Heart To Heart 3: Suspicious Minds

Introduction

Cynder: (Noticing something on Shulk's face) Something on your mind?

Shulk: No, it's nothing, really.

Cynder: Shulk, don't lie to me. You can tell me anything. What's going on?

Pass/Pass

Shulk: I may as well say it. The stories I've heard of you have me worried.

Cynder: Stories?

Shulk: All I can say for certain is that everyone has stories about what you are.

Cynder: They do, do they?

Shulk: Spyro's told me nothing but good things though.

Cynder: I'd expect that from him. But what do the rest say is my question.

Shulk: I don't think there's any reason to hide it. Some people in our group seem to think you're a spy for the Mechonis.

Cynder: (In a depressed tone) Trust me, I'm not surprised by that at all.

Shulk: Wait, why would that not be surprising? Not surprised? Why not?

Cynder: Let's just say in my world, I don't have the best reputation.

Shulk: What?

Cynder: That's all I'm going to say.

Shulk: Now you've got me curious. I will figure you out, Cynder.

(Net Affinity: +10)

Shulk: The rumors are pretty hurtful, I really don't want to break her heart at this point. I... don't remember any of them off the top of my head.

Cynder: (Suspicious) Hmm... maybe they'll come back to you eventually. I'd genuinely like to hear what they think.

Shulk: (Now scared) Okay... I'll let you know if any come to mind. That was close. But she's pretty clearly not letting this go.

(Net Affinity: 0)

Fail/Pass

Shulk: I better not say anything. It's nothing really.

Cynder: (Having a "Press X to Doubt" moment) I doubt that very highly.

Shulk: Darn, she's better at reading me than I thought.

Cynder: So seriously, what's happening here? You look like it's really bothering you.

Shulk: She's already on to me, I might as well say it. The rumors going around about your past have me kind of disturbed.

Cynder: Disturbed? How so?

Shulk: I can't remember anything specifically off the top of my head, but there's a lot to it.

Cynder: I'll buy that answer. For now.

Shulk: I really hope I didn't break her trust with that...

(Net Affinity: 0)

Fail/Fail

Shulk: I better not say anything. It's nothing really.

Cynder: (Having a "Press X to Doubt" moment) I doubt that very highly.

Shulk: Darn, she's better at reading me than I thought.

Cynder: So seriously, what's happening here? You look like it's really bothering you.

Shulk: The others told me these stories in confidence. I can't tell her! It's seriously nothing.

Cynder: You know I don't buy that story at all, right?

Shulk: Look, there's nothing bothering me, can we just leave it alone, please?

Cynder: I had suspected you'd at least be able to tell me the truth. Perhaps I was wrong.

Shulk: Dang it, I was just getting her to talk to me! Spyro's going to kill me when he finds out I broke her heart.
