Welcome back to the Xenoblade Heart to Heart series! Last time, Sharla got her chats in her hometown. So, who's next up for Colony 6? Well, it's probably one of my favorite characters to work with in this series: Dunban. So let's get on with it!
Heart to Heart 33: With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility
Participants: Spyro and Dunban
Location: Hope Farm Turret
Affinity: Lavender
Prerequisites: Special Level 3, and only in the evening
Introduction
Dunban: There we go. Another good day of reconstruction finished.
Spyro: (Slightly distracted) Yeah.
Dunban: Are you okay, Spyro?
Spyro: Yeah, just thinking.
Dunban: About?
Pass/Pass
Spyro: This is going to sound weird, but... your arm.
Dunban: My arm? What about it?
Spyro: It just seems... cruel.
Dunban: What you were thinking about it?
Spyro: No, what happened to you in Sword Valley.
Dunban: Oh, the loss of my arm's functionality.
Spyro: I mean, it's just cruel really. All you tried to do is save those you held dear, and even trying to do that permanently destroyed a crucial part of you.
Dunban: I won't deny it, I thought that at first too. But then I thought about it a bit. The loss of an arm can be overcome, the loss of lives cannot. (Thinking about it) But something tells me you're partially worried about someone else.
Spyro: (Sighs) You're right. I don't want to sound selfish...
Dunban: But you're worried about your own power destroying you like the Monado nearly destroyed me.
Spyro: I know it sounds selfish, but yeah.
Dunban: I have a feeling it won't destroy you. The restraint you show using it tells me that much.
Spyro: Thanks, Dunban. That's exactly what I needed to hear.
Dunban: Any time.

Pass/Fail
Spyro: This is going to sound weird, but... your arm.
Dunban: My arm? What about it?
Spyro: It just seems... cruel.
Dunban: What you were thinking about it?
Spyro: No, what happened to you in Sword Valley.
Dunban: Oh, the loss of my arm's functionality.
Spyro: You took that a lot better than I was expecting...
Dunban: It took some getting used to, but I've managed to cope with being left-handed by necessity.
Spyro: Even then, it's still got to have been a high price for saving those you love.
Dunban: (Sensing something) There's something you're not telling me. Out with it.
Spyro: You've always been good at reading me. I guess I'm worried about my own power. Selfish sounding, I know.
Dunban: You're worried you'll end up destroying yourself with your power?
Spyro: Or someone I love.
Dunban: I have seen you exercise the most remarkable restraint with your abilities. I don't see you hurting anyone with them, so long as you keep control. I'm willing to help you work on that if you need.
Spyro: Really?
Dunban: Of course.

Fail/Pass
Spyro: You.
Dunban: Should I let Cynder know? I don't know how she'd take that.
Spyro: (Rolling his eyes) Not like that, Dunban.
Dunban: I know, just trying to have a bit of fun with you.
Spyro: No offense, but it's not really helping.
Dunban: Then what will?
Spyro: Something that tells me I won't destroy everything.
Dunban: (Thinks about it) You're worried the power you hold will destroy something you care about, aren't you?
Spyro: You always could read me like a book. I mean, if fate was cruel enough to strip you of an arm for trying to save people, who's to say it won't do worse to me?
Dunban: It won't. I did what I did because it was what was right. You and I have the same motivation in that way. So long as you're following that moral compass of yours, nothing will like that will befall you.
Spyro: (Sighs) Thanks, Dunban.

Dunban: I know, just trying to have a bit of fun with you.
Spyro: No offense, but it's not really helping.
Dunban: Then what will?
Spyro: If I'm being honest, I don't really know.
Dunban: Well... I'm... not really sure what to do in this scenario.
Spyro: (Sighs) Don't worry about it, Dunban. I'll figure it out eventually. What do you say we get some rest? It's been a long day.
Dunban: Agreed. Don't think I'll let this go so easily, Spyro.

And that wraps up our first chat with Dunban at this location. So, what does Cynder have to say to the Hero of Sword Valley? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
