Welcome back to the Xenoblade Heart to Hearts series! Today, we enter our final character for Tephra Cave. And we're going back to the first character of the game, Shulk! So, what does Shulk have to say to our favorite pair of dragons this time? Read on to discover...

Heart to Heart 21: Those We Remember

Participants: Spyro and Shulk

Location: Prayer Room

Affinity: Pink

Introduction

Shulk: Spyro?

Spyro: (Waking up as if from a trance) Shulk? What are you doing here?

Shulk: Looking for you. What are you doing here? We honestly expect Cynder to be the one sneaking off.

Spyro: Well, I was just looking for a secluded place to... think...

Pass/Pass

Shulk: Think? If I may ask, what are you thinking about?

Spyro: I guess there's no use in hiding it. Well, one of the last things that happened before I got here

Shulk: (Somehow puts it together quickly) You lost someone, didn't you?

Spyro: Wow, he really does know how to read a room. What tells you that?

Shulk: Call it a hunch.

Spyro: Well, your hunch was right. Not only did I lose someone just before we got here, it was someone... very dear to me. Almost like a father to me.

Shulk: Your father?

Spyro: Well... not biologically. At least I'm not sure of that anyways. But that's not the point.

Shulk: So who was this guy?

Spyro: My mentor, Ignitus.

Shulk: Your mentor?

Spyro: More than just my mentor. He was really the one who taught me what it meant to be a dragon.

Shulk: He did? (Remembers something) Wait, Cynder's stories of you not knowing you were a dragon are true?

Spyro: (With a smirk) Yeah, yeah they are. Ignitus changed all that though. (As tears start welling up) Then he sacrificed himself to help Cynder and I get to Malefor's lair. (With tears flowing down his face) I still miss him.

Shulk: (Remembering his own loss) I know how you feel.

Spyro: (About to say something, then rethinking it) Oh yeah, I'd almost forgotten about you losing Fiora.

Shulk: Yeah, and you know how I feel about her. But I know Fiora didn't want us losing ourselves mourning her, and I can tell Ignitus feels the same way. He'd want you to make the most of the chance he gave you.

Spyro: (Brushing the tears from his eyes) Thanks, Shulk. I really needed that.

Pass/Fail

Shulk: Think? If I may ask, what are you thinking about?

Spyro: I guess there's no use in hiding it. Well, one of the last things that happened before I got here

Shulk: (Somehow puts it together quickly) You lost someone, didn't you?

Spyro: Wow, he really does know how to read a room. What tells you that?

Shulk: I just know.

Spyro: You just know. Yeah right. I'm going to need a little more than "I just know".

Shulk: You were there when we lost Fiora. You know how I was after that.

Spyro: I'd almost forgotten about Fiora. I will admit, I'd almost forgotten about that. Probably because I saw how relieved you were getting her back. (Under his breath) A chance I'll never get.

Shulk: True, you'll never get to see Ignitus again in this life. But he wouldn't want you drowning in sorrow over the end of his life. He'd want you living the rest of yours to the fullest.

Spyro: I get the point, Shulk, no need to hammer it home like that. Thanks, Shulk. I think.

Shulk: Just doing what I can.

Fail/Pass

Shulk: And you couldn't do that thinking somewhere we could see you?

Spyro: Wow, way to be completely daft, Shulk. I just wanted to be alone for a few moments, I don't see the issue with that.

Shulk: I mean, I get it, we can be kind of annoying sometimes. But...

Spyro: That's not what this is about!

Shulk: Then what is this about?

Spyro: Let's just say getting here cost Cynder and I someone very dear to us.

Shulk: (Realizing what Spyro's getting at) Oh. I... I had no idea.

Spyro: And I would have told you if you didn't act like such a prat about it.

Shulk: In that case, I'll just... let you get back to what you were doing. Sorry for interrupting you.

Spyro: Thanks, Shulk. I should be back soon.

Fail/Fail

Shulk: And you couldn't do that thinking somewhere we could see you?

Spyro: Wow, way to be completely daft, Shulk. I just wanted to be alone for a few moments, I don't see the issue with that.

Shulk: I mean, I get it, we can be kind of annoying sometimes. But...

Spyro: That's not what this is about!

Shulk: You'll forgive me for being worried about my friend!

Spyro: Friend?! We hardly know each other! We've only been here for a few days!

Shulk: Excuse me for just trying to talk to you!

Spyro: In case it wasn't obvious, I don't want to talk right now.

Shulk: Fine then. Just don't blame me when the rest of us move on without you.

Spyro: Trust me, once Cynder hears about this, she won't be leaving with you. Of that I'm sure.
