Coming out of lightspeed at the fourth moon of Yavin, the Ebon Hawk flew towards the planet's surface and landed in front of the temple where the Rebel base is located. As Taka and the others walked out of the ship, Kirito arrived to see Asuna exit then hugged her. "You're safe," he said. "When we heard about you guys missing, I feared for the worst."
"What's the status of retrieving the Death Star plans?" Taka asked.
"We have it and the technicians are going over it right now. There may be a weak spot on the station."
"Who brought the plans here safely?"
"A couple of AI characters. Some go by the name of Luke and Han accompanied by Leia and two droids."
"That's good news," Sinon said.
"Analysts are looking at the plans now and we will be briefed momentarily."
A few minutes passed as players and AI were sitting in the briefing room going over what was discovered about a weakness in the Death Star. Taka sat next to the others as the general was going over the briefing with everyone in the room. "The battle station is heavily shielded and carries a firepower greater than half the starfleet," he announced as he paced in front of the screen showing the Death Star plans. "Its defenses are designed around a direct large-scale assault. A small one-man fighter should be able to penetrate the outer defense." A soldier at the age of thirties stood to address the general.
"Pardon me for asking, sir, but what good are snub-fighters going to be against that?" the soldier asked.
"Well the Empire doesn't consider a small one-pony fighter to be any threat, or they'd have a tighter defense. An analysis of the plans provided by Princess Leia has demonstrated a weakness in the battle station. The approach will not be easy. You are required to maneuver straight down this trench and skim the surface to this point." The general pointed at the display on the screen. "The target area is only two meters wide. It's a small thermal exhaust port, right below the main port. The shaft leads directly into the reactor system. A precise hit will start a chain reaction which should destroy the station." A murmur of disbelief began to run through the room. "Only a precise hit will set up a chain reaction. The shaft is ray-shielded, so you'll have to use proton torpedoes." Taka rubbed the back of his head as he thought who would be lucky enough to pull a stunt like that. "Man your ships! And may the Force be with you!" The group of AI and players rose from their seats and made their way to their fighters.
The Death Star began to orbit around the huge planet toward the tiny green moon as a holo transmission from the Inquisitor came in with Darth Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin present in the room. "You believe that the Ebon Hawk is carrying a Jedi on board?" Vader asked.
"Yes, my lord," the Inquisitor replied. "The passengers had a familiar presence on board when I saw it flee."
"Find them and do not rest until they are dead along with the Rebels at Yavin. Bring your destroyer there as soon as possible, Grand Inquisitor."
"Right away." The holo transmission ended.
Taka walked into the hangar with his flight suit on and helmet in hand. Sinon turned from looking at his Y-Wing towards him as she waited for him. "You never messaged me where you were since I logged in for the first time," he said.
"I wanted to surprise you," Sinon reassured. "I just wanted to wish you luck on this mission."
"I appreciate it." Taka puts his helmet on his head before hugging Sinon.
"Please come back safely." Taka smiled and headed towards his ship. Before he could climb the ladder to enter the cockpit, he got jumped on from behind by Leafa.
"Guess who!" Leafa said. Taka laughed as he turned to see Leafa.
"It's good to see you, Leafa. I take it that you are joining us on this mission?" Leafa nodded. "Good. Then get to your ship and good luck." Leafa hurried to her ship as Taka started to climb into the cockpit of the Y-Wing.
The Death Star moved slowly behind the massive yellow surface of Yavin as many X-wing fighters flew in formation toward the ship. Light from the distant sun created an eerie glow as the fighters neared the battle station. Taka lowered his visor as Red Leader's voice was heard. "All wings, report in!" he said.
"Red Ten standing by," a voice responded.
"Red Seven standing by."
"Red Three standing by."
"Red Six standing by."
"Red Nine standing by."
"Red Two standing by."
"Red Eleven standing by."
"Red Five standing by." The news of a new Red Five was surprising to Asuna and Taka.
"Lock S-foils in attack position," Red Leader ordered as the X-Wings opened their wings and Taka flew with the rest of the fighters. "We're passing through their magnetic field. Hold tight!"
"Look at the size of that thing!" Red Two said, excited.
"Cut the chatter, Red Two. Accelerate to attack speed. This is it!" As they approached the Imperial fortress, they saw as several small lights blinked in thin lines along the perimeter of the station. It appeared almost like a city at night. As the squads of rebel fighters peeled off, laser bolts streaked through the star-filled sky. The massive station aimed its laser turrets at the ships, returning the fire. As the X-wings zipped back and forth, skimming the surface of the station, Taka took out some of the guns with his Y-Wing's cannons. After taking out a few guns, a voice was heard in the headset.
"Squad leaders, we've picked up a new group of signals," the voice announced. "Enemy fighters coming your way." Taka turned his head to see a squadron of fighters heading their way and turned his attention towards them. He then noticed one of his friends with a fighter on her tail.
"Leafa, you've got one behind you," Taka said. "Watch out!"
"I see him!" Leafa said as she maneuvered away from the TIE Fighter's lasers. Taka flew behind the enemy fighter and fired a shot at the tailing TIE Fighter. "Thanks, Taka." Asuna's voice then was heard.
"Everyone, we got a Star Destroyer coming in to support the enemy!" Asuna reported.
"That's not good," Taka said. "We gotta take it out. Only ion torpedoes can disable it and deal some damage. Asuna and Leafa, with me!"
"Right!" Asuna and Leafa said in unison. The three flew away from the Death Star and towards the Star Destroyer that is approaching.
On the bridge of the Star Destroyer, the Inquisitor observed as she saw explosions of tiny ships on the Death Star's surface. The ship then began to shake as they were hit by an ion torpedo as it lost power. "What was that?!" the Inquisitor demanded.
"We lost power to the whole ship, ma'am," an engineer reported. She then looked out the window of the bridge and saw two X-Wings along with a Y-Wing destroying some of the destroyer's guns.
"It's them. I will deal with them myself. Prepare my TIE Defender." The Inquisitor then left the bridge as the battle continued outside.
Taka along with Asuna and Leafa as protection flew a distance away from the destroyer and then turned around as Taka prepared to make his attack run. The three avoided the lasers from the destroyer until it stopped firing. "Why have the guns stopped?" Leafa asked. They then see a TIE Fighter of unknown design heading their way.
"There's a fighter coming right in front of us!" Asuna said. The Inquisitor looked at her ship's targeting computer as it beeped. She then fired at Leafa's engine.
"I'm hit! I can't stay with you."
"Get out of here!" Taka ordered. "There is nothing more you can do right now."
"Sorry!" Leafa then piloted her X-Wing back towards Yavin as the Inquisitor's TIE Fighter was now behind Asuna and Taka as the two maintained their course.
"Activating targeting computer." A targeting computer slides out in front of Taka's right eye as he aligns his Y-Wing for an attack. He suddenly heard a familiar voice talking to him.
"Use the Force, Taka," the voice advised. Taka's eyes widened as he tapped on his ear to make sure it wasn't comm interference. "Let go, Taka." The Inquisitor then began to sense something from the Y-Wing.
"The Force is strong with this one," the Inquisitor said.
"Taka, trust me." Taka closed his eyes and sighed before turning off his targeting computer as it moved back into place.
"Your computer is off, Taka," Asuna said. "What's going on?"
"Nothing," Taka said. "Break off. I'll settle this myself."
"Roger that. Be careful." Asuna piloted her X-Wing away from the action as Taka stayed on target. The Inquisitor fired lasers at the Y-Wing which managed to hit his droid.
"I lost my droid!" Taka kept his ship in balance as the TIE Fighter closed in on him. The Inquisitor's targeting computer beeped as she got a lock.
"I have you now," the Inquisitor said before pulling the trigger. Her ship's wing suddenly got shot. Taka looked to see the Ebon Hawk piloted by Sinon arrived at the rescue. Her ship zoomed past the Inquisitor's which caused the fighter to get blown away. Sinon's voice was then heard on the comms.
"You're all clear, love!" Sinon said. "Now let's blow this thing and go home!" Taka nodded as he got close enough to drop some bombs on the Star Destroyer's hull. It began to explode as he flew away. The Millennium Falcon along with some X-Wings and one Y-Wing caught up with him as the Death Star behind them exploded into a large fireball. "Great shot, Taka! That is one for the books!" Taka sighed with relief as he heard the same voice again.
"Remember, the Force will be with you," the voice said. "Always." The Inquisitor's TIE Fighter stopped spinning and flew away from the system to avoid being captured or shot down.
Taka was greeted by cheering players as he climbed out of his Y-Wing. Everyone rushed to the brave, young hero, welcoming him with laughter and cheers. Asuna and the others rushed in with cheers as well. Sinon arrived later and hugged Taka tight. The two broke the hug and Kirito gave him a slap on the back. "I guess that is thanks for me saving you on GGO, Sinon?" he asked.
"Anything better than getting shot down by one fighter," Sinon said with a laugh. The group then walked out of the hangar while the others celebrated their victory.
