Heart to Heart 5: A New Normal

Introduction

Cynder: So... I hate to sound rude, but how's the whole Control Unit thing working out?

Fiora: It's a little weird, realizing I'm a machine instead of a Homs.

Cynder: That little bit of existentialism always gets to you. And as far as I've experienced, it never really goes away. But you do get used to it with time. Trust me.

Fiora: You sound like you know a lot about this sort of thing. Were you turned into a Mechon too?

Cynder: (Awkwardly) Well, no, because I'm not from this world. But I've been through a similar transformation, into something almost unrecognizable.

Fiora: Really?

Cynder: Yeah, but to be honest, I don't like talking about it that much. It's... not a pretty story.

Fiora: Trust me, with everything I've been through recently, I think I can take it.

Cynder: (With a slight chuckle at the situation) Good point. Well, it all starts before I even hatched. I was kidnapped by the very threat Spyro and I defeated before coming here.

Fiora: And they're the one who transformed you?

Cynder: Yep. For what feels like an eternity afterwards, my mind was trapped in my subconscious while whatever dark magic Malefor had used to do this to me operated my body like a puppet on a string. (Starting to tear up) To this day, I haven't been able to forgive the blood on my claws.

Fiora: (As Cynder tears up) You've made up for every drop in my mind.

Cynder: (Brushing tears from her eyes) Really?

Fiora: Totally. Talk to anyone on this team, they'll agree with me. Since you've been here, you've been nothing but heroic.

Cynder: Thanks Fiora, I really needed that.

(Net Affinity: +10)

Fiora: I'm... not so sure I'm ready to hear it then.

Cynder: (Confused, but hiding it) That's fine with me, I... really don't like talking about it. At least currently. Give me a little time and we'll probably be able to open discussion about it.

Fiora: Sounds good to me, I guess.

Cynder: I expected that if I'd be able to talk to anyone in this world about this, it would be you, Fiora.

(Net Affinity: 0)

Fiora: Thanks for the advice, but I'm not sure it'll do me much good.

Cynder: I'm just trying to help you, girl. If you don't want my advice, just say so.

Fiora: I'll definitely keep it in mind as we go forward.

Cynder: No problem. Just offering my experience on this sort of thing. Trust me, I've seen it before.

Fiora: You've seen this before?

Cynder: (Kind of nervously) I have... but it's not exactly a tale I like recounting.

Fiora: Well that's okay. We'll talk about it when you're ready.

Cynder: Thanks for being so understanding, Fiora.

Fiora: No issue.

Cynder: Bullet. Dodged.

Fiora: Thanks for the advice, but I'm not sure it'll do me much good.

Cynder: I'm just trying to help you, girl. If you don't want my advice, just say so.

Fiora: I thought you said you'd never seen a Mechon before coming to this world?

Cynder: Wow. How dense are you? I haven't, but I have seen a transformation like this before. In a way.

Fiora: Really?

Cynder: (Trying to shut her up) Just take my word for it, okay?

Fiora: (Unsure) Okay.

Cynder: She's too innocent to corrupt with this story. Thank the Ancestors she didn't ask about it.

And that wraps up Fiora as a character. Yeah this one seems a little weird, but based in the research Drago and I have, Fiora, given her fate of becoming a Face Mechon Control Unit, seems to undergo the most literal transformation in the game, much similar to Cynder, so it kind of makes sense to have them talk about this with each other.
