bart didn't move. He was running in place, as lightning began to spark around his form brighter and brighter.
Hunter began to vibrate, straining against Superboy's tactile telekinesis with second after second, after second. Wearing him down to make a hundred years pass within mere moments.
"This is... ow!" Superboy grunted as blood dripped down his nose
"Thad? Bart? What are you doing?" Jay asked
"Something crazy!" they called together, as Bart looked almost interly consumed by yellow lightning
"I'm gonna give a countdown! Let go once I've said zero!" Bart informed
"HNN! Okay! From what though?" Thad asked.
"Ten! Nine! Eight!" Bart began.
"OH YOU GOT TO BE kidding me, Bartholomew!" Thad snapped
"Seven! Six! Five!" Bart roared as the lightning built up more and more
"Hnn... GRARGH!" Hunter roared as he was forcing himself out of the hold.
"Can't. Hold. On!" Conner grunted as his nose began to bleed. "Guys!"
"Ha!" Both Cass' threw and attacked hunter to try and distract him.
"Four! Three! TWO! ONE! ZERO!" Bart called
"HA!" Thad roared as he released his hold
BOOM!
"GAH!" both Jay and Thad yelled as they where sent flying back from the sonic boom caused as Bart accalerated
Bart... ran.
He didn't see anything except yellow as he wrapped his arms around Hunter's waist and RAN! He dragged the older man away, faster and faster.
With how fast he ran you'd think he'd be half way around the world the moment he was holding Hunter.
You would be sort of correct.
The Speed Force crackled around them, Bart's speed passing that of light. Faster than time, leaving Hunter Zolomon vulnerable.
As. Bart. Ran.
Into the Speed Force.
One second he grabbed Hunter. The next... he was gone.
In his place? Nothing.
"Bart?" Cass asked
"What... what happened?" Superboy panted
...
"No... no! No he didn't!" Jay yelled with wide eyes "He couldn't! NO!"
"'He didn't', what? What did he do?" Wonder Girl panicked.
"He ran..." Jay whispered sadly.
"Right into the Speed Force." Thad answered.
"He did what his grandfather did." Jay admitted as he fell onto a nearby bench, which was barley standing "Ran into nothingness."
The group that weren't Speedsters almost collapsed as they heard that. What had he done?
Cass' eyes were welling up with tears as she heard that. She would never see her boyfriend again? No...it-it couldn't be. Not this. This couldn't be... wouldn't be her future! It was meant to be with both of them! That was the future she WANTED! The future she would fight for!
"WHY?!" Superboy roared as he rushed forwards, grabbing Thad by the front of his suit "JUST! WHY?!" Connor raised his voice angrily, almost ready to punch Thad in the face. Ready to splatter his blood all over the place.
"Because it was the only way!" Thad responded "The ONLY way to stop-"
Crack!
Connor's fist was in the wall just centimetres away from Thad's face, his face scrunched in pain and anguish.
"You little-" he snarled
CRACK!
