Chapter 2-9
-Castle Krakenburg-
"How!?" King Garon roars, his clenched fist hitting the armrest of his throne. "What is this thing!?"
In front of him, a projection of the last moments of both behemoths he sent. The replay is frozen at the moment Kamui sliced through the first's torso, her face devoided of all emotion except for her eyes which shined in cold fury.
"What was she doing there of all places!?" The King stand up and starts ripping the banners in the room in anger. "This whore dares defy His plans!"
Iago stares at the king from next to the throne. He will never admit it but the lipstick wearing wizard is scared under his calm façade.
To his hidden relief, King Garon sighs, calming himself as he makes his way back to the throne, using a hand to rearrange his hair.
"My Lord, what must we do?" The King pleads, his gaze on the stone mask decorating the roof.
Garon closes his eyes and after a moment, he opens them with a crazy smile. "Yes! Of course! That idiot of a princess will be the key of our success!" He turns to Iago with a frown. "Notify the troup that war will soon be."
The wizard bows before exiting, glancing at the image of Kamui.
-Castle Shirasagi-
There is something truly magic with rain.
Not in a way where magical energy is involved.
It is just so relaxing to listen to the pitipat of rain on an umbrella.
That is the experience Kamui is living with her trusty umbrella.
The Spellblade stands barefoot on the wet grass, her eyes closed and her breathing slow. Her mind and body free from outside trouble.
It as been 30 minutes since she has left Kotai at the sliding door he broke.
A calm smile appear on her face as she recalls the glares he was receiving from the maids.
Her eyes gently open when a soft melody reach here acute hearing. Her head facing the direction of the songstress.
'What a relaxing melody' She thinks, her legs moving on their own.
She goes through the treeline and comes across a small lake, various plants and trees growing on the shore.
The source of the sweet melody is a blue haired girl clad in a wet white outfit. Light blue and golden decoration are scattered on the ensemble.
The bluette is already knee deep in the water and it does not seem like she will stop anytime soon.
Kamui approaches, her bare foot not making a sound as she walks on the water, her umbrella still shielding her body.
The blonde reaches her as her chin touches the water and uses wind magic to keep the umbrella floating in the air. Kamui kneels down and grab the bluette's armpits before lifting her body out of the water.
The songstress opens her eyes wide in shock, gasping then coughing as water gets in her throat. Kamui carries her in a hug, grabbing the umbrella and patting her back as she makes her way to the small dock.
Kamui puts her down gently in a sitting position the umbrella protecting the songstress more than the spellblade. "You know... out of all the ways of killing yourself, I do not think drowning is the most comfortable..." She smiles sadly, rain falling on her clothes.
The songstress and the spellblade stare at each other.
"I have a strong water affinity." Kamui catches her glancing down at her feet. "What's your name?"
"Azura." The bluette whispers, her golden orbs staring back calmly.
"Kamui, it is pleasure to make your acquaintance." She nods.
"You know, sometime... *sigh* sometime it seems like things are not going well... and they are not. But you have to continue and try to find a way to happiness, like... living a peaceful life in the countryside with an albino." She winks. "That's what I did."
They stay in silence while Azura processes the situation, the only sounds being the falling rain and the bluette's deep breathing. "I was not trying to end my life."
"Good." Kamui looks aside. "That song. Do you think you could sing it to me one of those days?"
*BRAM* *Shouting*
Kamui gives her umbrella to Azura as she stands up. "Go protect yourself, it will soon disappear."
Before Azura can say anything, Kamui uses a mana burst to propel herself forward, water flying everywhere.
*ROAR*
Kamui reaches the source of the commotion, startling the guard right next to her.
Part of the wall have been reduced to mere splinters, the wooden frame scattered on the ground.
In the middle of the field, a blue and silver creature attacks what closest to it.
"A dragon." Kamui frowns.
'That is not Kotai.'
"VRAM"
'That is Kotai' She thinks as another, slightly bigger, white and blue dragon slams into the other.
Kamui analyzes the situation. "Get the fuck out of here! What do you think you can do with your bloody toothpicks!?" She yells at the guards who are surrounding the two.
The guard right next to her glares at her. "You can not tell u-"
"Out." Her eyes shine for a fraction of a second.
The guard cowers from her stare, an unknown force pressing on his shoulder.
Kamui summons her armor and waits for the the silver dragon, which she deducted might be Corrin, to attack with her forelegs.
Right when Corrin prepares her assault by shifting her weight on her hind legs, Kamui appears out of thin air and round kicks one of them.
This makes the silver dragon fall on her side with a screech, Kotai seizing the occasion and grabing her neck and forelegs.
Kamui takes hold of one of the hind legs but this leaves the other one free.
She brings her arm up to defend herself from the kick Corrin is preparing.
*BAM*
Kamui feels her whole body shaking from the impact but thankfully no real damage.
*WOOSH*
She twist her body at the last moment, Corrins tail missing her back by mere centimeters.
The latter roars in frustration, purple smoke appearing all around her body.
"Oh shit!" Kotai's distorted voice rings in her ears. "She is going to shout!"
A black and red sphere appears between her outstretched jaws, gaining in volume each seconds.
The problem being:
-or she shouts upward and it goes right into Kotai
-or she shouts anywhere else and they risk casualties.
"Make her shout on me!" Kamui yells.
Kotai trusts her thinking and forces Corrin's head to face the spellblade.
Turquoise line cover Kamui as she glares at the attack. Time starts to slow as her mind thinks several time faster than usual. (If a Servant goes fast, the mind should follow too.) The beam of pure magical energy gets closer and closer, Kamui summoning reinforced shield to minimise the attack's power.
Then it hits.
Smoke surrounds her as she does not let go of the leg.
*ROAR*
A black, bag covered mass crashes next to them, a gigantic wyvern a size that was never seen before.
It enters the fray, making a beeline toward Kamui.
"Maria! Take the legs!" The blonde coughs. "Watch out!"
The wyvern roars as Corrin's tail rips off part of her wing. She bites into the tail and grabs the hind legs with her talons.
Kamui jumps on Maria's back and rumages through one of the bags, searching for something that might help Corrin calm down.
She walks from the back to the neck, trying her best not to lose her footing as Maria has to constantly move her wings to not fall over.
The spellblade feels her blood boil as she glares in the distance, a blue light having appeared. She extends her arms and, with an annoyed grunt, a wall of dirt rises from the ground, effectively blocking the attacks coming from that side.
Her search continues and she finally finds what she was looking for.
Maria almost falls after a sudden shift in Corrin's struggle, making Kamui let go of her findings.
"Fuck!" She jumps down, her eyes shining in the smoke as she reinforces them. She jumps and ducks around the giant limbs stuck in power struggles.
Her eyes lock into the object of her search, a rainbow gem laying between the cracks of the floor. As she approaches the stone as fast as possible, water covers the floor, hiding it from view.
'Really?'
The same song she heard just minutes ago rings in her ears, the water moving in sync with the melody.
If it were not for the two dragon and the wyvern playing wrestling, Kamui would have admired the show.
She jumps face first on the gem, grabbing it with both hand and running toward Corrin's tail. She covers the gem with the dragon's blood trickling down from where Maria is biting.
Feeling surprisingly tired, Kamui sighs, jumping on Corrin's body and dashing to her chest.
"What happened?" Kotai grunts.
"Maria is wounded! Won't she change back?" She yells in frustration, swatting water aside as she puts the stone against Corrin's chest.
Kotai looks down. "Be patient, I feel her anger subsiding." He then turns to Azura. "It might be because of her song, I feel relaxed somehow."
"Make sure nothing happen to her." Kamui tells him. "Now... the song."
Kamui, not knowing the lyrics, starts to hum the melody in tandem with the songstress. One of her hands keeping the gem in contact with Corrin torso, the other gently stroking the dragon.
The purple fume slowly dissipate, Corrin's breathing slowing down as her struggles subside. Purple energy cover her body as it gets smaller and smaller.
Kamui breathes deeply, taking several steps backward until she bumps into Maria's snout.
The wyvern whimpers, laying her head on the ground with her eyes closed.
"Oh god... I-I am going to take care of it, don't worry." The blonde strokes her snout shakily before hurrying to attend her wounds.
She tries to access her pockets but part of her armor has melted during the fight, blocking the way.
"Come ooon!" Kamui mutters through gritted teeth as she struggles to take her breastplate off.
She throws it away, along with her melted waist rings.
Sakura, who saw the wrestling happen from afar, came running all the way. "What can I do to help?" She asks, her sandals soaking in Maria's blood.
Kamui rips the buttons of her pocket and takes a notebook out. "Please just... take what was ripped off and... oh god... place it back as best as you can."
Sakura nods and takes the membrane up in her arms, Subaki helping her as he came just in time to hear what had to be done. "That is Maria?" She asks, the missing wing part hiding her.
Kamui rips one of the pages off and slams it on the membrane. "Yes." She closes her eyes, mumbling with a hand on the piece of paper. "Stay like that until the light disappears, please."
A glyph shines for a brief moment and the sides of the wing start to glow a green light.
The blonde sighs in relief and makes her way back to the front, kneeling in front of Maria. She lays her head on the wyvern's snout and rubs the sides with her hand, Maria purring at the touch. "I don't know what I would do without you."
Maria growls in short intervals. Something Kamui has learned was her way of laughing.
"You are such an idiot." Kamui smiles with a chuckle, the wyvern humming. "I told you to stay at home." Maria whimpers. "But... I am glad you are here." The blonde sighs, ignoring the chaos around her. "My giant idiot."
