Amy and Sheldon walk to school together, the latter glancing around rapidly. The brunette glances at him, rolling her eyes knowingly. "Jenny's not with me today, she told me to go without her this morning," She informs him and he pouts.
"I-I wasn't looking for Jenny!" He defends, crossing his arms.
"Oh look, there she is now!"
"Where?!" Sheldon whips around but sees nothing, pouting as Amy snickers at him. "So how's it feel being a superhero? Your armor isn't too much, is it?"
"Psh," She waves it off. "I've been doing just fine with it. Nothing broken or anything like that."
"But why haven't you told anyone?" He wonders and she rubs her neck.
"I...dread people's reactions to when they'll know it's me. It's not like I want to keep it a secret forever, my sisters don't know a thing. And I hate keeping it quiet, but for now, I just wanna protect them from potential danger. Plus, you know...the whole 'used to be a guy' thing," She gives a blank look. "That's also definitely holding me back."
"Oh, come on. It's not like everyone still thinks it's weird."
"True, but there are other people out there in the world who think it's inhumane," She frowns a little. "I'm not sure if everyone would accept me as a hero judging by that fact."
"Well, I won't push you to tell, but you shouldn't worry what they think," He informs, earning a smile. "And it's so cool that I'm one of the few people who know the truth!" He gushes and she stops, shaking her head at him.
"You said you wouldn't tell anyone, remember?!" She hollers to him.
"I said I won't!" He calls back and Amy sighs slowly as she walks after him. Still, she has faith in him enough to know that he hasn't told anyone...and if he did, he'd definitely regret it for the rest of his life.
At Tremorton High, Brad is using his calculator in frustration during math class. "Ugh, fourth-dimensional calculus is impossible with this piece of junk." The thing keeps giving him errors and Jenny smiles as she has a built-in calculator.
"Sounds like somebody's calculator needs an upgrade," She spins the lever and it gets her the answer she's looking for. Brad glares while she smiles and paper's printed out.
"That's because you're equipped with one, not exactly fair," Amy rolls her eyes while using her own calculator.
"Upgrade, schmupgrade," He dismisses it, and when he presses another button, he gets a replace message this time, his calculator beeping as a homing signal. He smiles as he looks up at a drone going over to his desk and landing on it. He tosses his calculator into the trash.
"Brad, what are you doing?" Jenny takes it out of the trash can. "You can't just throw away a perfectly functioning machine."
"What are you talking about? Something gets old, you throw it away and get a new one," Brad holds up his new calculator. "It's called 'planned obsolesce'."
"And also commercialism. It's just how it works," Amy shrugs at Jenny. "But sometimes it's not just relying on a machine."
"Every electronic mind has something to offer," She defends to them, the brunette shaking her head since she's not on either side.
"Oh, come on, Jenny, not every machine can be upgraded," Brad explains as his calculations are printed. "There are limits to what some machines can do."
Jenny frowns at the old calculator, which gags as it dies. Thunder strikes from outside and suddenly the power goes out. They all look towards outside as suddenly there's a storm for some reason. Jenny's monitor pops up to reveal Nora.
"Weather alert, XJ-9. A strange storm cloud has blanketed the entire Eastern seaboard. But this is no ordinary storm," She points to her diagram behind her. "It comes from...outer space." Jenny's mouth opens in shock and thunder strikes once again. "Better news for those out West, where sunny skies should continue through the weekend," She laughs at imitating a weather reporter, and then sees that Jenny's not laughing. She glances towards outside, she and Amy nodding towards each other.
The entire town is dark as red lightning strikes a road, and then two giant red arms come out from a vortex. It simply touches a tower and a neon sign, both places immediately going dark afterwards. The entity responsible for this is a big tall creature with a light bulb for a head. "Bright lights, big city, my kind of town." He points his hand at several stores, and as he does so, the power goes out from them. He then sucks the top of a skyscraper like he's drinking it. "Ah," He says happily. "This planet's abundant energy will provide Gigawatt with a feast fit for a king!"
"All right, lightning bug," He glances down at Jenny and Ms. Mecha looking at him from the top of a building. "It's time for you to power down."
Amy cracks her knuckles upon seeing him. "Give us your best shot."
"Ah, small native power sources," He bends down enough so that he's at eye level with them. "What can Gigawatt do for you, my dears?"
"Cough up the energy you've stolen...or get ready for a high-voltage Heimlich maneuver," She turns one of her arms into a giant laser. Amy places one arm over the other as she aims her laser cannon forward. Both of them fire at the same time, but all this does is make Gigawatt even bigger. Amy sweats nervously as she drops her cannon.
"Oh..." Jenny murmurs at this.
"Mmm, ionized plasma beams, my favorite," He then raises a hand and directs it towards the two, electrocuting the both of them. Jenny's eyes go black while Amy falls unconscious and both of them fall onto the road. Gigawatt sucks on his fingers. "A delicious little voltage," He then laughs evilly as he leaves, taking out the power from buildings without even touching them.
"XJ-9, Ms. Mecha, can you hear me?" Jenny opens her eyes to see that she's at home with her mother. Amy groans as she sits up, holding her head with one hand.
"What happened?" The robot murmurs in confusion.
"After I lost your signal, I went to recover you, only to find you completely drained by Gigawatt," She pulls him up on screen, gesturing to him. "An interstellar energy vampire."
"An energy vampire? That's a new one," Amy grunts a bit in pain. Jenny turns to her with a gasp.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, but he won't be," She narrows her eyes.
"I have no doubt he plans to devour all of Earth's energy," Nora speaks as a diagram of Earth getting drained is shown to them. "We're already on our emergency back-up system," She gestures to a tiny little machine that's chugging along and giving off sparks.
"Don't worry, Mom," Jenny frowns deeply. "We'll pull the plug on Gigawa..." Jenny starts to feel dizzy as Amy feels a little jolt of electricity.
"No, no, no, girls," Nora pushes them down gently. "Your metallic structure and her armor make you both vulnerable to Gigawatt's electrical attacks. There are limits to what you can do." She then remembers her conversation with Brad and Amy earlier about the calculator.
Jenny immediately jumps onto her feet. "Oh, no you don't! You're not touching my replace button," She darts her arms around to cover herself up.
"What?" Nora asks, truly baffled as she and Amy raise a brow at her.
"I don't think that's what she's getting at," The brunette comments.
"I know we can defeat Gigawatt, and if you won't help us..." Jenny spins her head to unscrew it. "We'll upgrade ourselves." She walks over to a machine near the computer and plugs herself in. Amy twitches a brow, a little disturbed by this. "I'll just download something off the internet."
"XJ-9, no, you'll go blind," Nora warns her. "Uhck, if you're so determined for you two to get upgrades, you'd better let me do it correctly," She removes Jenny's head from the computer, her daughter smiling at her. And then the power goes out in their house. "And quickly."
Amy taps Jenny on the head, leaning in to whisper. "How can I upgrade myself when I'm not like you?"
"Hmm..." Jenny thinks to herself and an idea comes to mind as she smiles.
Wizzly World is out of power, and Gigawatt is there licking part of the electricity system for the park. "Put the lollipop down, monster," Jenny speaks up as she has a new armor in gray. Amy also has new armor as instead of pink, she also looks grey.
"Ah, my midnight snacks have arrived," He holds up a hand and directs electricity towards them both, but it has no effect on them. "What's this?" He looks at his hand in confusion, wondering why it doesn't work.
"We're rubber, and you're glue," Jenny explains, as both their armor are made out of rubber. She starts jumping around. "Can't shock us, but we're gonna stick to you," Both of them jump up high and bounce off of the things around the park. Jenny makes one of the carts spin and for some reason, there are people in it. Gigawatt braces himself as they bounce all around him.
"Ooh, you two do look pretty in basic black," He directs his hand to one of the signs, and one of the letters turns into a magnet. They're both pulled onto the makeshift magnet.
"Ouch!" Amy winces as she hits it head-first.
"But your magnetic personalities are your most attractive quality," He laughs as he walks off, leaving them there.
Jenny throws the armor off once they're back at her house. Amy peels off the rubber so that she's back to her normal armor. "This rubber shell upgrade didn't go deep enough. For our next upgrade, we need to be less magnetic."
"Another upgrade?" Nora wonders in disbelief as she's running. She had attached a treadmill to the back-up generator. "But XJ9, we don't have enough energy to power the lab!"
"Well, if we can't make anything new, we'll have to use what we already have," Jenny walks past her, Amy following her.
"What we already—you're not thinking—whoa!" After having skid to a stop on the treadmill, Nora ends up flying and then crashing. Amy winces for her while looking away. "XJ9, you're not thinking what I'm afraid I'm thinking that you're thinking about thinking," She walks over to them, rubbing the back of her neck.
"That's right, your new stealth satellite dish. With those plastic components, we can't be magnetized."
"But it gets 846 stations," Nora whines at her, both of them looking annoyed.
"We don't have power, remember?" Amy reminds the woman, who blinks in realization that right now, she can't really use it...
A train is moving along until the train driver's eyes widen. He sees Gigawatt taking a fork from an Italian restaurant billboard. He pulls on the lever to stop the train, the giant fork stopping in front of him. Gigawatt twirls the tracks like spaghetti, holding it up. "Ah, railroad linguini...although I do prefer a more al dente rail." He starts slurping it until he hears a noise. He looks up in confusion to see two planes, made up of Jenny and Amy. Both of them go flying towards Gigawatt, firing various lasers at him. He raises his arms as electricity flows from them and they zip around the sparks. The two then fire missiles at him, managing to get a hit. "Ow!"
The duo smirk as they dive straight in...only for Gigawatt to grab them, squishing them like flies. He then pulls apart their wings, leaving Jenny as a skeleton and Amy with her regular armor on. The two fall and get stuck on a magnet again, along with other things.
"We need to think outside of the box for this next upgrade," Jenny states as a lightbulb is barely functioning. "Any bright ideas, Mom?" Nora is using a big hamster wheel, running on all fours. She pants tiredly, falling and spinning around to a stop. Amy winces at her, stepping forward.
"Ideas are beside the point, XJ9," She breathes out as the brunette helps her up. Jenny faces the window, arms behind her back. "There's no more power for the lab, for upgrades, for anything! Gigawatt has left us nothing but the roof over our heads," She walks over to the robot holding a candle.
"Well, then, maybe it's time to raise the roof," Jenny summons an axe, both Amy and Nora gasping. Jenny hits a table and something goes flying.
"...You concern me," Amy states plain and simple.
Out in the forest, people are surrounding a campfire until Gigawatt sucks it up with his finger. They all scream and run away from him as he licks it. "Mm, s'mores." He hears a buzz that's not coming from him and turns around, seeing something big approach. He can't see it until it moves away some trees, revealing a giant mech in the likes of Jenny, but has some characteristics of Amy's suit like the goggles and splashes of pink. "What kind of abomination is this?" He recoils back in shock.
"Don't you recognize us?" Jenny speaks up.
"The ones who keep coming back?" Amy questions next.
"Our latest makeover is a bit radical, but we're still the same girl on the inside," The mech is actually controlled by Jenny's brain. Amy sits in a control booth with a smirk next to the glass cage. "Okay, so my body isn't as magnetically attractive. That doesn't mean we can't still play together."
"So, our move?" Amy smirks as she presses a button, summoning weapons from everywhere, some of them made out of wood. Then the left hand holds a sword. Amy rubs her hands together in glee while Gigawatt looks terrified at first. He rubs his chin and flicks his thumb, a flame coming from it. He flicks it at the foot and Jenny screams, hoping on one foot. Amy falls to the ground as the inside is shaking.
"Ooh, ooh, ah, ooh," She hops away as her foot is on fire. Amy shakily holds up a hand and then slams down a button. Jenny blows out the fire in relief, and then stumbles, falling back and destroying a bunch of buildings like dominoes. One of the buildings even says domino on it. Amy groans from the ground, feeling sick.
"Listen closely, material girls," Gigawatt looms over the mech. "The future belongs to life forms of pure energy. No amount of costume changes can change the fact that evolution has passed you by," He holds a hand over the mech, a small vortex spinning from it. He then shocks the mech, and Jenny's brain pops out, flying towards the moon. It parachutes to the ground and lands back at the house, which was what the mech was made out of. Amy gasps as Gigawatt looms over the mech and she slams a button to make an emergency exit. The seat flies out of the mech far away from him before a parachute emerges and she sighs in relief.
"Oh no, I lost Jenny!" She says to herself as she doesn't know where Jenny is now...
"My goodness, XJ9," Nora looks down at her, picking up her brain. "What happened?"
"Gigawatt happened...again," Jenny laments, looking away. "I used everything we had, and we still couldn't beat Gigawatt. Maybe...I can't be upgraded. I'm...I'm obsolete!" She cries as she hops into the trash can, tears flying from it. "And what's worse, Ms. Mecha could be in danger and I can't save her!"
"Hi, Dr. Wakeman," Tuck suddenly arrives as Nora frowns. "Watering the lawn? Where's Jenny?"
Her brain pops out of the trash can. "Hi, Tuck."
He screams upon seeing her like this. "It's another Wakeman monstrosity! The garbage-eating brain!" He hides behind Brad as he shows up.
"Oh, hey, Jenny, what are you, uh, doing in the trash?" He wonders to her.
"This is where obsolete robots belong," Jenny laments to the boys, looking away sadly.
"Obsolete?" Brad's eyes pop out of his head.
"Yeah, like an old calculator..."
"A calculator," He holds one up. "I don't use these anymore," He tosses it over his shoulder. "Relying on upgrades is a crutch. I like to flex the old brain muscle," He brags to his friend. "That's why I use an abacus," He reveals it out of nowhere.
"You trust your brain more than a computer?" Jenny asks in awe.
"Sure, the brain is the most powerful computer there is."
"Indeed, XJ9," Nora smiles as she walks up to her, holding her brain in her hands. "Nothing can replace your creative brain."
"Yeah, your brain is way powerful," Tuck adds in. "Powerfully grotesque."
"That must've been what Amy was getting at!" Jenny realizes now what they're trying to tell her. "Fancy upgrades and advanced weaponry aren't important. My mind is the weapon that matters most. My brain power, I'll never be obsolete! I'll never-"
"Whoopsie," Nora drops her by accident. "Whoops, heh heh, butter fingers. I'm sorry," She frowns as Jenny actually felt the pain of that. "You were saying?"
"Forget it. I've got an idea," She looks to the others. "And we gotta hurry fast, Ms. Mecha's out there all alone with Gigawatt..."
A robotic little dog bars while in the hands of Gigawatt, who squeezes out its battery to ear. He then tosses it into a pile of all the junk he got the energy from. Some little kids cry nearby since he attacked the toy store, getting out all the batteries. "Ah, the children, so generous. But now, the city is dark. Fortunately, I see a brighter future on the horizon," He glances over his shoulder to see one last building with power standing that he somehow missed. He gets a rubber ball shot at him from Amy, who glares at him. "Little girl...we both know that won't work anymore," He smirks, ignoring her and leaving towards the building. She's about to attack again when he stops, confusing her.
She flies over and looks down to see Jenny's rubber armor. "What's this? Again you appear as the rubber girl? Have your past defeats with your little friend taught you nothing?" He shocks a fire extinguisher to make it into a magnet...but this time the rubber has no effect on it. "What sorcery is this?"
He gets plasma beams fired at him out of nowhere, Amy gasping and looking up. He looks in her direction to see the plane armor coming in and flying around like a fly. Gigawatt backs away towards a skyscraper, where he gets his head slapped by the house mech. "Ghosts, ghosts of the past haunt Gigawatt."
"Wrong, fuse face." He looks down to see Jenny back to normal, having attached herself to the fire extinguisher. "This ain't no blast from the past, but a face full of the future," She fires water at him, shocking him right back. Amy pumps her fists with a smile, flying down and firing a water gun at Gigawatt.
"Ahh!" He shouts in pain, shrinking until only his head remains. She smiles as they both stop and Gigawatt is grey with blue eyes since he has no more power.
"Well, well," Jenny starts off as they lean against only his head. He looks up sadly at them. "Looks like this pure energy life form isn't so pure." The girls smile at each other and share a high-five.
"What power of the universe allows you to control four bodies at once?"
"The power of a creative mind," She informs with a smile as the rubber form was Nora, Tuck is controlling the plane, and Brad is controlling the mech. "It's the brain that makes the robot," She pushes his head into a box. "Not the number of upgrades or tightness of her bolts." Speaking of bolts, hers pop off, and her brain falls to the ground. "Although a good head bolt does come in handy," Jenny corrects herself.
"I got it," Amy smiles as she picks up Jenny's brain, putting it back inside her head. She forms her hand into a drill and tightens the bolts.
"Thanks," Jenny smiles gratefully and then hugs the girl tightly, surprising her. "But are you okay?! I left you all alone with him."
"Oh, that?" Amy waves it off. "I actually managed to escape from him until you guys came back to help defeat him. Great idea to have them control the other forms so that you could corner him," She then makes her hand into a tape dispenser to tape the box shut so that Nora can put him in her safe. That way he won't be able to get out to do this ever again.
"Glad we could help and that you're not in danger anymore," Brad hollers from his spot. Tuck hugs her legs, looking up at her.
"Ms. Mecha, Ms. Mecha! Some new kids at my school are starting to doubt that you're a robot, can I take you to school one day? I want them to see your gross brain like Jenny's!"
"Yes, I do wonder, when were you created?" Nora rubs her chin since no one has proof that she's either robot or human.
"Um," She darts her eyes around, backing away awkwardly. "I gotta go, bye!" She takes off into the sky, leaving behind smoke in the process.
"Sorry about them. You have to admit, you haven't established a full backstory for how you became my partner," Jenny points out to Amy once they're in her room. She rolls her eyes to the back of her head from Jenny's statements.
"Can you blame me? Either answer just leaves a lot of questions that we both know I can't answer," Amy crosses her arms.
"How bout we say you came from another planet?" Jenny's eyes shine from the thought. "That maybe you were a creation from the Cluster to be a robot slave but then you betrayed them?"
Amy just snorts at the suggestion. "And just who is gonna believe that story? Especially since the Cluster is all for enslaving the human race, especially from Tremorton. Not sure if anyone would buy that one of them would change to fight against their own race."
"Maybe," Jenny rubs her chin. "Ooh! Or maybe that you're an alien from another planet that suddenly decided to save the world? We could say that you crash-landed in Tremorton and I came across you and then trained you to be my partner?"
"Mm, maybe," Amy tilts her head in thought, smiling in amusement. "But considering that I already look like a normal human, wouldn't that be working against it? And if this was after you became known to everyone else, someone would ask for proof that I crash-landed here."
"We could make a spaceship. My mom's got the tech for it. And we've seen all kinds of aliens before, this shouldn't be any different," Jenny argues back to her, Amy laughing at the robot. "I just wanna make sure we cover all our bases from now on."
"Was this because of Tuck and your mom?" Amy shakes her head, walking over to her computer and writing down Jenny's suggestion. "Both of us always avoided the question, remember?"
"Well, yeah, but I just wanna make sure we don't get stuff like that again. We can't avoid it forever," Jenny explains as Amy slides back, gesturing to her computer.
"I guess. Here, download it into your system so that I can delete it. I don't want my sisters going through my stuff about anything of this," She tells Jenny, who walks over and puts a finger to Amy's usb port to download it.
"Do you ever plan on telling your sisters?"
Amy sighs slowly at the question. "...Maybe one day. But for now, I can't get them involved. Having my monitor and suit here is already risky enough to hide. Thankfully they never catch on. Except maybe Claudia, but she wouldn't snoop through my stuff."
"Well, at least you weren't too bad from Gigawatt," Jenny smiles after downloading the notes.
"Jen. Really, I'm fine! It's not like I haven't been shocked before. The suit prevents me from suffering any fatal damage, remember?"
"Just be careful. As your partner, I have every right to look after you," The robot states, earning a smile from the brunette. She's just glad to have a friend like Jenny trying to protect her but doesn't ever suggest for her to stop.
Angel: Look, I'm not gonna get into who would voice different Amys because I don't wanna have to put up with TMNT anymore. How many times do I need to say that? So the answer is no, stop making me get into rants, katrupp03, I am this close to blocking you for making me stressed. And I would tell this person this over PM, but I don't wanna waste my breath anymore. Just...ugh, this is really so unnecessary. Katrupp03, if you KNOW that I'm done with TMNT, why would you ask me who would voice the Amys from that franchise? Let that sink in! You've already made me lose my patience when you asked me to write one of my future stories earlier than I'm planning to. Try me again, I dare you to.
If someone else other than me is eager enough to come up with voice actresses, you officially have my permission if that means that I don't have to answer the question and put up with this. After the Rise of TMNT movie, I wanna be done with the franchise, stop bringing it up.
