Welcome back to the Xenoblade Heart to Hearts series! Last time, Dunban returned to the chat, speaking with Spyro in a chat with a very familiar title. So how do Dunban and Cynder break down their discussion this time? Read on to discover...

Heart to Heart 34: Unpleasant Memories

Participants: Dunban and Cynder

Location: Hope Farm Ridge

Affinity: Green

Prerequisites: Special Level 4, Commerce Level 2

Introduction

Cynder: Hey Dunban?

Dunban: Yeah?

Cynder: Don't take this the wrong way, but you seem... kind of distracted today.

Dunban: It's... sort of a grim anniversary for me.

Pass/Pass

Cynder: (Puts it together) It's Sword Valley isn't it?

Dunban: Hard to believe it's already been a year.

Cynder: Trust me, anniversaries of these sorts never get any easier.

Dunban: You sound like you're speaking from experience.

Cynder: You're not the only one with a grim anniversary coming up.

Dunban: Can I ask?

Cynder: It's been nearly 10 years since everything went wrong for me.

Dunban: That's... kind of vague.

Cynder: Let's just say I'm not very comfortable talking about it.

Dunban: I understand. But... you do know I'm always available to talk if you want to.

Cynder: Thanks, Dunban.

Dunban: Can I ask?

Cynder: I'd rather you didn't.

Dunban: (Sensing something is off) Admittedly, that's got me worried.

Cynder: I appreciate it Dunban, I really do. But... it's just too much to process right now.

Dunban: (Sighs) I understand. But my door is always open if you want to talk.

Fail/Pass

Cynder: That's all I need to know.

Dunban: I'm sorry?

Cynder: I'm not going to quiz you farther. Just knowing today's a bad day for you is enough for me.

Dunban: I appreciate that, Cynder. (Realizes something) But it sounds like I'm not alone in remembering something today.

Cynder: (Sighs) You're better at reading me than I expected.

Dunban: So... what is it?

Cynder: It's still a sensitive subject for me. I'd rather not discuss it if possible. At least, for now.

Dunban: I understand. But don't be afraid to call me if you need to talk.

Cynder: Thanks, Dunban.

Cynder: I have no idea what you're talking about.

Dunban: I can tell the shadows of reminiscence. Especially dwelling on negative experiences. And you know that's from personal experience.

Cynder: There's really nothing going on here, Dunban.

Dunban: (Not buying it for a second) I'll back off then. For now.

And that looks like a good spot to end for now. Yes, this one is a bit shorter. But one of those is bound to happen if you work on a series like this long enough. Anyways, who's our next conversationalist? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
