"Can I just say one thing?" Tuck speaks up as Jenny, Brad, Amy, and Tuck are all on the football field at school. "This is going to be so easy," He holds up a soccer ball while Jenny just smirks confidently at him. "I mean, really, maybe we should give you a bit of a lead, since you're a girl." Both Jenny and Amy roll their eyes at this. "Cause two boys against two widdle girls means somebody's getting a butt-kickin'," He tosses the ball to Brad, who kicks it past Jenny. She flies after it as the ball flies towards the goal. She grabs the sides of the goal, pressing her legs together. She spins the ball to Amy as it's on fire.
Amy bumps the ball with her knee before flipping and kicking it to go faster. The two dodge out of the way as the ball goes flying into the goal, and is then sent on fire. The goal falls to ashes as Amy opens her mouth in shock, glad that she got away unscathed somehow. The two look at the goal and then at them, glancing at each other.
"Eh, beginner girl's luck," Tuck dismisses it.
"Yeah."
"Ha!" Jenny turns herself back to normal as Amy comes over. The two share a high five. "Do you realize that we just beat you at soccer and foosball?" A noise is heard, causing them all to look up. A rip in the sky appears, and then Cluster aliens emerge from it. Smythus flies in from the rip, and he looks angry. "Smythus."
"Yes, little XJ9. It is time to fulfill your destiny, along with your little friend Ms. Mecha."
Amy glares, slipping away from the group. Luckily, no one pays any mind to her. "Uh, to be widely accepted as a normal teenage girl?" Jenny asks him.
"No, to become one with the Cluster!"
"Oh. Wait here, guys. This shouldn't take long," Jenny dismisses, flying into the sky. Suddenly wind blows in Tuck and Brad's hair as Ms. Mecha flies right past them.
"Get them!" Smythus points at them. The Cluster come flying in, with Jenny turning herself into a mini foosball line. Amy smirks as the Cluster charge in. Amy flies above Jenny, who knocks away all the aliens like it's nothing. Amy kicks them onto the field when some pop up in front of her. Jenny continues hitting them and with the last one, she knocks it up into the air a few times before Amy headbutts it to Jenny, who turns back to normal. She hits the alien with her knees, spinning around and kicking it onto the soccer field. The two land while bowing.
"Thank you. Thank you."
"We're here all night," Amy salutes with a smile. "Well, we're here every single hour, but you get the point."
Tuck lets out a fake yawn. "You know, it's so sad when they have to show off to feel loved," Brad says casually.
"Oh, woe is me," Smythus looks up to the sky. "You two have bested me again. Or have you?"
"I'm sorry, what?" Amy looks up in confusion. Suddenly the Cluster aliens all turn towards the two. They form little green lines to connect to each other.
"Huh?" The two are baffled as they didn't know the Cluster could do that. Jenny grabs Amy and tosses her out of the way. "Hey!" Jenny protests as they've formed a net to capture her in, dragging her into the portal. Smythus laughs evilly as Amy looks up.
"Jen!" Amy screams in worry.
"Bye," Smythus disappears and Amy takes off as fast as she can. However, the portal closes in front of her and she looks around in alarm.
The boys scream in fear over what's happened, dashing away as fast as possible. Amy narrows her eyes as she knows where they're going, taking off at rapid speed. The boys scream as they run over to Jenny's house, and continue to scream as they push open the door.
"Boys, what is it?" Nora turns to them in alarm. They just scream again and she covers their mouths with her hands. When she uncovers them, they still scream and she does it again. "Boys, relax."
"Dr. Wakeman, I think what they mean to tell you is that we've got a problem," Amy steps in from behind, Nora blinking in confusion.
"Jenny was stolen by the Cluster!" Tuck shouts at the top of his lungs.
"Stolen by the Cluster?" Nora wonders and after she asks, the boys scream again.
"It's true. If it wasn't for her saving me, I would've been taken with them," Amy speaks up in worry, crossing her arms with a frown. "I wasn't able to follow her into their portal, she could be anywhere by now..."
Jenny groans as she tries to break free from her trap, but is unable. "XJ9, it is pointless to struggle against the power of the Cluster. Just lay back and enjoy your long-overdue transformation," Smythus tells her as he just watches. She snaps off part of the web, only for her arm to get caught again. "And when we're finished, we'll grab your friend too."
The robot glares down at him. "The only thing I'm going to enjoy is taking you apart piece by piece! And as long as I'm still functioning, you'll never get my friend, you hear me?!"
Smythus just sighs at her declaration. "This stubborn streak, along with the rest of your bothersome personality, will soon be a thing of the past," He grins evilly while she still struggles. "You'll be joined, body and soul, to the all-powerful hive mind of the drone army!" The Cluster drones crawl towards her from all sides and she looks around in worry. She squeezes her eyes shut as they cover her body, starting to attach themselves by body and hands. Eventually they all form into one giant mech. Smythus presses his hands together happily. "Yes. XJ9 is one of us!" The mech is even in her likeness, but the worst part is that Jenny is restrained inside of it, giving it power. "Her very essence powering the ultimate doomsday machine!"
She flinches as she gets overpowered in her mind, turning dark green. "No one on Earth, not even Wakeman, will be able to stop us! Ms. Mecha is not only without her partner, but vulnerable in every aspect! She won't dare to attack us with XJ9 as our power!"
Tuck and Brad still scream inside Jenny's house. Amy shakes her head slowly as she's getting a headache. "Boys, stop," Nora tries to assure them. "Everything will be fine. XJ9 has battled the Cluster before and beaten them, even before Ms. Mecha came along. The only problem would be if The Cluster somehow assimilated her."
"But what if they do that?" Tuck asks in a panic, holding his cheeks.
"Impossible," Nora waves it off. A loud shake is felt, Tuck hugging his brother as he, Brad, and Amy look down at the floor. Nora raises a confused eyebrow as Amy walks over to them.
"Um, what is that?"
She opens the door and they look on in shock. "Did I say impossible? I meant improbable, by which I mean—they've done it!" They see Jenny inside the doomsday device. "They've taken over XJ9!"
"We have taken over XJ9," Smythus announces a few seconds later.
"Isn't that what I just said?" Nora asks in annoyance, raising a brow.
"We have returned her to her people. Or rather, to her robots. Or to her robot people. Anyway. Scatter, puny humans, for you have no one to save you," Smythus flies past with the mech as it steps on a car. "And how apropos that the human who made her shall be the first one XJ9 destroys." Nora smiles nervously at the boys. "Say goodnight, Mommy." Smythus laughs evilly and Amy flies from the house to make her presence known.
"Not if I have anything to say about it!"
"You..." Smythus glares and then points at her. "Change tactics, destroy your partner and then destroy Mommy Dearest!"
The mech makes her hand into a blaster and then points it at Amy, who narrows her eyes. She fires little lasers and Amy flies around them easily. Smythus growls at this, the mech forming its hand into a cannon and the brunette circles around the blasts, her hands behind her back casually as she yawns, the blasts going right past her.
"Is that all you got, you overgrown cockroach?" Amy calls out mockingly to Smythus.
"No," He smirks a little. The mech raises its arm and then slams down on Amy, causing her to crash into the basement. The trio scream in alarm at her being defeated.
Once that was done, the blaster is then aimed at the others. Brad and Tuck turn to Nora nervously. "So, um, what do we do now?"
Nora pauses and then runs off in a panic, screaming. She hides underneath a table, shaking in fear. The two brothers glance at each other and join her. The blaster is fired, this time as a giant laser that hit the top of Brad and Nora's heads, but not Tuck since he's too short. This makes them all bald, though, and the table disappears to let the furniture land on their heads. "Oh, kids today," Nora turns to the boys. "You feed them, you clothe them, then they come back to destroy you. We're doomed!"
"No, you're not!"
They all look up at the new voice, seeing all of Jenny's sisters out of the basement! Amy stands proudly nearby, her hands on her hips. "Prototypes XJ1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8! What are you girls doing awake?"
"When Jenny became part of the Cluster, a silent alarm was triggered. After Ms. Mecha crash-landed in the basement, she told us everything that happened," XJ5 explains to her, floating in front of her mother.
"She told me about them, so I figured that they'd be just as strong as she is," Amy lies through her teeth...well, not technically, she as Ms. Mecha doesn't know them on a personal level unlike Amy does.
"Do you really think you can stop her, XJ5?" Nora asks hopefully since normally Jenny would be stopping the threat, and now she is the threat.
"Hey, we may be earlier versions of XJ9, but we can still kick some serious butt!" XJ5 defends, Amy smiling and pumping a fist.
"Exactly!"
"Excuse me, but why is everything always about Jenny?" XJ6 walks over to the duo. "I'll bet if I was captured by some alien robot race, nobody's silent alarm would go off. And why is she the only one who gets a crime-fighting partner?" She gestures to Amy, who looks annoyed.
"What are you talking about? That's crazy," XJ5 states while they stare each other down.
"Yeah, you're just jealous," XJ4 adds in, Amy shaking her head silently.
"Jealous? Jealous of what?"
All three start arguing with each other XJ1 starting to cry oil. Amy looks between all of them in disbelief. "At this rate, we'll never leave the house," XJ7 laments sadly. "Let alone save Jenny."
"Oh no, you didn't," XJ7 remarks and Amy grunts as she watches this go on. She squeezes her eyes shut, remembering when she first met Jenny, becoming a superhero, and Jenny sacrificing herself to the Cluster so that Amy's identity wouldn't be discovered. All of that combined with the fighting has pushed her limits.
"STOP!" She shouts at the top of her lungs, causing everyone to turn to her. "We have more things to focus on right now. Jenny...Jenny's my best friend, she saved me from getting captured by the Cluster," She says sadly, frowning. "If it wasn't for her, I'd probably be where she is right now. I didn't bump into you for you guys to argue, it's because I need your help," She gives them a pleading look. "This world needs Jenny, but she also needs you right now."
"Ms. Mecha is correct. This arguing is inefficient and counterproductive to our main objective," XJ8 agrees with her. "We leave now," She grabs the rest of them and crashes through the roof, the three flying after them.
Nora and the boys brace themselves as debris falls from the ceiling. "I reiterate: we're doomed," Nora states without having any faith in them. The mech reaches in and tries to grab her, and she jumps to the side.
"Well, you are, anyway," Brad tells her, pointing at the woman. Another fist goes through the ceiling, surprising both him and Tuck. "A second hand?!" He panics upon seeing it.
"Who would have guessed?" Tuck adds in, and all of them scream as they run in opposite directions. Smythus just laughs evilly at this.
"My brilliant plan's working perfectly. I must remember to congratulate myself later. Huh?!" He turns to the side to see the 8 sisters and Amy flying towards him. "More Wakeman robots?" XJ3 and XJ8 arrive, the former punching and kicking at the legs. XJ3 summons hammers, but when she touches the mech, she falls completely apart. The mech gets zapped by XJ2 repeatedly, and it continues attacking in all directions. She hits a car, a man's head to make him bald, a dog house, and a wall to a bathroom. Brad, Tuck, and Nora duck as she aims for them next.
"XJ2, please hold your breath before you continue blasting!" Nora calls out. She does so...but then farts it out and continues to do so. Amy winces a little at this, but then summons a hammer, knocking it against the mech...but it has no effect and the hammer crumbles to bits onto the ground. Amy gives a sound of shock, grateful that for once she's not a robot since that's the equivalent of losing a limb...
"Now, don't you worry, citizens," XJ7 tries to ease some bystanders. "We're here to stop our bigger, stronger, faster sister from crushing you, hitting you, blasting you to bits, or pulverizing you into dust."
After she explains all of that, they scream and disappear into thin air. The mech knocks down XJ8 and XJ2. XJ8 lands in grass, creating a whole and XJ4 starts cleaning it up. "We should really try not to make such a mess when being pummeled."
"Ha! This is all that's left to defend Earth?" Smythus points down at them in disbelief. "The scrap metal bridgade?"
"Come on, girls," XJ5 speaks up as she, Amy and the others gather into a group. "Let's work as a team." She flies off and turns into a saw. The others fly into the sky ax XJ3 shifts her arms and legs to attach herself to XJ2. XJ3 links up with XJ5 to turn into a buzz saw. XJ8 shifts into a cannon, XJ4 turning into a ball. XJ1 summons an eye while XJ6 turns into a beacon, the four turning into a laser.
"Hmm, interesting," Smythus smirks a little upon seeing this. "If they survive, they might be useful."
Amy turns her right arm into a giant drill. The makeshift buzz saw heads for the mech...but XJ5 slips off from XJ3's hands, falling towards the ground. XJ2 and XJ3 hit the mech and break off, the mech knocking them into the grass. The laser cannon fires for the mech, which looks up at XJ1. She looks at it and starts to get frightened, soiling the cannon with oil. She starts to cry and XJ4 breaks off to comfort her.
"Oh, there, there, XJ1, don't cry. It's okay." Because she breaks off, the rest of the cannon falls into the mech's hand. Amy grunts and flies in, ready to use the drill to try and break apart the mech from the outside. But then the mech holds up the three robots and she skids to a screeching halt. She gives a conflicting look as she doesn't want to hurt any of them, even if it meant that she'd get her best friend back. The mech flicks off the sisters before swinging and hitting Amy, causing her to fly backwards. She crashes into the 8 robots that were in the hole. She groans as her armor is now damaged and she slowly sits up, gritting her teeth. "If she's going to trash us, the least she could do is dispose of us in a proper receptacle!"
"That's the least of our worries now..." Amy sighs, rubbing a temple. She looks at her armor, thankful that right now it's strong enough to stay on. Otherwise, her identity would be known to the world.
"Why are we even trying?" XJ7 rolls over to them. "She's unstoppable with all that Cluster power."
Amy's about to say something when Smythus interrupts her. "Yes, she is. And she'll be even more unstoppable once she's tricked out with some extra attachments," Smythus laughs evilly as Jenny turns the right hand into a magnet, pointing it at the 9. XJ2 starts to get pulled in, with XJ4 trying to hold her back. They both get captured and absorbed into the magnet to turn into shoulder cannons. XJ3 and XJ7 are taken next, and then XJ6 comes up.
"What, I'm not good enough to be absorbed first?" She complains as she's taken too. Amy pulls out her own giant magnet from her metal fist, pointing at XJ6. She tries to pull her back in, but Jenny's magnet is too strong as XJ6 is pulled in. Amy falls to the ground once she loses her grip on XJ6, looking up in alarm. XJ7 becomes a sword, XJ6 also becoming one. XJ3 turns into two antennas.
"She's getting bigger," XJ8 tells XJ5 and Amy. "We must fight faster, hit harder."
"But if we get too close, we'll become weapons too!" Amy points out while biting her lip, unsure of what to do.
"She's right," XJ5 turns to them. "We have to stop fighting the machine around her and start appealing to the sister or partner within her. Jenny, I know you're in there. Please stop. You're hurting the ones you love," XJ5 actually sounds heartbroken while talking to her sister. "You have to find the strength to break free. Please? We love you."
"We need you, Jenny! The Earth needs you," Amy gestures to Tremorton. "You and I are their only hope 24/7 to save them from the constant attacks from monsters, the Cluster isn't where you belong. Snap out of it! I can't do this alone..."
Brad, Nora, and Tuck stare as they wait for a response. XJ5 looks optimistic...but gets magnetized and absorbed. She becomes a saw on the back, Amy looking horrified. "Come on!" She waves over XJ1 and XJ8 as she runs past them. However, XJ8 puts XJ1 into Amy's arms, flying towards the mech and attacking it head on. To the mech, however, she acts like a fly and Jenny summons a fly swatter. "XJ8, no!" Amy cries out in concern. The robot gets hit, flying into the air. She then falls straight into the mech's mouth, earning sounds of disgust from the trio. XJ8 makes the mech more buff and sharper.
XJ1 shakes in fear, Amy holding her close in a protective way. The mech looms over them and Amy rolls away safely as the mech attacks with the lasers. She rushes over to the trio inside the house as fast as she can since her armor is too damaged for her to fly. XJ1 then jumps into Nora's arms. "There, there. It's okay. Somewhere. Just not here," She says while trying to comfort the robot, but at the same time, it seems all hope is lost.
Then the mech lifts up the house and rips it apart to reveal the four. "Yes, the sweet taste of victory," Smythus brags while Amy stands in front of the group ready to fight if necessary. She may be hurt, but she'd rather risk her identity than to let them get hurt. "It was inevitable. As was your annihilation!"
It seems that there was no way to win...until XJ1 barfs oil onto Jenny's face. She coughs as she shakes her head, snapping out of it. "Ewww," She comments in disgust at her face. "Baby barf...huh? What's going on?" She looks around in confusion.
"Jenny!" Brad calls out to her.
"Brad?" She then glares up at Smythus. "Smythus..."
"Uh oh..."
"Jenny, he kidnapped you and made you into this!" Amy points at him, Jenny giving a shocked look. "When I got your sisters out of the basement, well...that happened," She gestures to the mech's body, the robot gasping sharply upon seeing all of her sisters attached to the mech.
"Well...you know what that means," Jenny says knowingly with an amused brow.
"Yep. Time to kick his butt," Amy smirks knowingly at Smythus, who gives a nervous look. Jenny breaks herself free from within, and the mech completely falls apart because she was the sole controller. All her sisters emerge from the pile perfectly okay. XJ8 holds up XJ7.
"Nooooo!" Smythus shouts in agony over his failure. "I was so close!"
Amy and Jenny fly in unison to face him. "You're through, Smythus."
"Good luck getting out of this one," Amy glares at him, fists clenched.
He creates a beam to suck up all the Cluster aliens. "You've not seen the last of me, XJ9 and Ms. Mecha! Be forewarned that the mighty Smythus may lose a battle, but never the war. I shall return and vengeance shall be-"
"Blah, blah, blah," Jenny interrupts while they're floating in front of him, Amy rolling her eyes.
"You know, you oughta drop the monologues," She comments to him. "You villains waste time on doing them way too much."
"Really?" He asks her in surprise.
"We got two words for you, Smythus, penalty kick," They move their legs back and kick him into the tear, which then closes. The two smile and high-five each other.
"Goal!" Tuck cheers happily and they land in front of the boys.
"So you guys okay?" She asks the two. They glance at each other for a few seconds.
"Sure."
"Oh, yeah."
The boys both give two thumbs up. "My nervous twitch should be gone by tomorrow," Tuck states as his left eye twitches twice.
"Well, lesson learned," XJ5 speaks up and they turn to her. "If you can't appeal to her heart, appeal to her disgust of barf," She glances down at XJ1.
"I couldn't have done it without you, little one," Jenny smiles happily at XJ1, who beeps and jumps happily. "You can say that again."
All of them erupt into laughter and then all of the sisters shut down from being away for so long. "Yes, yes, yes, thanks for saving the world," Nora pushes them all away into a pile. "Now back to the basement with you."
The four just stare after her in disbelief as they'll never understand why she even has them in the basement in the first place.
"Wait! Where's Amy? I hope she's okay," Brad looks around and Amy flinches in alarm, saluting.
"That's my cue to leave. Bye!" She grabs Jenny's arm, leaning in towards her. "Get me outta here, now."
Jenny flies away into the sky and they look up as the two disappear. When in reality, that was a way for Amy to transform back while flying as they land behind Amy's house...which has a few holes in the exterior thanks to the stray lasers. "Oh, man," Amy complains at this. "Even when your mom didn't do anything, my house still manages to get affected by something related to her...I'm gonna have fun explaining this later to my parents."
"Sorry..." Jenny rubs the back of her neck. "But hey, I'll explain everything. Technically, I'm the one who did it..." She looks away guiltily and Amy pats her back.
"Hey, the Cluster mind-controlled you. Nothing to be sorry about," She shrugs a little. "But also...never sacrifice your life for mine ever again!" She shouts in slight anger, Jenny recoiling back. "We're crime-fighting partners for a reason. I watch your back, and you watch mine."
"Deal," Jenny smiles and they fist bump happily.
