Let me take you back; turn back the hands of time...
Great Lakes City and the apartment home of the Casagrande family; Sid Chang was there with her best friend Ronnie Anne Santiago along with Ronnie Anne's family members at the time when Ronnie Annie got the email message on her phone and they excitedly circled around her as she read it out. The message was from the Canadian reality TV series Total Drama Island and Ronnie Anne had signed up for a chance to be one of the few American contestants on the show along with her boyfriend Lincoln. Her face fell as it was clear that it was a rejection letter; "We thank you for your submission Ms Santiago but we regret to inform you that you are not what we are looking for. Best wishes in your future pursuits... Chris McLean..." Ronnie Anne finished as the excited atmosphere went down as Ronnie Anne sulked and most of the family went to comfort her.
"Cheer up Ronalda; you gave it a go and there would have to be hundreds of teens at least in the country trying to get the fewer spots on the show than there would be for the native Canadian contestants..." Maria Casagrande told her daughter gently.
"Yeah and besides; this means that there is more time to have fun here than spending all those weeks with a bunch of strangers who would be more than likely to backstab you than befriend you." Sid told Ronnie Anne trying to lift her spirits.
"...We can get our deposit back from these right..." Carl asked as he and Sergio had decided to have boxes of 'RONNIE ANNE - FUTURE TDI CHAMP' shirts made to sell once Ronnie Anne was on the show; not really thinking ahead about if Ronnie Anne failed to make it on the show. Plus no one knew how they got the money to make it this far in their scheme; after these years Carl was still the money making schemer and plus still as much in love with Lori.
The fact that Lori was married to his Primo and pregnant with their first child not doing much to change that. Lori had to deal with whenever Carl sent flowers to the apartment room that she now lived with Bobby.
Speaking of Lori; the Loud family came over and were staying in the city for the time being. They were there to give their apologies to Ronnie Anne over this rejection of what was a longshot anyway. "We both know that it was just wishful thinking that either of us would get accepted anyway..." Lincoln told his girlfriend after a hug and Ronnie Anne smiled as she playfully bashed him on the arm and thanked him with the Lame-O nickname which made him uncomfortable.
It was a little later when Lincoln decided to volunteer to help Carlos with something related to an upcoming lecture for a lecture while Frida was working on her latest painting in the living room. "Just want to check my emails for a minute..." Lincoln asked Carlos once they were almost done and gasped out loud. "It's... From the Total Drama show..." Lincoln said freaking out and ended up dropping his phone as if he was scared of the message and this got the attention of both families as they gathered together to hear the news.
Sid was standing next to Ronnie Anne as they were discussing Ronnie Anne's now guaranteed freed schedule as Lincoln had his family encourage him to open it up but he gulped. Carlos ended up picking it up to read it for him. "Mr Loud; we thank you for your application and and I have to say that we have had hundreds of hopeful applicants who showed some promise but we have had to turn down..." Carlos began and Lincoln just shrugged his shoulders expecting this rejection as the Loud siblings thought that it would be Lincoln's turn to be consoled.
Ronnie Anne was walking over to Lincoln to console him when...
"...Don't worry about them too much; just bask in the glory of the knowledge that you are now better than all those other losers. Congratulations Lincoln on being our sole American contestant on Total Drama Island! Please contact us with your further acceptance and to arrange travel arrangements; from your buddy and future host Chris McLean." Carlos finished as everyone stood frozen.
The Loud siblings got over their shock first followed by their parents as they excited embraced their brother as it was taking time for him to register as the Casagrandes and Sid got excited for Lincoln as well; except for Ronnie Anne who was shocked and Carl who was busy talking with Sergio to see about having Ronnie Anne's name on the shirts replaced with Lincoln's.
"Can you believe it Ronnie Anne? I actually got in; I am so going to miss you but I will be sure to give a shout out to you on when I get on the show..." Lincoln said excitedly embracing her but she ended up pushing him back.
"Don't tell me that you are going to go ahead with this?" Ronnie Anne as Lincoln confused tried to remind them of the pact that they made and it soon turned into a big whole argument. Most of the family members tried to be peacemakers but Lori and Lola certainly didn't help as they clearly took Ronnie Anne's side.
Sid was there trying to help drag Ronnie Anne away from Lincoln as Ronnie Anne got loose and ended up breaking up with Lincoln right there and then as she stormed off to her room. Lori chided Lincoln ruthlessly asking to look at what he did with their parents trying to tell Lori to stop since she wasn't helping and Lincoln ended up leaving the apartment wanting air.
"Lori; what was that? You go off on Lincoln for Ronnie Anne overreacting when they made that pact together? Shouldn't you be happy for Lincoln like Ronnie Anne should be?" Bobby asked with Lori speechless for a minute once she realised that her husband was taking Lincoln's side over his own sisters and that led to an argument and contrary to what the Louds thought would happen if they ended up fighting; Bobby wasn't backing down.
Things calmed down but the teenage couple stayed broke up and weren't on speaking terms; the Casagrandes not thrilled with Ronnie Anne's tantrum but she refused to even discuss Lincoln.
The time came for the Total Drama Island show to start airing weekly and Sid and younger sister Adelaide would come over to watch with the Casagrandes; Ronnie Anne actually did show up to watch with them even silently. Maria and the Casagrandes had hope that Ronnie Anne would calm down and start to support her ex-boyfriend as they were.
During the first episode they were weirded out by the Dawn girl and the Chang sisters to the Casagrandes amusement were fawning over Justin. Plus upon seeing Lincoln volunteer for the big drop off the clip they were stunned and terrified; "Don't you dare..." Ronnie Anne shouted as she fought through her emotions to admit that she didn't want to see him killed by sharks after jumping off a tall cliff. Thankfully Lincoln got through okay and then there was the rest of the show.
The Chang sisters ended up becoming silent Dawncoln sisters and so were the other Casagrande members even if they did wish that Lincoln and Ronnie Anne could have sorted through what had happened. Adelaide was supporting them together even if she was a bit jealous of Dawn; Sid thought it adorable when Adelaide gained a crush on Lincoln and would find excuses to want to join in on any activities that Lincoln was doing whenever he was in the city.
Then the episode where Lincoln and Dawn ended up together with the family happy for him; They watched nervously as after the episode Ronnie Anne got up to go to her room. "Are you alright Hermana..." Bobby hesitatingly asked.
"Good for Lame-O; things didn't work out between us so he found some Canadian hippie chick instead." Ronnie Anne said simply as she got to her bed and looked to her messages from her emails and social media: from obsessed TDI fans who tracked her down after remembering that Lincoln told DJ about his girlfriend breaking up with him in the 2nd episode. All those hateful messages from trolls who thought that she was a possible opponent to their Dawncoln ship. This episode caused more to gain with some messages titled 'Your loss, Dawn's gain!'.
Ronnie Anne furiously threw her phone onto the bedside table as she had tears in her eyes angry at Lincoln; "At least Lincoln has a new girlfriend who will no doubt treat him better than I did..." Ronnie Anne thought for a second; a part of her that knew that she was to blame for how things ended between them and knowing how good Lincoln and Dawn were for eachother.
Lincoln's letter is inspired by Marge's bake off letter in the Simpsons episode All's Fair in Oven War; it would totally be in character for Chris to frame an acceptance letter this way. The opening line was inspired by the theme song of the old WWE tag team Deuce N Domino. Some inspiration also from what I think was a PM message or a review that was there before I got the reviewer blocked; about Ronnie Anne's reaction from the internet as some horrible internet bullies and trolls have unfairly gone after people and I know fans of reality TV can get vicious. Heck even outside reality TV; those that ship real life people and actors that go after actual loved ones of the people. The Tom Holland and Zendaya shippers that actually went after Tom's then girlfriend and the people that would do that deserve nothing but scorn. So yeah nothing about what Ronnie Anne is going through from these trolls are okay.
Plus I apologised for not knowing how to write most of the Casagrandes cast as nothing against the show despite not being a fan of Ronnie Anne in the original Loud House show; I just isn't as interested in the show and haven't seen that many episodes. Mostly Carl episodes I have seen.
