Heart to Heart 25: Heart of Glass

Dunban: (Seeing Cynder) Cynder?

Cynder: (Finally noticing Dunban is here) Dunban? What are you doing here?

Dunban: Looking for you. What are you doing all the way out here?

Cynder: Just... thinking...

Dunban: About what, if I may ask?

Pass/Pass

Cynder: It's... about Spyro. But... it's also about me, to a point.

Dunban: You're thinking about your relationship, aren't you?

Cynder: Yeah.

Dunban: So what's eating you?

Cynder: I... I... (Reasons her way out of it) I can't.

Dunban: You needn't be afraid to tell me. Just take a deep breath.

Cynder: (Takes said deep breath) I love him.

Dunban: But you aren't sure if he loves you back.

Cynder: Exactly.

Dunban: From what I've seen, I would be surprised if Spyro didn't love you.

Cynder: I just wish he'd say something.

Dunban: It sounds like you've told him.

Cynder: I have.

Dunban: So why didn't he respond then?

Cynder: I'm not sure he heard me. He was pulling a planet back together at the time.

Dunban: Yeah, it might be pretty hard to hear through that. But you can trust me. If I know anything about Spyro, he feels the same way about you. And that he's probably as nervous about telling you as you are of telling him.

Cynder: You think so?

Dunban: I'd stake my other arm on it.

Cynder: It's... about Spyro. But... it's also about me, to a point.

Dunban: You're thinking about your relationship, aren't you?

Cynder: Yeah.

Dunban: So what's eating you?

Cynder: I... I... (Reasons her way out of it) I can't.

Dunban: You needn't be afraid to tell me. Just take a deep breath.

Cynder: (Takes said deep breath) I love him.

Dunban: But you aren't sure if he loves you back.

Cynder: Something like that...

Dunban: Well, you'll never know until you try. Just tell him.

Cynder: (Sighs) If only it were that simple.

Dunban: It is that simple, what's holding you back?

Cynder: I... don't think I could handle it if he doesn't...

Dunban: A heart of glass, easily broken.

Cynder: I couldn't have summed it up better if I tried.

Dunban: I'll say this, Cynder. You're stronger than you think. You needn't fear rejection. And even if he doesn't feel the same way about you, that doesn't mean he won't stay your friend afterwards.

Cynder: I'll be honest, I'm not sure whether to be offended by that, or enthused. Thanks, Dunban.

Cynder: It's not something I'm afraid of, per se. It's just... I don't know how to say it.

Dunban: (Senses something) That is one truth I know. It's always hard to discuss matters of the heart.

Cynder: (Surprised) How'd you know?

Dunban: Let's just say people have confided in me with these matters before. I've come to recognize them.

Cynder: (Realizing there's no fooling him) Yeah, it's a matter of the heart.

Dunban: And I picture it's about Spyro.

Cynder: Yeah.

Dunban: I figured it'd be him, you're closer with him than anyone else here. You must be struggling with telling him of your feelings.

Cynder: I've already told him, but I don't know if he heard me.

Dunban: I'm sure he heard. In fact, if I had to guess, he feels exactly the same way.

Cynder: You think so?

Dunban: Only way you'll know is to check.

Cynder: Thanks, Dunban. I just might do that.

Cynder: I'm not disagreeing. But... today's just not that day.

Dunban: (Realizing she still won't tell him, at least not yet) I understand. But know this, I'll be here when you decide it is that day.

Cynder: Thanks, Dunban.
