You know what? In the story of this meme part, it was said that Kenji was friends with an alternate version of Flynn...if that's the case, how come he didn't recognize Flynn?-Lucian Naruto
From what I got from his boss battle it seems like he's forgotten the past. At least the fine details of it. He's only living in the present and forgetting those past. To be fair Kiyoharu doesn't recognize Flynn either though I chalk that up to his insanity. Fuijwara and Skins had photos that could help them remember his face, but there wouldn't be such stuff in Infernal Tokyo to help Kenji remember.
Chapter 61 Kenji, the King of Tokyo
"I don't care who these Intruders are. I won't let them get this remote. Not after everything I did to get here.", Kenji thought as he imagined the obscured image of a man.
It had been so long he could not remember the man's face, but he remembered what his actions against him represented. He was willing to do anything to make it to the top. Even if that meant eliminating his competition.
"I draw!", Kenji said.

"I activate King of the Swamp allowing me to add Polymerization to my hand.", Kenji said.
The act surprised them only slightly knowing Walter was a fusion user too. It seemed he was also one in his past life.
"I will use Polymerization to fuse Elemental HERO Sparkman and Neos to fusion summon me! Elemental HERO Grandmerge", Kenji said as he jumped onto the field.

"I gain attack equal to the combined levels of my fusion materials times 300.", Kenji said, he flexed as an aura surrounded him and his two materials were briefly shown behind him.

"Then, I will set a card and end my turn.", Kenji said.

Walter was silent, unable to believe what he was seeing.
"What's wrong? You giving up already?", Kenji questioned as Walter snickered.
He was fuming when Walter started laughing. Flynn was silent and Jonathan sweat dropped.
"That's the best you've got? You're the King of Tokyo? Seriously you…? I guess everyone here is just weak.", Walter said.
"What's that supposed to mean? I've been unchallenged for years, kid.", Kenji replied.
"Yeah, it shows. Your skills are lagging.", Walter replied.
"I'm the strongest in Tokyo. I've gained this spot because of my power.", Kenji growled.
"Sure you have. I draw!", Walter said.

Kenji narrowed his eyes in annoyance at Walter's confidence. No one has questioned his rule until he killed 'that person'. Sure if he had lived he'd undoubtedly be the King of Tokyo right now, but that didn't matter. If someone stronger than him appeared he'll just kill them.
Flashback
That obscured man was in front of him. He couldn't make out his features because he couldn't remember them himself. The man looked up at his new form with his amazement.
"You're so strong now, Kenji. The merging ended up a lot better than we expected.", the man said, his voice sounding eerily familiar.
The part that could be made out was his black and red armor which the Samurai now recognized as a part of the Counter Spirit Force.
Kenji looked down at the man, narrowing his eyes through his helmet.
"I can't let him gain this power…He's way too strong already. If he got this power he'd be unstoppable. Then, I will never be king.", Kenji thought.
The man was distracted looking down at his deck.
"I wonder what spirit I should do the procedure with? You decided to choose multiple of your HEROes. I'm not sure if I would want to do something similar. If fused with my warriors I would end up like some weird robot.", the man said as Kenji slowly raised the blaster on his arm to him.
Kenji sweated nervously, hesitating and shaking. He raised his blaster in front of his head.
"Kiyoharu is already gone. He's next. Like Kiyoharu did he'll become a threat too.", Kenji thought.
Then, he pulled the trigger.
The man did even have the chance to react before his head was blown off. His body fell over lifeless to the floor and his cards scattered. Kenji breathed heavily, shaking. He remembers feeling intense regret and remorse which was foreign to him now. After that he claimed to have beaten him himself then killed him as a penalty for losing. Ever since then a very few people challenged him due to their fear alone of a person who could beat that man.
Flashback end
"I activate Dark World Dealings forcing us to both discard and draw.", Walter said as he discarded Snoww.
Kenji was annoyed to be forced to discard a card.
"Since I discarded Snoww I can add one Dark World card to my hand. I choose Dark World Lightning.", Walter said.
Walter
Hand: 7
"Then, I will activate Dark World Lightning by discarding Lucent. My spell allows me to destroy a facedown card you control.", Walter said.

"Then, Lucent's effect allows me to special summon it.", Walter said.
"Is that all?", Kenji questioned.
"Far from it! I summon Evil HERO Infernal Gainer.", Walter said.

"Then, I will activate Super Polymerization fusing my Infernal Gainer with you in exchange for discarding a card!", Walter said.

"W-what?! What the hell is that card?", Kenji questioned before he was pulled in.
"Goldd! Let's go! Prepare to meet the most badass and strongest monster you've ever seen! The latest and coolest Evil HERO shall end this duel thus! Me!", Walter said as he held up a fist.
He jumped onto the field as his allies smiled knowing he had this in the bag.
"Fusion summon! Level 8! Evil HERO Malicious Bane!", Walter finished his chant.
Kenji returned to his place off the field and now Walter stood before him in spirit form.
"This can't be!", Kenji said in disbelief with wide eyes.
Flynn's allies stood by his side. Walter had their supports while he was all alone on his lonely throne. He thinks he had true allies once, but it was unclear.
"I shall attack you directly with Lucent! Nether Bolt Slasher!", Walter declared.
Lucient's slash made him flinch.
Kenji LP 4000 - 2400 = 1600
"Then, I shall end this duel thus! Agi!", Walter said as his fist was coated in blue flames.
"You've got this, Walter!", Jonathan said.
"This guy is nothing compared to you! Together we're going to finally return to our world!", Flynn said.
Kenji's eyes widened as Walter cocked his fist back. He struck him in the stomach, sending him flying back.
Kenji LP 1600 - 3000 = 0
Walter returned to his normal form when the duel ended and the three Samurai stood side by side.
"Now, I've surpassed my old self who was obsessed with strength.", Walter thought.
For a moment an image of three people who looked extremely similar to the Samurai flashed in his mind. The people wore the same black and red armor.
Kenji's eyes widened.
That man he killed was….Ryou. His own friend. Ryou would have done anything for him, but he let his fear get the best of him. He had forced himself to forget Ryou and his face after his act of cowardice against him. The Samurai wearily approached the remote. Walter was watching him to make sure he didn't do anything as Flynn slowly approached the remote.
When Flynn approached the remote between them the resemblance was very clear. His face and even hairstyle was exactly the same as Ryou. Walter was trying his best to protect him like he once did for Ryou and Kiyoharu…
But…because of his actions they're gone and he's all alone.
"Don't you try anything, you bastard. Despite your 'rules' you're one of the weakest people I've ever faced.", Walter said to Kenji.
Flynn cautiously grabbed the remote, continuing to watch Kenji as he did so.
"I could easily blast off his head just like Ryou…but for some weird reason I have no desire to move.", Kenji thought.
Flynn's fellows stood by his side as he clicked the remote. Kenji closed his eyes.
"If I'm going to die, so be it.", Kenji thought.
The three Samurai were sucked into the Yamato Reactor. Kenji was the only one left there lying defeated. He wasn't dead like the White claimed. It seems they said that merely to frighten him. However he was still alive and well. He didn't know who exactly they were. If the Samurai were different versions of him and his deceased friends or descendants of them. Either way their power had trumped his. They made him look like an absolute joke more than Ryou ever did.
Flynn woke up in that endless whiteness again. The White stood before him and Flynn tried to get to his feet.
"Who exactly are these White anyway? What do they want?", Flynn thought.
"Your atom has brushed against two possible worlds. You have touched the possible world one chooses to preserve…and the possible world where one chooses to fight the stillness.", White K said.
"…You have sensed it. Even if you elect to preserve the world, if it does not align with God's will, it will be cast into destruction…Even if you choose not to preserve the world, it will lead inexorably down to a path of self-destruction…", White Issachar said as Flynn faced him.
Flynn furrowed his eyebrows glaring at the White.
"Humans are but prisoners of G.O.D.'s expectations. But we know a way…A way to escape G.O.D.'s grasp. Yes…We will simply turn all to nothing to begin with.", White Hugo said.
"Because we lack forms, we entrust the choice to you who have shape, Flynn…Release all of humanity from G.O.D.'s control and become the true Messiah.", White Isabeau said.
Flynn looked unamused by all this talk.
"Now Flynn, the time of fate. The power is in your hands to save every being in every world. Will you turn the world to naught with your hands as the messiah…?", White Issachar said.
"Is that even a real question?", Flynn replied.
The White were silent seeing Flynn's resolute expression.
"Of course I won't destroy the world! Nothing you have shown me has proved humanity is beyond salvation! Even in the worst situations people are still fighting to live! And things in those world's will change! If that was your attempt to break my spirit you must think lowly of me!", Flynn replied as he pointed at the White.
It seemed they were unable to make him give into despair. Flynn's resolution to create a world preserved through everything they showed him.
"No…You and your messianic tendencies…What do you think you can do, leaving this world intact…? Do you intend to preserve the current status quo? Are you going to destroy the order of things?", White Issachar questioned.

Even after we have shown you many times there is no future for the human race? You are no longer of use to us. May you regret your choice here in this fabricated space until you die…", White Issachar replied.
Everything went white again and Flynn's eyes crept open finding himself in a white forest. Flynn looked around, seeing he seemed completely alone. He started walking through the strange forest.
"It seems even now you still haven't surrendered your hope.", White Issachar said as he appeared, drawing Flynn's attention.
"Get out of my face, you fake! Don't you dare try to desecrate Issachar's memory with your mockery of his form!", Flynn replied, glaring at White Issachar.
"I will extinguish that fire in you for good. Prepare to embrace nothingness, false messiah.", White Issachar replied as a white duel disk materialized on his arm.
