Chapter 15 : Israfel part 2 : Both of you, Dance Like You Want to Win!

"What an embarrassment"-That was the comment of the lead scientist of Project E Ritsuko Akagi , it has been over 2 hours after the battle with Israfel . Where the two pilots were focused more on their own fight than on their target . Shinji and Asuka were sitting in the conference room as they watched the footage and photos of their fight . That as the pilots remember failed , but according to which someone would ask was the other's fault . Asuka slowly got up from her chair

"It's your fault that I lost my debut battle overseas, you idiot !'-Asuka screamed as Shinji got up

"If it wasn't for your bitching and if we did what we had to do , Israfel would be a glowing cross right now ! But no you had to be a cunt like you are and didn't make sure that it was dead !"-Shinji screamed as their conversation could be probably heard across the whole Geofront

"DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU'RE TALKING TO IKARI !? I WAS TRAINING MY WHOLE LIFE FOR THAT , AND YOU JUST CAME ALONG !"

"AND I RECEIVED A SCHOOL OF LIFE , NOT TO MENTION I HAD OTHER PROBLEMS ! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD I WOULD PREFER IF REI RECIEVED UNIT-02 !"-Shinji screamed in a way to pierce Asuka's soul . And that cracked one of the walls inside her , he didn't want her by his side , he wanted to replace her . He hated her. Asuka somehow maintained a straight face and kept on shooting arguments at him as Shinji counterattacked them . And so the next minute passed as the two teens were blasting curses and insults at each other.

"Listen to me ! Do you know what your job is ?"-Sub commander Fuyutsuki asked as he looked upon the pilots

"To pilot the Evas !"-Asuka said

"Wrong"-Fuyutsuki replied as Shinji had the answer

"Save the world from the Angels."-Shinji replied with a thought 'and my freedom , according to Misato I was close to a suspended sentence , and as long as I am with NERV I'm clean . Jesus christ this is exactly Galvion'-Shinji finished his inner monologue

"You are correct Third Child , you need to set out your differences and work together"-Fuyutsuki replied as the two pilots again started to throw insults at each other , Fuyutsuki descended down with his elevator , Kaji meanwhile observed the two teens thinking how to get them to work together . He knew that they were from two different environments . The years he spent with Asuka and a year of tracking and observing Shinji taught him how both worked . Asuka was from a rich family living in a good neighborhood , and after moving to EURONERV she was treated like a princess and everywhere she went she had a section 2 backup . Always working alone and being self sufficient , but with terrible navigation and field reconnaissance. Shinji on the other hand grew up in a flat within a ghetto for those that were Impact survivors or simply people living way below the poverty line than everyone else. Shinji was a vice-leader of the biker gang which meant he was an excellent team player , not only that but he was a master of parkour and could navigate across the rooftops and streets with ease, but also he had more experience with a pistol than Asuka since instead of target shields he had moving targets called "Humans'' . 'Damn kiddos , if we want to kill that angel we need a plan , and i think i know what to do' Kaji thought as his mind formed a plan and left the conference room. As hours passed Kaji finally finished the whole plan and put it on a meanwhile was sitting in her office with a ton of papers in front of her with Ritsuko standing beside her

"Those are reports and complaints from various agencies involved, also bills from the UN, you need to check everything"-Ritsuko said as Misato just sighed

"I know what they wrote , "If you wanna fight, do it in Tokyo 3" . Can they see that we are saving the world here ?!"-Misato said

"Well i could've been worse , if it was Neogoya you would have to spend a week or something to write off those big companies , not to mention"-Ritsuko was cutted off by Misato

"WILLE i know , and i can understand them , we still haven't cleaned up the mess after Ramiel , and we are gonna kill Israfel no matter the cost"-Misato finished

"Sub-commander is pissed , he will degrade you if you will pull off a stunt like that again , and you should be lucky that Commander Ikari is not around , you would already be searching for a new job"-Ritsuko said as Misato's face showed a frown

"And you probably have hundreds of Ideas how to save my skin !"-Misato said enthusiastically as Ritsuko handed her a NERV pendrive

"Thank you doc ! It's so good to have such a friend !"-Misato said as she tried to take the pendrive before Ritsuko took it away from her

"Kaji's Idea actually"-Ritsuko said as she handed the pendrive with the writing "TO MY BELOVED". Shinji meanwhile was speeding across the afternoon Tokyo 3 as he was testing the new discs he bought . As minutes passed Shinji noticed a DHL truck making its way on the street . Before Shinji overtook it he decided to go home . Apparently Misato made a plan to kill the Angel. Shinji parked his bike and made his way to the apartment

"Tadaima , well what to make for di-wait , what are those 5 boxes doing here ?"-Shinji thought as his mind finally made connections 'DHL is a German shipping company , GERMAN . OH HELL NO!'-Shinji wrapped his mind monologue as he knew what that probably meant . Asuka was moving in with them . If Shinji was thinking with his crotch he would probably be excited as well as his "Fantasies" would receive some fuel to think that his crush would be sleeping in the room next to him . But from his pilot perspective he thought of it as a terrible idea . She would just brag and brag AND BRAG. Shinji took off his shoes and made his way to the living room . And noticed Misato and Asuka sitting at the table

"There is our ace , took you long enough"-Asuka said with a sarcastic tone as Shinji sat on the chair

"Ok Misato tell me what this "Great plan" is ? What super weapon are we using now ?"-Shinji asked

"And can we determine when Ikari is moving out ?"-Asuka asked as Shinji was fighting with an urge to choke her right on spot

"No one is moving out . In order to kill Israfel you need to be fully synchronized . That means you will have to cooperate perfectly . From now you will do everything together, that means you will have to share this apartment"-Misato said in her formal "Captain manner"

"WHAT ?! Boys and girls shouldn't be living under the same roof after the age of 7 !"-Asuka screamed in a manner that caught Rei's attention who left her room only wearing her VR46 t-shirt

"I was living with my brother for months now and nothing happened"-Rei said as the rest of the people in the room freaked out

"REI ?! WHAT I TOLD ABOUT SCARING PEOPLE !"-Shinji screamed as Rei looked upon her door

"I only left my room"-Rei said as she looked upon her brother

"Well you should do something about your way of movement, Rei , and what is that rag you are wearing ?! Tomorrow we will get you some nice clothes !"-Asuka said proudly as Rei just stared her down 'but i like it'-Rei thought

"That's also a no , like I said you will have to do everything together . And that means no motorbike for you Shinji , you will spend next six days training choreography to this song , when you will reach 100 % we will have our chance"-Misato said as he held a cassette tape in her hand

"Gimme that"-Shinji said as he put the tape in his SDAT and pressed the play button . And after 25 seconds Shinji took his headphones out with visible disgust . It was his greatest music enemy , CLASSICAL MUSIC. According to Shinji it was music for "Ties and upstart trash" . Also according to Shinji's uncle his mother was a great Cello player but thanks to years on the streets Shinji had his opinion deeply implanted in his mind.

"Eww , classical music"-Shinji said as handed the tape back to Misato

"THIS PLAN SUCKS ! I WILL NOT PARTICIPATE IN YOUR STUPID PLAN !"-Asuka screamed as Shinji put his fingers in his ears

"Kaji's plan actually"-Misato said as her face showed a smug grin in contrast to Asuka's confusement

"Wha ?"-Asuka tried to ask as Shinji's mind began another monologue 'This will be the longest 6 days of my life'

"We will start tomorrow morning , now Shin-chan ? What is for dinner ?"-Misato asked as her tone shifted from "The world is about to end and it's up to you to save it" to "Anyways I'm hungry and I need a beer" . Shinji simply sighed and got himself to the kitchen to begin cooking. After an hour of dinner it was decided that Shinji will move inside Rei's old closet and Asuka and Rei will take Shinji's old room . Shinji wasn't really in a mood to fight Asuka so he accepted it . And after showering in cold water because Asuka used the hot one . Shinji was now laying in his new bed thinking about what awaits him tomorrow 'Well either its working with her or everyone will die'-Half of Shinji's mind said 'And It's not because you have a giant crush on her and you just let your emotions take over you and you want to insert your pe'-Shinji's other half was cut off by Shinji's 'common sense' 'well it will take some time to fix our relationship , but it's worth a shot'-Shinji thought as he drifted off to slumber

2 DAYS LATER

"What do you think is going on with Shinji ?"-Toji asked his companion Kensuke Aida as both they alongside Aimi and Sakura made their way with the elevator to Shinji's floor

"He didn't showed up for the 3rd day"-Kensuke said as he checked his phone that was showing Shinji's missed calls

"Maybe he is working on a new project ? Few years ago he disappeared for almost a week and worked on a new fuel mixture. He returned with burns and bandages all over but he rushed into my brother's room screaming "TAKURO I FINALLY DID IT !" holding paper with proportions"-Aimi said as she chuckled

"I just hope that nothing happened to him , maybe he hit his head during riding his bike ?"-Sakura asked as she looked upon the cardboard box that Aimi was holding in her hands

"And that's why we made this , i started working on this bad boy for a few months now , but thanks to Kensuke i finally finished the mechanism"-Aimi said as the elevator finally reached their destination floor . As they got out they noticed the Class Representative Hikari coming out of the second elevator

"Class Rep"-Toji said surprised to see Hikari

"Dumb , Dumber , Aimi and Sakura-Chan"-Hikari anwsered as she was puzzled why they were here

"So what are you doing here Class Rep ?"-Kensuke asked

"I came to see Asuka and Rei . What about you ?"-Hikari asked

"We came to see Shinji , he disappeared from the face of the earth and doesn't answer calls"-Aimi said as both the group and Hikari stopped by the same door

"Are you sure this is the right door ?"-Toji asked

"This is the address that Asuka gave me"-Hikari replied as she pressed the bell button , and just as they could think what's going on Shinji and Asuka opened the door both wearing black skin tight uniforms and shirts with musical notes printed on them. Pink for Asuka and blue for Shinji

"You , you betrayed us"-Kensuke said as he looked upon the pilot duo

"IT'S NOT LIKE THAT , IT'S PART OF OUR TRAINING ! WE HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING TOGETHER !"-Both of them replied

"SHAME ON YOU BOTH ! Don't tell you're even sleeping together !"-Hikari asked as Shinji and Asuka blushed

"A BOY AND A GIRL !? TOGETHER ?! SIN ! YOU ARE LIVING IN A SIN !"-Hikari screamed

"God is dead !"-Shinji broke the sync

"Oh hello !"-Misato replied as both she and Rei returned to the apartment

"Do you mind explaining what's going on here ?"-Toji asked

"Mind if we enter the apartment first ?"-Misato asked as the group entered the apartment . And Misato spent the next hour trying to explain what the training was about meanwhile numerous Error sounds could be heard as Shinji and Asuka tried to do the dance with the word "Try" being put in quotations

"THIS IS STUPID ! STUPID ! STUPID ! STUPID ! I'M NOT DOING THIS ANYMORE !"-Asuka screamed as threw away her headphones. Shinji sighed and simply sat on his matt

"If you could be fast enough maybe we would pass 20 %"-Shinji said 'or maybe because you want to look at her curvy body ?, fucking perv'-Shinji mind asked as his demisexuality started to question itself

"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN !? IT'S YOUR FAULT THAT I CAN'T KEEP UP WITH YOU !"-Asuka screamed at him as Shinji's mind was desperate for two things . A cigarette and his bike.

"Does this mean you're bailing out ?"-Misato asked

"And who will replace me ?"-Asuka asked as she proudly put her hands on her hips and smirked

"Rei , try"-Misato said as she proudly grinned , Rei put on the headphones and started the dance sequence , and so the siblings slowly but steadily did the dance sequence . Asuka meanwhile watched as her pride started to show cracks 'no no NO ! '-Asuka's mind screamed as tears formed in her eyes

"Fuck this im leaving !"-Asuka screamed as she stormed out of the apartment

"Asuka ! IKARI GO AFTER HER !"-Hikari screamed

"Well , I miss the part where that's my problem ?"-Shinji said as his mind said 'Wow , and you want to fix your relationship with her ? Great !'

"YOU MADE HER CRY ! NOW GO APOLOGISE !"-Hikari screamed as Shinji insticly tried to grab a non-existent pistol

"And why should I care ? Its her fault that she views Eva as the only thing in life"-Shinji asked as his mind took its voice again 'You're doing such a good job, not to remind you that your racing career was the only worthy thing you had before coming here'

SLAP

Shinji touched his scarred cheek as Hikari finally putted down her hand

"Shinji , just go"-Aimi said as Shinji didn't want to break Aimi's heart and slipped on his shoes and made his way to the grocery store that was next to the apartment building . Shinji noticed Asuka crouching next to the fridge

"Don't say anything , what ,you came to call me a cunt again ?"-Asuka asked as Shinji crouched beside her

"That was not my motive"-Shinji sat next to her

"Piloting the Eva is my whole life , I'll get through this"-Asuka said as she got up back on her legs and took her bag with Shinji following her

"I'll show Misato that she was wrong ! They hurt my"-Asuka was cutted off

"They hurt my pride , I know something about it . I also didn't have anything before coming here except for my bike . And even if I hate this city I still want to pilot the Eva to show not only my bastard father . But also Rei Misato and my friends back home that we are not just human trash and we can be something greater. I'm sorry for calling you a cunt . I simply let my emotions overtake me . Im so fucking pathetic"-Shinji said as he threw off the burnt cigarette of the rooftop. Asuka meanwhile was stunned as she looked upon the scarred boy . He could say sorry ?! And admit that he was wrong ? That was something new .

"Yeah , but you're technically right . If i checked if it was dead we wouldn't be in this situation , but there is another question i want to ask you ? Do you hate me ?"-Asuka asked as Shinji took his eyes of her and looked on the ground behind the guardrail

"I don't hate you Asuka , I was simply pissed off at you . There is a big difference between being angry at someone and hating them . And i'm also sorry for touching your pride , i met a lot of people like that and i should know that it was the case with you , and another point to the "pathetic" carter"-Shinji said as he sighed and looked on the ground. Asuka meanwhile sipped her drink as she curiously looked upon her roommate . Shinji just threw everything at her as she continued to think about it 'Well you're not as heartless as i thought. Not to mention that you at least take the responsibility for your actions and don't run away like a brat , and you deserve a little award for that Shinji'-Asuka thought as she gently patted Shinji's head

"Well we should bury the war axe Shinji . It's about world safety after all , and my pride of course ! So , partners ?"-Asuka asked as shot a grin at Shinji

"Partners"-Shinji responded as he shaked Asuka's hand before they made their way back to the apartment . Asuka and Shinji entered the apartment only inhabitants to be found were Misato and Rei with a cardboard box that Aimi left

"Before you return to training , Aimi-chan told me to ask you to open the box"-Misato said as Shinji did what she asked. And inside the box was a carbon bike helmet hydrographed to resemble Shinji's bike with the Highway star on the right side . As Shinji put it on his head he noticed there was no visor. Before Shinji noticed a button under the chin . As he pressed it the visor slided on from the helmet as Shinji took it down

"Thanks Aimi , but now we have to dance to save the world"-Shinji said as he and Asuka made their way to the machine and put on their headphones . And so the next two days passed as Shinji and Asuka devoted all of their time to their sync training . Just as day 5 wrapped up, Shinji was lying in his bed next to Asuka and Misato's beds until a message showed on his phone . Those were cords for a race . Shinji silently got up and dressed in his bike clothes so he would not wake up the rest of the inhabitants of the apartment . Just as he wanted to leave he heard a voice behind him

"Where do you think you're going Shinji ?"

A/N : It's like I die and resurrect every time I post a new chapter , anyways the of the Israfel arc is wrapped up and we get our first true Asushin moment. But i did pass my driving test so at least i spent the last 22 days productively
