Welcome back to the Xenoblade Heart to Hearts series! Today, at long last, we wrap up Colony 9, as Cynder and Melia have their chat in this location. So, how's that going to go? Read on to discover...
Heart to Heart 15: On The Subject Of Brothers
Participants: Cynder and Melia
Location: Tephra Cave Entrance
Affinity: Lavender
Pre-Requisite: Kallian's Telethia form must have been defeated
Introduction
Cynder: Melia? Are you okay?
Melia: Oh. Cynder. I didn't expect to see you here
Cynder: Usually I'm the one sneaking off to sulk in secluded places like this. What's going on?
Melia: It's nothing, really. I just needed to think about... things.
Cynder: It's about Kallian, isn't it?
Melia: (Sighs) Yeah.
Pass/Pass
Cynder: He really was a great man.
Melia: Which makes what his own mother did to him despicable.
Cynder: You can say that again. I mean if somebody did something like that to Sparx...
Melia: Sparx? I didn't know you had a brother.
Cynder: Well, he's not my brother, he's Spyro's brother.
Melia: Yet you think highly enough of him to say what you were going to say.
Cynder: (Thinks about it) I guess I do. He may be a real pain in the tail sometimes, especially with what he regards as humor, but ultimately he's just looking out for his brother.
Melia: He sounds like a wonderful older sibling.
Cynder: I can only imagine he is. I mean, despite us not getting on, he did trust me to keep Spyro safe after we went to confront Malefor.
Melia: And you have kept that vow spectacularly.
Cynder: Something tells me he and Kallian would've gotten on pretty well.
Melia: I can only hope.
Cynder: Oh, Melia, can I ask you for one thing?
Melia: What is it?
Cynder: If you ever somehow run into Sparx, don't tell him about this conversation.
Melia: Gladly.

Pass/Fail
Cynder: He really was a great man.
Melia: Which makes what his own mother did to him despicable.
Cynder: You can say that again. I mean if somebody did something like that to Sparx...
Melia: Sparx? I didn't know you had a brother.
Cynder: Well, he's not my brother, he's Spyro's brother.
Melia: Yet you think highly enough of him to say what you were going to say.
Cynder: Not on your very long life, Melia. Sparx may be the most annoying creature I've ever encountered.
Melia: Annoying?
Cynder: Annoying may not be the right word, probably "distrusting" would be better. I swear, it doesn't matter what I do, that little bug will just never trust me around Spyro.
Melia: Is it not possible he's simply looking out for his brother?
Cynder: Oh he most certainly is, of that I'm sure. Just you'd think by now he'd at least trust me, after all we've been through.
Melia: Spyro has told me he asked you to keep him safe.
Cynder: (Remembers that moment) I will cede that point.
Melia: Perhaps you have simply misjudged this Sparx.
Cynder: Maybe you're right.

Fail/Pass
Cynder: I may not have known Kallian as well as I probably should have, since we know you. But if I had to guess, he wouldn't want you sulking over what happened to him.
Melia: I agree entirely. But... he was still my brother. I feel some sort of familial duty to mourn him almost in spite of that.
Cynder: I figure Spyro would be the same way about Sparx, and I guess I would be too.
Melia: Sparx? Who is this Sparx?
Cynder: Sparx is Spyro's brother.
Melia: He is Spyro's brother, yet you would mourn him as if he were your own?
Cynder: I guess he's kind of rubbed off on me a little bit. I mean, he did ultimately trust me to protect Spyro when we went to stop the Destroyer.
Melia: That should show he considers you a sister, or at least someone he trusts to protect his brother.
Cynder: I guess... I guess he does. Maybe after all we've been through he's worked past his issues.
Melia: And that should be something you celebrate.
Cynder: I guess I could use a little more positivity in my life. Thanks, Melia.

Melia: He is Spyro's brother, yet you would mourn him as if he were your own?
Cynder: More for Spyro's sake than my own, I'll admit.
Melia: (Confused) Why?
Cynder: The little bug has done nothing but annoy me for just about the entire time we've known each other.
Melia: Yet if Spyro is to be believed, the two were inseparable until your final assault on the enemy.
Cynder: That's true.
Melia: That tells me he trusts you enough to protect his brother. Perhaps he does trust you after all?
Cynder: (Thinking about it) Perhaps he does. Thanks for that, Melia.

And that wraps up not just Melia, but Colony 9 in general. Thus concludes our little introduction to this particular concept. Going forward, there will not be an interaction with every party member in most of the remaining locations, each overall location, and in particular their Heart to Hearts, will determine who gets an interaction and just about how many conversations there will be. So, what's our next location, and who's up first? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
