Moment Twenty One:

Male: Sang-Wook

Series: Sweet Home

Kagome blinked as she tilted her head, looking at the scene before her. A girl pressing herself into the corner of the stairwell, as a man was fighting one of those monsters. She saw him give another hard kick to the creature that was once human, sending it deeper into the hole in the wall.

"You probably could just smash its head in...it should at least temporarily knock it out." Kagome spoke up, causing the two to snap their attention to her. She gave a small smile to the man as he gave her an appraising look, as if trying to understand her.

A scream broke loose from the girl in the corner as the man caught the creature by the neck, stopping it in midair from its sudden launched attack, before smashing it back into the wall, a loud crack echoing around them.

"That works too...snapped neck." Kagome muttered as she glanced at the creature again. A wave of pity going through her before her gaze went back to the two humans in front of her. She hadn't ran into anyone else until now. She had heard screams and running here and there, but she never was able to make it to where the commotion was before the humans were dead or gone.

"Who are you." The girl snapped, face still smeared with blood, her eyes wild with fear. Kagome gave a low hum, stepping down the stairs to stand on the same landing as them, readjusting her bow that was slung over her shoulder, it clicking against the sword she also carried on her back next to the quiver filled with arrows.

"Someone trying to survive." She slid her gaze over to the man who had been fighting. He looked a bit banged up, and seemed to have a bite mark on his shoulder. She guessed it was from the creature.

The three stayed silent, before the man grunted and started to make his way down the stairs. Kagome watched the girl scramble to follow after him. Kagome decided to follow and see where they were going. Things could be interesting.

Her blue eyes darkened as she passed by the creature, she knew it was going to come back...it was only a matter of time before it did so. She wanted to be out of the area before that happened. She was avoiding some of the fights if she could. Kagome had a feeling she would need to conserve her energy.

She may be acting extra cautious...but one never knew what could happen. She would rather have her powers ready to heal someone if they needed it then try to use it on these creatures...though it wasn't like her powers worked much on them. She could use some of them, but barriers were what really helped her. Purification didn't work on humans...and no matter how different or inhumane these people may have become...they were still in essence...human.

Following behind them at a leisurely pace she wasn't surprised at the deafening silence that fell over them, only the sound of their footsteps and the occasional scream from one of the floors echoing around them.

She tried to recall if she had seen them before, and she was a bit embarrassed to admit that while she had been living in the ever so 'luxurious' Green Home Estates for almost half a year she had kept to herself. She nodded at and smiled at people as she passed them in the lobby and in the built in store but she hadn't gone out of her way to really get to know anyone.

The girl looked to be young, no older than she had been when her feudal fairy tail had begun. At least she was handling it better then she had. Fighting back a snort at the way she used to run headlong into danger, not at all caring about her safety. Yet it seemed she, like herself, had found a protector. Someone to watch over her and at the very least keep her alive.

He was gruff, the permanent scowl on his lips combined with his cold narrowed eyes and scars screamed stay away. Yet she could tell he wasn't as bad as he put off, not only was his aura telling her that but the fact that he had gone out of his way to protect someone who judging by appearances would have nothing to do with him under any other circumstances gave him away.

Deciding to break the silence that fell over them she wiggled her way between the two, a small smile on her face. "Sooo... I know this is an odd time for introductions buuuuttt...name's Kagome. What are yours?" She was met by silence and instead of letting it bother her she merely tilted her head.

"I mean I can always give you guys nicknames...hmm how does school girl and tall dark and broody sound?" Okay, she knew they were lame ass nicknames but it was the best she could come up, plus they were bait.

As expected the school girl huffed at her, tossing long raven hair behind her shoulder. "God, you're so weird...my name's Eun-Yu. As for him I'm not sure I've just been calling him Mr. Yakuza." Kagome gave a small laugh, the sound cutting through the tense air like a breath of fresh air.

"Ah, so Mr. Yakuza you gunna give me your name? Or are we gunna stick with tall, dark and broody? No offence calling you Mr. Yakuza seems a bit rude, I mean unless you really are in the yakuza but even so I would hate to be called Ms. Author just because I write books..." She began to ramble, keeping her voice low enough to not draw attention but also loud enough to be heard by both of her companions.

She knew from experience that in times like these it was sometimes needed to have some semblance of normal.

Sang-Wook felt a vein in his forehead twitch, how did he get stuck with not only a snarky school girl but a semi crazy author? This is why he preferred to be on his own...

He could practically feel her shit eating grin as she kept bugging him, her light voice prattling on as Eun-Yu and her chatted about the kind of books she wrote, as if the world wasn't falling to shit around them.

He mused, she was probably just trying to calm the younger girl, she had probably never seen a beating like that up close before and was no doubt in the early stages of shock yet, Kagome, was pulling her back from the edge. Even so as she verbally poked and prodded at him he could only grunt.

"Sang-Wook." His voice was gruff as he avoided looking back at them, seeing as they had fallen a few steps behind during their conversation. Kagome could only smile up at his back yet frown as she once again caught sight of the blooming blood stain on his shoulder.

She knew it would have to be looked at at but they were not in any position to stop and do so. Maybe once they got to wherever they are going she could convince him to let her look at it. "So, where are ya headed?" She herself had no real destination in mind, she was just running on instincts.

Eun-Yu sighed deeply, as if talking to Kagome was a chore. "Didn't you hear the announcement? Survivors are gathering in the lobby. It's like you live in your own little world." Her words were barbed but Kagome knew there was no real malice behind them. The girl was scared and was putting up a strong front.

"Ah, cool. Guess I'll just tag along since I don't have anything better to do..." Honestly she really didn't, while she was glad to have stumbled upon these two she was more then ready to get out of here on her own and try her hand surviving out in the wilderness like she had all those years ago.

Grunting as she walked into a large board back Kagome could only duck her head to hide the light flush of her cheeks as Eun-Yu laughed at her. "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention..." Sang-Wook merely ignored her and moved to twist open the handle to the door blocking them from the lobby. The sooner he got these two out of his hair the better.

He felt his eyebrow twitch in annoyance as the door didn't move. Why the fuck was it locked if they sent out an announcement to head to the lobby? Mood already irate due to the losing of his prey he gripped the small knob, not even caring that it groaned under his stronger than normal grip. He added more force behind it yet it didn't budge.

"It's a push door you know." Eun-Yu's voice was light and layered with boredom. It made his cheek twitch as he bit back a bitter reply. He wasn't fucking stupid...

Mentally saying fuck it he let go of the doorknob and lifted a long muscled leg and kicked out, once, twice, and on the third time the door was crashing open, whatever had been barring it closed went tumbling in a loud sound of metal and plastic.

Kagome could only swallow as she watched him, he was far stronger then he looked and that was saying something. Moving to exit into the lobby she could only watch with wide eyes as his body seemed to freeze, jerking for a moment before falling forward to land at the feet of the shopkeeper. In his hand was a taser, his beady black eyes narrowing at her as he waved it threateningly in her direction.

"You with that yakuza too?" The sheer suspicion and accusation in his voice would have normally been overlooked but the way he gazed at Sang-Wook like he was the filth beneath his nails made her normal dislike for the short chubby man grow in leaps in bounds. Dropping to her knees she ignored his question and instead focused on making sure Sang-Wook was still breathing.

Eun-Yu glared at the shop keeper before glaring at her brother who stood nearby, quiet and watching as usual. "What the hell? He's the only reason we're alive and you just tase him?" The anger in her voice made everyone jerk back and look at the ground in embarrassment.

"Is there a place we can let him rest?" Kagome's voice was low and tight, doing her best to not let the words that begged to be snarled at them come out. She got it, really she did, when regular people were faced with anyone or anything that was outside of their sense of normalcy...they tended to group together and get a herd mentality.

Add in blood and death...well it quickly became a witch hunt and she would be damned if she let anyone be cast as the villain simply for how they looked or came off.

Eun-Hyeok quickly stepped forward, his gaze flicking to his sister's blood speckled face before landing on the blue eyed woman kneeling next to the large man on the ground. He vaguely recalled seeing her from time to time but he had never gone out of his way to return her small smiles or polite hellos. "Ah, we can probably let him rest in the day care-" He was cut off by a loud outraged cry.

"No, he can't stay in there with us! He's been bit what if he turns?!" Seok-Hyeon's words stirred everyone else into voicing their concerns and it was with a smug grin he stared down at the young woman glaring up at him.

Resisting the urge to lash out, Kagome could only sigh through her nose. "We don't know how this sickness spreads for one but if it makes you feel better to hole up in the daycare like a group of scared sheep is there anywhere else we can bring him?" Her voice was edged, begging for someone to say something that would set her off.

Eun-Hyeok was quick to step between the kneeling woman and the rest of the group. "We can always put him in the arcade and just lock the door from the outside until we're one hundred percent sure it's not a bite that causes transformation..."

Kagome leveled him with a cool look but nodded as she stood, readjusting her bow, quiver and sword, ignoring the looks from those around her. "Sure, I'll need some basic first aid supplies so I can tend to his wounds." Mind made up she crossed her arms under her bust, she was not about to let him get locked up alone, the man was injured for god's sake. Plus she knew at the moment he was better company then the others that surrounded her.

It took maybe ten minutes for a few of the guys to move Sang-Wook's larger body into the arcade and lay him down on a bench. The shop keeper's wife brought her a small first aid kit, her head bent refusing to look up from her normal cowering position. It was the way she had seen many women cower in the past. From years of being abused and beat down. It had always put a sour taste in her mouth and it was one of the main reasons she had never liked the greedy shopkeeper but it wasn't her business. Yet, now that the world was going to hell she vowed she would make it her business if he so much as raised his hand to her in front of her.

But that was a matter to be dealt with later, for now she had to make herself comfortable and wait for sleeping beauty to wake up so she could look over his wounds and treat them accordingly. For now she would try to get some rest of her own. She groaned as she set her weapons down on the ground and rolled her stiff muscles. It had been far too long since she had to carry them around for so long, yet all at once. Flopping on a nearby padded bench she let her eyes slide shut, her senses still semi alert.

She woke an hour later to the harsh toxic scent of smoke, bleary blue eyes snapped open to find the source and she was hard pressed to not smirk at the sight of Sang-Wook bent over, his elbows resting on his knees as he took a long slow drag from the lit cancer stick in his fingers.

Arching a raven brow at him she sat up herself, her body groaning in protest, wanting to get more rest, and pointed at the large no smoking sign tacked on the wall. "You're not supposed to smoke in here." He gave a low grumble as he leaned to sit back, his long legs sprawled before him.

"And? Pretty sure they're not supposed to chain the doors shut either..." His voice was low and gravelly from the burning smoke filling his lungs.

Its comfort welcoming in this strange new world he suddenly found himself thrust into, he would adjust, adapt and survive. He always did but for now he would let his aching body take a moment's pause before he kept moving forward.

Kagome could only sigh and let her eyes closed shut, she knew it was that bastard shopkeeper who had convinced the others to not only lock the doors but chain them shut...the prick.

"I swear...bunch of assholes...Anyways. How are you feeling? You went down like a sack of rocks when he tased you. You dizzy? Any ringing in your ear?" Old habits kicked in and she was once again in pack healer mode.

He let out a snort, "What, you some kind of doctor too?" She rolled her eyes at him as she moved towards him, stopping between his parted legs. She left enough space between them that should he want to stand he could easily do so, she wasn't stupid enough to try and back him into a corner.

"Something like that, now answer my questions please." He gave her a dry look as he stood, his body swaying on his feet for a second as vertigo slammed into him. Kagome frowned and moved closer, reaching a hand out to steady him yet he brushed it off and moved to step around her. Frowning at him she reached out and placed a hand on his chest to stop him from moving.

Was she being forward? Yes. Did she care? No, he obviously needed medical attention and she would be damned if he didn't get it.

"Would you just let me look at your wound, you stubborn goat." Kagome muttered, as she shoved him into the padded bench he had been previously sitting on. She could tell this man was going to be just as difficult as Inuyasha had been.

If not worse.

He huffed at her, ready to shove her right back but she, as if knowing his intent, straddled his lap, so very glad to for once be wearing a tracksuit and not a skirt, when she wrote she normally did so in sweats or something else just as comfortable. It was not only an intimate position but one he had not seen coming. His mouth snapped shut, his teeth grinding the filter of the cig in his mouth, as she mumbled under her breath, her fingers poking at the once again leaking wound on his shoulder.

"Honestly, hmm... it's deep but not as bad as it looks." Pulling back she shifted her hips so that there were a few inches between them. Since she was in 'medical' mode she had no idea the very promiscuous position she had put them in. Should anyone stumble upon them their position would paint a very different story.

"You're going to have to lose the shirt so I can properly treat it. Don't want to risk it getting infected." She brushed her fingers over the buttons of his shirt, ready to start undoing them.

Any desire that had begun stirring in him stopped dead in its tracks. Quickly his defenses were up again as he pulled back from her, his body plastered against the padded bench he had been shoved into. Clamping his hands on her small hands to stop her movements he could only glare at her. "No."

His lips frowned around his cigarette yet his eyes were cold pools of obsidian, void and empty, it made her freeze. Flicking her eyes from his to the puckered scarred flesh visible under the blood and through the torn parts of his shirt, understanding settled upon her.

"Ah, sorry." She let her hands fall into her lap between them, lightly grasping his shirt as to not fall. He automatically moved his hands to hold her hips, his hand snuffing his cigarette out on the wall next to him before unknowing settling over the starburst shaped scar on her side.

Clearing her throat at the suddenly quiet and cold atmosphere that fell over them she tried to gather her words, not wanting him to think she was pitying him when in fact she was merely trying to show him that she knew what it was like. "We all have our scars..." Kagome whispered, she had plenty of them on her body from the battles she had gotten into in the past. Some were very deep and if you looked at them knew they were deadly wounds once upon a time.

Kagome gently put her hand on the wound, if he didn't want her to see his scars then she had another way to treat his wound, "...I have another trick up my sleeve...don't panic." She told the man, who was watching her with weary eyes, but kept a firm grip on her hips as he shifted.

Kagome's lips twitched, she could feel the 'problem' he was having with her in this position. She shifted her hips forward, hearing a grunt from the man as the bruising grip tightened around her hips even more.

Kagome gave him an innocent smile, as she moved her hand over the wound before a warm pink light emitted from her hand. It was a soft warm glow, and Kagome could feel the power start to flow over the wound and start healing it. The wound started to disappear like it hadn't even been there before.

"There, that wasn't so bad was it?" She could only smile as he gaped at her, his mouth hanging open a bit before he came back to his sense and snapped it shut once more.

"What are you, some kind of magical girl?" She couldn't help the small peal of laughter that escaped her, the atmosphere once again light.

"Something like that, now, any ringing in your head?" She leaned forward, doing her best to ignore the tell tale sign of his blood flowing from one head to the other. She knew he probably couldn't help it, it was a normal reaction to a female straddling your lap. Hell if he didn't get a semi boner then she would be worried that he had lost more blood then she had thought.

It wasn't that she was cocky but come on, it was just a natural reaction. At least he wasn't being weird about it, Inu Yasha had always dumped her on the ground the second his body began to react even after they had the talk between them that ended any and all romantic aspects of their relationship.

Grunting as she placed a hand on his shoulder to place the back of her hand on his forehead he could only grit teeth, oh she was pushing it...if she kept moving her hips...or biting her lips as she murmured to herself...

Already her scent was wrapping around him, lulling him into a false sense of something...
