Jenny places a keep out sign in front of her bedroom door. She then places a steel door over it, stepping back as it gets padlocked. She then closes the curtains, preparing a toilet plunger crossbow. She fires it at all of the monitors that overlook her room. She flies around in the sky and pulls out her phone, landing on the bed. "Brad, Amy, it's Jenny," She smiles as she drinks some oil.
"Hey, Jen," They both greet her.
"Whoa! You have three-way calling?" Brad asks in excitement.
"I'm a robot," She tells him plain and simple.
"I can't believe you did that today!"
"I know," She smiles into the phone. "Can you imagine if you-know-who found out?"
"Psh! Would that really be your biggest problem?" Amy scoffs playfully while Piri sits in front of her. She's in Piri's bedroom trying to braid her hair for some playdate she has today that she's thankfully not taking her to.
"Who?" Brad questions curiously.
"Who?" A voice asks that wasn't any of them, Amy looking down at her phone in confusion.
"You know who," Jenny smiles in amusement.
"No," Brad responds and the same voice answers no, alarming Jenny.
"Wait, do you hear that?" She narrows her eyes suspiciously.
"What?"
"What?" The voice questions and Amy gasps a bit.
"Oh, she didn't..." She places a weary hand on her forehead.
"That," Jenny glares at her mother on the phone literally right next to her.
"What?" Nora asks cluelessly.
Jenny groans at her, putting away her phone. "I've gotta go, guys. MOM! You completely violated my privacy!"
"Privacy schmivacy. There's science afoot!" She holds up a round object in front of Jenny. "It's my latest invention. Sleepytime Mist for insomniac babies." Jenny looks uninterested, looking away and crossing her arms. "it's a lullaby in a bottle, without being addictive or causing diarrhea. Wait, what's this?!" She notices the can of oil on Jenny's bed. "Oil on the bed? And just look at the mess! It's like you're an animal or something!" Jenny glares at her mother. "How many times must I tell you, it's an eyesore!" Jenny starts heating up to the point where her entire head turns red. "A safety hazard, and against zoning regulations!"
"That's it! I can't take it anymore! Interfering with my phone calls, my eating habits, and you bother me about everything! You probably read my diary."
Nora holds up Jenny's diary. "You keep spelling infatuation wrong," She's even marked some of the pages of the diary.
"I want a place of my own!" Jenny starts gathering up all of the oil cans with her blanket. "A house, an apartment, an igloo! Anywhere but here!" She gathers up everything in the blanket, snatching her diary back.
"XJ9, technically you're only 5 years old. You're too young to live on your own," She states as she watches Jenny leave the room. The robot pulls up the metal door, grabbing the door handle and not responding. "Alright, alright! You can't leave home, but I suppose you can spruce up the toolshed in the backyard."
Jenny looks ecstatic at the suggestion.
She stands in the backyard, as the shed looks too small and it's not in the best shape either. "It's...wonderful," She murmurs in pure joy. She's about to enter when Nora pops up in front of her.
"Now, being on your own is a lot of responsibility. And it's going to-"
"Save it, Mom! That's why I'm moving out! So I don't get your two cents on everything! And if we're being technical, Amy lives on her own with three sisters since her parents are barely home!"
"But XJ9, don't you wa-" She gets the door slammed in her face, blinking.
"Sanctuary!" Jenny cries out happily.
"Two cents was worth a lot when I was a teenager," Nora laments as she looks at two pennies in her hand.
The shed is too narrow, and there's only gardening supplies, but Jenny looks happy to be there. "At last, my own place!" She stands up and makes a hole in the roof. "Whoops!" She then gets her arms through the walls. "It's time to turn this shed into a crib!" She brings out all sorts of tools from her fingers. She cuts the shed in half with a saw, and construction goes on. Nora opens up a window once the noise stops, shocked to see a tall house with one half of the shed on top, and the other half on the bottom. Piri takes a look out her window. She runs outside and sees the new house.
"Whoa! Guys, guys, look!" She rushes inside the house. She grabs all three of her sisters, and drags them outside.
"Piri, come on, I've got homework," Claudia sighs tiredly at her.
"I'm studying for a test!" Emily protests at her little sister.
"Yeah, and I've got-" Amy stops short as she sees Jenny's new place. "What is that?"
"Hi guys! Come on in!" Jenny waves them over and they rush to the place. Jenny smiles as she escorts them inside. They look around in awe and she climbs up a ladder. They follow her through several different rooms and she lets herself fall onto a hammock bed. "My very own waterbed hammock!" She sighs happily as she looks up a fridge, kicking it open to let oil fall onto it. "Sweet freedom! Privacy, tranquility...time to party!"
"Party?! Are we invited?" Piri asks excitedly, Jenny pointing a finger and doing a clicking sound.
"You know it, Piri."
"Yes!" She cheers while pumping a fist, Amy sliding down the ladder to stop next to Jenny.
"Why'd you make your own place?"
"I can't stand being around my mom in the house, so I moved out!" Jenny reveals to her, the girl whistling.
"I don't wanna get involved in that drama, but are you sure you can handle living on your own? You've got school and saving the day to handle too. Besides, family is meant to be unbearable sometimes at home, just ask Piri."
"Yeah! I make taking care of me a job in itself," The little girl smirks in amusement.
"Not all of us have it easy just because you have parents that work a lot," Jenny retorts back, Amy holding up her hands in defense. "Anyway, about that party-"
Brad, Sheldon, and Tuck all pop in from both the window and ladder. "Did someone say party?!"
"Cool digs," Brad grins at her.
"The perfect anti-parental fortress for total solitude," Sheldon smiles a little and Jenny smirks triumphantly at Amy as the boys surround them. For some reason, all of them are wearing top hats.
"Hope you don't mind, but we brought some friends," They lift up their hands, revealing three people, to the girls' shock. "Who brought some friends, who brought some friends!" People pop in out of nowhere.
"Let's do this thing!" Jenny smiles up at them. Music goes off as well as some flashing lights, and the party continues throughout the night. Jenny's place bounces up and down from the craziness. A plant in the house moves thanks to the music. Nora is wearing goggles while doing an experiment, about to mix two liquids together.
"Carefully..." The plant bounces...and then breaks both of the vials she had in her hand. She braces herself, letting out a sigh of relief as nothing happened. Until an explosion occurs, and she's now covered in soot. She bounces off of her chair with the next movement. "THAT'S IT!" She storms over to Jenny's place. "I'm shutting this party down!" However, as soon as she's about to touch the door, she realizes why Jenny moved out in the first place. And if she stormed in there now, it wouldn't make Jenny come back. "Oh! She'll never learn self-control if I'm the one controlling her!" And with that, she goes back inside.
The next morning, the sun rises on Jenny's place, which is covered in toilet paper. The alarm clock rings as Jenny's in the kitchen, covered in stains. She sits up in alarm. "Huh? I've gotta get to school! And so do you guys!" She looks up at Amy and her sisters, who shoot up awake.
Thanks to Amy turning into Ms. Mecha (she transformed in the bushes with Sheldon standing in front of them), she was able to get her sisters to school on time. Now she and Jenny just have to make it to their own classes...and Jenny's boots start to power down. "Oh no! I only recharged for two hours!"
Amy grabs Jenny's shoulders and starts flying her, only for her suit to power down as well. "Huh?" She asks in confusion as she's forcefully transformed back into her normal self, the badge signaling that power is nearing empty. "Why is my suit low on power?" She glares at Jenny a bit.
"Eh heh...I...may have borrowed it to keep myself going during the party?"
Amy pinches her nose upon hearing this. "Jen, I'll let it slide if you promise to charge yourself next time, okay? We both know I can't afford to have a dead suit on school days in case something happens."
"Yeah, I know..." Jenny rubs her neck and both of them start running. Jenny then starts slowing down. "I don't even have enough energy...to make it to class..." She opens up the top of her head, using a solar panel. "Glad Mom installed a solar panel! Which only works..."
"Outside," She murmurs with tired eyes in class and Amy isn't much better off. The girl lets out a yawn next to Jenny, her eyes drooping. Jenny unfortunately didn't get much charge while they were high-tailing it to school.
"Today, the Pythagorean theorem..."
And that was enough to make Jenny conk out as she snores with her head down. She also sleeps through lunch.
"Jenny?"
"Hey Brad!" She shots up awake like she's drunken a bunch of coffee.
"We've been over this," Brad smiles playfully at her, Amy smacking her lips tiredly. "Lunch period is not a class."
"Ha ha, hilarious," Amy rolls her eyes at him.
"I just can't stay awake," Jenny frowns at Brad as he sits down. Amy lets out a yawn. "That party last night caused me my sleep."
"And her battery life," Amy places a hand on her forehead. "The one time I'm glad that my parents aren't around since if they see me like this, they'd kill me."
"Hey, that party was the bomb," Brad defends with a smile. A girl dashes over to their table.
"It was so totally cool!"
A boy with a lamp on his head joins them. "Your party was awesome!"
"You are having another party tonight, right Jen?" Brad looks at her expectantly.
"Well..." She thinks about it. "I'd have to skip chores, homework, sleeping, perhaps personal hygiene."
"Yay Jenny!" A bunch of people cheer, Amy glancing at them.
"Well, I'm gonna pass, I need my sleep tonight. And so do my sisters, Piri's teacher told me if this continues with her, she won't move onto the next grade."
"Aww!" Everyone around her says in disappointment, to her disbelief. Mostly because people would usually go to parties if she wasn't there. Jenny and Brad also look shocked at their reaction towards Amy's statement.
"It's not a party without you, Amy!" A girl tells her. "I don't know why we always avoided you, you're cool."
"Yeah! And you're a student just like everyone else is."
"Oh, wow, um..." She rubs the back of her neck. "That's really nice of you, but tomorrow's another school night. I need to catch up before I start slip-" She falters as she sees all the students pouting. She sighs slowly at this. "Okay, I'll come, but only for an hour."
"Alright!" Everyone cheers at her statement.
They all cheer again later on at Jenny's place, dancing the night away. Others either explore her place, party around...except for Sheldon, who's in the bathroom all by himself. "I'll never get on Jenny's dance card now. At least you won't reject me!" He holds up a toaster, dancing around with it. The toast then hits him in the face repeatedly. Tuck pops out of the toilet wearing a scuba mask. He pops out of it and starts dancing.
"You're quite the swinger."
A knock is heard and Amy peeks in. "Hey Sheldon. Oh," She notices the toaster in his hand. "Upset that Jenny won't dance with you?"
"I don't know what it would take! Am I really that bad?" He laments and she scoffs.
"Oh please! To Jenny, you're one of her best friends. But given that she's got her own place now, romance is probably the last thing on her mind."
A bunch of boys surround Jenny. "Will you dance with us, Jenny?"
"Freedom rocks!" She gushes at them.
"Anyway, I'll dance with you."
"Really?" Sheldon asks her hopefully.
"I figured I at least owed you one since you're always helping me out in crazy stuff, even without asking," She shrugs at him.
"Wow. Thanks, Amy," He says happily, his heart beating a little.
Nora is sleeping, or at least attempting to as the party is so wild that she's bouncing in her bed. "Must. Not. Interfere. Must. Not. Intrude. Must. Not. Vomit!" She holds her stomach as the bouncing is proving to be too much for her.
Slow music plays as Amy and Sheldon dance together and they slowly stop. Amy rubs her arm awkwardly as they stand there in silence. Some people are slow dancing while others are getting refreshments. It seems as if both of them don't know what to do. Do they dance, do they not dance? Sheldon gulps and holds out his hand nervously.
"As...friends?"
"...As friends, yeah," She coughs a bit as he hugs her waist. She holds his shoulders and they start to sway together. Sheldon whistles awkwardly and she rolls her eyes.
"I just don't get why she's not interested," He laments to her and she sighs.
"It's not personal, it's just that she only sees you as a friend. Doesn't help that you sometimes act like a creep."
"W-Well...if I don't, I have no other way to get her attention. To see me as boyfriend material, you know? You get it, it's like when you try to have people see you as anything other than a freak."
"I'm not trying to do anything," She raises a brow. "I'm just being me. A lot of people just don't see it."
"Well, I heard that some people wanted you to come. That's gotta count for something."
"Yeah..." She admits to him as he spins them around. She then steps back as he steps forward. "See, this isn't weird at-" He trips forward and accidentally pecks her lips, shocking her as he lets go immediately with wide eyes. "Okay...now it's weird!" She turns around and rushes out of the bathroom as he stands there dumbfounded over what just happened.
Amy slides down the ladder, gently pushing past people to get to the door. She looks to her left and sees Jenny dancing, going over to her.
"I'm gonna go, Jen. I promised my sisters I'd help them with their homework after the last party!" She states quickly as she feels flushed.
"Aww, stay!" Jenny pleads with her. "People are finally starting to accept you!"
"I'll admit it's a nice chance, but I still get those looks," She jerks her head to some students dancing and staring at her with glares. "So baby steps. Besides, you don't wanna be around for what would happen if I break a promise to my sisters."
Jenny examines her face closely, raising a brow. "You feeling okay? You look like someone just kissed you."
"Fine! I'm fine," She waves her hands at the reminder, dashing out of there. Jenny stares after her and shrugs.
Jenny dances on a stage under a spotlight...
And the next day at school, she's sleeping at her desk. Amy glances back at the robot, sighing and shaking her head. She hides her face in her desk in case Sheldon sneaks up on her or something. She couldn't believe they actually kissed!
Jenny cracks open a pinata at her next party, and then is too tired to realize papers are falling from her locker. Amy bends over to pick them up.
She chats with Don Prima at another party, and ends up asleep in front of Vice Principal Razinsky. "Ms. XJ9!" He shouts into a megaphone and that was enough to wake her up.
"Just keep reminding yourself, responsibility must be learned, not programmed," Nora tells herself as she's scooping up garbage from in front of Jenny's place. She moves away another pile, gasping in surprise to see Jenny there with a slice of pizza over her face. "XJ9!"
Jenny slowly stands up, and her robot body is greased with stains, her eyes looking bloodshot. Plus she stinks as the pizza falls off her face. Nora sniffs her and Jenny glares, crossing her arms. "...What?"
"Oh, XJ9, you're finally losing your new car smell. Stay here, I'll get the tortoise wax."
"Whatever, Mom!" Jenny dismisses her. "I've got it under control," She storms off and Nora goes inside to call someone.
"Yes, I need you here now. I'm afraid XJ9 has taken this too far."
Amy walks over after Nora's phone call, going around the front to get to the backyard. "I wonder what Dr. Wakeman meant by-" She flinches in alarm to see Jenny's pigsty of a place and drags a hand down her forehead. She walks up as Jenny closes the door. And the inside is just as bad as stains and garbage are everywhere, and there are even mice now. "Or...maybe I don't. I don't even use underwear! Maybe I let things slide a little too far," She explores a bit while Amy knocks. Jenny extends her arm and opens the door to see her.
"What the?!" The brunette exclaims at the mess, walking inside. "Jen, this is too much! You can't keep partying all night like this. At some point, you're gonna need to take a step back."
"I know..." She enters the bathroom, yelping a bit to see a guy sitting in the bathtub. "...Now it's a lot too far." The phone rings and the guy picks it up.
"Hello?" He hands over the receiver. "It's for you."
"This place is disgusting," Amy gags a bit as she climbs up. "Feels like it needs to be fumigated."
"Thanks," Jenny takes the receiver.
"Oh, yeah, and you might wanna put this on," He hands over a car freshener.
"Hello?" She ignores him.
"This is Vice Principal Razinsky," He starts off, and he doesn't look too happy. "I've just been informed that you're failing math, science, history, and English! Oh yes, and lunch period."
"No, wait! My mom can clear this up—oh no!" Amy glances to the side, flinching back in alarm to see a raccoon next to her. "I told her not to interfere."
"Sounds like you're failing at home too. It all goes on your permanent record just the same."
"Wait, I can explain!" Jenny protests to him. "Hello?"
"Jenny?" Brad pops in, alarming the girls. "Are you ready to-"
"PARTY!" Everyone surrounds the duo as the whole school is there. They pick up Jenny as they holler.
"Wait! Now is really not the time! No! I'm serious, I have to-"
"We need you to buzz-saw some furniture into confetti." Someone interrupts her and she flinches. She then glances to a hole in the wall as some pilots have crashed inside for some reason.
"We're the High-Flying Ace Band! Yeah!" The leader plays a tune. "We're really expensive. Where can we set up?"
"Here's good," Brad gestures to the floor.
"Brad!" Both Jenny and Amy shout at him. The crowd picks up Amy too and she yelps in alarm.
"Did you hire them?!" The brunette calls out as the students lift them past the boy. They go past a jungle room, where Amy sees Piri riding a jaguar. Claudia and Emily cheer her on, wincing as they see their glaring older sister. The two slowly back away, grabbing Piri once she passes by them. Amy freezes as she sees Sheldon and Tuck in another room, turning around so that he doesn't see her. They go past a torture room it looks like, and a room with the Space Bikers there!
"What are you guys doing here?" Jenny asks in shock.
"What are you talking about? We've been partying here since last Thursday! Oh, by the way, the toilet's broken," She explains while spinning around Lenny in the air.
"Wahoo! I'm a biker!" Brad cheers as he rides Tammy's bike past him, and his behavior is the final straw for Jenny.
"Alright! Put us down!"
"Uhh, I don't think you wanna look up," Amy points as Jenny looks to see Olga on top of a trash pile. She jumps, heading straight for the crowd, who all move away from the girls, leaving them behind. They have no time to react before Olga crashes into them, causing a hole in the ground. They all look down as the girls crash into the last floor. Olga stands up, seeing them lodged into her back. They pop out like coins on the ground, Jenny getting back to normal.
"That's it! Everybody out! NOW!" However, no one can hear her over the loud music and talking. "Party's over! Get out! I'm serious!"
The lights go out and all that's left are blinking eyes. "Hey, who turned out the lights?"
"Well, I can't party without electricity."
And with that, everyone leaves her overstuffed place, which then crumbles down to debris. Jenny lifts up her head with a raccoon on top of it. Amy crawls herself out, heaving tiredly as her hair is a mess. The racoon leaves and Amy rubs the top of her head.
"Jen, next time you wanna move, maybe just reconsider and stay at home," She grumbles as they look to see that Nora had turned off the lights.
"Sorry, Mom," Jenny frowns as she approaches. "I really blew it. Why didn't you warn me?"
"Somebody didn't want my two cents," Her mother reminds her. "Besides, I knew you'd figure it out for yourself." Suddenly all the party occupants come back screaming as they run around the backyard. Amy pinches her nose while shaking her head. "Eventually..."
"Well," Jenny chuckles nervously. "I could really use some recharging. I guess I'll head back up to my old bedroom."
"Oh no you don't!" Nora stops the robot before she could leave. "You've got a group of rowdy partyers to control, they're your responsibility."
"But there's so many of them! It's like they're animals or something."
They hear a growl, glancing over to see a kid and a raccoon fighting over a chicken wing. Some of them start heading for the streets, Tuck spinning around Lenny and two people dancing on a roof. Amy makes a dash for a bush and hides in it. She taps her brooch and then flies out as Ms. Mecha. Jenny lands in front of the group, Amy flying above her. Jenny pulls up a crossroad sign, Amy summoning some red flashing lights and waving them.
"Halt! You must recognize your individual sense of responsibility
However, they just tackle her instead of listening, breaking the sign. "Uh...no offense, but we've got a bunch of rowdy teenagers. I don't think they recognize anything right now," Amy states, earning a blank look from Jenny.
"Somebody please! Save my baby!" A woman cries out as a baby in a carriage is in the road.
"Seriously?!" Amy asks in disbelief at him being there as Jenny scoops him up, flying him away from the crowd.
"Someone please! Save me!" For someone, the mother is tied to a railroad. They fly over and set her free seconds before she could get trampled. The two hear some ducks walking by, Jenny grabbing the mother. Amy grabs the babies, putting them down. The baby ducks angrily attack Jenny's legs before following after the party. They slice through buildings and trees, Jenny and Amy flying over them.
"Phew. They're out of the city," Jenny says in relief.
"We can't just leave them, what do we do?" Amy looks up at her.
"Well-they're headed straight for the cliff!" Jenny panics and the brunette gasps sharply. "There's gotta be a way to stop them," She then realizes she hasn't done one method. "Mom! She can bring any party to a screeching halt."
"Are you sure that'll work?" Amy glances at her.
"We'll see! Try to stall them!" Jenny rushes back home, but is running low on battery as she opens the door. She grabs the new invention her mother talked about earlier. "Sleepytime Mist..." She turns around to see her mother standing there.
"These tanks should give you an ample supply."
"Oh..." Jenny hugs herself as she's shaking, letting out some gas. Nora laughs knowingly at her.
"Sounds like you're on your last bit of...oh ho ho, gas! Now if you don't mind me putting my two cents in," She literally inserts two pennies into Jenny, tilting the belly bolt to the right. Jenny loses all of the stains she had and smiles.
"Instant recharge!"
She flies out with the tanks, smiling happily. "Thanks Mom!"
Amy flies in front of the crowd, waving her hands. "You've gotta stop!"
"Why should we? Party's over there!" Tuck calls out and she grunts in annoyance. Jenny appears behind her, flying over the crowd and releasing the mist. Everyone falls to the ground to sleep, snoring loudly. Brad and Tuck shrug at them, falling asleep too. However, Jenny and Amy grab them, and they did not look happy.
"Oh no, you don't! We've got a busty shed to repair, wild animals to relocate, and sleepy people to take home."
Tuck lets out a yawn. "Can't it wait till tomorrow?"
Nora appears from the monitor before they can say anything. "No! Because starting tomorrow, you're all grounded for a month." They all frown at her. If you thought you didn't have any freedom before, you ain't seen nothing yet!" She then hangs up, all of them sighing.
"Wait, why am I complaining, she doesn't know me enough to ground me," Amy smirks happily at Jenny.
"Lucky," The robot grumbles as she remembers that Nora doesn't know that it's Amy.
Sheldon laughs nervously as he looks up. "I really should be getting home..."
"Forget it, honey," He's unfortunately stuck with the Space Bikers. "Party's gonna start up again any minute. I'm itching to dance, and you're my new partner!"
"I want my toaster..." His eyes widen in horror as he feels so uncomfortable just before Amy and Jenny show up. Jenny takes the Space Bikers while she grabs Sheldon to take him home. "Oh, thank you," He says in relief, seeing that it's Amy. "Oh...hi."
"Hey..." She glances away awkwardly.
"Um...we can talk about it another day, but are you gonna tell Jenny?"
Amy is about to open her mouth to say something, but backtracks. She couldn't tell Jenny about the kiss. She didn't even know what it meant herself. Because not only would Jenny freak out, she might make it a big deal when all that happened was an accident.
"Look...whatever happened, happened. It was an accident, so I know it didn't mean anything. So long as it never happens again, we both agree not to tell anyone," She says plain and simple.
"...Promise," He says hesitantly as for some reason, he felt sad agreeing to that. The two just fly towards his house in silence as hopefully things will be back to normal between them now.
