Chapter 30 : Catching up
'Shit , what hour is it ?'-Shinji thought as he looked at his phone and realized it was 3:00 in the morning while stumbling inside the elevator , for a few hours Shinji alongside the rest of the capsules were rebuilding their position on their territories alongside rebuilding the alliances with other gangs . Shinji had so much fun grabbing life by horns again that he lost the feeling of time. As he reached the 16th floor he stumbled out of the elevator while releasing a jaw cracking yawn before finally reaching his apartment and opening the door to reveal Misato
"Oh , hey"-Shinji said as he looked at Misato who had a mix of tiredness and anger
"You don't pick up the phone , you fall under the ground for a couple of hours . Shinji , i get that you are home but its still a dumb idea to wander around alone in the most dangerous city on this continent"-Misato said as Shinji chuckled
"Really Misato ? I live here , this is my home. I know what to do around here , I have pals and people to pull myself out . I'm going to bed , also you should"-Shinji said as he went to his room leaving the puzzled Misato alone. 'I don't know what to do with him anymore , Shinji , just be careful'-Misato thought as she went to the bedroom to go to sleep. Meanwhile Shinji was trying to maneuver between Rei sleeping on the floor and Asuka sleeping on his futon. After he took off his clothes Shinji snuggled to Asuka before immediately falling asleep. Before being cut out by the Kamen Rider Black RX alarm clock
"WAKE UP ! WAKE UP ! WAKE UP !"-the clock was announcing though the words of the op as Shinji woke up and turned off the clock before noticing it was 9:00 . As he put down the alarm clock back on the bedside table Asuka and Rei woke up
"Oh hey Shinji"-Asuka said as gave him a quick kiss on the lips while he stroked Rei's hair
"Morning , sorry I took so long yesterday , or maybe this morning ? Anyways we had to clean the streets from the clowns and fix some loose ends"-Shinji said as he took out some underwear out of his wardrobe and grabbed his biker clothes
"So , what do we do today ?"-Asuka asked as she took out a comb out of her bag and began to comb Rei's hair
"Today we're going to catch up with some friends , but now it's breakfast time. Besides what were you doing while i was executing street justice ?"-Shinji asked as he reached for ammo boxes he had in his wardrobe and reloaded his berettas
"Ah nothing , we played some games on the PS2 and read some manga we found in your wardrobe and drawers"-Asuka said as Shinji turned to her
"You didn't read my "Special" box right ?"-Shinji asked as Asuka nodded
"Relax ,your tiny fapfolder is safe and we didint touch it . Besides, why the hell read Doujinshi when you had internet ?"-Asuka asked as Shinji unfolded his arms before making his way out of the room and made his way towards the bathroom. As a few minutes passed Shinji brushed his teeth and took a quick shower . As he opened the door out of the bathroom he looked at the queue of Misato Asuka and Rei
"Finally !"-Misato happily announced as she jolted towards the bathroom before closing it as Asuka began to punch the door
"Damn you Misato ! We also need the toilet !"-Asuka screamed as Misato giggled inside . Shinji meanwhile just frowned and made his way towards the fridge as he opened it he jolted on his back as he saw Pen-Pen sitting on bottom floor of the fridge
"Goddamn ! Don't scare me like that !"-Shinji said as Pen-Pen got out of the fridge and grabbed one of the beers that weren't devoured by Misato. Shinji sighed and grabbed some things out of the fridge and began to make breakfast for them . As another 30 minutes passed Shinji prepared Rice and toast alongside Miso soup for all of them. As he put them down he noticed that his phone was ringing on the counter . As he grabbed it he noticed that the number was Mana
"Hello ?"-Shinji asked as he heard sounds of a chopper on the other side of the phone
"Hey Shinji , i have a mission in Neogoya so i'm heading over there , judging by the social media you are there so how about meeting ?"-Mana said as Shinji looked at the breakfast before grabbing a coke zero out of the fridge
"What happened with "I will never return there" ?"-Shinji asked as Mana frowned on the other side of the phone
"Orders are orders , i'm gonna call you when i'll have time"-Mana said as she closed the call while the helicopter was taking off
"What are we supposed to do in that hellhole ?"-Musashi asked as Mana opened the folder she received from their superiors
"Apparently we need to meet some people from WILLE to exchange information about NERV . They picked us since I have experience there , and you two tagged along"-Mana said as she looked at Musashi and Keita. Meanwhile hundreds of kilometers away Shinji alongside his roomates , and Pen-Pen began to dig up their food while the morning tv program on NHK Neogoya was playing in the background
"Ok kiddos , i have some meetings with "Big Important people from corpo" . So Shinji , you are left to guard the girls"-Misato said as she put on her jacket and grabbed her documents before putting them inside her folder before quickly jugging down last beer and leaving the apartment , as the door closed Shinji began to wash the dishes with the help of Asuka and Rei . As minutes passed Shinji was back in his room as Asuka and Rei played Motogp 14 on Split Screen while Shinji was doing some cleanup in his wardrobe , that meant fixing his shoes and other wardrobe accesories with duct tape
"Alrighty , another circle around and done"-Shinji said as he worked on another pair of beat up nikes while on the tv Rei won another race
"Dang it Rei , how the hell did you get so good ?"-Asuka asked as they decided to switch to another track
"I watched how my brother was riding his motorcycle and remembered how he lined it up on the road. I saw it so much that I memorized how to do it on the control pad"-Rei said as she lifted up the Dualshock 2 . Asuka shrugged as she looked at Shinji who worked with his shoes pants and old jackets with duct tape in hand
"Why are you working on this junk ? Shouldn't you just throw it out ?"-Asuka asked as Shinji turned towards her with an expression that looked like a mix of anger and surprise.
"Are you crazy ? Those are the best memoirs , look , my first jacket !"-Shinji said as he took out a tiny jacket out of one of the drawers. As Asuka looked at it she imagined a tiny Shinji wearing it and proudly pointing to himself and saying in a childish voice "I am the Highway Star !". Asuka giggled as kept thinking about chibi Shinji punching a clown before taking out a giant hammer and decapitating the clown with it. As Shinji returned to fix the memoirs he heard the doorbell sound
"Guests ?"-Asuka asked as Shinji went up towards the door , as he opened it it revealed Rai Kichirou alongside two bodyguards
"Oh , Kichirou-san !"-Shinji said surprised as he shaked his hand
"Hello Shinji , i knew you were back so i decided to check on you , besides i also have an assignment for you"-Mr Kichirou said as he walked inside the apartment while Asuka took a look out of the doorsill to not be detected by Shinji
"Assignment ? What is it ? A robbery ? An assasination ?"-Shinji asked as Mr.Kichirou laughed
"Why would I assign something as extreme ? To ruin your future career ? Mayumi comes back from Switzerland and I need someone to pick her up from the airport , since most of my people are dealing with NERV. Poor girl doesn't have a pick-up . And as a good uncle I wouldn't send her a cab or get her on a train since both of us know what this means for a young girl who cannot defend herself. Besides only an imbecile would be dumb enough to wander around Neogoya without knowing important people , or a gun. Besides, I also have some deals for 2016. Since you still have your racing license"-Mr Kichirou said as they sat down at the table before he took out several papers out of his briefcase . Shinji took a look at them and noticed that they were papers for racing in MFJ superbike series
"Mr.Kichirou , I really appreciate that you want to help me . But i'm not ready yet , i lack the experience to ride in MFJ"-Shinji said as he put down the contract offers back on the table , most of them were from either mid-field or from front running teams .
"Shinji, listen , you peaked here . You cannot stand in place , the first time your uncle made me put a bet in one of the local underground leagues , I saw-oh no let's rephrase that"-Mr.Kichirou said as he got up from one of the chairs and lit up a cigarette. Meanwhile Asuka was looking out of the doorsill listening to the conversation. 'MFJ ? That's the Japanese equivalent for MotoGP . Mein Gott , this is Shinji's shot towards the stars !'-Asuka thought ecstatic as she continued to listen

And I saw the same thing with you , from a scrawny scared boy who was thrown away I saw transform into the Highway Star , probably one of the greatest motorcycle racers from our country that never put their leg on a track , and I know , no , i'm certain that you are 10 times better than most of current grids across our continent . You are still just 14 , so doors to career are still opened , and as not only a secret organized crime boss but also a businessman who owns shares in numerous companies , like JTI and that allows me to put a Benson & Hedges or a Mild Seven livery on a Honda or a Suzuki. You are not just a racer , you also became a symbol of rebellion across Japan with thousands of youths following your every step , like here"-Mr.Kichirou said as he took out his phone to reveal the video of Shinji passing the 720 kilometer barrier on the JSSDF airport in Tokyo 3
"Wait , how did you ?"-Shinji asked as Mr.Kichirou chuckled
"You have a very dedicated fan base , if they want something with you they will get it . You became a symbol of fighting the status quo , and it's time you should start doing it on the level that you deserve , people saw you fighting that alien . They know you , and they want to see you conquering europe , i'm sure that in 2017 or 2018 you will be somewhere in europe fighting with Europeans , africans or americans since it obvious that the local leagues won't be a challenge for you , besides after you will finish saving the world the mere recognition of having someone that known and important would attract tons of merchandising. Like Elvis Presley without the shitty manager , just paint the Highway Star star on a purple helmet and people will know who you are. Besides, you are not thinking about just yourself anymore right ?"-Mr.Kichirou asked as he pointed to Asuka who disappeared behind the doorsill with shame of being detected as Shinji looked at his knees
"Girlfriend ? Mayumi will be so disappointed. Is she good ?"-Mr.Kichirou asked as Shinji smiled
"She's the best , she is just like me . Someone who pushes towards the impossible to reach the stars. Without her I would be a depressed child with a broken bike and an SDAT. It was thanks to her help that I broke the 720 barrier. And if she would slap me for being such an idiot to not break the status quo of beating amatures and getting into fights and fire exchanges and finally prove myself on the track , and i know she's right and we would have a long conversation about it later"-Shinji said as he again took the contract offers in his hands and begun to re-read them. Meanwhile Asuka was blushing like crazy 'Well , i would do that if he directly rejected it'-Asuka thought as Shinji finished rereading the offers
"You know what sir ? Screw it , I'll check the best offers and give you a call . I'll do it"-Shinji said as Mr.Kichirou smiled
"I knew you would finally agree , it's time to grow up and it's nice to see it. My intake will call you tomorrow when Mayumi will reach Neogoya , and remember Highway Supernova . Shine brightly !"-Mr.Kichirou said as he left Shinji's apartment while Asuka walked out of Shinji's room with a ecstatic grin on her face
"You really wanted to turn down such an offer ?! Only someone who would want to destroy his own career on purpose !"-Asuka said as she grabbed some of the offers and began to read them in silence
"You sir , have the backing of JTI ? Tobacco companies still run motorsport , since you agreed we have a ticket inside every team on the MFJ grid"-Asuka said exited as Shinji thought about his late uncle's collection of vintage MotoGP and WSBK t-shirts that he kept inside his drawer that Shinji also inherited and cherise protected , his favorites being the cigarette brand ones like with yamaha marlboro or Gauloises
"So , how do you think I would look in Mild Seven blue ?"-Shinji said as he turned around as Asuka giggled
"I think Benson & Hedges yellow would also look great on you , or maybe the wings gold would look good"-Asuka said as Shinji also giggled
"Alrighty then , i think i should go take a drive across the district to see around the views since i kinda miss them"-Shinji said as he made his way towards the wardrobe that was standing next to the door
"I want to go with you , i really want to see the local no man's round , what about you Rei ?"-Asuka asked as Rei continued the career mode in MotoGP 14.
"I dont require such a drive , brother said that he will take me the other time"-Rei said as Shinji nodded
"Yep , i want to take Rei alone during this vacation"-Shinji said as both of them said goodbye to Rei and left the apartment. As they closed the door Asuka felt something soft under her shoe. As her sight went down she noticed a drunk sleeping on the floor as Asuka took her foot of the hand
"Eww"-Asuka said with disgust as they made their way towards the elevator
"Again , welcome to Neogoya . my foot landed on 20 or so drunks during the last year only"-Shinji said as the elevator went down while the duo was focusing on the colorful ads that were on the elevator TV. As they reached the ground floor the duo made their way towards the car elevator as Shinji put in the code before the elevator revealed the HS finale , Shinji used his phone to unlock the motorcycle as the turntable turned to put the bike in front of them .
"I'll start the sequence and-"-Shinji was cutted off by Asuka
"Actually I want to try to start it up myself , I helped build it so I think i memorized it"-Asuka said as she went towards it and jumped on it . Shinji remained skeptical that Asuka could've done it. But he decided to give it a fair shot. Meanwhile Asuka looked at the switches that were on the handlebars and beside the display screen
"Ok , 1-2 on the right for the engine , 3 for the ignition of the enhancers , on the right 1 for the parashoot , 2-4 for the NOS , clutch and start"-Asuka said as the main engine and the two sub engines came to live sending the thunderous roar across the eighth district as she rode up towards Shinji
"It's all yours"-Asuka said as Shinji put on his goggles and gloves before finally getting on and riding off towards the nonexistent destination. As they rode, Shinji decided to explore the various tiny streets that were scattered across the eighth district. Since most people went to work in either closer or further districts the streets were mostly deserted. As they rode across the eighth district Asuka held onto Shinji as she watched the neons and people carrying out their lives. They stopped at the redlight
"How does it feel ?"-Shinji asked as Asuka coughed
"There is a lot of smog around here , but it has its climate . Like Blade Runner"-Asuka said as they heard sounds of numerous engines passing them in the across the another alleyway witch caught Asuka's attention , and she noticed that the riders weared clown masks
"Shinji , clowns"-Asuka said as Shinji turned her head towards Asuka who had an expression that mixed anger with seriousness
"No joker wannabes are gonna be wandering around the capsules territory when im on the guard, Asuka , in my left inside pocket I have my px4. Hold on tight , we're going trash cleaning"-Shinji said as Asuka grabbed the px4 and put it inside her bomber jacket pocket. Shinji switched the gear to reverse and both of them rode back before he turned right as he jolted towards alleyway before they powerslided to left as they decided to slowly follow them though alleys while switching to the disc energy to keep it silent. As they hid behind a crossing of the streets as they sneaked out their heads to the street to see what's going on
"Is that Kaneda's bike ? But where is the owner ? Wait , Tetsuo ?"-Shinji said as Asuka was also checking the terrain
"Wait , holy crap they are beating up a girl ! We head in !"-Asuka said as she loaded the px4 while Shinji also took a look to the street to see what Asuka meant
"Holy shit ! Kaori ! We enter in ! Asuka when I give the signal you take the handlebars !"-Shinji said as Asuka nodded and Shinji switched to reverse. Before he switched to gear 1 too pick up the speed and blasted out of the alleyway to the street as Shinji counted the meters in his mind
"NOW !"-Shinji said as he let go of the clutch and the throttle before they were taken by Asuka .Shinji grabbed his 21A and sent out an entire magazine towards the clowns . As they noticed from where the fire was coming from they freaked out
"SHIT ! BACKUP !"-one of them said as they rode away while Asuka stopped the bike and both of them got off
"Holy crap , What the hell happened here ?! Tetsuo ! You took Kaneda's bike for a joyride again !"-Shinji screamed as he grabbed Tetsuo by the collar
"Hey ! He deserved it ! I'm tired of your bitching just because you're both leaders !"-Tetsuo screamed as Shinji looked at him and than at Kaori
"And look at Kaori , because of your menstruation moment she now has a black eye , and since Kaneda is not around here I'm your commander so listen here , since we're old friends i'm gonna let it slide. But next time something like that happens there will be repercussions , is that understood ?"-Shinji asked in the most commanding voice he could
"Fine , oh look . Kaneda is coming , he probably threw a search party"-Tetsuo said as Shinji heard numerous engines coming towards them before feeling a hand on his shoulder
"Maybe we should help"-Asuka said as Shinji was reminded about Kaori
"Ah yes Kaori , sorry for taking so long . I had to reprimand your boyfriend"-Shinji said as he and Asuka knelt down to see the damage
"It's just a blackeye , a bag of ice and it should help you there ! Go to the nearest drug store and get some ice !"-Asuka said as she pointed at Tetsuo
"And who the hell are you supposed to be ?!"-Tetsuo screamed as the duo helped Kaori get up
"Thank you for help Shinji , and i see you brought a friend"-Kaori said as she looked at Asuka , as Asuka wanted to introduce herself three bikes stopped beside them
"Tetsuo ! Oh Shin , thank god you showed up , how many times do i have to say to not take my rides for a swing ?!. Yamagata , Kai . Get those two back to the orphanage , Aiko will help with the blackeye . Oi Shin ,and i see you brought your girlfriend , might introducing yourself ?"-Kaneda asked as he tried to act surprised since he knew thanks to Mari who Asuka was.Yamagata and Kaisuke Meanwhile shared a look with What Shinji could read from their eyes was the sentence "I thought he was gay". Or at least that's what Shinji thought
"Oh , im Asuka , Soryu Asu-"-Asuka was cut off by the sound of police sirens
"SHIT COPS ! YAMA AND KAI GET THOSE TWO TO THE ORPHANAGE ! SHIN YOU WITH ME !"-Kaneda said as Shinji nodded and he alongside Asuka got on the HS finale and as quickly as possible he could he did the starting sequence before all four bikes jolted away leaving an empty street. As they rode they split off while Asuka was looking behind her to see if the cops were gaining on them
"They're gaining on us !"-Asuka said as Shinji looked at Kaneda
"Kaneda ! What is our plan ?!"-Shinji screamed as Kaneda looked at them
"Got it ! We go through the alleyways and get to the 6 district through the alleyways ! After that we get to the sewers and escape the cops through the sewer canals !"-Kaneda screamed as Shinji nodded and both of them made their way through the 7th district though the numerous alleyways , Shinji who loved escaping the cops felt the adrenaline rush through him like the a Fighter plane felt nervous as he knew that Asuka was on his back and didn't want to get her in trouble , the worst thing was that Shinji was only using the second gear and he could lose the cops in no time but the street loyalty was completely cutting out that option due to Kaneda being Shinji's superior in the capsules and being one of his best friends. As they reached the 6th district they left the alleyways as the police siren sounds while becoming weary could be still heard , Shinji and Asuka alongside Kaneda left the alleyways and got on the main road that was being seperated with the other side by the sewer canal ,
"To get them off we have to jump !"-Kaneda screamed as Shinji nodded while Asuka frightened
"Are you crazy ?! Its literally impossible , also i cannot Imagine the damage to the suspension ! Its a race bike not a motocross !"-Asuka screamed as Shinji chuckled
"This is why we designed the suspension to be as durable as it could , it's because i learn from my mistakes , grab on !"-Shinj said as Asuka took a look at the display to see that Shinji switched off the two wheel drive and switched to rear only as he speeded up and noticed that it was only 199 km/h
"And how do you plan to do it ? There is nothing to bump off from !"-Asuka screamed as also took a look at Shinji left Hand that one of its fingers landed on the Trigger for the enhancers , Asuka immediately knew what he planned so she grabbed him as tightly as she could before Shinji got closer to the edge of the road , and with the help of Asuka in the back managed to put the bike on the rear wheel as he activated the Priss enhancers making the regular engine stop working and two surges of energy made the ability to slightly lift off the ground as Shinji leaded the bike inside the sewer canal while the time around seemed to slow around them Shinji managed to lay frontly on the bike and make it fall on two wheels and make a fast landing as Kaneda also jumped down to the canal . A minute or so passed before they reached a closed gate that Shinji opened with his 21a and the two bikes were able to hide themselves away from the police as both of them turned off their engines to be silent , as the sound of police sirens disappeared Kaneda got off his bike and took off his goggles
"Well that was unnecessary but cool , Shame that i didn't recorded your jump"-Kaneda said as Shinji laughed
"I'm sure that there will be way more jumps to record"-Shinji said as he and Asuka got off the HS finale
"Yep , but now we're gonna have to lay down for a bit , the baldhead Shikishima is really trying to make our lives as miserable as he can"-Kaneda said as Shinji sighed in the Memory of the bald police officer.
"We could use the sewer canals to get to the HQ ? Or we could go "there""-Shinji said while putting quotations on the last word with his fingers while Kaneda immediately knew what place Shinji meant
"We could since it's not too far from here though the canals and we could use the bikes to get there , but we have a problem"-Kaneda said as he looked at Asuka
"What problem ? Oh , shit"-Shinji said as he looked at Asuka
"Why the hell am i the problem ?!"-Asuka asked as Kaneda trying to play it safe while dealing with his friend's girlfriend
"The reason is you're not a trusted person, or at least it's because I barely know you . And the place that we want to head towards is only for the mostly trusted people. And someone who is an Eva pilot and related to NERV is definitely not trustworthy . Shin is Shin so he is trusted since he knows what he knows and we also don't know if you are a NERV spy"-Kaneda finished his monologue as he noticed that Shinji had frightened expression and Asuka was looking like she was just this close to rip out Kaneda's guts
"WHY THE HELL IS THAT A PROB-Wait wait wait , i didn't say i was an Eva pilot ? You're from WILLE ! Thats the reason you're not trusting me ! Besides me and Shinji were already trying to search for truth"-Asuka exclaimed as Kaneda looked at Shinji who nodded in agreement
"Truth ? Like what do you mean ?"-Kaneda asked as Shinji breathed in and out
"Three key words: SELLE , Unit 05 , and Makinami. Also a guy by the name of Kaji . That's all we know"-Shinji said as Kaneda looked changed from puzzled to troubled .'Shit , they know things and they are deep , allright . It's all on me , also that Kaji guy got caught ? And not by a dumb NERV Gorilla but by Shinji ? This is gonna get interesting'-Kaneda thought as he nodded
"All right , if Kei gets pissed its all on me . Come on !"-Kaneda said as he got on his bike and started it while Shinji and Asuka got on the HS finale and the two bikes made their way through the sewer canal , after 10 minutes of riding the group reached a ladder and stopped their bikes before they got off them
"Come on Asuka , climb"-Shinji said as the trio began to climb the ladder up towards a sewer clap before Kaneda knocked up on it
"Kei , it's me and Shin . Open up !"-Kaneda said as the clap risen up
"Wait for me here , I'll go to Kei to explain the situation"-Kaneda said as he climbed up and after a minute of screams Kei looked through the hole to see Shinji and Asuka behind him
"Hey ! If you are wondering it's all Tetsuo's fault , besides i let you in my apartment so it would be nice if you allow us to get in , our hands are beginning to hurt"-Shinji said as Kei sighed
"Fine , come in . But it's on you ! Also during my rage Kaneda said you know some info and i want to know"-Kei said as Shinji and Asuka climbed inside Kei's room
"Thanks , I don't get why this place is so secret since I don't even know its address and-Oh , who is that ?"-Shinji asked as his eyes went to Mari who was doing something on the laptop while Kaneda and Kei had a panicked facial expression that Asuka read as 'Holy shit , were screwed' while Asuka was also wondering why while Mari and Shinji were eyeing each other
"Do we know each other ? I swear I know you from somewhere but I can't put my Finger on it"-Shinji said Mari was also eying him . 'Holy crap , I finally saw Shinji in person , he seems kinda tired . Maybe it's because he had to hold onto a ladder for few minutes'-Mari thought while Shinji and Asuka were eyeing her Kei took Kaneda aside
"We have a problem , how are we gonna explain the situation to him ?"-Kei whispered to Kaneda as he shrugged
"He will find out for himself , give him five minutes"-Kaneda whispered back as Asuka looked at them and then at Shinji and Mari . 'Something is in the air and i hate not knowing what'-Asuka thought as stared down Shinji who looked like he had a staring contest with Mari
"Heh , Hey , i know its gonna sound weird but im-"-Mari was cut out by Shinji who noticed a photo frame on her bedside table
"Wait , is that Mom and my late godmother ?"-Shinji said as he also checked the back of the photo frame
"It says Kyoto 96 , so judging by the timeframe it would be moms time in uni , but how in the right fuck"-Shinji stopped as he put down the photo took a long breath in
"ARE YOU STILL ALIVE !? AND YOU'RE STILL 16 !! YOU SHOULD BE A ROTTING CORPSE !"-Shinji screamed out loud as he looked at Mari who only corrected her glasses
"Well , that was easy , at least I don't have to do the whole explanation thing myself , you know Captain America right ?"-Mari asked as Shinji nodded

Godmom was or is a scientist and judging by her experience and that she lives here she has to know something about Unit 05-'-Shinji was cut off by a pat on the shoulder
"YOUR GIRLFRIEND PASSED OUT !"-Kei screamed as Shinji turned backwards and noticed Asuka laying down on the ground with a 'What the Fuck ?' expression as Kaneda was shaking her while trying to wake her up . Shinji immediately rushed to her as knew how to wake up
"Ok i got it , Oh that's a shame that you died , Oh well , perhaps Mana can help me pick myself up after this loss by going out for a drink ?"-Shinji said as Asuka immediately got up and slapped Shinji before grabbing him by the collar
"WERE YOU GOING TO CHEAT ON ME ?!"-Asuka screamed as Shinji smiled
"Of course not , the problem was that you passed out.I had to wake you up somehow"-Shinji said as Asuka let go of him
"So you're telling me that this four-eyes over there is your supposedly dead godmother Mari ? And that SELLE put her in a stasis pod ? What the hell even is SELLE ?"-Asuka asked as Kei and Kaneda swallowed air
"Ok , let's do this quickly. NERV is not independent , and so isn't UN"-Kei said as Shinji and Asuka turned their attention to her and Kaneda
"Wait , so SELLE is the group that controls NERV ? Like Spectre ?"-Asuka asked as Kei nodded
"The human instrumentality committee that Shinji's old Man reports to is actually a group of control freaks that were plotting to start the third Impact"-Kei said as both Shinji and Asuka's jaw went to the ground
"What , the , hell ? So , the hell on earth that is happening is the result of several old men farting in their chairs ?!"-Shinji asked as Kei and Mari nodded
"The whole reason for the third Impact is to devolve the mankind back to its pre-state , or LCL. SELLE believes that they can become gods thanks to that"-Mari said as Asuka just learned that she was bathing in unborn humans made her put her hand on her mouth
"The bathroom is on the back"-Mari said as Asuka rushed to it as Shinji also felt his stomach twist but he held it tightly in control
"And , you're helping them , after the death of the last Angel SELLE will begin the ceremony , that's why Unit 01 is so important "-Mari said as Shinji sat on the bed next to Mari
"A ceremony ? But why one-chan specifically ? Why Unit 02 or 00 cannot be used ?"-Shinji asked as Mari looked at her feet
"The reason is one , during the Katsuragi expedition to Antarctica in the Year 2000 that was funded by SELLE they discovered Adam , the first Angel . Apparently they wanted to change Adam into an Embryonic state , so they merged it with human DNA , causing the Second Impact. And the reason why Unit 01 is the only one that can be used ? Its because in contrast to other EVAS witch DNA come from Adam , Unit 01's comes from Lilith , the second Angel and the mother of humanity , and that's the key for the third Impact-Mari finished as Shinji looked at his feet completely blown away by the information
"Katsuragi , wait . Like Misato's Dad ?"-Shinji asked as Kei nodded
"Those were the only things i was able to dig out , but yes , the major of NERV and the Scientist that carried away the expedition are related , she was the only survivor , the rest of the information i couldn't look up. All of them were hoping to get from you"-Kei said as Shinji's attention got spiked up again just as Asuka left the toilet while wiping her mouth with a tissue
"Wait , info from him ?"-Asuka asked as she sat next to Shinji
"That is correct , we already knew that Shinji was gonna be a pilot since 2014 , my original assignment was to get close to him and recruit him as our spy. But Kaneda got in the way and after several misadventures that idea was scrapped . So the WILLE command decided to change you into a sleeping agent. Do you remember the bugchip that slipped into your bag ?"-Kei asked as Asuka and Shinji shared a look and together they nodded in perfect sync
"Wait , so you bailed out of the plan of seducing me because Kaneda got in the way ?"-Shinji asked surprised as he wasn't exactly hurt or angry about the information . It simply seemed weird and in some way kinda funny
"Well you cannot resist my charms"-Kaneda said as both boys chuckled and gave each other a fist pump before the situation went back to serious again
"So , I was supposed to bug someone ? And judging by that WILLE perfectly knew who it was since i would do it anyways if i learned what the bugchip was , that target is my old man right ?"-Shinji asked as Kei and Kaneda nodded
"But why was Shinji supposed to bug him if he was just SELLE's doll ?"-Asuka asked as Mari sighed
"There is also a third player on this table , Gendo wants to take control of the third Impact , this is why he abandoned you , you were supposed to be completely in his grip to do what he wanted so that you would pull the string to lead to the third Impact , and you"-Mari stopped as she looked at Asuka
"Judging by how you are not important to the scenario in the wider look , you are supposed to be the one that will be sacrificed to snap Shinji in its entirety"-Mari said as Asuka fell to her knees as her whole world shattered in a blink of an eye , the years of training , were so she would be killed off for some stupid ritual ceremony ?
"So , i'm just NERV's doll ?"-Asuka asked as tears began to form in her eyes before Shinji hugged her from behind while whispering to her ear
"Don't worry Prinzessin , i will stop it , if its the last thing i do . And you will have time to shine . My old Man will rot in prison and we will have sex on SELLE members corpses . I promise"-Shinji said as he got back on his feet
"But how do you know that my old Man wants a piece of action too ?"-Shinji asked as Mari patted him on the back
"Apparently WILLE has another intake in NERV , apparently someone close to Gendo ratted him out to us"-Mari said as Shinji had set a new main point after the return to Tokyo 3. That was to find out who was the intake and to form an alliance with him to take down Gendo and SELLE
"So , I have a mission . And that is to my old man . Ok , but what about Unit 05 ? Why is it so important ?"-Shinji asked as Mari again patted his back
"It's because to stand the chance against SELLE and Gendo we need our own Evas , and we already have a way to capture it back from the Dirac sea. But we need to know when the Unit 05 test is gonna take place , only Gendo knows that so that's why we need it , also additional information that could be useful"-Mari said as Shinji looked like he hadn't slept in weeks thanks to the information he was receiving , he also looked at Asuka who was just getting back on her feet
"I need a drink , a highly Alcohol one if i can ask"-Asuka said as Shinji lifted up his hand
"I double that , i really need to shake it off"-Shinji said as Mari lifted her hand up
"I triple that , the reason is that i want to get wasted"-Mari said as Kaneda also lifted up his hand
"I quadruple that , the same reason as Mari"-Kaneda said as Mari shot him with a Finger gun
"You said it red"-Mari said as Kei also lifted up her hand up
"I quintuple that because i have to meet with some JSSDF people to exchange information they have about NERV in Harukiya so we should head there"-Kei said as the group made their way towards the obscure bar. Kaneda , Shinji and Asuka used their bikes while Kei and Mari got there by public transport. After 30 minutes the group met up and the quintet, thanks to alcohol, began to ease up the situation that was so stiff after their talk about the end of the world . Mari and Shinji got along really well as Asuka was watching happily knowing that her boyfriend had another family member besides Rei and forgetting about her supposed Fate , the party was going well until Kei received a text from the supposed JSSDF person
"Ok , act well since this is very important for WILLE"-Kei said as Shinji and Kaneda turned on their chairs as the door to the bar opened to reveal the supposed "JSSDF emissaries" . That were Mana Musashi and Keita . The facial expressions on the two Capsules and Mana's were downright shocked
"Shit"-Mana said as she walked up closer
"Shit"-Shinji repeated her while taking a sip of his drink
"Shit"-Kaneda also repeated probably the most surprised as one of the people he knew in childhood was now working with the JSSDF and from shock let go of his drink as Kei looked at them with a 'What the fuck ?' expression as Asuka also turned on her chair to see what's going on. And as she turned she took another sip of her drink
"This is gonna be a long night"
A/N: another chapter done ! Shinji finally met up with Mari and learned the truth about NERV , now we enter another long story arc that will set us up for the preparation for the le grande finale . And i didnt want to expose Rei being a clone of Yui just yet , this is gonna wait
