Intro: An AU (Alternate Universe) story! Lucy and Natsu plan on going on a date, but it's snowing today. Will they have a stay at home date, or go out and play?

Lucy stared with her mouth slightly open as she looked out the window. Now yes, it is January, but she didn't think it would be snowing today. Last night her and her boyfriend made plans to go on a date today, but now it seems like there's so much snow that one of them may fall. It's been fine for 3 weeks now, no snow and beautiful weather (well...cold too!) But of course the day she picks to go out it just HAS to snow.

Lucy closed her mouth and sat down on her couch as she thought about what to do. She could call Natsu and cancel the date, but he might already be on his way. So now she has to decide if they will stay in her apartment, or go out. Now, Natsu may never show up, and if so that's fine. This is just in case he did decide to venture out into the coldness. Looking around she looked for things they could do in case they stayed in. There was her hall closet that had some board games, there was the movie cabinet the TV is sitting on, the kitchen where they could bake and cook, and then there was always the couch or bed to just cuddle and relax. Other than that, there wasn't much they could do inside.

If they went out, they could build a snowman, play in the snow, have a snowball fight, go out to dinner, and depending on if things are open, go out and shop. Either one sounds fun to her, but she has to wait to see if Natsu decided to come or not. By now it was 11:20, and they decided he would meet her at 11:30 at her apartment, last night, so he would arrive any minute if he did come. Raising up she went to her kitchen and started to make herself some hot chocolate. After 3 minutes, she had her cocoa in her hands and was sitting down smiling at the warm taste it left in her mouth. After about 4 minutes of her sipping her drink there was a knock at the door. Placing her drink down on the table, she stood up and went to answer her door.

When she opened the door there stood her boyfriend grinning at her with snow all over his pink hair and his clothes. "Heya Luce!" he shouted. She let out a joyful laugh before responding, "Hey Natsu! Went out even in the snow it seems?" Natsu gave her a bigger grin before leaning down and giving her a small kiss. "I taste chocolate. Can I have some?" He asked. Lucy let out a giggle before allowing him inside. She left him to settle in while she went towards the kitchen and started to make him some hot chocolate. "So, are you still wanting to hang out today or are we staying in?" Natsu asked her once he got to the doorway of the kitchen. Lucy thought for a minute as she stirred in the mixture. "I was actually going to ask you that. Whichever one we choose is fine, we can make plans either way." Lucy said. Natsu nodded before going back to her living room and sitting down. Taking the cocoa with her, she headed back into the room and handed Natsu his drink.

She sat beside him and grabbed her glass off of the table as she turned and looked at him. "So, what do you think we should do for today?" Natsu looked up in thought for a moment before responding, "How about we go out for a little bit today and then spend the rest of today in the apartment?" Lucy thought about it for a minute before agreeing. They sat and talked while finishing their drinks and joked around. After a while Lucy went and got changed into warmer clothes. "Alright, let's get going!" Lucy stated as she entered the living room once again. Natsu stood up and they exited the apartment. Lucy locked up and then they set out.

"So where are we going first?" Natsu questioned. Lucy skipped beside him being careful of the snow and ice on the ground, "Well, since it's a little bit past 12:00, let's go find something to eat." Natsu nodded and they continued. If Lucy were to look back, she would see the little smile on Natsu's face at seeing his girlfriend literally skipping all the way down to their favorite restaurant in town. Once they arrived they entered and went to find an area to sit at. "Stay here and I'll go order us something." Natsu said as he went off to order their things. Lucy huffed as she still had her hand in her purse ready to give him her card. After 5 minutes Natsu arrived back with their food. He chuckled as he heard Lucy grumbling about not getting to pay. "Here you go Luce. Some steak and fries." Natsu said as he handed her the meal. He also handed her a lemonade. "Thank you Natsu." She said with a grateful smile. Natsu sat down and ate his meal which was a 4 piece chicken plate with some gravy and fries. He also had a coke beside him.

After a nice 40 minutes of eating, talking, getting dessert, and just lazing around they exited the restaurant. "That was a nice meal!" Lucy exclaimed as they walked hand in hand. "It sure was." Natsu responded before he noticed something. "Although, you still have some of our dessert left." He chuckled as he wiped the little bit of icing off her lips. They had a piece of a carrot cake. Lucy let out a chuckle and gave him a quick kiss. "So, where do you want to go now?" Lucy asked him. Natsu thought about it for a moment. "Let's just walk around and enjoy the snow some." Lucy agreed and they went walking around the city. With Lucy skipping, she almost fell a few times but Natsu caught her. Of course he laughed too, but he couldn't help it. After a while Lucy felt a sudden force against her head. Reaching towards the back of her head, she felt something cold. Looking back at her hand she saw there was a lot of snow. Turning around she saw Natsu standing there with his hand up showing that he just threw something, and of course him laughing.

Lucy gave a small glare as she reached down and grabbed some snow and formed a snowball. "This is what you get you evil boyfriend!" Lcy shouted with a small smile as she threw the snowball and hit him right in the face. Natsu stood gaping at her for a moment before a wide smirk appeared. "I see you want to play, huh?" Natsu asked. Lucy let her eyes widen, "Wait- Natsu don't! I really like this outfit!" Lucy squeaked before she felt the snowball hit her. After that she released her small bit of anger and threw snowballs at him. Before they knew it a snowball fight had formed. After a solid 30 minutes they calmed down and sat on a bench. Somewhat out of breath Natsu spoke, "That was fun Luce." Lucy just nodded and giggled. After a few minutes they decided to head back to her apartment.

On the walk there they got distracted and started making little snow angles and a few other things. Once they arrived back at her apartment they stayed outside a little bit longer and made a snowman. Once they were done and had their hands completely freezing, they took a picture with them and the snowman then just a few with themselves. The last one was one that Lucy would definitely have to print though, since Natsu had kissed her on it and it came out so good. The rest of the night they spent watching movies, playing CLUE, Monopoly, and a few video games.
