Jenny is sitting in her room, listening to someone one the phone. "Uh-huh? Uh-huh, uh-huh. Uh-huh? Uh-huh?" She gives a small frown as she continues listening. "Uh-huh...uh-huh," She lays on her pillow in dismay. "Thanks, anyway," She makes her phone go away, disheartened.
Tuck appears at her window, peeking in. "What up, Jenny?"
"I'm trying to find a date for the big drive-in movie," She explains to him.
"What movie?" He asks curiously.
"Blood-Sucking Alien Zombies Incorporated!" Her eyes swirl around and Tuck screams in horror from the name. "It's so scary, they're not letting you in unless you have a date."
"Someone to call the morgue if you die from fright?" Tuck questions knowingly and Jenny holds up a finger.
"Exactly." He jumps down from the window to land inside her room. "But every datable guy is already taken. Looks like I'll have to settle for Brad again..." She laments, placing her hands on her cheeks.
"Settle?!" They look to Brad, who's leaning on her doorway and had heard everything. "What's that supposed to mean?" He demands as Amy rubs her neck.
"I just...I just meant-"
"Meant what? Brad's not dateable?" He approaches them both, annoyed. "Brad's a loser? Brad couldn't get a date if he were rich, handsome, and the last man on Planet Earth?" He clenches his fists as he looks at them in anger.
"You just had to say that..." Amy drags a hand down her face.
Jenny stands up, giving a nervous smile. "I just meant we could go together if I couldn't find anyone else."
He gets into her face, Tuck and Amy looking between the two. "Don't you mean anyone better?" He turns away, crossing his arms.
"No, I-"
"You must be pretty desperate," He interrupts his friend, and then she gets defensive.
"Look who's talking," She rubs her chin as she looks up. "I heard Kiki dumped you for Don Prima."
"Hey, I dumped her," Brad argues back, Amy slowly pulling Tuck away from them.
"Was that before or after you got down on your knees and begged her to go to the movie with you?" Jenny retorts, causing Tuck to gasp. He takes out a notebook and pencil.
"Juicy..."
"Well, at least I have options. Anyway, who says I'd settle for you? I already have a date," He jerks a thumb to himself, smiling widely and gesturing to Amy. "Amy herself," He grabs her hand, kissing it and she jerks it away from him in shock.
"Ew! No offense, but you're like a brother to me. I don't wanna go on a date with you. And don't ever do that again."
Jenny and Tuck look shocked at their interaction before Jenny drops it, placing her hands on her hips.
"If not her, then who?" She demands as Tuck is writing this down.
"That's for me to know and you never to find out!" He boasts to them all, walking past Amy. "That is, unless you find a date, which I doubt!" He laughs and she glares at him angrily. They hear him close the door to her house and she looks out the window as he walks away.
"I demand to know the name of your date!"
"Over my dead body!" He calls out while not even looking back.
"Don't give me any ideas!" She slams the window shut, turning around to Amy and gripping her shoulders. "Amy, you've known him longer than I have. Who is it?!" She shakes the girl, and she slaps the robot in return.
"Jen! Let it go, if he's not gonna tell you, he won't say anything to anyone, let alone me. I wouldn't know who he has for a date, especially since for a time we weren't friends," She rolls her eyes to the back of her head. She doesn't want to get involved in their pettiness...
"You know, Jenny, I just happen to be free tonight," Tuck gestures to himself as the robot storms past and then slams the door shut to her room. "...Do you have a date tonight, Amy?"
"Huh? Oh, no, I'm not going. Someone's gotta watch Piri tonight, both Claudia and Emily got dates. Piri said she had a date and my parents won't let her go, so I have to babysit."
Tuck blinks in confusion as he wonders how Piri even managed to get a date...
Jenny storms into the kitchen, her mother reading the newspaper. She sits down in a chair and silently sips her oil can. Nora looks up as she hears Jenny sip the almost empty can. "Something troubling you, XJ9-"
"I can't find a date for the movie!" Jenny exclaims, still annoyed by Brad earlier. "But somehow Brad found one! And now he's keeping the whole thing a secret! I wish there was some way I could see who he's taking to the drive-in tonight," She grips the can.
"Sounds like a job for my future-scope," Nora casually remarks as she looks back at her paper, Jenny so shocked that she drops the can. She stands up eagerly, placing her hands on the table.
"Future-scope? What's that?"
She quickly turns her back to Jenny. "Never mind, it doesn't exist," She then waves a finger in front of Jenny. "And you are not to go near it! Besides, it's locked in a high-security, underground vault."
Jenny looks away casually. "So...this underground vault, where would that be exactly?" She rubs her chin, holding up her hands. "Just so I can be sure to avoid it."
"Down in the basement, naturally," She answers and Jenny is heard running away afterwards. "...Silly girl."
"Hi, I know you don't know me," Brad is at home, frantically calling girls as he doesn't actually have a date, he just bragged that so he could make Jenny mad. "But would you be my date for the—hello?" He looks confused as he got dial tone, meaning the girl hung up. "Hello?" He sighs as he sags his shoulders. He looks at all the numbers he's called so far, including Amy's, and crosses out the last name in the phone book. "If I can't find a date, Jenny and Ames will never let me hear the end of it," He tosses the phone book...which looses a screw that makes his whole shelf fall apart. He looks at the objects in dismay and then smiles as he gets an idea.
Jenny looks through the basement while on the phone with Amy. "Future-scope? I don't think you should be messing with that thing. Knowing about the future usually ends up bad."
"Bad how?" The robot raises a brow, using the other hand as a flashlight.
"Like...I don't know, some time paradox thing or something...or at least something similar, but I know what I'm talking about. It's never a good idea."
"But if I don't use it, I won't know about Brad's date!" Jenny whines and Amy rolls her eyes.
"Is it really the end of the world if you don't know who his date is at this point? I mean, sure, I'm interested too, but we can't pester him forever."
"Well, it doesn't matter. I'm gonna do it anyway," Jenny remarks and Amy scoffs while the robot looks around.
"All this over wondering his date is..."
Jenny finds the underground vault. "Oh, right. That thing," She smiles as she's seen it before. Suddenly Tuck pops in out of nowhere, waving a hand.
"Hey, Jenny!"
She screams in terror and Amy blinks, standing up. "Jen?! What is it, do I need to come down there?!"
"No, I'm fine, you don't need to do the thing. It's just Tuck," Jenny grunts a bit, confusing the brunette.
"Tuck?"
"Whatcha doin' down here?" He asks, even though she should be asking him that question.
"Tuck, I'm on a top-secret mission," She glares, a hand on her hip. "One that'll take all my skill and cunning to accomplish. I gotta go, I'll talk to you after I find it," She then hangs up with Amy, who just sighs at the phone.
"The things she does for this kind of stuff..." She sighs wearily from her bed. Jenny turns her pigtails into a stethoscope so she can pick the lock.
"Who was that on the phone?" Tuck wonders and Jenny freezes. "Was that...was that Ms. Mecha's real identity?"
"Of course not!" She scoffs and he raises a skeptical brow. She punches through the door instead of answer and opens up the vault, followed by Tuck.
"Whoa...Well, what are we waiting for?" He's about to rush in when she places a hand on his forehead to stop him.
"Not so fast, short stuff. This is a job for big girls only," She pushes him to outside and she closes the door so that he can't come in.
"Ohh, I can be a big girl!" He complains to the robot. She then looks to the dial that she punched out.
"If this is Mom's idea of high-tech security, I think she's losing her touch," She tosses the dial...and then steps into a trap as the floor has detection lasers. An alarm goes off and a bunch of lasers fire at her. She extends her legs, swaying around to avoid them. Then a bunch of weapons appear and they immediately open fire on Jenny. She uses her skates to get away from them, and then a bunch of doors close in front of her. She crashes into one, looking back in horror at the incoming projectiles. She looks up and sees an air vent, flying through it. She zips and turns int the vent, emerging into another room with the missiles still after her. She looks up to see an impenetrable inner vault up ahead...and then a laser wall appears. "Aw, come on!" She gets into a ball and then when she reaches the lasers, she spreads her body so that she can use mirrors to deflect every single one. She's about to use the lasers on the missiles when Amy as Ms. Mecha pops in out of nowhere in front of her and fires rapidly at them. Jenny blinks in shock as every single one is destroyed and they fall into the vault.
"Are you okay?" Amy asks with a small sigh, dusting herself off.
"Me?! What about you, what are you doing here?" Jenny gestures to herself.
"I've known your mother long enough to remember that she has a pretty extensive security system somewhere in her house," She jerks a thumb behind her. "She tends to lock up failed or unfinished experiments either in here or up in the basement."
"How do you know that?"
"Trust me, I've dealt with enough of her experiments to know," Amy waves it off. "She once told my parents after one big explosion that she'd start locking some up if they keep extending to our house."
"But how'd you get here if I locked Tuck out?"
"I followed you right above Tuck while you two were talking so that you two didn't notice me come in when you closed the door," She explains and Jenny hugs her tightly.
"Aw, you came to make sure I was okay!" She smiles happily at her friend. "You're the best, Amy!"
Amy just smiles and pats her pigtail. "So I'm told."
Jenny then looks up ahead and drops the girl onto the ground. "Whoa!" They see all the experiments Amy mentioned, and then they see Tuck sitting on a table marked Future-Scope. He's using the very same invention.
"Oh, hey Jenny, Ms. Mecha," He puts down the device. "What's up? Just checking out the distant future." Both of them wince as he's been sitting there the entire time and that means he heard everything... "I've been tuning out everything, so I haven't heard anything," He then adds in and they both sigh in relief. "Whoa, talking apes rule the planet. Who'd of thunk it?"
Both of them get over their relief in favor of being mad at him. "Gimme that!" Jenny snatches it from him. "I've got important research to conduct," She flips the dial so that the time is set to tonight. She holds it up to her eyes. "What is that? Oh, my. It can't be!"
"What? What is it?" Tuck asks immediately and Jenny giggles. She then tosses the device.
"I can't wait to see this!" She exclaims as she walks off with Amy. He watches Jenny whisper into Amy's ear. The brunette flinches in surprise and then snickers out loud, covering her mouth. The two walk away instead of explaining.
"What's so funny?" Tuck takes a look for himself, and notices a wasteland. As the field moves to the right, he sees a body...with Brad's disembodied head in the distance. Jenny and Ms. Mecha stand over him, laughing evilly with what looks like blood on their hands. Tuck screams in terror and moves the device away. "It's Brad! I-I-I mean, Brad's head! I mean, I have to stop the future, or I'm gonna be an only child!"
He storms into Brad's room at home, gasping as he sees Brad preparing for the movie. He reaches out to pluck a nose hair in his bathroom. "Noooo!" Tuck cries out, diving forward and smacking away the clipper. He lands on the toilet like a ninja.
"Tuck? What the-"
"Uh, those things are dangerous!" Tuck shouts in protest. "You go to pluck a hair, and your hand slips, and-" He mimics his head being sliced off.
"...You're in one of your moods again, aren't you?" Brad raises a brow. He looks into the mirror and notices one lone hair from his chin. "Hm, better shave. Don't wanna look like a hippie," He prepares a razor, Tuck looking nervous as he watches Brad wash it out. He puts a rubber duck to his shaving cream, seeing Tuck about to toss the razor out the window. "Tuck, no one is gonna get hurt from a safety razor."
"Not now, they won't," Tuck drops it out the window.
"Ow, my ear!" A man cries out from outside.
Brad grabs some mouthwash, but gets it snatched by Tuck. "Could be laced with hydrochloric acid," He puts it a bag. "I'll send it out to the lab and get it right back to—you." He flinches and looks up as Brad is gone. He looks to his brother about to put shoes on, but the boy snatches them away. "Just checking for scorpions."
He then is about to put his wallet in his pocket when once again, Tuck grabs it and puts it in a small briefcase. He knocks the briefcase into a safe and then puts chains around it and a lock. "There! Don't want you getting any paper cuts from your money. You can be buying candy, pull out a fiver, wind blows it into the air and-" He mimics a head slice again. "Off pops your head like a grape! There'll be no livin' la vida loca tonight. You're staying home where I can keep an eye on you."
Brad's eyes widen at this. "Oh, I see, someone doesn't want me to go on my date. Tuck, come here," He sits down on his bed. "At your age, girls seem icky." Tuck slowly reaches out and takes out a roll of duct tape, Brad not noticing as he has his eyes closed. "But there will come a time when that will change. You gotta open your eyes, Tuck. I'm a man now. And as a man, I have certain obligations to the fairer sex." Tuck starts using the tape. "Namely, dating them. A lot of them."
"Could you move your leg a little?" Tuck suddenly questions.
"Huh? Oh, sure. But I promise you that no woman, no matter how beautiful or in love with me she is, will ever come between us. Okay, Tuck?" Tuck doesn't answer as he's tied Brad to something, and also put a lock on it. "Tuck?" He finally looks down and realizes what his brother did. "TUUUUUCK!" Jenny flies in from the window, hands behind her back with a small smile. Amy sits on the windowsill, and he glances at them. "What do you guys want?"
"We came over to apologize-"
"We?" Amy raises a skeptical brow and Jenny elbows her. She blinks and realizes that her rejecting Brad probably wasn't the best way to go about it.
"We didn't mean those things we said. I'm happy for you and your...date. And we certainly don't want you to miss the movie," Jenny's pigtails form into a giant laser, which she uses to cut around Brad. He winces nervously, but opens his eyes to see his restraints falling off.
"Sorry for rejecting you the way I did. It's not that I don't think you're not dateable, it's just that I see you more as a brother," Amy speaks up from the window.
"Well, if you're really sorry, why don't you guys distract Tuck while I finish getting ready?" He dusts himself off. He then shakes both of their hands with smiles.
"You got it."
The duo watch him run off, both of them chuckling to themselves. "Now all I have to do is hide Brad's car keys," Tuck runs off, coming across Amy and Jenny. He quickly turns away, hands on his hips. "Well, ladies, hello."
"Tuck, hi."
He rubs his chin, glancing up at them. Somehow, Jenny's tied up in Brad's future death. I can't let them know what I'm up to.
In turn, they stare down at him in thought. We can't let Tuck stop Brad's date. We've gotta keep an eye on him.
"So, Tuck, where you heading?" Jenny asks curiously, bending down to him.
"Uh, I was just going for a walk, so I guess I'll see you guys later," He goes to walk out the door and they speed after him.
"A walk, huh? Beautiful day. Think we'll join you."
"Yup! It'll be nice to see the outside again before tonight," Amy smiles a little.
"Actually, my feet hurt," He turns right around and continues walking. "I think I'll go play in the backyard."
They chase after him once again. "A little backyard playtime? Count us in."
"And I can get Piri to come too!" Amy winks and he stops walking, annoyed. He sniffs his armpit.
"Hoo! Stink-y! I'd better go take a bath," He smirks up at the girls. "Robots don't take baths, do they? And girls can't follow me in." He speeds up the stairs and gets into the bathroom, laughing evilly to himself. He then freezes as Jenny and Amy are in the bathroom.
"Scrub your back?" She reveals her hand as a loofah, and a car is heard starting. Tuck looks out the window to see Brad leaving in his car. He runs out the door.
"Brad! Don't go! You don't understand! You're in grave danger!"
Jenny looms over him while Amy leaves to go get Piri. "Don't worry, Tuck. Tonight will be great. At least for me and Ms. Mecha," She smirks, hands on her hips.
"You both stay away from my brother!" Tuck starts accusing her. "I saw the future, and I'm prepared to use force, if necessary to stop you both!" He then punches the air.
"Tuck, what are you-" He then tries to kick her head, but she's made out of metal and he's a little kid, so it doesn't really hurt her. "Are you crazy?" He then tries to hit her behind and once again, it does nothing for her. Amy walks over with Piri in her hands, raising a brow at Jenny, who just crosses her arms while Tuck attacks her multiple times. He repeatedly hits her legs with his fists, and smacks his head against them, but he shakes.
"What is he doing?" Amy whispers to Jenny.
"Something about me staying away from Brad and seeing the future...bout done?" She looks down at Tuck, a bit annoyed as he wears himself out. He then slides onto the ground, looking up at her.
"Truce?"
"Sure thing," She bends down to him with a smile. "Put'er there," She offers her hand, but when she takes it, she gets zapped and she falls onto the ground.
"What the-?!" Amy bends down to her, Piri opening her mouth at Tuck. "Jen? Jen?!" She shakes the robot in concern.
"Ah-ha! Victory is mine!" Tuck reveals a shock button from his hand. "Thank you, clown college surplus. Now that you're out of the picture, there's a chance I can save Brad from the future."
"What are you talking about?! Why did you do that to Jenny?" Amy looks up at him in anger.
"I gotta figure out how to find Ms. Mecha, though," He rubs his chin, avoiding her question.
"Tuck, what do you mean?" Piri blinks at him and he gives off a few animal sounds for some reason, but it's actually a secret language. Amy stares at them before Piri punches her sister in the gut and then gives her a knock-out punch from the chin up. The brunette falls next to Jenny unconscious. Piri then cracks her knuckles. "Sorry, Amy. Nothing personal!"
The two kids run off to go catch up with Brad. "By the way, where'd you learn that?"
"Oh, I take karate," Piri smiles at him. "I know lots of moves to knock someone out or immobilize them."
He winces as he hopes he never experiences it...
Once it's night time, the two girls sit up in alarm. "Tuck?" Jenny looks around but doesn't see him. "What time is it? We gotta go. We can't miss our chance to meet Brad's date," She flies off and Amy turns into Ms. Mecha, flying after her.
"Tuck must've said something to Piri so that she'd help him, she is SO grounded when I see her," Amy grumbles at being knocked out by a kid.
"Two, please," Brad tells the person at the ticket booth. "That's one for me and one for my date." The woman just stares before giving him the tickets. "Thank you. What's that, sweetheart? Are zombie vampires real?" He just laughs out loud, jerking a thumb to her. "My date." Cars behind him honk as they wait to get their own tickets. "She's a little nervous." A car gives off a loud honk and he flinches. He smiles nervously as he drives off, the woman watching him. Tuck crawls up to a bush, glancing around with Piri before running off.
Jenny and Amy appear in the sky as the film starts to play. "We made it!" Brad exclaims with a smile. "And the blood sucking's hardly begun!" His date is actually a puppet. A couple stares at him weirdly. "So...do you like horror movies?" He asks loudly, using the back of the puppet while doing a high-pitched voice.
"Oh, yes. I'm a huge fan."
"So how 'bout a kiss?" Brad smirks a little.
"Sorry, I don't kiss on the first date..."
He sighs and looks away at how pathetic he feels about this...Tuck peeks behind a trash can. "Good. Everybody's head is still on their shoulders..." He gasps as he looks up ahead, seeing Jenny and Amy with cameras. Both them and the alien from the movie laugh. The duo sneak towards Brad's car. "Don't they know they're in terrible danger?" Tuck says in sync with the woman from the movie. "It's up to me to save them!" He grabs two bottles of something.
"You know, if you get too scared, I can put my arm around your shoulder."
"Get your hands off of me!"
He gives the puppet a glare. "You know, it's a long walk home."
The two are nearing the car when Tuck stops them. "That's far enough, monsters!" He's standing on top of a car, glaring at them. "I see you've woken up from your little nap."
"Tuck!" Jenny exclaims at him.
"Do you mind explaining what why you knocked us out?" Amy glares, hands on her hips.
"This'll knock you out, permanently!" He holds the hot sauce in both hands and sprays it onto them, distracting the duo. "Yaaa!" He jumps forward and lands on Jenny's back, Piri doing the same and tackling Amy to the ground. She starts punching at the helmet, thankfully unable to see Amy since the hot sauce is covering her visor. Tuck bangs on Jenny's head.
"Jenny? Tuck?" Brad looks out the window. He then sees Piri attacking Amy. "Piri? Ms. Mecha?" Jenny knocks herself into a telephone pole and everyone runs away as it hits a car. Tuck and Jenny knock another one down, and it heads for Brad. "Come on!" He pulls at the puppet's arm. "Oh, right, seatbelt." The pole hits the car and he goes flying along with the puppet. The head of it gets slashed off from its body with the pole while Brad gets his whole body stuck in the ground. Jenny knocks off Tuck while Amy pushes off Piri gently enough for her to land on the ground. Tuck gasps as he looks up ahead.
"Oh no...!" He sees the whole place destroyed, and then the body, as well as Brad's head. He rushes up to his brother. "I was a fool. No one man, no matter how courageous, can change the course of history," He recites as the two wipe off the hot sauce, but it covers their hands. "Confound you, destiny!"
Jenny giggles and Amy snickers as she sees the puppet. Tuck looks up as the two start laughing out loud and he glares at them angrily. "You...monsters!" He rushes forward and hits their legs with his fists. Brad wakes up and sees what he's doing.
"Tuck...? Tuck! Tuck!" He flinches and sees his brother, who does not look happy. "What are you doing here?"
"Matter of fact, why did you go with him?" Amy points down at Piri, who sits up.
"I was just trying to help him!" She points to Tuck, whose lip quivers.
"he's alive! My disembodied brother is alive! Alive!" He hugs his brother's head and then gasps. "Oh my gosh, we gotta get you to the hospital."
"Tuck-" Tuck manages to pull him out completely. "TUCK! I'm fine!"
"Yeah, Tuck," Jenny and Amy walk up to him. "Brad's not hurt, but his date's not feeling too good," She holds up the puppet body.
"But on the future scope, I saw the future. And you were there, but not your body. And then you two were laughing and...and...and..." The four all stare at him, the three teenagers mostly confused. "Well, I'm just glad no one actually got hurt," He walks off and then sees the puppet head. "Somebody call a doctor!" He then faints on the spot.
"I'm...just gonna go-"
"Hold it," Amy holds her shoulder and she whines, turning around. "I'm gonna have to call your sister and tell her you snuck out. But for now..." She smiles a little at her sister, glancing at Jenny.
"So you guys wanna get a soda?"
"Sure," Brad smiles as they leave Tuck there.
"I get to come too?!" Piri shouts happily and Amy chuckles.
"Yeah."
"Yes!" Piri cheers as she follows them. "I can't wait to tell my class I hung out with two cool robots!"
