'Come on come on HOLD IT !!'-Shinji Ikari thought as he looked at the RPM counter and then at the speedometer. It could probably be his 15th win in a row in the underground league . After 1,5 months in Tokyo 3 Shinji and his motorbike won the local competition . Shinji's ,Highway Star" persona was well known in the whole Japan as The Bōsōzoku News made its work of showing his skills behind the handlebars . It was known that a mix of purple and green was like if you would see a red german triplane during WW1 as a soldier for Triple Entente. Shinji focused every cell on his body as his mind only was thinking about one thing: ,Victory" . As Shinji saw nothing except a mountain road behind his lights he checked his rear mirrors . Just as always the rest was a 2 corners behind him as Shinji smirked and his SDAT music player started playing the track #13 of the Megamix #1 started playing

As Shinji's body was starting to give up he finally noticed his destination . As Shinji crossed the finish line he sighed, pressing the brakes and stopping at the side of the road. Before he could think about getting a drink his train of thought crashed with applause from the people running to him . Shinji always enjoyed the applause but he was too tired to even say a word so he just speeded off from the crowd to the nearest gas station as his fuel gauge was close to E. As he found the nearest ENOES the first thing Shinji wanted to do was get a can of frozen coffee . After fueling up both himself and his bike, Shinji felt like a reborn person . Shinji now wanted to get some sleep as he made his way back to Tokyo 3 . Since mountain passes and highways were disconnected from the main city by 10 to 20 kilometers . As Shinji calmly observed nature that was around the road his senses went up as he noticed a couple of motorcycles in his mirrors . Before he saw another group of bikers, Shinji prepared his pistol . 'trouble incoming'-Shinji thought as he stopped his bike and he noticed that the bikes were surrounding him . Shinji could notice that the people he will encounter will not be a friendly type . So he decided to play it cool
"Good evening gentlemen"-Shinji said before few men with their age between 20 to 25 surronded him
"You're racing on our turf 8th"-One of them said as Shinji analyzed what he said . Shinji knew that it's definitely a problem when he heard using the Neogoyan nickname . Since Neogoya was separated into 25 districts with completely different groups and societies, the numbers of the districts became nicknames to distinguish people associated with different groups . Since it was known that the ,Highway Star" was associated with The Capsules that was reigning over : 8th , 9th , 10th and 11th districts with influences in 15th and 17th and that the core of the gang was set in the 8th district the mark of an ,8th" was set on him . It didn't annoy him since he didn't remember anything pre Neogoya except his Mother and that he lived in the heart of the 8th district. So he was a full-blooded 8th . Shinji lit a cigarette and looked at the man that wanted to assert dominance
"Not my problem that the locals suck, besides there is no sign saying ,No Neogoyans allowed"-Shinji said as another one grabbed him by the collar
"Those passes and highways belong to Matsuo Yuu, you street rat . Go back to your shitstain of a city"- The man said as Shinji simply chuckled and looked at his feet , and then on the man that had supposedly high ground . 'alrighty then , hard way it is'-Shinji thought as he kicked his lampholder in his crotch before he could do something his face recieved a big punch that sended him back to the ground . Before one of them could make a move Shinji took out his pistol and shot up to the sky, shocking his opponents. Before they left one of them said "OH SHIT HE'S GOT A GUN !!" before they left . Shinji touched his right eye and looked at the mirror of his bike 'Shit , a black eye . Misato won't like this'-Shinji thought as he ignited his bike and rode back to the city. As Shinji entered the apartment he noticed Misato and Rei sitting on the couch both having worried expressions on their faces .
"Im home ?"-Shinji said as Misato got up from the couch death staring him and his black eye
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN !? WHAT HAPPENED !"-Misato screamed while holding his shoulders as Rei put her hands on her ears.
"Some guys attacked me , no big deal since there are no bullets in me . And the guy that sent those thugs will pay , but that's not important . Now i'm gonna make dinner"-Shinji said before Misato grabbed his arm
"You're gonna act like nothing happened ?!"-Misato said as Shinji gently removed her hand from his shoulder
"Yep , just another day in the life of Shinji Ikari"-Shinji said before going to the kitchen leaving Misato and Rei puzzled as he started making dinner thinking that he needs to get information about this ,Matsuo Yuu" fella . Shinji knew that it would be the first thing he would ask Kensuke tomorrow . After 5 hours of sleep Shinji finally was woken up by Rei . Shinji simply did what became his routine after he moved in with Misato . That means making breakfast and leaving it to Misato if she was sleeping off last night . After the sibling duo reached school they finally entered the classroom . As Shinji entered class 2-A the girls that unknowingly to him saw him as their crush rushed to them separating him from Rei as he was started getting bombarded by questions
"Ikari what happened to your eye ?"
"What happened to you ?"
"Did you get involved in a fight ?"
And other variants of variants of those questions were brought up that Shinji felt like it was shot at him like a machine gun and as he wanted to give the answer five more questions aroused . Shinji knew that this battle was lost so he just put his hand up to alarm Rei . Rei noticed that her brother was in trouble . Rei grabbed Shinji's hand and took him out of the crowd of girls . Before the crowd could complain the class started as Shinji finally got to his desk . It was just a regular lesson that in Shinji's mind ment ,50 minutes about Second Impact bullshit instead of the actual lesson'. Shinji just continued to scroll though 4Chan until he got a message from Kensuke
KENSUKE A : SO HOW REALLY DID YOU GET THAT BLACK EYE ?
SHINJI I : SOME IDIOTS ATTACKED ME YESTERDAY . I'M GONNA CATCH THE BASTARD
KENSUKE A : YOU GOT ANY TROPES ?

As Shinji sent that message he noticed that Kensuke went pale . Shinji stared at him for 5 minutes before he received a notification
KENSUKE A : HE IS THE BEST BIKER IN TOKYO 3 . HE WAS LONGER IN THIS BUSINESS THAN YOU . YOUR IN KNEE-DEEP TROUBLE IF HE SENDED SOME THUGS TO GET YOU
Kensuke typed as Shinji just smirked looking at the chat 'he wants to play rough , so he got the HS moving'-Shinji thought as he started typing
SHINJI I : WELL THEN , HE WILL PAY
KENSUKE A : ARE YOU CRAZY ?! YOU WANT TO CHALLENGE HIM ? I DON'T THINK YOU COULDN'T WIN AGAINST HIM BUT IT CAN END WAY WORSE FOR YOU !

Shinji typed as he remembered how it worked in Neogoya . Going after you, going after your family . Even if Section 2 was keeping the pilots safe Shinji knew that even the best security can be walked around easily . The images of beaten up Rei with bruises cuts and attempts at sexual harassment made Shinji clutch his fist . Even if he knew his sister for a short period of time he grew attached to her . He would kill anyone that would put at least a finger when she didn't want to

Shinji thought about this . It would be great if Aimi had finally met Rei. Rest of the day came and went as always . After the final bell Shinji changed to his biker clothes as he and Rei made their way to their meeting spot . As they finally reached the park Shinji parked his bike in the parking spot and took out the ticket from the parking meter . After he reached the ice cream spot he noticed Toji Kensuke Aimi Sakura and the class representative Hikari sitting at the table . Before Shinji could say hi Aimi and Sakura dashed at him hugging him tightly before Aimi noticed the blackeye on Shinji's face
"What happened to your eye Shinji ?"-Aimi asked as she touched Shinji's eye
"I runned up to some trouble again"-Shinji said as he ordered his and Rei's ice cream
"They don't know that you're the pilot ? They should be glad and not attacking you"-Sakura said as Shinji ruffled her hair
"Some people just don't get it Sakura , this just a normal evening of an 8th"-Shinji said as Aimi looked at him with annoyed expression and putted her hands on her hips
"Were not in Neogoya anymore Shinji , we are not divided by numbers anymore"-Aimi said as Shinji took another lick of his ice cream
"Numbers ?"- puzzled Hikari asked as Shinji and Aimi looked at her
"We are from the same ghetto , the 8th one . I know Aimi since she was born"-Shinji said as Aimi looked at him
"Shinji is still attached to his number , kinda like most of us"-Aimi said as Shinji nodded to Aimi
"You had a tough childhood , both of you"-Hikari said as Shinji just smirked and looked at sad Aimi and put a finger on her mouth lifting it up
"Well enough of remembering the past bullshit , now you can finally meet Rei"-Shinji said as he took Rei's hand and got her in front of Aimi . The 9-year old look excited as she shook her hand with Rei's
"Aimi Hiei"-The girl introduced herself as Rei shook her hand as her brother taught her
"Ayanami Rei"-Rei said as she let go of Aimi's hand . As Aimi stared her down she noticed the similarities to Shinji .
"You look just like him , you just have a switched color palette. Probably from your father since your half siblings"-Aimi said as Rei looked at her brother and then at her reflection in the nearest window .
"Your right"-Rei said as she gave a puzzled look at her brother as Shinji gave her a 'be yourself' look . As Shinji observed his younger sister and his younger sister-figure chatting and eating ice cream he could feel his insides going soft . Meanwhile Shinji lit up a cigarette and lean up on his chair as the school trio observed him
"You shouldnt be smoking that much"-Toji said as Shinji looked at him with a confused expression
"Suzuhara is right, Ikari , this amount of smoking can get you lung cancer"-Hikari said as Shinji just looked at them before he threw out the burned cigarette .
"LCL purifies my lungs every time I get in the Eva . Before lung cancer will kill me an Angel will probably do it faster"-Shinji said as he could feel two 9-year old hands grabbing his own and one 14-year old hand touching his shoulder
"Those monsters won't kill you , you're the best !"-Sakura said as she stared down Shinji
"And if the 9 years of knowing you give me enough proof that Sakura is right"-Aimi said as she also stared at him down with a look 'Don't die Shinji'. Before Rei took her voice
"He will not die , because i will protect him"-Rei said as Shinji started thinking that Rei is just like him if his innocence was not taken away by the harsh reality of Neogoyan streets. And that under the pile of drugs that his Father and Doctor Akagi were giving to her was a little girl that needed guidance . Even if Shinji was FAR FROM being a role model he at least picked up the glove to show Rei the world he never experienced . A safe one where her only worries are her grades and typical school life . Not the problems he experienced like paying the bills or simply living to the next day . It wasn't a problem for Shinji since he always believed that anywhere you could build your own little paradise . And after the misadventure with AKIRA Shinji lived with that rule trying to live as fast as he can . This was his recipe for his paradise , pure speed. That and standing on this thin line between life and death was something that always got him going through his daily life after going without a guardian for a year . And it hasn't changed after he moved to Tokyo 3 . Except that Yakuza work was changed for piloting the Eva . Shinji enjoyed piloting his ,one-chan" since it fit his philosophy of life and that he felt like he was protected by it. As Shinji observed the group he was sitting with he noticed that except Aimi they never experienced something like him . They were from a completely different society that was working on a different set of rules . Before looking at his only biological family that he counted as eating ice cream thinking about her
'Rei is so innocent , but street rules are the same everywhere . I will stop that Yuu fella before he will catch on to you
A/N : So another arc finished and the 2-part Ramiel finale is coming. And that Matsuo Yuu is also my oc . Since the arc after Ramiel will be the last one before Asuka, I want to go full on with the finale of the pre-Asuka part of this story . And also i want to tease some of Shinji's ,private eye" skills . So the Post-Ramiel arc will be stretched out from 3 to 4 chapters . And the next chapter will be from Rei's POV . Also the idea behind the naming system also came from Akira . Its based on the idea of numbering the child espers (26 ,27 ,28 ,48 etc) . Also adding some of the classes system from other works
