Two birds come together to make a heart. Bees from a beehive also form a heart and a couple sits underneath the tree with happy smiles on their faces. Two gamers smile happily at each other. Even at school it's occurring. Jenny sits alone at a table with a frown on her face, sighing sadly. Amy sits across from her, raising a brow.
"Hey Jenny, what's up?" Sheldon speeds over to her quickly.
"The whole school is in love, Sheldon," She laments to him and he frowns at her. "I think the actual air molecules transport love to everybody except me. Do you know what I need, Sheldon?" She clasps her hands and he looks at her hopefully.
"A boyfriend?"
"Exactly," She answers happily and Amy slams her head on the table.
"Jen, no," The brunette groans as she knows at this point where this is going.
"A boy that is patient," She gushes, Sheldon jerking two thumbs to himself.
"I can wait forever."
"A boy that's romantic," Jenny continues, Sheldon sliding over to her other side with a flirty look on his face.
"Hey there, Shiny, what's cooking?"
"Why?" Amy pinches her forehead, shaking her head.
"A boy that knows what makes me tick."
"It's an enhanced Swiss timepiece with a subatomic power source," Sheldon recites to her while somehow upside down. "Right? Right? Right?" He then falls onto the ground and Amy stands up to look over him.
"A boy like..." She looks up ahead to see a robot teenage boy looking at a fire extinguisher. "Him..." She floats over to him with love in her eyes. Sheldon hops while still upside down to look at them. Jenny stops behind him and the robot boy and he sniffs the air, turning around to see her. They gaze into each other's eyes and smile. Electricity crackles between the two of them.
"Hello, I'm-" They speak at the same time, pausing and giggling.
"Hello, I'm Kenny," He holds out his hand.
"I'm Jenny," She smiles, holding his hand back.
"I've never seen such a pretty robot girl in all my life," He gushes at her.
"Well, I'm the only one around."
"Can I walk you home? I love walkies," He then takes her book and leads the way, followed by Jenny.
"Man, my whole world has turned upside down," Sheldon comments in dismay, glancing to the side.
"Oh, good. I thought it was me."
Amy facepalms and goes around the table, helping Sheldon onto his feet. "Amy, you're just gonna let them go?!" He gestures to the two robots.
"Sheldon..." She groans a bit, looking away in disbelief. "Don't you remember the fact that you have to respect Jenny's wishes? If she wants a robot boy, let her. They seem like they would get along well," She shrugs, only for Sheldon to grip her shoulders and shake her.
"How can you say such a thing?!"
"Get off!" She pushes him onto the grass, huffing and leaving him behind. "I'm serious, leave them alone. Your jealousy can get out of hand. The heart wants what the heart wants, live with this and move on."
Though she has her doubts on him heeding that advice...
"I like synth oil," Kenny tells Jenny as they walk together.
"Me too!" Jenny smiles up at him. "We have so much in common. Do you like new power packs in the morning? And getting your exterior buffed? And shopping for neat accessories at Radio Shack?"
"Uh...I like synth oil," He repeats in confusion since he hasn't done any of those.
"Well, here we are," Jenny smiles, hands behind her back.
"Yep."
"Have you heard about the super cool, have-to-go, must-be-there pizza party at Mezmer's tonight?" She starts off nervously.
"Yeah." Suddenly there's a pause between them as they look into each other's eyes for a few seconds. "You wanna go?"
Jenny squeals happily while shaking. "YEAH!" She flies up into the sky, surprising Amy as she just arrived in her driveway. She looks up at the sky.
"Is that a yes or a no?" Kenny wonders and she stretches her arms to come back to him.
"Of course I wanna go! I'll see you tonight," She waves at him and he cheers.
"Alright!"
Amy chuckles at them. "Aw, they're actually kind of adorable...might have to go to that pizza party to make sure Sheldon doesn't do anything weird, though," She murmurs to herself as she walks into her house. She'd rather stay home since...the whole boy now girl thing is still a problem, but she might have to disguise herself.
Jenny floats on a cloud with the number 9 on it, thinking about her upcoming date. "XJ9, what are you doing?" Nora scolds her. "You know cloud 9 is only a prototype. Use cloud 7 or 8. And why are you acting so strangely, anyway?"
"I'm dreaming about Kenny," She tells her mother. "Soon to be my super cool teenage robot boyfriend Kenny. He's just like me, only better," She sighs happily as the cloud lifts her up.
"A male teenage robot," Nora thinks about what she said. "Impossible. Who could have-" She gasps in realization. "Mogg. That second-rate copycat! Visiphone, call Phineas Mogg."
He appears on screen with a smug smile on his face. "Nora Wakeman, to what do I owe this unexpected interruption?"
"Can't you ever come up with an idea of your own?" She accuses him right off the bat.
"Whatever do you mean?" The scientist asks innocently.
"You've made a whole career of taking my ideas and-"
"Perfecting them?" He interrupts her while holding up a finger. "Why don't you just make them perfect to begin with?" She shakes in anger from his question and she watches him pace in his lab. "You know, I really don't know what you're talking about. All of my recent inventions are due to my superior intellect and mine alone."
Kenny, the robot boy Jenny just met, skids into the lab happily. "Hey, Dad; I had the best day today." Mogg rubs his fingers nervously.
"Aha!" Nora glares at him. "I knew you ripped off my design for XJ9."
"This is no mere rip-off of XJ9," He points to Kenny. "He has extras you've never dreamed of. I've given him the keenest instincts and the most acute senses," He then starts to pat the robot boy on the head. "He can hear extremely high-pitched sounds and smell better than a bloodhound, better than XJ9." She fumes upon hearing this, shaking while gritting her teeth. "This is the new, improved YK9."
Kenny opens his eyes, standing up and not looking too happy about his robot name. "Dad, call me Kenny. Gotta go, Dad. Gotta get ready for my date."
"Date? What date?" Mogg demands since this is the first time he's hearing about it.
"With Jenny."
"What?! You can't! She's inferior," Mogg argues to him angrily. "And don't think about going for her second-rate partner either!"
"Listen, man, just because you made me doesn't mean you owe me," Kenny argues back, just as angry as he is. "You can't tell me who I can and can't date," He then storms off and Mogg smiles sheepishly at Nora. He had started off wanting to anger his rival, but...it wasn't entirely successful.
"You wanted a teenager," Nora smiles knowingly at him.
Jenny gets ready in her room by spray-painting her mechanical toes underneath her foot. "I'm happy for you, Jen. He seems like a nice robot," Amy tells her while looking through a magazine, sitting across from the robot.
"Can you please come?" Jenny begs the brunette. "I really want him to meet you, and...maybe tell him you're my partner?"
"Whoa! Coming in a little too fast with that one," Amy waves a hand. "And why do you wanna tell him my secret? You're the one dating him."
"Yeah, but I want him to see how cool you are!" Jenny smiles at her friend. "And tell him about all the times we've fought the Cluster, monsters, saved people. I just know that he can keep a secret and that you'll see that it's okay to tell people the truth. Or at least, a few people at a time."
Amy is about to open her mouth to protest until someone interrupts her. "XJ9," Nora calls out from outside before entering. "You cannot go on this date."
"Why not?" Jenny frowns sadly at her.
"That robot is a creation of Mogg. No daughter of mine will ever cavort with the son of such a man."
"What?! Mogg created him?" Amy recoils back in alarm, shaking her head. "But that shouldn't affect her date, you don't even know him that well to judge him."
"If he's anything like that scheming copycat, I'm not taking any chances," Nora crosses her arms.
"You can't take away my one chance at happiness because of some stupid rivalry," Jenny glares at her mother.
"Well, as a parent, it's my right to destroy your happiness. I'm sorry, XJ9, I cannot allow it," She leaves the room, peeking from the door. "You're grounded. And Amelia, it's about time you go back home," She slams the door and locks it.
"Unbelievable!" Amy shakes her head at this.
"I'm a super strong robot," Jenny activates her jets from her pigtails. "No room can hold me." She flies up to the ceiling, about to break through it when Amy whistles to her.
"There are less destructive ways," She jerks a thumb to the window.
"...Or I could always go out the window...fair point," Jenny crawls out and takes flight. Amy looks out the window, waving.
"I'll meet you at Mezmer's!" She calls out to the robot, who waves back happily.
Jenny and Kenny land at the same time in front of Mezmer's at night. "Hi, Kenny. I'm not supposed to be out with you tonight," She says sadly, hands behind her back.
"Me either..."
"Cool!" They exclaim in unison that they both snuck out to see each other.
"Come on, let's go!" Jenny takes his hand and as they walk up to the entrance, Kenny sees the cat-like front entrance. He starts whimpering a little for some reason. "This is gonna be the best pizza party ever."
"Worst pizza party ever," A boy contradicts her statement, causing her to look wide-eyed. Amy looks away awkwardly as people seem to be upset.
"You can't have pizza with a broken oven."
"I guess I bought this sack of flour for nothing..." Another boy laments and Amy walks up to them, wearing a coat and hat.
"Sorry to get your hopes up, guys, but the oven decided to break down just before anyone got here. Now they're just sitting around in sadness," She glances at the students. "We could get it delivered, but it just wouldn't be the same." And going somewhere else isn't an option either, because Mezmer's is the only local hangout with a pizza oven.
"Well, that's it. The perfect date with the perfect guy ruined, and all because there's no pizza," Jenny sags her shoulders.
"If my gal wants pizza, she'll get pizza," Kenny declares, hanging her over his shoulder. She gives a lovestruck smile at him calling her his gal. Amy blinks as she wonders what he's gonna do, staring after them. He sits Jenny down at a table, gently pushing Amy to the other table. He takes the bag of flour and...eats it. He then pours in salt, pepper, water, and spins his head around rapidly. He opens up his mouth, spitting out pizza dough! "A little antigravity," He points the antigravity ray at it to make it float above his head. He then holds some tomatoes and cheese, sinking his head. He pours both ingredients in and blends them together, spraying pizza sauce from his neck onto the pizza. The pizza lands back inside him as he brings his head back, smoke coming from his ears. His stomach dings and like an oven, his stomach opens up to reveal a cheese pizza! "Voila!"
Jenny and the others smile at him. Amy claps for him with a smile. "Wow, cool!"
The robot's about to eat it when Sheldon snatches it away. "Are you crazy?" He demands to Kenny. "Jenny doesn't eat people food," He tosses the slice over his shoulder, glaring up at the robot boy. "Don't you know anything about your own species?"
Amy clears her throat as she crosses her arms, standing across from him. He looks to Jenny, who looks sizzling mad as the slice is over her head. He smiles widely at her as Kenny offers the pizza to everyone else.
"Anyone else want some?"
Everyone takes a slice and tries it. "This is the best pizza in all of recorded history," Everyone says in unison. "Kenny's the greatest!"
Jenny smiles happily at Kenny, Sheldon looking upset. He watches them hold hands and frowns, sinking underneath the table. "There has to be something wrong with this perfect guy, but what?" He rubs his chin, watching the two robots link toes together and it disgusts him. Amy reaches down and pulls him out, the robots only looking at each other. Amy drags him outside, taking off her disguise to glare at him.
"Whatever you think you're doing, don't," She warns him while pointing a finger.
"What? I'm not thinking anything," He defends and the brunette rolls her eyes.
"Don't you remember that you do crazy things when you're jealous? When guys even so much as looked at me weird, you thought they were actually admiring me and tried to attack them with Captain Crush."
"Yeah, that didn't end so well," He rubs his neck as he almost got beat up that day. If Amy wasn't there, he would've gotten a wedgie or a swirlie or something even worse. Amy rubs a temple at him, sighing slowly.
"Look, the point is, let Jen be happy, for once. It's the first time she's liked a robot boy. Don't mess it up for her."
He pouts as she walks away back into Mezmer's, trying really hard to take her advice, but he just couldn't.
Kenny flies Jenny in front of her window. "I had a wonderful time tonight, Kenny," She gushes up at him.
"Me too."
"Is there some special way you'd like to say good night?" She asks hopefully, hoping for a kiss on the cheek as she closes her eyes.
"Sure!"
Instead, he...licks her face, disgusting her. He lunges forward to give her another one, but she pushes him away. "Gee, look at the time. We'd better call it a night. Bye!" She dashes into her window, pressing her back against the wall. "That...was megaweird. Something doesn't add up," She rubs her chin. "Let's see," She pulls out a keyboard. "Obsessed with fire hydrants. Shows affection with tongue," She rubs her cheek awkwardly. "Model number YK9." After putting in the information, a paper comes out from her mouth and she looks at the results. "My match-made-in-heaven robot dreamboat is actually...part dog!" She presses her face to the window, watching Kenny looking at a tree. He bends down like a dog, about to pee. She gasps in horror as she turns away. "Nice work, Jenny. You got the pick of the litter. I'm gonna have to end it with Kenny. Still, such a great guy. He's loyal, obedient, energetic, and has a wonderful shiny coat. I don't care if he is part dog. I'm gonna stand by my man...or man's best friend or whatever."
She goes to sleep, having a dream about being a robot wife cooking. It looks like dog food as she walks past a candlelit dinner to give it to Kenny, who laps it up. His ears stand up as they run out of their doghouse home to see the robot baby stork. It then leaves...little robot puppies that look like the both of them. They surround her and she hears a click, looking up tos see Kenny get taken away to the pound. She gets piled by the puppies in horror. She then gasps as she sits up.
"I'm gonna have to break up with Kenny tomorrow."
A hole is being dug in a front yard. "YK9! Where are you?" Mogg calls out as Kenny is making a hole. He ignores Mogg and keeps digging.
"Hey Jen," Amy greets as Jenny walks out of her house. She blinks as she sees her friend looking upset. "Something wrong?"
"It's horrible!" She grabs Amy's shoulders, shaking her. "The puppies, the dog food, the slobber! Ohh..."
The brunette stares down at Jenny weirdly. "Uhh...mind slowing down and explaining what's going on? Because I need all of that in context to understand what you're trying to tell me."
Jenny starts sobbing a little as she hands Amy the results from last night. "Kenny...he's...!"
"Wow. Part dog? Oof," Amy winces at this. "Sorry, Jen. He seemed like a good guy too. I guess you're gonna have to break it off with him, huh?"
"I don't wanna break his heart, but...if I want a relationship, I need someone who's not part dog."
"Isn't that kinda unfair? He's only got that one quality that holds him back. He could just get reprogrammed," Amy rubs her chin.
"Considering how Mogg made him, I doubt he would do it," Jenny grumbles at the reminder.
"True. I'm sure he won't take it too hard...maybe," Amy looks away awkwardly as they walk off to school together. The girl pats her friend's back as she still looks upset over having to break up with someone she really liked.
Jenny frowns as they walk down the hall. "Kenny, I'm sorry, but...oh, this is gonna be awful," She states to Amy, dreading the break-up.
"Hey, everybody. Jenny's here!" A boy points to her and suddenly the two are flocked by all the students.
"Where's your new boyfriend?"
"He's so cute!"
They all start talking at the same time, Amy blinking in alarm. Wow, with Kenny around, I'm finally popular. Jenny smiles to herself. I can't believe it. I have a boyfriend, everybody likes me, and...and... She hears a sniff, confusing her. Someone's sniffing me?
The person in question sniffing her is Kenny himself. The students can't help but wonder why, Jenny looking a bit awkward. Amy cringes a bit, rubbing her neck. "Uh, hi, honey," She pushes his head away gently with her finger. "I'm glad you like the new perfume I'm wearing."
"You wanna go to Mezmer's tonight, Jenny? Your friend can come too, I'd like to get to know her."
"Wow, if Kenny and Jenny are going, I'm gonna be there," A boy calls out, the other students agreeing. Amy just whistles awkwardly, looking away. This is now escalating and not in a good way...
"I bet Jenny's gonna be the most popular girl in school." Jenny smiles widely after hearing this.
"We'll be there," She hugs Kenny, surprising Amy. After the whole school cheers, Amy pulls away her friend, shaking her head.
"Didn't you say you were gonna call things off?" She says in a low voice so that Kenny doesn't hear them. Luckily he doesn't seem to be paying them any attention.
"Yeah, but I could be popular," Jenny whispers to her. "Maybe I could just accept him like I should."
"Not that I don't admire that, since I did suggest it to you, but I don't think it's right to use this relationship for popularity," Amy places a hand on her hip, raising a brow. "Whether you like the fact he's part dog or not, you gotta make the right decision for the both of you."
"Relax, it's a win-win," Jenny shrugs it off, Amy shaking her head slowly as she watches her friend leave.
"Jen, you're my best friend, but you're also blind," She mutters to herself.
Sheldon is spying on the couple at Mezmers, and the book Jenny has raises a few eyebrows. "How to Train Your Pet? Jenny doesn't have a pet." As soon as Amy arrives from the opposite direction, Kenny runs around the girls just like a dog.
"Heel, boy, heel," Jenny tries to calm him down. Sheldon gasps after seeing this.
"I knew there was something wrong with him."
"An obedience book?" Amy raises a brow, taking it from Jenny.
"Yeah...would you mind holding it? I don't want people asking questions on why I have it with me," She pleads Amy, who raises a skeptical brow. She leans in towards the brunette while glancing back at Kenny. "It'll just be for tonight and then I'll do it."
Amy sighs while closing her eyes. She's only doing this because Jenny is her friend... "Fine, but you owe me a shake in return."
"Thank you!" Jenny hugs her tightly, earning a small smile.
Kenny opens the door to Mezmer's. "They're here!" Everyone inside cheers for them, Sheldon jumping from the tree.
"It's time to expose that rat," He then realizes what he said. "I mean dog." The two robots lean across the counter, both of them talking with Amy. The brunette smiles at them while drinking the shake Jenny got her. Sheldon hides nearby, taking out a flea jar. "These fleas will send that mechanical mutt into an itching fit," He opens it up, the army of fleas flying from the jar...but since Kenny is a robot, they have no effect on him. Sheldon narrows his eyes, smirking as he sees something. He pulls a cord to show the moon from outside.
Kenny starts howling like a dog, Jenny looking horrified as Amy recoils back in alarm. She then tries to hide before she starts howling too. "Come on, everyone." She continues to howl, everyone else following. Sheldon smacks his forehead and Amy glances to the side to see him.
"I should've known," She grunts knowingly, storming up to him. "Sheldon, what are you doing here?"
"Her date's part dog! It should be me," He grumbles and she rolls her eyes.
"Dude, go home. All you'll gain from trying to break up her date is her getting heartbroken. And right now, you're only embarrassing her. I'll deal with you later, that is if she doesn't find out what you're doing before I get the chance," She warns him while walking off.
Sheldon frowns as he couldn't let this go and walks to the bathroom. "I swore I wouldn't wear this outside the feline fan convention, but now I have no choice," He glances back at Jenny while walking inside. Jenny looks away and freezes as Sheldon...is dressed like a cat. He meows constantly, but gets no reaction. "I said, Meow."
"...Is he serious?" Amy pinches her nose as she knows it's Sheldon. Besides himself, she's the only one who knows about his trips to the feline fan convention. Kenny snarls at Sheldon, Jenny trying to hold him back. Sheldon whistles, mocking him by wagging his fake tail. Jenny once again tries to hold back Kenny, but his head pops out of the cone she made, revealing sharp robotic teeth. Sheldon freezes like a cat and then rushes off, Kenny racing after him. He runs on his feet, which no one seems to point out, avoiding the teeth by jumping. The two run on the counter, knocking over food onto various people. Sheldon skids to a stop at the corner and runs to his left, Kenny crash into the wall. He continues the chase as Sheldon is on the soda machine. He jumps away from it and Kenny damages it. Jenny looks on nervously as soda flies everywhere. Amy growls at Sheldon, clenching her fists and shaking.
As Sheldon continues running, Kenny knocks away all the chairs, both of them diving behind the counter...where Sheldon proceeds to get beat up. Thankfully he managed to get away before he could get ripped to pieces, pumping into a pole. He looks up at a poster to see that it's a missing poster for Kenny. Mogg glances at him from behind.
"Kenny?" Jenny calls out as everyone is either traumatized or shaken up. "Kenny, where are you? Kenny?" Kenny is slurping up grease from the fryer, leaving him with a fried face. Jenny laughs nervously as everyone gives her glares. "Sorry about my boyfriend's reaction. He's really allergic to cats..." Kenny walks over on all fours, sitting next to her.
"Oh, yeah, allergies," One kid nods as they seem to buy it. Jenny pats him on the head.
"Jen...you can't keep this up forever," Amy sighs a bit, gesturing to him. "At some point, not everyone is gonna buy it."
"Yeah, I know..." Kenny suddenly whimpers as he hides behind the two. Amy blinks down at him. "What is it, boy? What is it?"
Mogg opens the door, and he does not look happy. "YK9, come here." Kenny whines as he goes over to his creator, Jenny looking away awkwardly. Mogg even puts a leash on him. "You've been a very bad boy. No more off-leash hours for you," He drags away Kenny, everyone gasping and murmuring.
Jenny groans at this, a hand over her face. "How could this get any worse?"
"XJ9!" Nora shouts as her mother comes in. Amy winces, rubbing her neck. "You've disobeyed a direct order and went out with that—that animal! Maybe I should have followed Mogg's pathetic modifications and made you part dog." Jenny looks horrified as Nora stomps away.
"Yo, only Jenny'd be desperate enough to date a dog," A boy mocks, causing Amy to secretly trip him. Everyone else laughs at her.
"I'm gonna be grounded until the end of time," Jenny laments as Sheldon goes over to them, still a mess from Kenny's attack earlier.
"Don't worry, Jenny. Until you're set free, I'll serenade you every night."
"You..." Amy grunts as she rolls up a sleeve and he shakes in fear.
"Amy, Amy, wait, I had good reason-"
"Uh huh," She grunts while dragging him away by his sweater. "Well, now I have good reason to not hold back on you."
Jenny just looks confused as she doesn't know what they're talking about. She then cringes as she hears Amy beating him up.
However, when he said he'd serenade her, he actually meant it. The next night, he's sitting on her fence in his cat costume, singing in a cat voice. Amy looks outside from her window, rolling her eyes at him. Jenny walks away from her window and someone throws something at Sheldon, knocking him off the fence. Amy walks out of her house with a sigh as she walks over to him. She puts him over her shoulder, walking him back to her house. Once she's in the living room, she closes the door behind her and places him on the couch.
"Thanks, Amy."
"You don't get to thank me," She growls and he takes off the head.
"I was doing it to help Jenny!"
"More like you were jealous that it wasn't you she was with last night," She retorts and he flinches, looking away with a pout.
"No!" She raises a brow, crossing her arms at him. He then sighs in defeat. "Maybe a little...I did her a favor!"
"All you ending up doing was embarrass her and possibly get her grounded for months on end. She was planning on breaking up with him soon because of the whole dog thing. Not like she can date him anymore anyway thanks to you," She rolls her eyes to the back of her head. "Sheldon, I know you still wanna have hope that one day she'll notice you, and I'm...relatively okay with that as long as you don't be creepy."
"What? I'm not creepy."
"Oh, so spying on her dates is a normal thing people do? Don't forget you did this when I went on a date with someone from a different school. And then he just happened to find out about the whole boy first then girl issue from a little bird?" She reminds him and he looks away with a frown. Amy sees his look and then sighs, deciding to drop it. "It's too late to go home. You can stay here for the night," She goes into a closet and tosses him a blanket from behind. It hits his face and he moves it away to look up at her. "I'm gonna go check on my sisters and then we can watch a movie. I'll make some popcorn."
"Hey, Amy?" He speaks up as she's about to leave. She glances over his shoulder to see a small smile from his face. "Thanks...for being my friend. Y-You won't tell Jenny about tonight, will you?"
She pauses as she thinks about it. She could tell Jenny...the best thing to do would be to tell Jenny. But if she does that, Jenny'd probably stop being friends with Sheldon. And she can tell that despite the fact that the robot's always rejecting him...Sheldon at least appreciates the fact that they can have a friendship. When he's not being jealous or trying to pursue Jenny, he is a good person to her. Amy herself didn't have many friends until Brad, Sheldon, Jenny, and Tuck came around, and she doesn't want to do anything to mess that up.
She then sighs slowly, getting his attention. "No...I won't tell her. I just wish you'd tone it down, but I'm not gonna say anything. I know you're behind getting Kenny to stay locked up in his house, though, and I'm not gonna let that go."
"Thanks, Amy...I'm doomed, aren't I?" He sweats nervously now that Amy knows that fact.
"Mostly not...but one day, you better fear for your life," She smirks in amusement. He gulps as he watches her leave. She snickers as she goes up the stairs. She wasn't really planning to do anything, but it was amusing to make him think that she would.
